It was a sunny day for winter, and Arthur was glad that, for as much as the weather was trying to kill him, the asphalt under his paw pads was warm beckoning for him to take a nice sidewalk nap.
Instead, he knew he had to make time. The sun went up and went down in a short amount of time and with good weather was this, he knew people would be eager to get out of their houses to soak up what little bit of sun they could find. That meant they would be eating, and that meant the groggy would be lining up outside cafes and debating if they could sit outside at the tables.
Licking his paw, he cleaned his face and hunkered by the tables, meowing and being the perfect poster-cat for charitable café donations. He managed to get half a scone and part of a Danish. Scone gone, he carried his Danish proudly in his mouth around the corner.

The funny thing about corners was, one never knew what was around one. Certainly a chubby manx cat could smell the delicious scent of a Danish nearby. However, as she turned the corner, she did not think she would literally be face-to-pastry with it.
Yet that seemed to be her fate as she let out a surprised (and pleased) mew.
The collision, though tasty smelling, was enough to get the Mauvian to stumble backwards, practically rolling onto her back.

Arthur tensed, arching his back at the sight of a cat that came out of nowhere. Tense, he curled over his danish, teeth clamping down tight over it as he gave a low growl that said YES THIS IS MINE even though it lacked any real threat of backup. In reality, it was more I'M BLUFFING PLEASE OMG DON'T FIGHT ME!
When he saw the cat roll back, he noticed it was not only smaller than him, but not very balanced.
Relaxing a bit, he looked up to look at her better. "Uv Ofay?*" He mumbled between the danish in his mouth. *You Okay?

********* ears twitched slightly at the awkward muffled sound coming from the other cat. It almost sounded like words. With a couple blinks, her eyes initially fell upon the magical hypnotizing danish.
However, another few blinks and soon enough her green eyes were able to focus in on the star upon the other feline's forehead.
"Oh, you're Mauvian!" she blurted out easily once she recognized a potential ally. With ease, she was able to flop over to her side, then push herself back up to all fours.
"That looks delicious!"

Arthur slowly set down his danish and then stepped one paw over it so that it was under him and well guarded.
"I'm Arthur." He said, not at all sure about being addressed as a Mauvian. It was - odd. He was if anything, a friend and housecat.
"And...And you should respect your elders. I'll whoop you if I have to, but I don't like raising my paw to youngins." He hoped his bluff worked.

The manx squirmed a bit as the treat was stuffed away from her reach, and her whiskers fanned out a bit at the chastising.
"I am full grown, thank you very much, Arthur!" Though there was a hint of an indignant tone, the small cat's voice seemed friendly enough.
"I just happen to be of a smaller stature. It's like how some humans are born short and some born tall. Though..." she sniffed the other Mauvian slightly. He didn't seem all that much older than her, despite how he spoke.
Deciding it was better to not push the issue, she offered something a bit more "respecful."
"My name is *********!" Even as she attempted to be polite, her tongue couldn't help but lick slightly at her maw. Saliva was a painful mistress at times.

"Nice to meet you, *********." He said. He was at least raised with manners, but he was still starving.
While his stomach groaned, he watched the young cat look at his treat. Looking at her, he wasn't sure if she was a house cat with her own food dish or trying to find something to eat too.
"Are you........on the streets?" He asked, looking around as if he could spot her owner. "You don't look like a stray. Are you lost?"

"Oh... how to describe my living situation..." she said in a lyrical manner. Sitting on her haunches, she lifted a paw to touch her own nose as she thought.
As she sat there, she spoke as she thought, her words rambling out slightly. "I guess the best way to describe it is that I am well traveled. I travel all across the city on a daily basis. There are some places I could consider a home, but none are for a permanent basis. No one person can go 'this is my cat' with me."
Well, there was one person who could claim that sort of thing, but Ellie was not the sort to claim ownership to a cat publicly.
Finally setting her paw down, she then gave a slightly more solid answer. "So I guess you can say I am sort of a stray, and sort of a house cat... though less emphasis on the house cat."

The lady sounded just like him, and he beamed at her. "So am I!" He said, and feeling a kinship to her, he tore off a piece of his danish and stepped back so he could kneel down and chew on his.
Between bites, which despite his best control he couldn't help but growl just faintly as a warning to others to not touch his food, he watched her. Licking his lips, he continued. "You must be doing well for being traveled. Do you have good sleeping places to stay out of the cold?"

Eagerly, the manx pounced at the piece of danish, gobbling it down within 5 seconds. One would think she had never seen food if they hadn't considered her physical stature into the whole situation.
Seemingly good humored about her stature, she mentioned "Well, the cold doesn't bother me anyways... good insulation and all!" With a giggle and a brief lick of her maw, she added "I have managed to find several nice people across the city that make it easy to make homes with any of them. Destiny City has made me feel rather welcome!"
