So I was thinking about learning more from a Kemetic Orthodox stand point. I checked out the forums and saw they had a free beguinners class. Unfortunetly I do not have a computer and am unable to take the class. Can smeone explain what KO is? I know the history its posted on their forums. When I asked on following the sun free forums I was told its a revivalistic type religion so they dont really stick to a reconstruction path but they arnt Egyptian Wicca either. I was then told by Devo if I was going to ask questions about KO to not ask so there. I told her if she didnt have the answer then fine dont answer but I was talking to someone from KO and recieved answers from them. My main concern was the whole King thing and why they wanted personal info like full name and address and phone number. (I had a bad experiance with scientology) If its a free class why do you need my phone number? I was told to prevent bots from signing up. Lol I didnt know bots were such a huge problem...Anyhow if anyone can kind of explain what exactly KO is that would be great.

I'm not a member of the Kemetic Orthodoxy so I may be wrong but this is my view of it.
The reason Devo probably told you not to ask about it on the Following the Sun forum is because there is quite a bit of hate for the KO there. Tut had to lock down and delete quite a few threads on the subject (even Devo's own thread that she was using to try to clear up misconceptions a lot of Following the Sun members had). Even Tut herself is still convinced that the KO is a dangerous cult.
The very basics would be that the KO is a branch of Kemeticism that has a temple and a very large online presence. And because of this online presence they have international members. They are considered revivalistic in nature. They use more modern rituals rather than reconstructed ancient ones. Senut and their Rite of Parent Divination are two well known examples. They don't cast circles or have their Lord and Lady and that is why they wouldn't fall under Egyptian "Wicca."
I'v dramallama e heard mixed stories on whether or not Tamara actually claimed to have the kingly ka or not. But either way for an organization as large as the KO they would still need some kind of leader. Tamara, their current Nisut, was the founder of the KO with levels of clergy under her. Best way I can compare it is kind of like in Cathalism with the Pope and the Bishops and the priests and whatnot.
Bots are a big problem on the net. Being on Following the Sun you've might have seen some of the threads that were started by bots. Blogs are also targets of bots (leaving spam comments). And the thing about the free class is that it's an introduction to what the KO is and its a start toward being initiated into that branch with limited spots per class (the need to filter bots).
The Kemetic Orthodoxy isn't for everyone. It's not for me. There is a large case of group think that I've seen and I want no part of it.

Ok. I still want to try out the beguinners classes and see what its like but so far from lurking in the forums I am unimpressed. What kind of negative things did you see? If its too personal a question please just say so and decline to answer. You wont sway me from taking the class as I have always been a find out for yourself kind of person.

I've been told by members that if I don't hold the view that the different deities are just different names of the overarching godhead that I was wrong.
The belief that (at least) Kemetics cannot have anything other than a parental relationship with deities. Someone had asked about godspouses earlier in the year and the majority answer was "Ew why would you want to have sex with your parents."
I don't remember the exact details because this was years ago but I'm pretty sure the KO is not a safe place for people that call themselves Otherkin.
And to me it seems like the members have halfassed research for it being lead and founded by an Egyptologist. Not saying it's on part of Tamara but that lower down in the hierarchy the shittier their research. But part of that is a side effect of wanting a historically informed practice.
There was also drama over wording stuff when a person becomes a Shesmu-Ankh. Something about how when you become one you take an oath to put the netjru before all others but yet Tamara is a hypocrite because she's a priestess of the lwa (forgetting what the title is) and how she's breaking an oath somewhere to either the netjru or the lwa because one of them has to come before the other and this that and the other. I don't know a whole lot about Voodoo. So I don't know if it's really true or not. I just don't like being around drama.
I think there were other things but the first point was the thing that really pushed me away from taking the class. Even out of curiosity.

You cant even be hard poly? Wow....and I knew about the voodoo thing. Thats where the parent divination comes in. My concern was all the info they want for the beguinners course like phone number, spouses name, pets names...I come from a Wiccan background and thats alot of info that can help target a person in a spell. If shes using voodoo...well thats info I dont want in a practitioners hands if I dont agree with them. . That and the whole King thing bothered me.
