He had known the training was going to be tough but he hadn't expected his brother to be the one training him. Bulkier than he was (having lived his life on a farm doing hard labour) Ashta was also short on patience or pity. The two brothers were having a heck of a time trying to work together, with Ashta yelling at him when he couldn't pick up even the lighest of sheilds to harassing him when he was resting. As it was the poor man was only able to get relief late at night and due to that he could only use his medicinal powder sparingly.
He shared his bedroom with his brother after all so he would of been rather suspicious about his behavoir. His muscles ached and his mind was frayed, he was getting grouchy snapping at his brother and wanting to get violent with him. In fact they had a bit of a scuffle at there last training session only to be shamed by his mother and father who only wanted the best for their sons.
In fact today they were going to meet with a woman who was looking for a body guard for her son. Kyruie wasn't ready of course to do such a task but he had to be present to give a good first impression. They were both dressed smartly, with more clothing that he had worn in the last several years There was more muscle on him as well, though he looked rough around the edges like an wild animal that was cornered and he wasn't entirely sure if he was safe.
His mother was running about trying to make sure everything was in place, while his father and brother preened themselves to make sure that they looked respectful.

"We really don't need to do this." Tera murmured, looking toward his mother as the woman led him along, toward where he would be meeting with the man that could very well be his babysitter from now on. It was something he'd been trying for some time now to talk her out of, but the best he'd been able to do was to get her to hold back for a time. Postponing the meeting for a time, but he was unable to get out of it completely. He would be meeting with the man, something he couldn't avoid, and it was something that was grating on him. Lifting a hand to rub his temples he could almost hear the voice in his head laughing at him mockingly. The voice didn't have to deal with his mother, leaving that completely up to Tera, probably a good thing though, if the woman knew she'd likely flip out.
No, he'd tried already to explain to her that he wasn't 'quite right' as he'd lightly put it but again she refused to listen. It was as though she refused the idea altogether that anything could be wrong with Tera. He'd been gone for many years, she'd finally gotten him back, and se refused to see anyone but her perfect child, or at least perfect in her mind's eye that was. He wondered if he was ever so good a child when he was younger that he could have fit the ideal image that she'd turned the memory into. It was something that had him sighing a bit.
The woman turned to him, starring at him for a moment, before stepping closer to brush back his hair, straighten out his clothing, and otherwise made him look presentable, "Tera, they are good people, their son is a good man, at least meet with him." She said once she was happy with how Tera was looking, "I think it will be good for you, to have someone to chat with closer to your own age, a friend of sorts. Just give him a chance, for me?"
It was the phrase that always made him fall quiet, 'for her' something that she used quite liberally when it came to getting Tera to behave. He feel quiet and nodded his head, falling into step behind her as she led the way to where they would be meeting with her friends and their son. It was a trying thing, but it would appear that it had to be done. There was no getting out of this meeting any longer... and all he could hope for was that the potential babysitter wasn't interested in the task presented to him.

The formalities, he still wasn't sure why he was here. After all he wasn't the one the famly was coming to meet it was his brother. Sulking slightly he stood up straighter as his father gave him that look of displeasure.
"I know you don't want to be here, and you should be training..but your mother insists that we all be present as your brother is introduced to his charge. This is the start of a new life for him and for us. " Juria spoke as he looked away striaghtening his sash a moment so that his wife wouldn't do it for him.
Ashta was puffed up like a bird trying to impress a female. Perhaps he was, although it was their mother. Leana fussed over his hair and his clothes before she moved onto her youngest son. "I think i hear them...Juria please open the door and let them in." She spoke as she continued her last minute primping before turning to face the entrance way, standing beside Ashta with Kyruie hanging in the back.
Juria nodded his head and with a polite voice greeted the mother and her son before inviting them inside.
Kyruie meanwhile was trying to inch away, he didn't want to be here, although he felt guilty if he escape he would deal with that later. With everyone looking forward he had managed to somewhat get to the bottom of the steps leading up to his bedroom.
Leana moved forward and gave a curtious gesture of respect before welcoming the pair to their home.
"Please come in, Ashta is eager to meet his charge."

As the two Matori stepped inside it was Tera's mother who greeted the others graciously, thanking them for allowing them inside, amongst other politeness that came along with going into another persons house. It was something that had Tera sighing a little, so, here he was it would seem. He was here to meet with his new caretaker, something that made him so very uncomfortable. Would the guy think him an invalid? Someone his age who was in need of someone to follow around after him, keep an eye on him, keep him from vanishing again. He would bet anything that this 'Ashta' likely thought that there was something wrong with him he thought to himself. The voice in his head was 'helpful' enough to remind him that there was in fact something wrong with him, not to mention that they had wandered off at least twice already since coming home. Of course Tera's mother would think in need of someone to hold his perverbial leash.
Lifting his golden eyed gaze he looked toward the one he assumed was Ashta, about to open his mouth to greet him, but it was then that he noticed something far more interesting. A squeak of surprise escaped from him before he said in a happy tone, "Kyruie! Its you!" He gave a happy sort of smile upon seeing the other man and the voice in his head gave a groaning sound of displeasure, having thought that they were finally done with Kyruie. It had been some time since their last run in, despite Tera actively looking for the man. The voice thought they were finally finished with that damn addict... and yet here he stood, not good.
Turning to glance at him questioningly his mother asked, "Tera? How do you know him?"
It was a question that came with a lifted eyebrow, reminding Tera that he probably shouldn't know him, he wasn't supposed to be making friendly with strangers after all. And how friendly they were the voice muttered, a comment that confused Tera so he didn't respond, instead he merely glanced away, "Ahh... I just... met him when he passed by, when I was in the yard getting some air."

There was a moments pause, the very room felt like someone had sucked all the air out of it. Kyruie's mother and father had frozen on the spot looking as if they could break at a moments notice. What was this? Their other son new this young man?
Kyruie stood there joinining his mother and father in the pretending to be a statue game. His mind was running a million miles a moment, would Tera give his habit away to his family? What could he say about this situation? It had become so awkward he wasn't really sure how to respond and thus remained silent.
It was Ashta who managed to break the silence first, raising his hand to his mouth and giving a slight discomforting cough,
"Ah..is that how it is." It was Leana who spoke first, trying to not sound quite so rigid as the room began to return to normal. "Well as long as Kyruie wasn't bothering you.." She continued moving in a rather jerky movement towards her eldest son to take his arm and bring him before their important charge.
"This is Ashta we were hoping that he would be a suitable companion for you Tera..." The conversation continued as the matriarch of the household was trying to smooth the awkward introduction over. It was Kyruie's father who was giving the younger son dark look as if accusing him of something he was hiding.
Licking his upper lip it was true that Kyruie really wanted to leave, he wanted his fix and then sleep it off. But he was stuck here and avoided looking at Tera by staring at the ground. His heard beat hard in his chest as he expected the other 'Tera' to come forth and spill the beans about his terrible habits.

Tera looked around the room at all of the people, wondering if it would have been better if he hadn't tried to explain. Actually it probably would have been best if he hadn't said anything at all but he'd been so surprised! To think that he would actually get a chance to meet with Kyruie again, it was so lucky! On'os was truly smiling upon him... at least he felt so. The voice in his head was saying that it was surely the God of Fortune showing his disfavor or else why would Tera keep running into Kyruie? Obviously the boy was cursed.
Turning his attention from Kyruie to the other man, Ashta, he starred up at him. He wasn't so bad, he supposed? Someone to talk to, maybe he'd be nice? Hard to say though, and really he wanted to go over to chat with Kyruie, not this man, but he had a feeling that he wouldn't get away with that. If anything it would probably upset everyone involved. For some reason just having Tera greet Kyruie seemed to make things rather awkward so wanting to bypass the one chosen to be his new friend to chat with Kyruie wouldn't happen. He'd have to focus on this man, the one he was brought here to meet, make friends with him, and then... what? Maybe he could ask his mother if he could have Kyruie as his 'companion' instead? A thought that had the voice in his head instantly saying 'no, no, no' over and over again in a firm and very unamused tone. Better to hope this new guy was more tolerable then to throw Tera's life into the hands of someone like Kyruie.
Forcing that thought away he finally found his voice again and said, "I... ummm... hello, it's nice to meet you, Ashta." He didn't want to slight the guy. Just because he wasn't Kyruie and not the one Tera was interested in didn't mean he was a bad guy, right? He'd... cope, for now at least.

Kyruie tried to remain indifferent to what was happening, but it was hard when he felt Tera's gaze fall upon him and he felt his face heat up. Their last encounter had been...rather awful with him throwing himself at the other man while in a drugged stupor. How did you act around some one who had seen you act like that?
Ashta himself looked Tera over, this would be his new charge after all and he would do his best to keep him safe.
"Its...a pleasure." He managed a bit rigidly, after all the poor older brother wasn't that great with greetings or talking with others. Ashta was best suited so silent work, not having to interact with others. There was another moments of awkward silence, whilst Kyruie tried to take another step away his father intervened and blocked his escape route. A glare was tossed in his direction before the rather stiff conversation was continued by his mother.
"Ashta is a bit of a quiet man, but I assure you he has trained well and you wouldn't have to worry about anyone hurting your son." Leana continued trying to basically sell Ashta's skills rather than his...personality.
Kyruie groaned, this was just awful and so awkward.

Tera blinked a couple times, then lifted a hand up to smother a giggle, "You're as chatty as your brother, huh?" He couldn't say that it had been too easy talking to Kyruie either, not when he wasn't eating that strange powder of his. It was kind of funny to see that the inability to carry conversation seemed to run in the family. Maybe it wouldn't been so bad talking to Ashta? Well, talking at him at least. Would he have to carry the conversation? What would they talk about? Tera was a little uncertain about really opening up to him given the fact that he seemed like the nice, stand up sort that Tera wasn't. He'd like being near Kyruie because at least Kyruie was screwed up like Tera was. This guy didn't seem to be like that, instead he was just quiet Ashta's mother said.
At the woman's mention of him having 'trained well' and that he wouldn't let anyone hurt Tera he found him asking, "What sort of training do you do?" Tera was curious about it and the voice in his head seemed interested as well, already approving of someone that could protect them as opposed to Kyruie who would likely just do the opposite.
Emi looked at her son a moment, then back to Leana, "I am glad to hear that he's been training, I worry for Tera, and I don't want him wandering off or getting lost. He's a good boy, so sweet and a little oblivious to the dangers of the world." She glanced toward Kyruie a moment, feeling as though he was an example of that. Her son had somehow made friends with someone else, without her knowing about it, and that meant he might have been chatting with other strangers as well while he was out 'getting some air' as he put it. That wasn't something she wanted to hear. Turning back to looking at Ashta once more she said, "Keeping him safe and far from any possible Oban threat is what matters most to me. If you can do that then I don't mind Tera becoming friends with you."
A comment that had Tera's cheeks coloring before he lifted a hand to rub it against his temples. He didn't need her to treat him like a child and make friends for him he thought to himself. Something that the voice was more then happy to counter by saying that Tera only made the worst of friends so maybe it was best to let his mother find him better friends, the sort that wouldn't lead him off to every last cease pool and hovel located in the area. Ashta was the best choice, far exceeding what Kyruie could offer, something that Tera and the voice in his head seemed to disagree upon completely.

Ashta felt his cheeks flush a bit in embaressment, if only due to the fact that he wasn't a good conversationalist at all. He lacked charisma the ability to make small talk. So when compared to his brother several pairs of eyes turned to Kyruie wondering...just how much interaction the two of them had prior to this meeting. After all didn't Tera state they had just bumped into each other?
Trying to bring the focus back to Ashta his mother moved to stand beside her elder son to block out Kyruie from the conversation.
"Ah yes he has trained much right Ashta?" She chimed in with a nod of her head giving him an opening to continue the conversation that he didn't want to continue.
"Ah yes...I train everyday with dual swords.. with Kyruie..my brother is hopeless with the blades however so I have him train with a shield." Ashta conveyed perhaps trying to give the impression that Kyruie was a terrible fighter but instead opening up that Kyruie was training as well. Perhaps with a different weapon but still training.
If one looked upon Kyruie they would notice that his body was bulkier, he was building muscle but he was still far from the same level of muscle bulk like his brother.

Tera tilted his head to one side as the woman moved to stand with Ashta, thus blocking Kyruie from view. He found himself wondering why she'd done that? Maybe she didn't want to risk Tera not making friends with Ashta? That or maybe she knew about Kyruie's problems and didn't want Tera hanging out with him the voice suggested, something he shoved aside, forcing himself to focus instead of Ashta. So he was training with dual swords, huh? Kyruie on the other hand was training with a shield? He wanted to ask Kyurie about it... but refrained.
Instead he gave a smile and said, "Training with your brother, that must be fun." He didn't have siblings so he couldn't say that he knew what it was like. He had been thinking of late of trying to do some training himself, wanting to figure out a way to get stronger... but he knew that meant approaching his father. The man was as intimidating as they came but he knew that was the only help he might get, not as though his mother was going to help him. She would probably rather see him locked away somewhere 'safe' with Ashta guarding the door.
Perking up at a thought, one that had the voice on edge, he asked, "Do you think I could watch you guys train sometime? I think it might be interesting to get to watch and maybe I'd learn a bit while I do."
Emi sighed a little, "Tera dear, you don't have to worry about that sort of thing. You will have Ashta to look after you after all." She said, lifting a hand to ruffle his hair before turning back to Ashta, "So training everyday? That's good, that must mean you're quite proficient with your swords then?" She was quite pleased with this information, it meant that Ashta really was the best choice for Tera's companion.

One could almost sense the awkwardness between the two brothers. Training together? Fun? Usually it ended up with them both getting upset with each other, Ashta getting so frustrated he'd throw up his hands and tell Kyruie to go clear his head before they would continue. So there wasn't a lot of reason to go into detail about how poorly they worked together.
Kyruie though couldn't help himself and gave a bit of a snort of laughter that was smothered just as soon as it came into existence due to his fathers glaring. Though all sets of eyes stared at Tera with his request about watching the pair train. This sounded like a terrible idea, and everyone was relieved as Tera's mother smothered the idea quickly.
Ashta returned his attention to Emi as questions were asked of him, he nodded his head, not that he wanted to boast but he considered himself rather proficient with the weapons.
"Growing up we worked on a labourer farm, so shifting from a sickle to a sword wasn't too difficult. " He explained with a nod of his head, which actually gained a bit of attention from his brother. Kyruie didn't really know much beyond the few years they had worked together, but at that young age they hadn't been allowed to use any of the tools.
Desperate to get away Kyruie looked to his father with a pleading expression in his eyes. His wish to escape was denied, as his father crossed his arms over his chest.
Leana seemed desperate to seal the deal as she wanted to end this interview on a positive note. So she began to work on cornering Tera.
"So what do you think Tera? Ashta will be able to keep a good eye you and protect you well. "

Tera looked a bit on the interested side when he heard the laughter from Kyruie, wondering if he'd said something funny? He wasn't sure but he would be all for watching them... but it seemed as though everyone were against the idea. Was it some sort of private training? The sort that was kept within the family or something? He wasn't sure... but he supposed no matter how he looked at it he wasn't going to to get to watch them unless he did so in a sneaky manner. As though Tera knew anything about being sneaky the voice said in a sarcastic fashion. Even though he didn't want to admit it he knew that he was far from being sneaky, so he doubted that he'd be able to get to see them while training even if he tried the sneaky manner of doing so.
He turned toward Leana when she seemed to come a touch closer, asking him what he thought, saying that Ashta would keep a good eye on him and said once more that he would protect him. He blinked a couple times, then gave a slow nod, "I..." He didn't want Ashta, he wanted Kyruie, but those words were coming out. He knew that if he announced that it would probably just cause more problems. So, make friendly with Ashta for now and then try to figure out how to meet with Kyruie. Would it be possible though? Probably harder to meet with Kyruie if he had Ashta with him all the time, but he'd try his best.
Glancing up at Ashta he finally said, "I... would like it, yes, to be friends with you if you'd like?" Hopefully that would get their parents to all stop starring at Tera, waiting for him to make a choice, since it was something that was making Tera quite uncomfortable. How he just wanted the attention to leave him for a time so that he could breath again.

It seemed that was all that was needed to make Leana smile broadly and give a nod of her head several times. Moving forwardly she gently took Emi by the arm gesturing to Tera and Ashta as if they made the perfect couple.
"It looks like he is happy with the arrangement. How about we go and celebrate this union and discuss the agreement in more detail?" she stated with another small nod, "come lets move to the kitchen while my husband prepares some refreshments." She gave a listing smile as it focused on her two sons a moment.
"Why don't you boys go upstairs and get to know Tera better."
Both Ashta and Kyruie stiffened at the order, they knew better than to argue. As they turned Ashta looked like he was rather uncomfertable with this new development. It was his brother who snickered as they headed up the stairs.
"Didn't realize this was a arranged marriage...proposal." He managed with a laugh only earning a punch in the shoulder from Ashta. "Ow."
Ashta sighed and allowed Tera to move ahead of him, he had much better things to do than ..chat up his new charge. He was to guard him not be buddies.

Tera blinked a couple times, watching as his mother seemed to be suddenly determined to chat with his mother, to figure out the details, and to get everything in order. They were to go upstairs and 'get to know each other better' it would seem. He turned to look up at Ashta, giving him a bit of a smile, "Ahhh... alright, we should do that." He said, finding it a little odd that they were being chased off so that they could make friends, but he supposed that it made sense. His mother seemed to want desperately for him to make friends after all, as if that would make him that much more normal. How this situation was normal though was beyond him.
At the comment that Kyruie made he was quick to jerk his hands up to his mouth, smothering a giggling sound, not wanting to insult Ashta but found that quite amusing. When Ashta gave him a punch in the arm Tera lifted a hand, patting the bigger man's arm, "Now, now Ashta... no punching my soon to be brother-in-law." He said in a joking manner before going up the stairs, not sure where he was heading but figured that Ashta would likely give directions as they went. At least he hoped so, he wasn't exactly chatty but surely he wouldn't let Tera get them lost in Ashta's own house? He seemed a responsible sort at least, the sort that Tera should be close to, unlike a 'certain someone' the voice in his head said to him.
Once he was at the top of the stairs turned to look at Ashta and asked, "Which way are we heading?"

As if Ashta wasn't sure how to respond he had to refrain from saying anything hurtful to punching his brother in the shoulder in response to Tera's comment. It seemed anger management was in order for both the brothers even if Kyruie only snickered again and rubbed his sore shoulder.
"You don't have to get so defensive.." Kyruie managed offhandedly, happy to finally be leaving the intensely awkward situation down stairs.
"Just...take Tera to our room..I'll see about getting some...refreshments..." Ashta snapped looking embarrassed and angry at the teasing. Turning around quickly and back tracking down the stairs with as much grace as a stomping oban beast.
It left Kyruie alone with Tera who now...wasn't really sure what to say now that he couldn't tease his brother.
"Sorry ..I tend to agitate my brother...he will be a good body guard.." He managed with a slight apology. Standing at the door way to their bedroom it was easy enough to see that the young man wasn't sure about inviting Tera into the room...it felt like he was hitting on him.
