Getting there had been a bit of a blur involving a higher up and her mentioning needing to get some training in combat, and then next thing she'd known, she'd been practically dragged and shoved into a strange place that she had never seen before. She'd been given the name 'Captain Cinnabar', and then the higher up had left.

Her life, geez.

Sighing, the tiny girl rubbed her temple, then stood up straight and looked around. "Ah...Captain Cinnabar? I was told to find you?" She really hated when she wasn't given much to go on. She really, really hated it.

Cinnabar had been waiting longer than she would have liked for the Lieutenant to arrive, long enough she'd been ready to harass whoever was doing the shuttling duty. Like, ********... just because she didn't have a civilian life any more didn't mean her time was cheap. Standing inside the mouth of an alley while trying not to look like a hooker in her leathers was not the way she cared to spend her evening. Hell, training Lieutenants was not how she wanted to spend any length of time, but at this point she owed General-Queen Laurelite her life and thus could not properly refuse to do anything she asked her to do.

Leaning back against the dirty brick, the tall officer tucked her hands behind her head, elbows in the air, and debated just up and leaving. She was starving and this waiting did not help things... she needed to take her mind off of it.

The auras arrived before the view did and the lanky captain slanted a glance towards the opening to the street, the length of her tail stirring behind her legs.

"Hey." She called in greeting, something of her boredom in her voice. It wasn't until she got a proper look at who she was training that interest perked up and she straightened slowly, dropping her arms to prop her hands on her hips instead. A fanged smile split her face as she paced away from the brick, hips swinging.

"Lieutenant Sphalerite, yeah? I believe you're here for some training in Energy Draining... Nice to meet you."

Geez, this girl was nearly a foot shorter than she was... and probably almost half her age. Damn.

Whatever Sphalerite had been expecting, it wasn't what she saw. Her eyes widened a bit, more in curiosity than anything else. Not only was the woman damn near a foot taller than her, maybe more, she reminded her of some sort of dragon-cat. Was there something she had missed? Some meeting on 'Inhuman Features and the Negaverse 101'?

"Uh...yeah. That's me. Nice to meet you, too, ma'am! Pretty sure I need all the training I can get. At least if I'm gonna be useful." Which was what she wanted to be. Especially after meeting the a*****e Coffinite. Like hell she was going to let that multi-armed new age-y freak outdo her.

A smile tugged at Cinnabar's lips, flooding her with amusement at the title 'ma'am'. No one ever called her that... it felt strange in her ears. Idly, she wondered if she'd have more of that to look forward to now that she was a Captain. A new rank meant she wasn't on the bottom of the pile any more... all of the little Lieutenants should be calling her ma'am now. It was going to be something to get used to... but it wasn't an unpleasant prospect. Especially when some of the lieutenants were pretty girls like this one.

The widening eyes put a bit of a strut into her step, the half-youma enjoying the reaction. She was something to look at, and she knew it.

"Might as well get started then. How much draining have you done up until now? Where do you typically do it and who do you go after as targets? I want to know what your comfort zone is. Everyone seems to go about it differently and I don't particularly want to push you in a direction you don't want to go... it would be inefficient to fight with it rather than do something you're already good with." She said as she gave the girl another once over, noting muscle tone or lack of, the way she stood and how she reacted when Cinnabar herself got close.

'Might as well get started then.' That got Sphalerite's full attention [for the moment], the girl taking in the rapid-fire questions and formulating the responses she'd give once the Captain was finished. Good questions, and it reminded her again that sometimes war was full of things you didn't like doing. She'd begun capoeira in an attempt to get herself less...well, defenseless, because self-defense lessons only got you so far, and she could at least do something that was basically dance-turned-deadly.

"I tend to go after troublemakers, ma'am. People that make this city unsafe to begin with and can use a little knocking down." The bullies, the cheats, the muggers...The people she wanted to punch in the face anyways. "I've not really done much yet, because I'm still learning and it's been hard to get used to, but I'm in this and I'm not going to let that stop me. When I try draining, I tend to stick to the areas that...they aren't crowded, but there's still people and places for assholes to do shitty stuff so I can snag 'em."

Cinnabar shrugged when the lieutenant was finished, turning to pace deeper into the alley.

"That's a decent way to go about it. It's good for PR, focusing on the unsavory types... cleans up the streets and we get our energy at the same time." A smile pulled at her lips, her tail swinging side to side as she walked. "I do the same, but I like to focus on more highly populated areas... like bars, raves, concerts. Places where this is a lot of alcohol or music or something big to act as a distraction. That's how my method works... rather than brute force someone, I use a distraction and drain them while they're not paying attention. If you can be subtle, it works well, and crowds mean a lot of sources right there to hand."

Turning away from where the alley emptied back out to the next street, the half youma turned and looked up, gauging the distance to the roof top.

"Come on... lets find someone for you to drain. I want to see you in action." She said as she tossed a cocky smile over her shoulder and crouched before launching herself upwards with a powerful jump. She landed on the rail of the fire escape and jumped again, making it to the roof in two. There, she perched on the ledge and crouched down, peering over. "I can pick someone out for you, or you can do it yourself, either way."

"I don't think I'm ready for highly populated yet, if someone decided to try and play misguided hero. And I'm too young to do a lot of that stuff by myself. Yet." As great as a distraction would be...her age really did work against her. But that wouldn't be an issue for too much longer. Less than a year, and she'd be old enough to really do stuff.

The girl followed the Captain up, taking a bit longer, but getting up there faster than a normal human might anyways. "I can pick. Might be easier. I've been spotting from above for a while now, so I'm used to it." She'd also been using height as a way to track Senshi and Knights as they made their rounds. She was quick to settle herself in a good spot to look for someone in, and perked when she spotted someone almost right away.

"That guy looks pretty shifty. Reminds me of some of the drug dealers I've knocked out before." And had of course left an anonymous tip to the cops for pick-up afterwards because like hell she was leaving the assholes on the streets. She moved to get ready to pull a 'death from above' routine. [Though she wasn't plotting death, just a KO and drain.]

Cinnabar huffed a laugh as she watched the girl climb up, her forearms braced comfortably against her thighs as she perched on the balls of her feet. Her tail made balance easy, one of the new benefits of having one.

"The whole point is that no one notices anything to play hero over, Cutie." She chuckled, her head tilting. "And they make sixteen plus nights. I guess its not for everyone though... just means you have to put out more effort for the same amount of reward. I'm something of a fan of efficiency."

When they were together, Cinnabar rose to follow with a lazy strut, her hips swinging and boots making sharp sounds against the stone and gravel. Now that they were actually moving, she was content to take her time with it and watch as the lieutenant chose a target and went for it. The creeping about was pretty funny, the getting herself into position like a predator in the jungle... Cute, even.

The half-youma eased up behind her and came to a stop, her face smoothing out to blankness at the mention of drug dealers. Her eyes narrowed and she peered over her shoulder to get a look for herself. It was a likely assessment... he seemed the type, even if some had skill at hiding what they were. She liked to think she could spot them easier than most.

Take him down, Lovely... show me what you're made of.

"Huh. I didn't know those were a thing often in this area." She'd have to keep that in mind! But for now...

She climbed over the edge of the roof, kind of looking like a swimmer hanging off the edge of the pool. And promptly pushed off and let go simultaneously to make sure she didn't hit any part of the building on the way down, landing on the man in...

Well, she didn't hurt herself, but it definitely wasn't nearly as badass a landing as she'd intended. She'd ended up knocking him over and that had ended with her sprawled on top of his back a few seconds before she scrambled to deliver a quick punch to the back of his head before he could react. And proceeded to look sheepish.

Well that had not been what she'd been after, but it'd do. And it got him dazed enough, at least, for her to start draining without worrying about being stabbed or shot.

She'll get better Cin. She's just so a babby Nega right now.

Cinnabar chuckled as she rocked on her heels, waiting to watch the lieutenant do her thing.

"I only know of them because I avoid them like the plague." She chuckle, her head tilted to the side as the other woman crawled over the edge and hung there. Strange sort of move, but... she pushed off and dropped as the captain moved to follow, leaning far enough forward to watch as she fell onto her victim and knocked them both to the ground.

She made a small Tsk sound as she braced a boot against the ledge of the roof. The knock out was pretty clean, and a good safe guard. When she began draining, the half youma stepped up and over to drop to the ground beside her, landing with a hard thump and knees bent to take the impact.

"Next time, Lovely, you should jump off facing outward. Its not that far to the ground, and you can make sure you have your feet properly under you when you land. You'd also be able to see where you're jumping to better... but its all practice." She shrugged as she came forward and bent to watch her drain the unconscious man. "You've got a good foundation. We just need to brush up your skills a little. When you're done, we'll go find someone for me to drain and I'll show you how I do it for comparison."

She heard Cinnabar's words, nodding slightly to indicate she had while not breaking her focus. While it got a little easier each time, it still required concentration. When she finished, she looked up at the older Nega.

"I can definitely work on it later. The jump and landing bit." It would be helpful to have a little more control and sight of where she was going, rather than having to plan ahead quite so much. "Got the energy, though." She held up the collected bit, stashing it away soon afterwards for turn-in later.

"Ready when you are, ma'am."

Cinnabar straightened up when the lieutenant finished, giving her a look as she tucked the energy orb away, but choosing not to say anything. It didn't matter who brought it in... and not needing account for it would make it easier to concentrate. It wouldn't do to ******** up her own demonstration, after all.

Waving a hand to beckon the girl to follow, the captain headed for the slightly more trafficked areas, keeping them both to the outskirts and dark places that would hide the extra bits Cin wore. It took a bit, finding just the right place... She would have done a bar, but with a minor along? That option was out. That didn't mean it wouldn't be useful to start though...

The one she found seemed to have a rich night life, people coming and going as the music blasted inside. You could feel the vibration through the walls and it made Cinnabar's teeth ache, even as her heart beat faster in her chest. Waving Sphalerite back out of view, she picked out a man leaving with an unsteady gate, his distance from the rest of the people in the small crowd hinting he was probably alone. When he passed the side of the building, she reached out to snag his arm, a sultry smile on her face.

"Hey, Handsome..." She purred as she gently drew him away and closer to the shadows. "You have some money for a cab? My friend I drank it all in the bar... you'd be my hero if you can help us out."

The pair backed towards the shadows as the Captain kept her tail tucked behind her legs, counting on his drunkenness and eyes on her cleavage to hide her differences. He mumbled something in a slushy voice, lisping through an offering to drive them home as Cinnabar laughed and shook her hair out, playing the ditzy bar fly. A hand behind her back hid the energy orb that grew in her palm and she ran her hand down his arm, teasing him as they talked and she danced around actually offering him anything.

It didn't take long... soon he was staggering and she reached out to steady him, pushing him back to lean against the rough wall.

"Shhh, you're tired... you can sleep it off here, you just drank too much..." She said soothingly as she eased him down, still draining him until he passed out entirely and she could triumphantly display her large orb of energy.

"Misdirection and distraction." She said with a grin. "An a soft touch. Drunks are the best for draining."

Sphal followed the older agent, hands on her hips with her thumbs tucked into the sash around her waist. It was easy enough to look like just another teenager, instead of an agent of an organization few knew about. No one had to know her uniform wasn't just a fashion statement.

On queue, she moved back, making herself a part of the shadows. And she watched. Cinnabar's way...was definitely easier. Though she'd need to work on...well, her acting. She...really needed to work on that anyways. She was getting better, but she still had to be careful to not let anything slip to her parents. Maybe it would be easier with strangers? Her eyes widened at Cinnabar's orb, and she whistled.

"Damn. That's...a lot better than I did." She thought of the little orb tucked into her shirt. "It makes sense though. That...hm." She'd have to practice...definitely learn to be a little less...well, she needed to learn to lie better. She really did.

Whimsical Blue
PostPosted: Mon Apr 27, 2015 12:45 pm

The tall woman shrugged as she rolled the orb over her palm, a smile teasing across her lips.

"I have to admit, its not something everyone can do the way I do it." She waved a hand at herself matter-of-factly, one hip cocked. "I have a hot body and I've learned its easy to use the promise of sex as a way to draw in the unsuspecting and keep them distracted until I've got what I want from them. Maybe that doesn't work for you, whatever. But there are other ways of distracting people and keeping their minds off what you're doing. You can even get them to help you, if you play it right. Maybe you're a terrified young girl being attacked by a monster and they try to protect you... or you're hurt and need their assistance... There are ways and ways, you know?"

The captain tossed the orb up and caught it again. "I think that's probably good for tonight though, what do you think? You can practice what I showed you, see if you can work out something you can do with it. If you want more guided practice, you know how to call me."

Cinnabar grinned as she gave the girl a wink, holding out a hand. "I'll take your turn in, since its on the way. And really. Don't be afraid to reach out. I enjoyed working with you tonight."

Or you're hurt and they need assistance. That one stuck in her mind more than the others, for reasons she didn't want to think about. Nope. Never. She nodded at each suggestion however, plotting to see what tactics might work best for her.

"One way or another, I'll find the best tactic for me. Varying from person to person, of course." Because people were different every time. Even the same person could be influenced different ways each time. "I think tonight was definitely good. Thank you for the lesson, ma'am!" She willingly handed over the energy sphere, smile on her face. You didn't question a superior. "I'll see you in the future, ma'am. I'll definitely call for you again if I need the help, or feel I need a little guidance on this. For now...I'd best be getting lost. Thank you again!" The girl was quick to make her way out of the area once she knew Cinnabar had the orb securely, determined to make it home before her father landed with the last flight in of the night.
