Other info: ① Mischievous ② Will do anything for treasure, including violence ③ Can be very charming ④ Cannot be trusted, except by those she is loyal to ⑤ Excellent liar ⑥ Has a tattoo on inside of arm of how many ships her singing has brought down ⑦ Not really mean, just selfish ⑧ Does not like pirates. At. All. ⑨ Considers herself a siren, but is loyal to siren/mermaid kind in general ⑩ Has a secret underwater cave used for hoarding treasure
Background info: Dess was originally a human, in the counter culture movement of the 1970s. But she grew tired of humanity. During a rare trip to the ocean, she came across a mermaid, who offered to turn her into one of the aquatic sea life. Dess agreed readily. She acclimated well, but keeps her past a bit of a mystery as she doesn't like to admit she was once human. Especially as she has a very apparent distaste for them. She's annoyed they're coming into the grotto and usually responds with biting sarcasm and surprisingly creative insults. But she does have the ability to turn other humans into mermaids, given her own state of transformation. Granted, they have to be willing, but she fully intends on doing it if she finds volunteers.
Other info: The only way to turn humans into mermaids involves reciting an oath (to be created later) with a little bit of magic.

Name: Yorath Gender: Male Species: Cecaelias or Octopus person
Background info: There are not many males of his species of sea monster, and monster indeed is what his kind has been branded with. Even though mermaids are sung and told of with warning from men who traverse the seas they are seemingly painted in a much more alluring light than those like Yorath. Often refereed to as "sea witches" they are seen as the outcast sea demons of the deep. This superstition even sometimes reaching fellow merfolk and creatures of the waters. While it is true that Yorath posses magical abilities he never intends to harm. Mishaps do occur at times, and nothing comes without a price. Just be certain that you know what you wish... Other info: Yorath can come off as somewhat cold and smug, due to his past of being outcast by others he will take his time warming up to others. Though once a common interest is discovered or something intriguing arises in an individual he will be much more considerate. Enjoys songs, stories, and art. Those ARE scales on his body and face. His mother was a mermaid. So he's really only half Cecaelian. Which might also explain why his magic often has unintended results.
Tektek: TekTek currently doesn't have many of these items. HOWEVER I did dress up my avatar and own all these items with the exception of needing one more Dirge of The Deep. I even used a male base! If you need an item list I will gladly add that onto this as well.

Hello all! I'll be doing your art this year, so I'm popping in to gather some more info so I have a better idea of what your characters are like and so I can get some of your guys' input, too. My next posts will be asking each of you specifically a few things about your characters and any additional ideas you might have.
As a general request, I'd like those of you who did your avatars in tektek to recreate it in the 'Customize Avatar' area and screenshot it so I can be sure the layering is correct- tektek likes to say some things are possible when they really aren't.

Background info: -Calypso is of a royal family, whom is the daughter of poseidon -She is a fair person, no matter what species a creature is of -Her other 6 sisters traveled to the other seas -She is one of the eldest daughters of poseidon -she loves the sunset -(MORE TO BE ADDED LATER)
Other info: She is general put as the leader of a "pack" or "club"

Given Calypso's royal heritage, would it be safe to assume her stature and expression would be controlled as part of her upbringing? And more broadly, can you give me an idea of how she acts towards others and what her personality is like? There's quite a bit of background, which is helpful, but I'm trying to infer how she might act based on it which doesn't always work.
Finally, if you do have any poses or expressions in mind, feel free to share them!
Dess is an angsty punk-rock rebel who hates most things. She was once human, turned mermaid. But now has an overall dislike for humans. She's normally the outcast of the group.

Given Calypso's background, she is controlled so thats correctly assumed. She is a civil, and a mannered person to others. She wont seem friendly sometimes to complete strangers, but to others who know her a bit she is nice, and loyal person. If put to a task, she will be the leader of the group, and is generally put in charge. Just your generally assumption of her should be fine, because its mainly based on her heritage of royalty. So its honestly up to you, i'm giving you artistic freedom mostly of how royalty would be like. Only thing is that you'll just need to feed me in after the sketch is done, so i can approve it and we can work more from there.

I had an idea if it might help you make a pose for calypso? If your doing like a full body art (like to the side of a post) then you could maybe do her sitting down on a throne with a a few of servents/sea creatures surrounding and a creature/servant can hold it out in front of her to have it roll out on the "floor" ? if you like that idea than some facial expressions could be like surprised or whatever
*hehe just in case you needed some inspiration for calypso, but this is totally up to you, i gave you artistic freedom (mostly ;D ) and i'll keep my promise 3nodding

I had an idea if it might help you make a pose for calypso?
