" Welcome to the Seshiro Family Christmas Party, hosted by Rei and Jasmine! Your greeter for the evening will be Shingotsu. She is sitting at a podium just inside the front door, and is the first to have served herself some food." " Speaking of food, there is a huge buffet spread out, including Jasmine's Famous Chicken and Cheese Cookies! Dishes from all over the world have been presented as well, including offerings from every inhabited continent on earth. Tables stretch from one side of the door all the way around the walls of the restaurant to the other side of the door. And the deserts have yet to be placed, so this is hardly all the food we have ready for you!" " The rest of the tables have been arranged throughout the open space, with several chairs around each. Christmas decorations abound, from lights to banners, and themed table cloths on every table. The smell of the place is that of ambrosia. Rei has set every dish out with a distinct understanding of how the smells mingle, keeping dishes that clash WELL away from each other. This has created a smorgasbord of delightful, savory smells in a conga line around the walls." " All races are welcome! There will be NO fighting here, and so help me god, if anyone starts anything, they will be banished to an alternate dimension with nothing but THIS for company! With that in mind, enjoy the party and please try all the food!"

  XXX There was always something rather pleasant about the holiday season. A lot of people in the Seireitei had taken to following after human traditions and there were the occasional buildings adorned with bright glittering lights. Quickly making her way over to where she had been told to go, Tatsumaki would only pause when she noticed that it had begun to snow. The small girl would smile a little and tilt her head up toward the sky to watch the small flakes dance in the air. Soon a small layer of them had gathering on her hair and clothing and she began to shake. It probably wasn't a wise idea to stay out in the cold for too long. Hurrying on her way she would pass a couple of other guests who were making their way over to the party, but she didn't quite recognize them. Nonetheless she would offer them smiles and a quiet, polite greeting. "K-Konbanwa.."Once inside she would sigh in relief, finding the room pleasantly warm. Held securely in her hands was a japanese Christmas cake, which really just a simple sponge cake with strawberries decorated festively. Even though she was a guest so thought it might appear rude to turn up empty handed but now looking around she felt a little silly. There was food in practically every corner of the room, so she probably would have been more helpful if she hadn't brought anything. "Ah.." Timidly the girl would go set her cake down where she could find room for it, then backed up to go find a place to sit. Normally she would have waited for her Captain before leaving, but he had seemed busy and she hadn't wanted to bother him. Before anything else though, Tatsumaki had to make sure to greet her hosts. Even though she couldn't find Rei at the moment, the young woman sought out Jasmine and bowed to her. "Th-Thank you very much for doing this. E-Everything looks l-lovely."[ OOC: I haven't done a holiday themed rp in so long. I missed it. = u = ]

Kimi sat atop the roof near a corner of the restaurant. She had cleared a small spot for herself free of snow using her Zanpakuto. She was excited for the party, but she was eager to see her cousin Misaki. She wanted to be the first one to greet her when she arrived. There was a Morning glory pinned behind her left ear, and she tapped it gently. Hopefully her cousin could feel she wanted to talk, and might speak through the flower soon.
Isaac had located himself out back, beside Hinata, tinkering intently with some contraption of his behind the house. Hinata watched with mild interest as he did, standing a foot or two back with her head tilted to one side. After a second, she looked up at the clock and about choked on air. "Isaac, buddy, will you tell your mom and dad I went to go and get Eko?" Isaac nodded, unable to spare the time respond properly, but Hinata wasn't offended. She knew her nephew well, and left him to his work. Quietly and quickly, she left and made for Eko's house. [[Exit Hinata.]]
Rei was still working in the kitchen on the deserts, churning out the last few intently. He took them from the oven and into a freezer quickly, wanting to get them all done as quickly as he could. He had his head in the freezer when Sapphire asked if he needed any help, and had therefore not heard her. He had a problem hearing over white noise, like the humming of a freezer motor, for example. Sapphire knew this, and would hopefully wait to ask again until his head was out of the freezer.
Shingotsu sat at the Hostess Podium near the entrance, smiling widely at those who entered. First and foremost was Tatsumaki. She had yet to meet the girl, or see much of her, but she seemed a lovely girl. Shy though, she remember, so she let the girl bypass her for Jasmine. Shingotsu did, however, motion to Jasmine over Tatsumaki's back that she wanted to see her when Jasmine was done greeting her.
Hinanji appeared outside, a few blocks away, walking lazily to the party. He stopped at the edge of a building a block or so away when he spotted Sango admiring some trees. She was stunning, he thought to himself. In that moment, he desired nothing more than to go to her and speak something sweet to her, but it was not his place, nor was he one for romantic speech or sentiment.

 Squad One Four Captain: Jisaku MorimotoThe next to arrive was Jisaku, who was carrying a fair number of gifts in each hand. But to his surprise, his lieutenant, Tatsumaki, had arrived before him. "Good evening, party people," Jisaku announced. He then walked around to see the cake in Tatsumaki's hands. "Ooh! That looks really nice!"

Normally, she wasn't one to celebrate the holidays, but she wasn't going to say no to a giant-a** buffet. So she whipped up a little something which she dyed red with Hollow blood. "Are you going in or not?"

Squad 12 Captain Ayumi walked on in with her hands in her sleeves with the pigtails on her head bobbing with each step as she strolled on in, slight smile on her face and a little thought on her mind. "Hi Jisaku" she chimed as she walked on by and made her way to the party to nab something to eat. Pulling a present from her sleeve she held it as she stood before some of the foods with her stomach rumbling and smiled slightly as she looked up and around at the people here.
She's happy.

She's going to be the death of me ALl he had wanted was to do his paper work and finish it and who knew what else? BUt once again, Hinata was forcing him to 'socialize' . Eh... He enjoyed it though. Rosa trailed happily behind Carmellia, trying to reach out and grasp her lover's arm. She stopped as Carmellia did, taking the opportunity to wrap her arms around Carmellia's left arm. She laid her head on the purple haired woman's shoulder, obviously content to be at a party with her. "Hey Anapa. I see you finally relented to wearing shoes?" She smiled gently, and almost mockingly at the man. His ability to turn all dirt to sand was troublesome in places like this, but with his shoes on, it didn't happen. Less property damage that way.
Hinata, in the meantime, was dragging her antisocial Captain out of a portal of his own making just beside the door of the restaurant. "And I thank you very much for that... I'm sure Rei and Jasmine are ecstatic to see you too. And look, there's Kimi on the roof! And Shin in the doorway! They all want to say hi... and Shin misses bugging you like she did when we were all younger. So quit being a shut in and live a little!" She smiled and kissed his cheek quickly and gently before baking off and straightening his jacket a little.

Squad Four Captain: Jisaku Morimoto"Oh!" Jisaku stood aside as Ayumi just strolled on by like she didn't have a care in the world. He then spotted the innocuous gift wrapped box she had procured from her sleeve and briefly looked at Jasmine and Tatsumaki. "Please excuse me." He then hiked up the stack of gift boxes in his hands and followed the diminutive Captain over to the buffet table. "So...ahem...Ayumi...I notice you brought a little something with you."

XXX After greeting Jasmine, Tatsumaki would turn to bow to her Captain, smiling shyly at the comment on her cake. "T-Thank you very much, Captain Morimoto." As he dismissed himself she would nod and wave, moving aimlessly through the room. Her slow tour of the place led her toward the back where a somewhat familiar person was still at it in the kitchen. Rei was a man that she'd only seen occasionally in the Seireitei since he was retired and spent most of his time in his store. "U-Um.. W-Would you like some help?" It would be a shame if he were to miss all the festivities because he was too busy doing this. Besides, Tatsumaki was quite content with preoccupying her time like this for a little since interacting with new people was a bit of a struggle for her. Noticing that a younger girl was standing beside him, the small Lieutenant would tilt her head a little. The girl seemed to share some of the same characteristics as Rei and Jasmine, so she assumed this was their daughter. [ OOC: x ]

Squad 12 Captain Ayumi looked back smiling slightly and put her little gift with Jisaku where it seemingly got lost and pecked him on the cheek with a kiss and stood there. "Its yours as well as mine ... one sec" she said meaningfully as she looked away and bowed her head slightly to Lieutenant Hyousetsu who was Squad 4's Lieutenant now, someone she knew and was a sweetheart. "Tatsumaki Glad to see you, Lieutenant Mmm? Oh the time flies .. I'm proud of you, mhm" she nodded slightly with a smile, trying to contain her excitement of seeing her successor as Lieutenant since she held that seat for a long time in her days of constant injuries..

It's Christmas but it just doesn't feel like Christmas to me.
What is this Christmas you speak? What is Chocolate?
Jasmine also greeted Tatsumaki in return and smiled as she walked away. Then she realized the girl that she was headed for the Kitchen, and went to prevent Rei accidentally alienating the girl. Sapphire, as it was, understood her Father hadn't heard her, and just smiled a little. when Tatsumaki walked in and offered help as well, she smiled happily. "I think you'll need to wait a second. He's got his head in the freezer. In the meantime, I'm Sapphire Seshiro, pleased to meet you!" She extended her hand and smiled, waiting for woman to take it an shake it in return. A few seconds later, Jasmine walked past the both of them and booted Rei into the freezer. "Rei! Your daughter is talking to you! And Tatsumaki is here to say hi as well! Hey... can you hear me?" She looked down at him pensively, unsure whether or not he could hear her. But, stuck in the freezer from the waste up, he extended his hand out and gave a 'Thumbs Up', followed by his pointer finger going up and his thumb folding in, giving a 'One Second' gesture. "I'll ask Isaac to fix the freezer later. The motor is too loud, and it will make you deaf one of these days. Anyway hun, I'm going to go and see to the guests, alright?" She tapped his back and smiled at Tatsumaki and Sapphire before walking off.
Cedric watched as Jisaku and Ayumi caught up with one another and then turned back to his book. He had shifted two of the tables far enough to fit himself and a chair into a corner. He wasn't a party person, for one. And secondly, he had been tasked by his Father to keep Carmellia from going nuts on the buffet, if she showed up. Though he stood up for a minute before things got going, as he knew they would, and walked over to Jisaku and Ayumi. "Hey Uncle Jisaku, Aunt Ayumi. Nice to see you two. And Aunt Ayumi, it's nice to see you smile like that. It's rare, these days." He then bent down to give Ayumi a hug. He slipped a small box with a tag on it, signed by himself, and his other siblings, into her pocket. It was light, so she wouldn't notice it very quickly. He stood up and did the same to Jisaku. He was smooth, when he wanted to be.
Anapa turned around to Carmellia and Rosa, and almost glared at Carmellia, but then thought better of it. He wasn't afraid of her in the slightest, but when he thought of the glorious sweets that this "Rei" person made, by Carmellia's own words, he calmed down considerably. "Well, at least I don't wear such revealing outfits ever day of my life. And I can't help it. If I touch dirt, it becomes sand. More importantly, how do you two wear these things?!?! My feet feel so cramped!!! And sweaty! My feet are begging me to rip these things off!" He was looking down at his feet and giving tentative steps back and forth. He was completely ill suited to wearing shoes in the slightest.
I hope everyone is enjoying the Christmas Party this year!
Now time for a night of some drinks and hope for something later.
Sapphire leave me to my book! I'll party when I want too.
Augh.. Sometimes I wonder if we are family!
I guess I can't get into the Christmas spirit this year. I should maybe leave?

Suddenly, he was kicked into the freezer, and all Rei could think was, Not the cake!!! He of course couldn't say this, however, as his face landed squarely in a Devil's Food cake, covered in two layers of chocolate icing. He stood there for a minute, trying to clear his eyes of frosting with his bare hands, but to no avail. Eventually, he pulled himself out of the freezer and turned to look where he could feel Sapphire reiatsu, and that of Tatsumaki. He wasn't familiar with the later, but enough that he could tell it was her. He fumbled towards the sink and turned it on. He lowered his face into it and attempted to wash off as much of the frosting as he could.
When he raised his head, there was still frosting beside his ears, and down around his chin line. "Oh umm... what's up? Oh, help? I'd love it, but wouldn't you two rather be enjoying the party? Wait... Tatsumaki-san, isn't it? Nice to meet you formally! You have a food handler's license, right?" He handed her an apron, and motioned to Sapphire to grab hers from the wall. "There's only a couple of things left to Ice and decorate, so pick something that isn't finished out of the freezer and go to town!" He himself started in decorating his replacement Devil's Food Cake. Something always happened to the first one he made, so he had learned that a replacement was essential. "Sorry about the unusual greeting there. I'm not the most formal guy there is, but that one was unique even for me." He gave a little chuckle and looked quite unperturbed by the fact that his wife had kicked him into a freezer not five minutes before.

"I actually have something for you too," he added, handing her a little parcel on the bottom of his stack. Right afterward, Cedric decided to join in and give Ayumi a hug. "Nice to see you too, Cedric. Oh, and these are for you and your siblings." Jisaku handed him the rest of the parcels just as Cedric slipped something under his haori. Carmellia felt Rosa's arms around her left arm and lay her head on his just in time to watch Anapa gripe and complain about wearing shoes. He was lucky. He doesn't have to worry about stepping on something sharp. He could just turn whatever nails or pieces of broken glass he comes across into sand. "Let's just go inside," Carmellia said, planting a kiss on Rosa's cheek before heading inside. Almost immediately, she was greeted by the alluring aromas of various delicious foods and her gaze immediately fell on the snack table before she felt her lip twitch. "Someone hold me back!" Right off the bat, Carmellia started charging for the snack table like a guard dog that just broke free of its leash. ((Your move, Ceddy!))
