 Melody, a cat anthro, was in her room at the orphanage having just seen another kid be adopted in time for Christmas. Melody grabbed a picture of her father, mother and big brother, all of whom were murdered by a man from a gang due to a misunderstanding. Tears started forming in her eyes. "Why did you guys leave me?" She said missing them more than anything. As she cried she hugged the picture. All she wanted for Christmas, was someone to love her and help her. She'd been here since she was two and now being five, she thought no one wanted her. Soon she had cried herself to sleep and had the picture of her family in her little hands.

 As little Meldoy was laying her bed, sound asleep, a man was walking into the building. He looked around the room and then smiled a bit as he could see some of the little ones running around and playing. This mans name was Dudley Michael Williams, and he was here to look for a little one to call his own. It has been a year sense he lost his wife and daughter in a car wreck caused by a drunk driver. He spent most of that year covered in sadness, but it didn't stop him from doing his work. He was a well known lawyer, who wasn't only good at his job, he was one of the best in the area. Dudley finally came to the choice to try and start a family, but wasn't ready for part of finding a new mate. So his thoughts took him to the other part of having a family, raising a little one. So that is why he was hear today. Dudley walked up to one of the owners and spoke with him. After he told him what he was looking for, the man walked around the building showing him so of the dog like children thinking that is what Dudley wanted. After seeing all of them, and even some that were not part dog, Dudley was finding it hard to pick a child, thinking that they all needed a good home. At this point, that is when he came across the room Melody was in. "Why didn't you show me her?" Asked Dudley. The man looked at him and sighed as he crossed his arms and looked over to Melody. "Because sir, she has been here for three years and no one wanted her... so I just though..." He was stopped by Dudley holding up his hand. He then walked into the room and looked around it to see some of the girls drawings seeing that most of them where of who he guessed was her with some other people. "Most be her family..." He looked over to Melody and then walked over to the bed and sat down on it. The whole time the owner was at the door just to make sure Dudley didn't do anything. Dudley smiled as he then reached over and gently patted Melody's shoulder. "Hello little one, what is your name?" As he said that he looked down her with a smile on his face. ((how was that? It has been a while sense I played a character like this. I hope I did well XD))

Melody rubbed her eyes as she heard someone talking to her. When she saw Dudley she got shy. "I-It's M-Melody. What's your name?" She said shyly as she looked at him. She had the photo of her family in her little hands. It was the only thing she had left of them besides her memories. "Are you going to adopt me mister?" She asked looking up at him while waiting for his answer to her first question and hoping that for once things would be in her favor. She just wanted a home in time for Christmas. Being a cat, she was a little bit scared but Dudley seemed nice enough. She smiled a bit hoping he was going to adopt her and take her home. Jin Justice ((It was so perfect! Lol.))

Dudley smiled as he watched her wake up and then placed his hand on his lap as she looked up at him. He found it cute that she was acting shy with him, he felt that it was fitting for a cat to act this way. Dudley then looked down to the picture that was in her little hands and saw the family. He noticed that the pictures that she drawled look a lot like the one that was in her hand. He snapped out of it when she asked him his name and smiled as he looked at her. "Well little Melody, my name is Dudley Michael Williams, but you can just call me Dudley." He said with a smile as he looked at her. After that, she had asked him the question of if he was going to adopt her, he smiled a little more as he reached over and patted her head gently. "Well Melody I came here today to look for a son or daughter, and I think I found the perfect one." He then picked her up with both hands and then held her up with one arm. "Would you like to come home with me?" As he asked this, the owner looked into the room and was surprised that after a long three years, Melody finally found a home.((thanks, I am glad that you like it :3))

"Yes please." Melody said smiling at him. She then hugged Dudley. She was excited but nervous at the same time. Once her stuff was packed, and the papers were signed, Melody took her stuff and placed it in the trunk of Dudley's car and climbed into the seat in the back. "Mr. Dudley, do you have any animals living wif you?" She was curious about this as they were driving home. She asked this as they were getting onto the highway towards his home. She was hoping he had some kind of pet that she could play with as she loved animals of all kinds.

Dudley smiled as he hugged her back and then patted her head gently. "Alright then you are coming home with me." After he said that he helped her get packed before getting the papers taken care of. Once they were in the car and head back to his home, he looked back to her for a second before looking back ahead of them to the road. "Why yes Melody I do have a pet, it is a doberman named Rex. Now he may seem a little scary at first, but Rex is a big softy I know you will just love." After he said that he looked back to her with a smile before looking back ahead of them. After a little bit more of driving, he pulled up to his home then got out of the car with her. "Ready to see your new home sweetie?" As he asked he held his hand out for her to take as his other hand held her suitcase.

Melody nodded and said "Yes sir." She was a bit nervous but could tell that Dudley loved her already. She then held his hand hoping Rex would like her. Once inside, they were greeted by a barking doberman. Melody jumped a bit and hid behind Dudley shyly. Rex stopped barking sensing the little girl was scared. Melody peeked out from behind Dudley before she smiled at Rex and reached out for him to sniff her hand. She loved animals and wanted to be friends with Rex. Melody smiled at Rex hoping he would want to be her friend.

Dudley had chuckled a bit when she hid behind his leg and then looked down at her. "Don't worry sweetie." He then patted her head gently as he got down on one knee to look at Rex. "Rex, this is Melody, she is my new daughter okay? I want you to treat her like you would family." Rex looked at him with his one good eye, for the other one had a scar over it from a fight he got in with another dog many years ago. He then looked down to Melody when she reached her hand out to him. Rex sniffed her hand for a second before then nuzzling her hand gently. "See, he likes you." Said Dudley as he patted her head once more. After he did that he stood back up as Rex then went to his side. Dudley had now picked up Melody, and seeing that she was small enough, put her on Rex's back. "Let's show you the house starting with your room." After he said that he walked upstairs with Rex behind him and Melody on his back. Once they got to the room Dudley looked around and then back to Melody with a chuckle. "Now, it doesn't look much like a little girls room, but that will change once we go out to get you all new stuff for your room." He said with a warming smile on his face.

Melody smiled as Rex nuzzled her hand and started to pet him gently. "Good boy." She said smiling as she was picked up and rode on his back upstairs. She was having fun. When she saw her room she went wide eyed and had a happy smile on her face. "It's so pwetty!" She said smiling as she went to look around the room and try out the bed. She then sat on the bed happily and giggled as it was really comfy. Then she got her suitcase, and got out a picture of her parents and big brother. She set it on her nightstand as it was inside of a white dinged frame. SHe then hugged Dudley saying "Thank you Mr. Dudley!" She was really happy and excited.

Dudley watched her as she went into the room, and then looked down to the photo that she put on the nightstand. He knew that getting over her family being gone, but he hoped that he could help her feeling happy with he rknew home. When she hugged him and said thank you for this, he just smiled as he placed one arm around her and patted her head with the other hand. "You don't need to thank me sweetie, that is what I am here for." As they did this, Rex was sitting in the middle of the room as he looked at them. Dudley smiled as he then took a step back before getting down on one knee. "Now, would you like to see the rest of the house? Or do you want Mr. Dudley to make you something to eat." After he said that he patted her head again with a big smile on his muzzle.

"Let's finish looking pwease." Melody said happily as she purred a bit as her head was patted. She liked Dudley already and hoped that one day she could be as good a daughter as he wanted. Then she looked over at Rex and smiled as she went over to him and pet his head. They were about the same size in height showing that she was small for her age. She giggled as Rex licked her cheek and wagged his tail. Melody hugged Rex happily.

"Alright, lets go check out the rest of the house." He said with a smile as he then placed her on Rex's back again. Once he did this, he started to walk out of the room with Rex right behind him. "First off, my room is right down the hall just in case you need anything okay?" As he said that he stopped in front of his door and pointed at it with a smile. He then walked with them to the living room that was right next to the kitchen. "Here we have the living room with a large tv if you ever wanted to watch anything like cartoons or something like that. And over there is the kitchen where you can get something to eat at anytime." He then reaches down and pats Rex's head. "Cause I know someone already does." Rex looked up to him and barked a bit before they started walking again. Dudley then walked over to the back down and looked outside to show a nice back deck, a grill bit for bbq, and a large pool in the back yard. "Do you know how too swim sweetie? If not me and Rex can show you." Dudley said this with a smile as he patted her head.

"I can swim wif fwoaties." Melody said sweetly as she looked up at Dudley with a smile on her face. She hugged Rex petting his head gently as she rode on his back. She liked Rex and Dudley very much. After they finished looking around, Melody was playing with Rex throwing a ball for him and Rex would bring it back to her happily making her giggle every time he would lick her cheek. "Good boy Rex." She said hugging Rex gently and happily. She loved having an animal friend around. She didn't feel as lonely as she did at the orphanage. She was glad to have a family in time for Christmas, even if there wasn't a mommy around. She loved Dudley and Rex very much though she fell asleep on Rex around 2:30 pm as she was sleepy from all the excitement.

When Melody said that he smiled as he looked down at her and patted her head. "Well, I will be sure to get you some floaties before you go swimming." After he got done with showing her the house, he was in the kitchen making something for them for lunch. He would look over and see her playing with Rex which made him smile. Rex remember Dudley's little girl and did miss her, but Melody made him happy. When she had fallen asleep, Rex smiled as he snuggled with her on the floor in the living room. Dudley came into the room with food for him, Melody, and Rex, but when he saw she was asleep he just chuckled. He walked over to the coffee table in the living room before walking over to Melody and Rex. "Come on boy." Dudley said this as he patted Rex's head then picked Melody up. After he did this, he walked over to the couch and laid her down so she could rest her head on a pillow. Once he did this, he placed a blanket over her and sat down on the couch with Rex laying on the floor in front of the couch. After getting all set up, Dudley looked down at the sandwiches he made and then looked to Melody. "She can eat when she wakes, she did have a big day." He then turned the tv on ,turn the volume down low and started to watch a movie.

Melody woke up about an hour later and rubbed her left eye sleepily. She got off the couch and pet Rex gently smiling as she waited for Dudley to wake up from his nap. She was giggling at his sot snoring. "He's silly." She said to Rex softly before she got onto the couch and use her blanket to cover Dudley and kissed his cheek softly like her mommy used to do for her when she fell asleep. Then she started to eat her sandwich quietly smiling happily as she sat with Rex as they ate.
