The first androids to appear on Atlas came with the Terran two centuries ago, they were a primitive design looking more robotic than they do now, back then they were little more than servants. Over time they began to look more like Terrans and Nerians, advanced programming gave them a sense of free will allowing them to fill various roles from combat to medical assistance and so on. Not every android is created with this free will, many are created just to fill a specific role and not much else.

The original inhabitants of Atlas, the Nerian is a omnivorous, amphibious race, able to adapt to almost any environmental change quickly and thrive within this new situation. They are a rather short race standing at 5'4 on average, with a lifespan of around 150 years. When the Terrans first arrived two millennium ago the Nerians had very few human features but as time passed, and the two races came together, they started to look more and more human. Their skin is covered with very tiny placoid scales which allow them to swim much faster than most other races, since they're so tiny it's almost impossible to feel them. They have either a very pale or grayish skin tone, their eyes very dark sometimes black and their lungs have evolved to filter oxygen within water allowing them to breathe deep in the ocean.
