Personality:
Lively - Lyari is outgoing and full of all kinds of energy. This is most noticible when they go on adventures or hunts or even flying through the air.
Protective - He is very protective over his small family. Especially Kara.
Stubborn - Once set in his ways, it is very difficult to prove something otherwise to Lyari. For example...If he decides he doesn't like you it's very hard to win him over otherwise.
Curious - Lyari's curiousness leads Kara and him to go exploring a lot. This tends to get him into trouble as a young khehora as he goes places he should not go.
Distrusting - This mostly applies to strangers or those who have done his family harm. Much like Detraeus, Lyari will not trust those he does not know and it may take time to win him over.
Clingy - Despite being outgoing, Lyari can be extremely clingy to Kara at certain times. If he's feeling under the weather, or is hurt in the battle, he'll mostly just want to curl up close to her and let his head rest in her lap.
Biography/Background: Lyari was born to two ysali khehoras, deep in the Terra Expanse. He was the only egg to have survived his parents' nest. The others having not lived past a few days. Because of such, the two took great care to hide their precious egg from outside predators. They moved their nest, tucking it back in bushes and using their ysali magic to grow vines and various flowers around the egg to hide it, and mask its scent as well as they could, should they need to leave the nest alone for even a minute or trouble came for them.
It was on one of those days that Lyari soon found himself an orphan, still stuck in his egg. The ground rumbled under his parent's feet and they knew what was coming from them. Soon, their small piece of land was being invaded by four gaili dragons. They both fought, their ysali magic much stronger than the dragons would have probably ever anticipated. They managed to take down one of the gaili before Lyari's father became fatally injured. His mother fought on, wounding another of the gaili before finally being ambushed and dragged away.
It is a few days after this incident, that Kara happens upon the gory, bloody scene and happens to find Lyari's egg, still tucked away, by chance.
Thoughts on the Great Engagement: War is not something he knows about as far as magescians go. He's only heard bits and pieces about the so called "Great Engagement" from his magescian family. All he knows is that he would fight beside his family, no matter what they chose to fight for.
Thoughts on the Magescian Races:Orderites - It will be quite some time before he meets a full blood orderite. For the time being, he doesn't hold them in much regard. He will likely pick up the term 'bird' when referring to them, thanks in large to Detra's often enough use of it.
Oblivionites - His bonded's father is an oblivionite and despite having a temper at times, he seems like an ok person. This, along with maybe the occasional oblivionite when they travel into town and see Kilian, when visiting Lithian and Casseth, is the only exposurel he'll have for a while.
Dovaa - Kara's mother is a dovaa and, in a way, Lyari feels at peace the most when around other dovaas. Maybe it's their dragon like nature and connection to the elements that makes Lyari feel at such ease with them.
Hybrids - Unlike the majority of Magesc, it seems, Lyari sees hybrids as no different than the other races. He does not seem them as below anyone or anything and in fact, realizes that they have the potential to be stronger than any of the races alone. After all, they can choose both magic and an imprinted weapon. He is also close to at least two hybrids, with a wary trust for Casseth.
Thoughts on the Dragons and Khehora: Khehora - He is curious and interested in finding other khehora and learning of how they grew up. Despite being happy with his magescian family, Lyari will always yearn for that bond with other khehora.
Dragons - Lyari does not like dragons. When he is younger, it will mostly be out of fear. They *are* bigger than him, after all. Once he grows older and Kara tells him of how she found him, his fear will turn into something more along the lines of a hatred. He will never go off in search for trouble, as far as dragons are concerned, but nor will he ever hold back should he engage in a battle with one.
