Quote: Several Ulaya had gathered together, today- was the day they needed all the help they could possibly get! The decorations needed to be put up for the festival. Everyone had gotten their friends and families and pairs were paired up to help organize the events, etc! It seems [ Titian ] and [ Salali ] were paired up to help hang the glowing ordiments!

Quote: During the rp, a hail storm threatens the arrangements and set up! One of your Ulaya get caught up and entangled from trying to get out of a tree they were putting up ordiments in!

Titian was usually not the type for such a gathering but her friends had convinced her to come with them and join in at least in the set up. She did like being helpful and figured at least this way she could be somewhat social with the excuse of focusing on the work at hand if someone annoyed her too much.
She approached the group that morning, happy of the extra fluff of her hair and tail in helping her keep warm. She was even more grateful when someone - in the spirit of the festival already - cheerfully wrapped a scarf around her neck. "Thank you," she said surprised by the gift.
"You're very welcome," the stranger said smiling before bounding away to welcome another helper, this one a male with unusual ears and tail.
"Excuse me miss," asked a second stranger who seemed to be organizing things. "How are you with climbing?"

Salali had been watching curiously as more and more ulaya began gathering in the valley. He stuck to his trees observing for quite some time until this morning when he finally decided to check out what was going on. He almost jumped when a female approached all smiles and offered him a scarf to keep off the chill of the morning. There was a crackle of static as she wrapped in around his neck. He mumbled an apology but she just laughed it off and skipped away to gather more scarves to greet the next group of approaching ulaya.
He looked around and spotted a brown female with a fluffy tail and charming hair with a streak of green. She also looked a bit confused and overwhelmed, so Salali began drifting over to her just as another of the organizers approached and asked her a question he couldn't quite hear, though he was close enough to hear when she responded.
"I'm pretty good, I guess. I really enjoy it and it does help when hunting to be able to get a good view," Titian replied, wondering why he needed an answer to such an odd question. Then she detected motion beside her and turned to see the rounded eared male approaching.
The questioner brightened, "Ah, good," he then turned to the Salali. "And you sir, how are your climbing skills?"
He blinked in confusion a moment, "I live in the trees," he replied with a laugh. "What does that tell you?"
A grin was the response to that. "Well if you two don't mind working together we have some strings of decorations that need to go up," and he waved a paw at the trees that surrounded the clearing.

Titian looked at the two males, then at the lights, and then the trees. She nodded slowly. "Ok. I think we can manage especially if he's as good in trees as he says."
"Wonderful. I'll leave it to you then! Once you have these up, just give a shout for some more. Or we can give you a different job if you're tired of the climbing from this one!"
Salali admired the female's slightly teasing reply. "Ok, we'll see how this goes," he replied to the organizer before he drifted away to talk to some more volunteers. Alone with the task at hand and a pretty partner in front of him, the squirrely male reached out a paw. "I'm Salali, and yeah I really do live in trees."
She looked at the paw for a moment before reaching out to shake. "Good to meet you Salali, I'm Titian." Introductions completed she turned back to focus on the task.
"It's probably going to take some effort to keep these from tangling," she said finally after staring at the string of lanterns. "Maybe if you take one end and get up into the tree and I'll feed the strand up to you as you go?"
"Sounds like a plan. Once I get my end secured up there you can go up the next one with your end." He waited until she nodded before taking hold of the first ornament and began climbing. It was a little awkward with the extra bulk and weight, but Titian was on top of things keeping the strand flowing as he made his way into the branches.
Titian watched and smiled, He really is quite the climber. She thought admiringly as she kept the ornaments from tangling. They'd be finished with this job in no time! Of course what neither of the confident pair had noticed were the ominous clouds rolling in....

By taking turns climbing up Titian and Salali managed a few trees before the wind picked up. As the storm swept in the other ulaya gathered up the remaining decorations and yelled for them to join them under cover. It was Titian that was up in the tree when the hail began to fall, pelting her as she reached higher to secure the last ornament of the current strand.
"Almost done this one!" Titian squinted her eyes and tried not to flinch as a particularly large chunk of hail struck her shoulder. "Come on just need to twist this one more bit of string." She finally got it secure and relaxed her paws to start her climb down when another chunk got her right between the eyes stunning her. Dizzy, not quite knocked out she lost her balance and fell, luckily though painfully her tail tangled in the branches and slow and finally broke her fall.
Salali had just let out a relieved sigh that they were finished when Titian was struck. He watched in horror as she started to fall. Not sure what to do he dashed to the base of the tree under her, maybe thinking he could break her fall. But her tail and branches had done that, he shuddered at the thought of the pain she was in. Quickly as he could ignoring the wind and hail, adrenaline flowing so that he didn't feel the larger impacts, he raced up the tree to her side.
He took in the tangle. Her tail was likely sprained and she was bleeding from the injury between her eyes. There was no way he could both untangle her and keep her from falling. "Titian. Please answer, I can't get you out of this without your help."
"I ... can... help... " she responded through the pain. "Just help.. me get... paws on .. branch." She opened her eyes enough to see him beside her.

With careful paws Salali guided her till she got a good grip on the branch below. Then he scrambled up to untangle her tail.
"Ok here we go. I'm sorry if this hurts but I'm going to have to move your tail a bit."
"Just get on with it, so we can both get out of this storm before we get any more hurt." Even with her blurred vision she'd noticed the cuts from the larger hail on Salali's body as well. Stupid weather ruining what had been a very enjoyable time using her talents for something other than the hunt. Then he started and the pain shot through her. She gripped the branch even more tightly which was a good thing since the branches above let her go so quickly she would have fallen otherwise.
Salali sighed with relief that she'd managed to secure her grip. Now to get them both down.... It was slow going but with him choosing the easiest path and Titian stubbornly fighting the pain she was obviously in they made it to the ground.
Some of the other workers had come out of hiding holding up a piece of canvas. "Come on get under. There's some healers under the main tent. We'll get you both patched up!"
Titian leaned heavily on Salali for support and murmered her thanks to the others and to Salali. "Glad we did this as a team."
"Yep, go team." Salali replied with a weak grin as he was starting to feel his own injuries now.
They both fell into the offered pillows as the healers fell upon them. All would be well now. Titian's tail would need to to be braced for a bit but would make a full recovery with care. "You might even be able to join in some of the dancing before it's all over," one of the healers said smiling before moving to tend some other cuts and scraps caused by the storm.
"That might be fun," she whispered to herself with an admiring glance at Salali before she drifted into a healing sleep.
