The Negaverse might have had its rules and expectations, but Sanidine was new enough that no one had given him a hard time about doing his own thing. He played the good soldier when was expected, but it didn't seem like anyone was really keeping a firm eye on him. Which meant that he was unleashed on the world, stronger, faster, better than before—and no one was around to remind him to behave.
So, knowing Sanidine couldn't be traced back to Zack, he'd gotten a bit more ballsy. Lurking in dark alleyways used to have consequences, but now? Now, he was the consequence.
It wasn't too late, but he wasn't up to anything particularly bad. Yet. The bar was closed for the night and no one was going to come by and check on him, so he was out—picking fights, gathering energy, bothering people. Whatever he felt like.
And then he saw her, in a neighborhood he knew she had to know was dangerous. So he approached her from behind, silently. He raised his hand and let it hover behind her back, just an inch from her, and wondered if he could plunge it in deep enough to pull out the coveted starseed inside. Or if he could even manage to do that and not make a bloody mess of things.
…But something stopped him; why rush it? Here she was, just some pretty blonde; she couldn't put up a fight if it came down to it—not when he had the Negaverse backing him.
He pushed his hand forward, and instead of thrusting it into her, he just slid it down her back and took an extra step forward so he was walking next to her. "Pretty dangerous area, are you lost or something?"

Raven was always on alert when she walked alone. Too many encounters with her own goddamn mirror wraiths had made her a very wary person to be around late at night. Also that was really one of the many things that kept her from making the smart choice and powering up to walk around at night, but that was a different story.
She hadn’t heard the approach of someone behind her, but that didn’t mean she hadn’t been expecting something to happen. How many times had she walked through here with nothing remotely interesting happening? Of course her luck had run out. When the hand touched her back, the blonde stiffened and looked to her side, raising a brow at the…strangely clad person who had taken it upon himself to walk beside her.
Hm. Her eyes moved up and down to take in his appearance and she shook her head, sighing. “I’m not lost. No. Just walking home. No big deal. I do the same thing every night, and normally I don’t have jerks like you trying to creep me out, thank you very much.”
With an outfit like that, and such a cocky attitude, she was guessing he was part of the Negaverse…either that or he had just come from a night at the circus, but that sort of made the bad attitude…ah whatever. She could handle the Negaverse. After all, nothing had broken the fact that they were allies yet, right?
Unless something had and just nobody had bothered to tell her. Which wouldn’t surprise her in the least.

"Jerks?" he challenged, with mock offense. "I wasn't trying to creep you out." Except, he was. "I just thought it strange that a pretty girl like you was walking around this area of town. I mean, you know it's dangerous, right? Between 'terrorists' and your general troublemakers. You're pretty enough that you make a pretty blaring target, so I just wanted to make sure you were okay. No need to get so hostile," he huffed.
Maybe he'd drain her energy anyway, who knew; though, he couldn't help but be amused with her attitude. Most girls were so jumpy, but this one had a fire inside her that interested him as much as it made him want to squash it out.

“You’re the one getting huffy. I wasn’t getting the slightest bit hostile.” She tossed her hair over her shoulder, continuing her walk. “And just so you know, I’m always prepared for the occasional trouble maker. I’m not just some pretty face that walks around looking for trouble, if that’s what you thought.”
She glanced at him, and gave a slightly amused smile. “Speaking of that, do you actually believe what the news says about all of those ‘terrorists’? I mean, shoot, with the clothes you have on, I have half a mind to think you might just be one of them. What kind of a person runs around in clothes like that, unless, perhaps you’re a circus clown.”
Raven gave a little snicker now, her mind just picturing all of the Negaverse agents as part of one grand circus. Well. It fit them, at least.

"Well, I thought you were a pretty face, but I'm not so convinced you're not just looking for trouble. Do you believe what they say about the terrorists? I don't really think the news gives you the whole story."
He shrugged. "But I'm not wandering around with guns and grenades, so I suppose I would really make that great of a terrorist, hmm? So leave my clothes out of it, they're a uniform. And they're not that bad."
A bit gaudy, a bit out of the wrong era, a bit not his style, but hell—he looked good in anything, right? So he made it work. "What about you, you believe in terrorists? You seem like you keep up with the news, so I suppose you must be educated on the matter. Fill me in? I mean, we've got time, right? You and I are headed in the same direction…"
Well, he wasn't really headed in any direction but hers; he had nowhere else to be, and if the conversation stayed interesting, it was a good way to pass the time. No rush to drain her. Anyway, her shirt was low cut enough that it gave him an even nicer view than her face; it would be a pity to waste that.

Uniform. Wow. He wasn’t really bothering to hide the fact that he was a part of something, even if it wasn’t the Negaverse. “Then, do you work at some strange dinner show? Or are you part of the circus? Because, hey. I’m not really one to judge. Not really, at least. And my not really, I mean I won’t go posting it all over the internet how strange I think you’re…uh. uniform is. Or maybe I will. Who really knows what I’ll do?”
“I used to keep up with the news, years and years ago, I had the uh. Fortune? Miss fortune? To meet a bunch of these terrorists up in space a few years ago. I don’t know if you remember that far back, but there was like. A ton of us just kidnapped and brought up to space. No big deal, I guess. s**t happens in this city I’ve come to find. And, sadly…that’s just the way it is. Though, I’m working on getting my a** out of this city, and into someplace…a lot better. Southern California has my name all over it, thank you very much. I’ll be moving on the seventh of January, and I couldn’t be more excited. Of course, nobody knows, but you, I suppose. So…congrats. You know my deep, dark secret.”
She kept walking and sighed. It hadn’t been difficult to share the information with a complete stranger. But what was going to happen when she finally told Jett? Not that it mattered. He hadn’t done anything to convince her to stay, and she did promise that she was going to leave if he didn’t step up. And he did not step up even a little bit.

He glanced over at her again, studying her face as she spoke. "Why are you keeping it a secret? Doesn't seem like there's anything so dark or deep about that. It's not like you killed someone or something. Fresh starts are always good. I was thinking about getting one myself, but," he shrugged.
"…Well, you know how things go. Settling into a world of complacency and being too blind to the stagnation to know that it's time to get out. Or something like that."
What did he know, he was just a bartender? With a decently paying job. He had thought about moving to spice things up, to get a new life. But the Negaverse had opened up those doors for him and he was playing around with that for now.
For now.
"So why Southern California, huh? What's driving you out of this city. Or, at least, what's making you keep it a secret? You got someone you're trying to hide from or something?"
What better reason to leave without saying anything? To leave without telling a soul? To just drop everyone and start anew?

She glanced at him, a small smirk forming on her face. “Nobody really important. Just my fiancé. I gave him a deadline. He had to turn things around by New Years Eve…and well. That’s tomorrow so uh. Failure, I think so.” Raven gave a little shrug and pulled her jacket closer, smirk giving way to a look of sadness. “I mean. It’s not like I didn’t expect this. I’ve had the job lined up for the past month, and I’ve been on the apartment waiting list for the past two. So uh. Yeah. I could have dropped both things if he would have just…done something. Anything.”
The blonde shrugged. “Boys are just dense and stupid. I think I’ll become a lesbian in California. That sort of thing is widely accepted there, and I think a lot of girls are madly attractive…so uh.”
She shrugged again. “Honestly, part of me wishes he would just decide to drop everything and come live out there with me, but yeah. He’s already said he’s not leaving this city because he lives here. Well, he can ******** live out there too, damnit.”
After a moment, Raven paused. “And I have no idea why I’m telling you all of this. So, I suppose I’m sorry, but you’re slightly easy to talk to, and you’re a guy, so. Maybe you can give me a clue as to what my dumbass fiancé is thinking. But if you say I’m a psycho b***h, just know I’m going to punch your crotch so hard, you’ll wish you were dead. Just a warning.”
Because, all guys knew the guy code. So maybe this was her big break.

Sanidine was both impressed and concerned at the heartlessness of the girl; leaving a fiancé without so much as a word? Gutsy. Kinda cruel, but hell, he didn't know the whole story. It left this girl with a pretty face and a mysterious past, and that was all he needed. Even if he wanted more.
"I wasn't going to call you a psycho b***h," he shrugged. "Thought never even crossed my mind. Of course, now I'm sort of regretting that I won't be seeing you around. I was just starting to think I'd found someone who might keep me interested in things. But go ahead, keep on talking. I won't stop you. Easier to talk to a stranger than someone who might run back to your man and tell him all of your plans, right? I don't imagine it's easy keeping all that bottled up. Not telling anyone. So if you're thinking about my crotch, maybe don't think about punching it. I can't explain your man's reasoning. Doesn't make much sense to me. If a hot girl tells you she wants to move to California and has everything lined up, sounds like a good idea to me. Sounds to me like he doesn't deserve you. Or he's having an affair."

Raven just grinned. “Well, if you’re regretting not seeing me around, you’ll be more than welcome to come visit me in California, if you so wanted to.” She gave the smallest little wink and kept walking. After a moment though, the blonde sighed. “He just is a damn mama’s boy and keeps complaining that he has a job here and boo hoo hoo. He could get a job there too, it’s not even like it’s a good job. He’s in retail. Big deal.”
She sighed, now feeling rather huffy. “He’s just a damn b*****d, that’s all there is too it. A right damn b*****d. And I’m leaving, he can come or he can stay. That’s all I’m saying.” Raven nodded her head and gave a little shrug.
It didn’t matter that she had just made a new friend…and still wanted a baby…she wanted out of the city more than any of those things, seriously.

Sanidine just kept walking next to her, careful not to let her get too far away. "California seems like a pretty big trip for someone to make. Wouldn't be able to do it in a night. Of course, if you'd be willing to give me a place to shack up, sure. I could come visit you. Seems like it'd be a damn shame to pass up that opportunity."
Road trip, to Cali? Yeah, he could go for that.
"Of course, if you're ever back in Destiny City, you'll have to hit me up. I make a damn fine cocktail. You'd be missing out if you died without trying it. Come to think of it, I could fix you up something nice if you wanted. Just to get your mind off of your boy problems. And I wouldn't charge you anything. Well," a sly grin spread across his face. "...Maybe just a kiss, if you've got one in you."
Taking advantage of a vulnerable girl with a boyfriend who didn't appreciate her? That wasn't too sleazy. Besides, she was going to leave town anyway; what better girl to share some affection with than one who wasn't going to call back in the morning?

“No, I don’t expect I’ll be able to do it in two nights, even. I’m budgeting four. I’ll be leaving on the seventh, and my job won’t start until the fourteenth, but I’ll be able to move in on the twelfth, so. I have it all planned out. If you have a cell phone number, I can text you my address. You can come and visit any time you’d like, you devil you.”
She shook her head, giving a small grin. “If I ever come back to this shithole, you better believe I’ll need copious amounts of alcohol in my system to blur the edges of just seeing this place…so yes. I would love to take you up on that offer.” At the mention of a kiss as payment for a drink right there, Raven paused, looking at him. “…And do you really think it’s a smart idea for little ol’ me to accept both a drink and a kiss from someone who I highly suspect is a part of the Negaverse? I mean, I’m quite sure I’d be crazy to accept…but…”
What the hell did she really have to lose? She had given negas her civilian identity before, Benitoite was one of them…and she was sure there were others. So. Eh. Whatever. “Sure. You can kiss me. As much as you’d like, I suppose.”

A sly grin spread across Sanidine's face and he couldn’t help but be amused. She was flirting with him, wasn't she? That was definitely what that was.
…Even if she knew what the Negaverse was. Was he supposed to care? …Did that make her a senshi, then? Or a knight?
Oh, no. Someone with a face that pretty couldn't be an enemy. Absolutely not, it was unheard of.
And if she was, he'd just kiss her until she couldn’t think about anything but joining them. Or until he got tired of kissing, whatever worked.
"I like that deal," he said, and he was grinning already. He planted his lips to hers shamelessly, and while he didn't make any effort to slide his tongue in yet, he was just testing the waters.
She had soft lips, so that said something about her. He'd kissed girls with chapped lips, either because they were dehydrated, or were too busy kissing that their lips were in a permanent state of distress. But her lips were well taken care of, and Sanidine took pride in the fact that she was wearing the ring of another man and still inviting him to kiss her.
But the real kissing would come later, this was just a sample. He drew away and winked after only a second, gesturing for her to follow. "Come on, pretty lady. There's a place right down here, I can mix you up something good. I'll wager my drinks taste better to you than your lip gloss does to me."

It was kind of nice to have another guy kiss her. A guy who seemed like he didn’t give any two shits about his cause. It was kind of refreshing. This was someone who just…liked getting around. But maybe not in the bad way. Maybe. Then again, she didn’t really care. Bridges were being burned, clearly. No strings now. No worries.
When the guy pulled away though, Raven gave a slightly confused look. That had been a pretty fine kiss…and now it was just over…and. Oh. Drinks. Yeah okay. “I hope you know, I’m still underage, even if my face and these boobs of mine make you think otherwise. I won’t be of legal drinking age for another seven months…not that that has ever stopped me in the slightest though. Lead the way. I’m ready for something really tasty.”
She winked then, going so far to allow a laugh. This was fun. This was almost what she figured California was going to be like. Handsome men buying her handsome drinks, getting her handsomely wasted and kissing her until she was handsomely giddy. It was going to be splendid.

"Not of drinking age?" Sanidine glanced back and whistled, eying her breasts and then her face again. She had invited him, of course, by bringing them into the conversation anyway. "I wouldn't have guessed. But I don't care, I'm not carding. What are they going to do—arrest me?" he asked, and laughed at the sheer absurdity of it.
He lead her effortlessly through the back alleyways and stopped at a door that looked like someone took great effort to keep it clean—even if it was just a back entrance. From his pocket, Sanidine pulled out a small piece of metal, which looked to be no more than a wire; he shoved it in the lock and wriggled it around for a moment until there was a very distinctive click. He put his hand on the doorknob and pulled; it swung open.
He was entirely pleased with himself; certainly lock picking must have looked like a good skill to have? But he wasn't as skilled as he lead on. He had simply locked himself out of the bar so many times that it became a necessary skill to have, even if only to avoid the two minute walk back to the front. He gestured for the blonde to follow him. "Come on in, the cameras are all off. The owner's on vacation and none of the workers are ever keen to stay later than they have to."
Himself included; he would have closed up an hour earlier if he could have, but a particularly drunk and well paying customer stayed late enough to have him reconsider. He was still out of there twenty minutes early.
Making himself at home, he planted one hand on the counter and hopped over it, instead of walking the extra fourteen steps he would have had to if her were in his other uniform, working. "You want to try anything special or do you want me to just whip you up something? I'm pretty good at guessing what type of drinks a girl wants."
