Starset was formed by the Atlas world council prior to the arrival of Thanatos in the system, originally created as a military police force to quell well known smugglers, slavers and other such criminals from using Atlas as a base of operations. Within the first year they had arrested most of the criminal bosses, proving that not only could they keep Atlas safe but were a force to be reckoned with deterring any further criminal activity. With the arrival of Thanatos, the world council could no longer be trusted to lead Starset due to polictal conflicts, so they detached themselfs from the world council and began to lead themselves with the sole purpose of keeping Thanatos from gaining control.
