"West, it doesn't matter which one of us wins now. It didn't ever matter. It was all a ploy to lure the angels from their sleep and plant the seed of corruption into heaven. Elessia -- she conspires against Michael as we speak! Narathos, Kali and Malacai invade the sacred garden to imprison the Creator! Anarchy reigns!"

She approached it and ascended through it as far as she needed to find the source of the calling. Going through all this for something Nai didn't know the half of? It was a strange sensation that bothered the woman. X stayed put in Nai's shadows as she ascended.
As for the details of the missive that had been sent to Nai? She had thought about them and remembered them. All the names but for Kala's and Michael's had initially struck the girl as unfamiliar. That is, until, X shed light on them and gave to Nai a brief but informative history lesson. There were pieces missing, but they slowly fell into place. What Nai had brushed off as a failed part of her mission grew in importance. The powerful man she had heeded but cared little for turned into someone she would have to learn more about. There was so little time for explanations to be made that Nai could only learn so much.
Enlightened as Nai might have been, Nai was still Nai. She had lived, ever since finding her own freedom, as a silent mercenary and watcher, always caring for the world only as much as she needed to. It had been how she had taught and she had never found a lesson that taught her otherwise. When she found herself at wherever it was she was supposed to be, she would stand there impassively. The curiosity she felt was not deemed important enough to move the muscles on her face. It could not be helped. She did not have the chance to learn emotions and expressions like others as a baby and child, and being the host of Sloth had stunted what little emotional growth living freely should have given her.
Nai may not have approached Niraliel reverently. In fact, she almost treated the angel much like how she had treated Zachariah: acknowledging them mentally as someone or thing more than human but not bothering with the physical motions such knowledge was usually accompanied by. However, Nai felt to Niraliel one important thing that she did not feel to Zachariah or Kaminae, to name the only other deity Nai happened to have met in person. To Niraliel, Nai felt a pull. The same pull that brought her to the tower with a mere message. The... Nai, being a stranger to emotions, could not name the emotions that filled the missive, but whatever they were, she could feel it herself. It sucked, but it also comforted her somehow. Nai felt she could relax around Niraliel, and relaxing was a preciously rare sensation for the ever-alert gunslinger.Female ✖ 20 years ✖ 5' 8" ✖ 131 lb. ✖ Black Hair ✖ Black EyesX XMaster ✖ Gunslinger ✖ Sub-Ninja ✖ Chaos ✖ Tempus Inexstinctus ✖ SlothX X X Xstrength: 5 ✖ speed: 8 ✖ dodge: 13 ✖ energy: 1800/1800 ✖ ammo: 440/440PassivesXXChaotic Energy: A passive skill that comes naturally after learning at least five chaos skills, Chaotic Energy is present when the chaos within the user reaches the point where it effects the way their energy is seen. (Apologies in advance for the incoming metric ******** of dialogue.)
"Nai," a voice called out to her from the shadows. She's here, a voice would sound in the Tempus' mind. It was a voice she probably hadn't ever heard before - it was the voice of her bloodline, as if sentient. As if it had been waiting to speak. "I am glad that you could come." She stepped out of the darkness and revealed herself, power and glory all; she was Niraliel, the most powerful of all angels remaining, though she did not look the way she was often depicted. She looked like . . . a demon, sort of, or a Dark Elf. It was strange, and very different. "I will not beat around the bush. I have called you here because I require you. In fact, I have required you for a long time. You are one of those in the world that was chosen for the angels - for our agenda, to preserve our future. I spoke to Michael long ago about you, though I did not reveal why I had become your patron. I did not want him to grow scared, paranoid of the future to come. One knack of our Creator is that he is very similar to you mortals; he fears, he longs, he's sometimes very weak. And yet, that is why we need him. There is a certain evil compulsion that is readily available to those without the same range of empathetic emotions that he has." She of course spoke of the angels that betrayed him, her voice calm yet reasonably angered.
The events that had transpired as of recent weren't ones that promoted patience. She was mad at the other angels. She felt betrayed by them . . . all of them that betrayed their Creator. The evils they unleashed were astounding.
"There is hope. I suppose I lied when I said there was no hope, to you, when I contacted you. Perhaps I feared that Malacai would delve into my mind and uncover the source of my errant thoughts. Now that we are safe from their prying eyes, however, I am free to speak. I have made the Tower of Sin my base of operations, managing to consolidate its magical energy and use it to empower my own. This not only has managed to lock Narathos, Kali and Malacai out of this territory, but has kept me as powerful as I was while I was in heaven. This means that in the larger picture, I am nearly as powerful as Narathos and superior to his individual partners. I have used this power to a certain purpose . . . reconnecting with visions of the past, recalling things Michael may have told me through thousands of years of dialogue. It is now that I remember that he left something behind with which to solve this disparity. He did fear, in fact, of a day where he would be betrayed. He created two artifacts for me to harness in case of his demise. The only issue is . . . only one that dwells in the Third Plane may bear these artifacts, as he feared that angels and demons may simply destroy them. They are immune to the sensory of angels and demons. Only I have the ability to sense their presence."
She waved her hand over a wall, a map of Axiom appearing. As she focused, two blinking red dots appeared and marked locations on the map. Those, Nai's mind whispered to her again, Are the two Sonnets of Heaven. They are words that cast spells with which to give strength to Niraliel. They will augment two of her greatest spells; reverse time manipulation, and isolated time manipulation. These spells enable her fullest potential so that she may undo specific events in history, regarding specific people, in specific locations. What the augment will allow is the control of events from a different plane. Niraliel can no longer enter heaven; she needs to be able to do this from the Tower of Sin. Nai would know these things now as if she had been born knowing them. She was trained to understand this mission and the blood that coursed through her veins was her educator.
But that didn't mean she wouldn't need Niraliel's guidance.
"Let me be truthful with you, Nai, as you may hesitate to fall in line with this goal. That is perfectly fine in the moment, but I have seen a future without Michael and it is terrible. This planet's population will be carved off by 80%. The Red will rise with Geshan and conquer Fraxon; Nocturne's mortal inhabitants will be wiped out, overwhelmed by and replaced by demons. Humans will be enslaved by angels who had already begun to abandon their morality, their dedication. Narathos will rise to supremacy and feed the chaos as he wishes. With the Red, the Bleeding Lords will rise as new interim Gods and war with the angels and demons. The planet's resources will be shaved off, it will be violently terraformed into a place of desert and famine. All will despair without Order. You will too. And so it is in your interests to comply." She was well aware that Nai could... deNai (shoot me), even now. She simply had to hope that she would not make that decision - that brave, unwise, soulless decision.
She had to resolve things at least. Regardless of Nai's choice, Niraliel's path was clear. "I wish to tell you my story at least. This may be our last opportunity to speak, depending on how things go from here. The world deserves to know the history of its shepherds." She turned away, the wall that held a map simply changing to replicate a vision of heaven . . . golden, lush gardens, birds, rivers, trees, music, life. It was paradise, truly. It made this world look like hell.
"I was created alongside the Seraph, he and I the first angels to be born. For a long time my complexion - and my heart - were fair, and I was kind and unexposed to darkness. It was after a long time where Michael revealed to me that I would be his most trusted and the most essential component to the survival of heaven and mankind. Time would flow on regardless, but only in the First Plane. Axiom and Hell are . . . truthfully, universes of their own. Like with creating all things, each component is necessary. Justor provided the Moon, Energy . . . Solonor the Sun and the Crops - as well as life. I contributed time, and all of us contributed emotion. Daniel drew out the schematics for Axiom and designed the original races . . . the humans, their animals, so on and so forth. Each angel contributed something to make life enjoyable and dynamic. Even things such as War came from us, Zachariah and Solaris their strongholds. Antony gave us love and loyalty. Elessia gave us law and order. Yes, all of us were important. We were given our powers for the sake of maintaining human society as the original caretakers. However . . . things change. I know that better than anyone. My role eventually changed too.
"When the angels decided to erase humanity due to their destructive behavior, Michael demanded that they not suffer. A flood was too much, in truth. We did not kill humans with the flood. We killed them by erasing any trace of their existence; I did. I stepped into the Third Plane and erased thousands of years of history, my heart faltering though my loyalty to Michael compelled me. At first I was corrupted by doubt, but in the long run, I simply began to change. I hardened myself. I became more resolute and sought to serve Michael's orders. I began to perform many unfortunate feats. It didn't stop there. I began to erase ill events from history, rewinding time over and over again. I deleted angels that posed a threat, undid cataclysmic events that took a toll against Vangelism . . . I've seen a thousand alternate realities and have left only one standing. I became Michael's true justicar, his executioner. I am time in that I control its flow and predict its future. I am hope in that I provide another chance for humanity in times of ill. I am truth in that I decide what reality shall be made flesh. I do not rebel against this. In truth I am lucky to be given such an important role. However, there are convictions that come with it that need fulfilling, still."
She handed a glowing pyramid to Nai, one intense with red energy and a golden shimmering. Take it, her mind would tell her. It's the third artifact that the map reveals. Niraliel already possesses it. It will help you uncover the other two.
"I wish to undo the binding of Michael - his binding alone. I'll set time back in Heaven and make a change. Kala will remain trapped in hell, our true standing devil being Narathos and his goons. I want to truly provide a new fate for humanity. I want them to have hope - not just humans, but all of the life here. Will you allow them this boon?"

The gunslinger's blood, for lack of a better way for Nai to describe it, told her all she needed about this figure, and from the goddess, Nai could feel even more power than what she had felt from Zachariah. There was no acknowledgement of Niraliel's greetings, but Nai would listen quietly to this goddess's words. For the first time in years, her head felt clear and light. It lacked the constant intake of information that would often fill it, but Nai found she could focus on what she want without Sloth interfering and directing it to either nothing or something more important. In the presence of the angel, the Sin had retreated, hiding itself completely out of unwillingness to risk any kind of encounter.
The beginning was lengthy, and filled with exposition, but Nai carefully listened to it all. She did not treat Niraliel as she treated Zachariah, which is to say, Nai paid careful attention to what this last loyal angel had to say to her. Her instinct and blood compelled her to think carefully on what she was told. Zachariah was just another powerful being to Nai, but Niraliel was not so.
Then, as Nai carefully set away questions to consider for later, there was a pause in the angel's words, and during that pause as she looked up at the map Niraliel waved her hand over, Nai knew. Just like how she could not fully understand how she knew that the stranger coming from her shadow was no threat, Nai could not explain how she suddenly knew not just the answers to all her questions but what Niraliel meant when she waved her hand wordlessly over the map. It was as if she was born with the information, and it came even more naturally to her than loading a gun and shooting a target did. The sensation felt strange, simultaneously natural and unnatural, but it was what sealed the deal for Nai. Niraliel did not need to speak the next few words to convince Nai to accept the task given to her. She did not need to reveal the destiny that awaited the world if Nai chose to turn her back and just leave. If there was one thing the former slave and soldier knew how to do, it was to follow the task given to her. Sure, there was no promise of payment, which had lately become Nai’s main reason for accepting a task. However, this wasn’t just any task. It was a task she was born to do. Just as the entirety of her very being compelled her to live no matter what, so it now compelled to follow the task Niraliel set forth for her. This wasn’t Nai’s blood speaking to her, like how it had told her the information on the two Sonnets of Heaven. This wasn’t some seed of obedience that had been planted within Nai when she was chosen. This was the woman finally realizing something to do besides stay alive. The sensation was new, different, and Nai did not fully understand it yet.
What Niraliel’s words did do was it gave Nai a reason beyond blindly following her intuition. For the host of Sloth, reasons were what moved the body. For now, Sloth remained dormant and hidden, not daring to make his presence known to the angel of time while in her own domain. However, once Nai was outside of Niraliel’s influence, that would have been an entirely different story. Whatever motivation may have struck Nai, it would have all been for naught if Sloth overpowered it. The Sin cared not for Nai’s character development into someone that wasn’t a brick, especially not when Sloth chose Nai because she showed even less of an emotional spectrum than a dirt road. However, with what Niraliel told Nai, even Sloth had reason to at least not interfere. Desert and famine were not ideal conditions for a no-hassle life. The rise of new gods also did not sit well with the Sin, who would rather not have to learn a new pantheon.
With Sloth out of the picture, Nai could freely listen as she pleased to Niraliel’s story. Again, Niraliel received undivided attention, even though Nai found little use for actually knowing the story. Some of it was information that she had never heard of, yes. However, Nai could not figure out what she was to do with it. Singing stories to the rest of the world wasn’t exactly Nai’s occupation, nor was it the silent gunslinger’s hobby.
Niraliel, when all was said and done, would find Nai staring intently at her. As always, the gunslinger had shown very little reaction during the goddess's speech, but behind the poker face, Nai was feeling more things than she realized she could and it all confused her. When she had first taken in Sloth, she had been such an emotionless doll she did not notice any difference at all. Since that fateful day, years had passed and she’d slowly been exposed to human nature. It had built up in her little by little but always crushed beneath the ever-apathetic Sin. She could feel it now, though, bumbling, confused, but most definitely there. It was, if she had to tell the truth, an uncomfortable sensation she could not enjoy, but it also gave her freedom she had not tasted before. She silently followed her blood and took the third artifact from Niraliel, and while waiting for any hints her blood would give her on exactly how the artifact would help her. Nai gave her verbal agreement, a curt, “Yes,” before leaving. -Exit-Female ✖ 20 years ✖ 5' 8" ✖ 131 lb. ✖ Black Hair ✖ Black EyesX XMaster ✖ Gunslinger ✖ Sub-Ninja ✖ Chaos ✖ Tempus Inexstinctus ✖ SlothX X X Xstrength: 5 ✖ speed: 8 ✖ dodge: 13 ✖ energy: 1800/1800 ✖ ammo: 440/440PassivesXX. . .XXTemporal Accuracy: Those who can control time naturally have a keen sense of time that is capable of accurately keeping the time without any form of outside help.
