One of the perks of being with a senshi who went to school and held down an internship was the fact Yumi got to do so much on her own. There was as schedule she followed to get into the city, buses she took, or trucks she rode on. Her senshi tended to live further out than most, but that was alright. She didn't mind the exercise; it helped her keep her pretty figure. So far today it seemed that everything was going according to schedule. There wasn't any noticeable Negaverse energy around, no cries for help, which meant the snowshoe could stop and smell the flowers. Literally! Yumi stopped at a flower shop to smell the winter flowers that still managed to somehow thrive and just let out a purr of contentment before trodding off. It was almost as if she was on some important mission right this minute when she just wanted to explore the city and see if she could bump into anymore cats. So far she'd only met Snowball. He was a wonderful male, but sometimes she just wanted another female to talk to about things. Why? Well she just seemed more connected to them. Who knew really. All in all, she was keeping her blue eyes open for that star that meant Mauvian.

This cafe was boring. Granted, it was late December, so people weren't filling the outside tables the way she would have liked. Getting inside to poke around was a lot harder now... But luckily, her lack of entertainment was not fated to last indefinitely. All too soon, she felt a tiny aura not unlike her own and the silver Burmilla turned on her perch at the top of a decorative brick wall to search for the guardian she felt approaching.
Ash didn't run into other guardians all that often, especially not alone like this. Most seemed to cling to their senshi, bonded or not. Snowball had been the only one, really, that she had found on his own, but Ash was sociable enough to welcome one of her own kind. Who knew what sort of juicy gossip this guardian could have to share?
Sliding her legs out, Ash stretched luxuriously, her spine curved as her tail lifted high in the air. A yawn cracked her jaws wide for a moment before she shifted up to her paws, peering curiously over the edge of the wall. It didn't take long for the other cat to come into sight and Ash's ears perked forward, her head tilting to the side.
"Hello!" She called, her tail flicking behind her. "I don't believe I've met you before. I'm Ash."

She'd been trotting along like she had very important business to attend to (which was a lie, because she was free). So for Yumi to hear a voice calling out to her, the Snowshoe stopped and looked up to spy another of her kind on a wall. With a noise of excitement, Yumi looked about before making her way up the wall. Better to talk at close range than yell at one another. Soon enough she was on the wall and padding her way over, a wide smile on her face. "Hello! I can confirm we've never met. I'm Yumi." She sat down on her haunches, letting her tail hang along the wall as her tail flicked. Those ears poked forward in interest. "Ash? ...I don't remember hearing that name, but I don't hear a lot about other Mauvians." She nodded at her own words, thinking about it. Her conversation with Snowball coming back to her, she didn't think he mentioned an Ash either. Ah well. "You come to this spot often?"

Head tilted, Ash watched with interest as the other female joined her, settling onto her haunches to curl her tail about her paws. She was excited at the prospect of meeting someone new and getting a chance at a good little gossip fest. It would not only relieve her boredom, but was in line with her interests too!
There was a feline smile on her face as Yumi introduced herself. Leaning forward, Ash puffed her whiskers forward and sniffed in a typical cat-greeting, giving a long, lazy blink of her eyes.
"I don't come here much, but then, I wander a lot. Headquarters is really the only stable place I keep coming back to, but I haven't run into you there. Are you new? Granted, I don't know everyone yet, but you have that feel to you. Are you bonded to anyone?" Snowball was, and Quenton had that alley cat she could always smell on him... and ********* had her team. Zirc had had a team, but didn't any more.
She wondered, for a moment, if there was something wrong with her, that she hadn't settled on one person, or group of persons, to serve as a guardian... but it was a fleeting moment. She was a FABULOUS guardian, of course there was nothing wrong with her. If anything, she had an advantage over these bonded cats, since she had all senshi to claim as hers, not just limited to a handful or so.

Yumi, in kind, greeted the other back with the whisker puff sniffing before letting her tail flick to the side. Headquarters? The snowshoe tilted her head to the side and thought about that. "I'm new...ish. I've here for a few months now. As for not being at headquarters, well..." Her head canted to the other side as her ears flicked, trying to pick her words. "I found my senshi, Sailor Kepler! And with her things are interesting because she's not what I was expecting at all! I was expecting a difficult teenager and... she's more like a mother-hen." She hung her head a little before laughing and shrugging. "So I have to be with her a lot so she doesn't take on too much and over work herself." Which, Yumi admitted, Kepler did a lot. Against the advice Yumi gave her. Oh well. "What about you? Are you bonded? What is your senshi like? Do I know them?" Yumi seemed to be getting more and more excited, even as she settled down into a more comfortable sitting position, eyes intently focused on Ash.

Ash settled herself as she listened, wondering about this 'Kepler' the other cat was so enamored of. She wasn't one Ash had ever met before, but that was okay... she had her own favorites, like Methone, Thraen and Astarte, among the handful she had awakened over her year as a guardian. A few months, hmm? That made this one a bit 'younger' than her and filled Ash with a swelling sense of pride for her accumulated experience.
"I'm not bonded." Ash said primly as she bent her head to wash a paw, scrubbing her cheeks with the limb. "I did not awaken with a need to find a particular senshi and none of the ones I've interacted with have sparked more feeling than any of the others. I'm quite happy, actually, to not have one right now... I have more freedom, I should think, to serve the faction as a whole. I have a handful of favorites, of course, who doesn't? But no singular one."
She dropped her paw as her tail flicked behind her. "I'm assuming your Kepler is a basic senshi? Lucky for you, to be there early to guide her through her growth as a senshi. I seem to find them already eternal a good deal of the time. Not that I'm not needed, of course, but there is that bit of their lives I would be keen to share, you know? Most of the cats I've met seem to be bonded like you, Yumi. It must be nice."

Ash was so prim and proper and Yumi felt a little awkward talking with her. But she didn't fret too long. Her tail flicked a little as she listened to the fact that Ash hadn't bonded and had no real pull to. So it wasn't for everyone? That was okay. Yumi awoken feeling that tug but everyone had different experiences, much like the senshi did. "I.. have woken up some senshi I felt really close to, and one I wish I didn't.." He'd screamed and yelled at her about his uniform, cursed at her and she had ended up so fed up she started crying at him. That wasn't fun in the least bit. "But never mind him. I'm sure he'll be a great help to our side once his rage gets under control." Her head canted to the side as she just played with her own toes, twitching them a little, toying with the claws laying in wait. She just got so upset with that still. "Yes!" She looked up again at the talk about Kepler before grinning. "She's getting stronger each and every day. I don't think she'll stay basic for too much longer." She had a huge swelling of pride at that. Even if she hadn't woken Kepler up, she was Yumi's senshi. "Well, I can definitely see the perks of not being bonded. Having one senshi has it's perks and it's flaws. It works for me, but it might not work for everyone, right? Otherwise we'd all have the pull to find that one senshi. I think it's interesting... It makes me wonder if Kepler hadn't been here if I would be completely unbonded too..."

The grey cat tilted her head with a frown.
"One you wish you hadn't? Goodness, what happened?" She said in concern, curiosity gnawing at her. She'd never had a bad experience with a senshi before, though you could argue Syrma hadn't been a whole lot of fun. Too prideful and prickly, that one... but not bad. Everyone else had seemed pleased to have her around and had treated her well, some like Thraen to the point of doting on her. Which, really, was how she felt it should be... Guardians were rare and wonderful things, after all.
"Rage? That's... certainly uncalled for. We're here to help senshi and I don't think any of us ask for anything in return, I don't think it fair for anyone to get mad at us." She wanted to find out the name of this senshi boy and go have some words with him... Poor Yumi looked too sweet to stand up to someone being a bully, but Ash certainly was not!

"It's not like I had any choice in his uniform!" Yumi kind of flopped to the side and let her tail flick a little more before shrugging. "If he can reign in his rage, he'll definitely be good to have on our side.. I guess he's strong.." He certainly did dust that youma easily enough after he was awakened. She sighed harder and just sat back up and then watched Ash for a moment and shrugged. Yumi's other experience waking senshi up had gone off without a hitch. Things went smooth, the senshi were excited, confused, and grateful! She liked those experiences. This one bad experience wasn't going to make her stop seeking out new senshi. They needed every single soldier that they could get their hands on, even the ones who get purified into knights! Her tail flicked a bit more slowly, her own annoyance at Sailor Chara's rage subsided and she was back with a sunny smile on her face and a little grin. "He'll get knocked down a peg or two by an Eternal sesnshi, I'm quite sure of it."

A humph was Ash's opinion of that.
"An Eternal if we're lucky... a General if we're not. Basics seem to have a bad habit of underestimating what they're now a part of." She said with a frown, her tail twitching back and forth behind her. "Its why I try so hard to get them up to speed when I awaken them. Its hard to stay in touch with everyone, so its important to get them off on the right foot. 'This is the enemy, this is what you can do, this is where you can go to get help or more information', you know, that sort of thing."
The silver cat puffed up happily, getting a touch of a smug expression on her face.
"I've awakened eight senshi so far, and upgraded two. I'm very proud of all of my senshi, they are very wonderful examples of their kind. Most seem to take to it fairly easily, though there were moments, of course, of disbelief over a talking cat and suddenly magical powers, but that's to be expected right?" She smiled as she groom a paw, scrubbing her white cheeks smooth and clean. She liked to think her senshi were reflections of her own hard work and dedication to being a Guardian Cat. Wonderful senshi, wonderful cat, right?

If they weren't lucky he'd be knocked down by something Chaos aligned and that could teach him an even better lesson, honestly. Yumi humphed a bit herself and then smoothed her fur down a bit before settling and letting her expression ease. "I try to get them up to speed, too. I can't find one of the senshi I awakened.." She looked thoughtful and then shrugged. "I'm sure Kepler can help me. I've awakened... Three so far. But I've not been here too long. No upgrades, though I'll definitely upgrade Kepler!" She looked proud of that fact and then grinned. "Mm. The whole talking cat thing gets a little old, but I have to remember it's not common." Alas. Her head tilted to the side a little before looking off and thinking again, ears twitching before shaking her head. One day they'd have a way to keep track of everyone they've awakened and be able to help them at a moments notice. "Ah, I hope I'm not keeping you busy.."

The silver cat smiled as she tilted her head.
"You aren't bothering me, but I suppose I should be going. I did promise to meet one of mine later today." Ash purred as she rose and padded close, giving Yumi a friendly head butt and cheek rub.
"It was very pleasant to meet you, Darling. I hope we run into each other again, so we can catch each other up on everything that's happened. I'm glad we did today!" She said brightly as she prepared to jump down from the ledge, her paws drawn up neatly under her.
"Good bye, Yumi! I'll see you again!" Ash tossed over her shoulder with a smile.

Yumi blinked at the bit of affection but laughed and returned it. She rubbed back and then got to her own paws, watching as the other seemed to daintily jump off the ledge. "Until next time!" The cat donned in butterflies just giggled a little and stayed where she was, tail flicking in an interested way. One bad experience awakening a senshi wasn't going to stop her from awakening more, oh no. She had to build up a thicker skin to do this job. Yumi was determined and slowly stretched herself out as she continued to wait.
