There were carols on the radios around town, from the Mall to the small place Emily had gone for last minute shopping, but she hadn't expected a monster to attack her.

Then again that did fall in line with her luck, and she'd ended up running down the street, moving as fast as possible and hoping for some way to bash the monster upside it's skull, or maybe at least slow it down. Part of her wished Canopus was around and part wanted to live long enough to try making some way to protect herself from these, but she seemed to lack the special whatever so many seemed to have to fight, and it was both fear and anger that kept her adrenaline high enough to keep running blocks after she began, grumbling at the sheer bad luck of being alone so often. She REALLY needed to make more fri3nds in town.

She didn't like her luck by herself anymore.

If anyone had told Emily in the weeks after she learned that Cas was Zippeite, that Zippeite would save her from one of the things she'd been snapped at about/ran into before, she probably would've laughed them in the face with a low, cold laugh and called them daft. Luckily, they hadn't, and instead she was on the business end of a rescue from the same person who, weeks - a month or two? - before had given a warning drain and chased her off.

Whomever said girls were confusing did not know how this boy thing worked. Emily didn't know how this boy thing worked - or, well, how her old friend worked, and a squeak of surprise caught her off guard as she adjusted to try (and failing) to match Helicon's pace, blinking bewilderedly.

Well, it could've been worse. She could've thrown a loafer at the youma - she had worn her suit to look more impressive to the throngs and to thus try getting through more easily, after all.

"Uh." Emily did manage to speak, listening to the youma tearing after. "Hi. I think my existance pissed something off again."

Emily glanced to him warily.

"I'm still trying to work out a counter. Eventually?"

Was thuis a pity move? Normally she's complain but she wasn't going to look a gift-horse (Gift-Cas?) in the mouth.

Especially not once that could easily turn her into Negverse munchies or some sort of villian target. Heeeell no.
