A hand ran through his long and shaggy hair, once twice and then a third time. The habit was increasing since he had been freed from his Oban master. The war was over, the slaves were free to go. But go where? The young Matori male wasn't sure where to go or what to do until he had found his family. A blessing and a curse.
Though he could not deny he was glad his family was safe, even his uppity annoying brother who had given him a stiff hug. His mother had burst into tears so happy that her 'baby boy' was alive and almost wailed to see the horrendous amount of scars that crisscrossed his back. Like any doting parent she had fretted and his father acted as the rock of the ground giving gruff replies and stiff hugs like his brother. Unable to go home just ye they had wandered and found temporary places to live. Right now however...Kyruie had to escape his mothers suffocating doting and his fathers merciless questions. What did his master make him do? There were...too many things he did not tell his family. Unspeakable things that he would not utter for saying the words out loud meant it had not been just an unending night mare.
Now though he was in trouble. One of the unspeakable things he had done while imprisoned... was inflicted upon him while a slave..wouldn't let him forget. His hunger for the pain numbing medicine was causing his hands to shake slightly. It made him jittery and he was able to use the excuse of his master's treatment of him to pass off his shaking. But even as he breathed the air around him...he knew that he was in trouble. What was he going to do? He needed that medicine...
A pair of bright eyes were watching the Matori man since he'd come outside, taking in everything about him, from the way that he looked, to the way he acted, and even the way that he moved. He looked different enough from everything else around him that he couldn't help but to find a keen interest in him. It was something that proved difficult at times, being interested in things at home, especially since he seemed to do little to nothing since returning. It was a little strange being back here, being amongst those who called themselves his family, but really when was the last time that he'd seen them? It was so long ago that he could barely really recalll all that much about them from before they had come to rescue him. He drew a breath in through his nose, let out it out slowly through his lips, then took a couple steps forward toward the strange guy. There was something rather off about him, wasn't there? It kind of made him interesting though, huh? He couldn't help but to grow that much curious as he watched, as though the strange aura this man carried felt familiar somehow. Not that he'd met him before but because Tera wasn't really completely with it himself. Maybe he felt some sort of kinship with him because of that he thought to himself. Not that his mother wanted to believe for even a moment that anything could be wrong with 'her precious boy'. No, she kept telling everyone, his potential new babysitter included, that he was just 'fragile' and 'in need of someone to play with' as though he were just a child. Taking a couple steps forward he found himself half wanting to reach out to the man, to touch him, to make sure that he was really real. What if he was just imagining him? He didn't think he was that far out there though that he would fully hallucinate an entire person.
Giving a shake of his head though he took a step back, peeking at the other man again instead of actually moving toward him. No, he wouldn't poke at him, he just wanted to watch him for now, even though it wasn't as though Tera was all that sneaky. No, sneaky wasn't something that he'd been trained to do during his time with his Oban Masters. No matter, he still meant do his best to try to hide out in the shadows, watch him, and not draw attention to himself if that was all possible. At least until he could figure out who this guy was exactly. Now that he got closer Tera realized that he kind of looked familiar, but he wasn't sure why. He was pretty sure he hadn't seen him before now... maybe he just looked like someone he knew? His mind whirled for a moment but he tried to remember where he could have seen him or someone like him. He gave up pretty quickly though when he came up blank. Ah well, he was still the most interesting thing around at the moment so he was what had all of Tera's attention.
It was hard to ignore something that was nagging at the back of your head, fraying your will strand by strand until you could not longer stand against it. A shuddering breath escaped him, he hadn't realized he had been holding it, but at some point his slow sluggish walk had come to a stop. As his hand had come back to his long shady hair running through the strands in an endless loop. Was it comforting? Perhaps...his master use to run his fingers through his hair after he was beaten to the point he could barely move. A strange sort of comfort? Perhaps it was due to the fact that his hair being pet in such a manner meant that relief from the pain was coming in the form of a drug...as if his manic master who would go into wild rages often felt terrible for what he had done. Yet it happened more often than not. The bruises were healing on his body, the scars on his bare back however would probably never go away...never heal fully. He hadn't been away of his stalker behind him, his thoughts happened to be lost in unpleasant memories at one point his fingers stopped running through his hair, instead he tangled his fingers into the strands and pulled on it..like the pain was a comfort to him..after pain was relief..release from the world. But he had so little of his precious 'relief' left. And it certainly wasn't on him right now... Slowly he pulled at his hair, over and over yanking on it as if trying to rouse some emotion out of him. His master's hand had been ruthless, he was surprised at times that he wasn't crippled. His feet began to move forward again slowly aimlessly. Keeping to alley's and dark narrow passages, he could smell the slum nearby and he tried to remember the smell of the ocean.
Tera glanced back in the direction that he knew his family was located in, knowing full well that he wasn't supposed to stray far. He had been told so many times that he had to 'be a good boy' and 'stay where his mother could find him' and the like. He should stay right here. Just as that came to him he could hear a voice in the back of his mind asking him if that was what he wanted to do, did he want to stick around here and wait like a good little puppy? He would rather follow the strange guy in front of him, watch him a while longer, and do something that didn't involve him sitting around starring into space. As he followed along after him once more the voice in his head seemed to approve of this decision, as tired of being idle as Tera was. His curious pursuit came to a halt as he watched the manner in which the Water Tribesman was tugging on his hair, making him wonder what it was that he was doing exactly. He was a weird one for sure... who wanted to tug on their hair like that? He lifted a hand to touch his own hair which was currently braided by his mother's hands, and then gave a thoughtful sound. He'd had his hair yanked before in the past, it was something that he didn't care for in the least, and had done his best to avoid having done to him when eh could. He supposed that since it wasn't his hair so he shouldn't care, right? Let the guy continue on as he wanted, they were free to do what they wanted now that they were supposedly free from the Obans.
Trotting along after the man once more, Tera found himself wondering where it was that the man was heading, not to mention what it was that he was doing. He was leaving the area where the two families of Water Tribesmen had gathered so maybe he was just a visitor of some sort? A visitor that was obvious crazy the voice in his head said in a manner that he felt went along with the rolling of eyes. Tera wrinkled his nose for a moment, "As if you have a better idea for what he's up to... and really, isn't that the pot calling the kettle crazy? Now, quit complaining or we'll lose him." He muttered to himself before he quickened his steps so as not to lose track of the man he was currently stalking.
His feet carried him in a aimless direction, the smell of the slum was getting stronger before he turned and then continued up a small side street the alley getting narrower as he moved, he then stopped before a pile of crates and looked up. His golden eyes accessed the information dully. The crate didn't really lead anywhere, unlike some of the books his master would read there was no magic way out of his dilemma. Still he found himself releasing his hair and then reaching for the crate. He dragged his body up them, scaling it in a pace fit for only the patient. Then atop the wall he went, pulling himself into a standing position as he continued his walking now using the narrow path before him as his route. At least now he couldn't wander aimlessly, he had a set route before him and only by deliberately diverting off the path, either by falling or jumping down would he leave it. He was walking with a idea in mind, his 'relief' was stashed away, he had to hide it from his family else he knew that it would be taken away. His body wanted it, the release. The mind fogging and body numbing agent. Walking straight quite a ways he then had to stop and gather his baring. Back tracking slowly as he then turned and without hesitation jumped down from atop the wall down the other side. He then moved a short distance and found a small mound of dirt. Squatting he began to use his hands to dig what was in this mount out. A small box was retrieved and he went to sit down as he pulled out a small paper pouch from inside. Tapping it against the lid he then opened it to peer to see what was still remaining. Very little. Sighing he dipped a finger into the opening to then remove a small dusting onto his skin. He then licked it off his finger before repeating the process again. The effect wasn't immediate, but he did feel himself become calmer almost instantly. Sighing as he wished he could go to sleep he instead absently put the pouch back in the box before accidentally dropped the box to the ground where he stared at it dumbly a moment.
After a while of following along after the man Tera started to notice that he didn't really seem as though he was wandering aimlessly, did he? No, it almost seemed as though the man had a set place he wanted to be... though where that was he had no idea. He couldn't say that he knew anything about this area since it wasn't where his former master lived. He felt that it must be an important place though because the guy seemed determined to get to... well, wherever they were going.
Upon arriving though he had to admit he was a bit disappointed. Somehow he thought that they were going somewhere amazing, but instead he was just... Was he digging in the dirt? Taking a couple steps forward, head cocked to one side, Tera tried to figure out what it was that the man was up to. He had dug up... what? A box of some sort? Further inspection had him realizing that he was eating something out of it. There was a moment where he wondered if it was something good, something sweet, and if he could have some. The voice in his head was instantly calling him all manner of things, the loudest being that he was 'dull witted child if he thought anyone would bury candy in such an out of the place'.
Giving a little pout, muttering about how it was just a thought, Tera look another couple steps forward before he came to squat down beside the other man who had dropped his box on the ground. He looked at his fellow Matori, down at the box, then back again before he asked, "Do you plan to bury it again?" He was asking this as the voice was cursing at him again, telling him to leave the weirdo alone! As if Tera, or that voice, could really say anything about this stranger being weird, not when they were weird enough themselves. A smile appeared on Tera's face as he watched the other Matori, waiting for an answer to his question. Was he planning to bury the box again? Would he take it with him? Hide it somewhere else, maybe? It was a curious thought and Tera couldn't help but to wonder about it even as the the voice in his head went on about how he wanted nothing more then to somehow spring forth from Tera's head just so that he could strangle Tera himself! Not that such a thing was exactly possible, not in the way the voice wanted at least.
The young Matori male seemed woefully unaffected by Tera's appearance. He should care who saw him in this state, but right now his reasoning was numbed by the substance he had ingested. Instead he smiled at Tera a bit before sitting up and leaning forward, his eyes were heavy but not so tired that he wanted to sleep. The effects of his 'relief' would be brief, there had hardly been enough there to give him any sort of refuge from the world. "Bury it? No...not here...never the same place twice." He managed with a almost drunken like nod of his head. "Your pretty...are you new?" He inquired for a moment forgetting he wasn't in his master's home anymore. That he was free and sitting in an alley way high on a numbing powder. "The master likes the pretty ones...don't worry he won't hit your face...he never hits your face.." He muttered a moment the aches and bruises on his back a firm reminder of what his master would hit. Of course he couldn't feel the pain at the moment, but his fingers went to stroke one of the scars he could reach. The whip had slipped across his back like fire and had managed to sneak over his shoulder. It was due to that scar that master stopped using a whip. Instead moving to a riding crop or his fists. "oooh..." Kyruie looked up releasing with a dull blink that he was outside, not at his masters home. "Its day time." It was easy to see that he wasn't with it. That perhaps he was trying to avoid the pain of the real world by diving into the world of medicinal powders.
"Never in the same place twice? Wow... you must have a good memory to remember where you hid it." Tera praised the other man, doubtful that he'd recall something like that. It didn't help that his thoughts got mixed up a lot, not to mention those moments where he sort of blacked out as well. Yeah, he'd never find something like a small box hidden somewhere in the world but never in the same place twice. It was like a treasure hunt now that he thought about it... only the 'treasure' the man had dug up didn't exactly seem like something Tera found interest in. In fact it seemed to make the guy a bit loopy, didn't it?
"Eh? New?" He asked, tilting his head to one side before he thought about it, then nodded, "New to the area at least." He hadn't been here before, would never have ended up here if he wasn't following this guy around. Now that he had followed him all the way here thought, and given the condition he was in, how were they going to get back? The voice in his head set to yelling at him again, telling him that he should have paid attention during the walk instead of following blindly. There was more complaints by the voice, all of them negative toward Tera, but he ignored them. He was so used to that voice that he was decent at blocking it out. Instead of focusing on it he would much rather focus on the one he was chatting with. He was getting hard to follow though as he spoke of his master.
With a curious look on his face he found himself asking, "Were you not freed of your master's control?" Maybe not all of the Obans were listening to that rule about releasing their Matori slaves? A thought that made him worry a bit, not wanting to think about what might happen if this man's master showed up and decided to scoop Tera up along with his missing slave. Instantly the voice in his head, in a demanding tone, was telling Tera to get up and go home. Even if he didn't know the way home it was better then waiting for yet another violent Oban master to come along. It was the last thing the voice wanted to deal with... but still Tera tried to ignore the voice, instead finding himself reaching a hand out toward the rather dazed man next to him to give him a little poke in the cheek, "Are you alright?"
It was hard to say if the man was alright. The poke against his cheek brought him to slowly regard the other fellow. Raising a hand he poked the man back, giving a small sound like he found this all rather humorous. It took him moments to realize what the other had said before he reached to grab the hand that had poked him and pulled him in for a rather fierce hug. He was right. The master was gone. He was a free man, to an extent. He still had his family to deal with...and somehow that was worse than having a master that enjoyed beating you. "No. I am..not. I am free...and I don't know what to do..." He managed to breath a moment though still holding onto Tera with such a fierce possessiveness one would wonder if he was trying to snap the man in half. The drugs often did this to him, made him clingy, desire attention and comfort. But there wasn't anyone stroking his head like a good child, and with one arm still wrapped around the other he took his free hand and grabbed onto Tera's awkwardly. He then placed it in his tangle of dark green hair firmly keeping it there as if to make sure Tera wouldn't go away. "My mas...ter was cruel...but my family...almost worse...I don't know what to do." The poor man mumbled.
Tera gave a little sound of surprise when the man poked him back, not having expected that. Of course to be honest he wasn't really thinking ahead when it came to what the reaction of the other man might be to being poked and just getting poked in return was actually a lot better out come then what could have come his way. He gave a bit of a smile then, as though amused by the fact that his drug addled companion had responded in such a manner. So much better then him getting angry with Tera that was for sure.
"You're not? Wait... you are? Ummm... oh, I see." He murmured, seeming to get what the man meant. Being free but not really, not to mention not knowing what to do. Things that Tera could understand. As the man suddenly grabbed hold of him he found himself dragged into a right hug, something that was more startling then anything that had happened to him yet. He didn't hesitate though as he lifted his arms up, wrapping them around the other man, and hugged him in return. Maybe he just needed a hug? A thought that was met by that voice again telling him how much of an idiot he was, that giving out hugs to complete strangers, especially those doped up on who knew what, wasn't what he should be doing! In fact it was probably the exact opposite of what he should be doing... then again Tera had always been too stupidly nice for his own good, something that always came back to bite him in the a**... not Tera, but him, the voice sounded a bit bitter.
Tera's eyes softened as the man spoke of his master being cruel but his family being almost worse and that he didn't know what to do. Lifting a hand he set to petting it against the other man's hair in what he hoped was a soothing gesture, "It's alright, I am right here and I've got you." Not as though he could actually protect him from himself, his ex-master, or his family, he couldn't even protect himself most days, but at least in this moment he wanted to help the man if at all possible.

Feeling the hug being returned he couldn't help but tighten his hold on the stranger. Like a drowning man finding something to keep him afloat he clung to him, his eyes sinking half closed as he felt fingers slipping through his hair. Burying his face into the crutch of Tera's neck and shoulder he just laid there. His hot breath on the mans skin as he felt himself shiver. Too many mixed signals, what his body expected to come next out of habit and what and whom this really was. They perhaps stayed this way for several long drawn out minutes, and the high he was experiencing was quickly starting to fade. He hadn't used all the much of the powder and his supply was running low so he had to be sparing with its use. But now what could he do? Locked in the embrace of a man he didn't know, who knew his drug use... But his words had been so comforting. "What...do I have to do to keep you quiet?" He managed after a moment of deliberation. His child like demeanor was only due to the drugs and his true self reared its ugly head slowly. "You know my secret and my family cannot know...I can pay you...with money..or..." He trailed off, using his body wasn't out of the question he was use to it being traded for goods after all.
Tera let his eyes close and he just enjoyed the warmth of the hug, finding it somehow better then when his parents clung to him. His mother was the worst, the way that she held tight to him as though he would vanish, smothering him more then anything else. This though, this was nice, he didn't know the guy so it was as though there were no real strings attached to this affection. It was strange that it would be easier to this with someone he didn't know then to do so with those who called themselves his family and yet it was. A shame that it had to come to end he thought to himself when he heard the strange question come from the one he was with, asking him what he had to do to 'keep Tera quiet' which had him drawing back a little to stare at him, "Huh? Quiet?" He murmured, a tough confused but the voice explained it for him in no uncertain terms. Oh, he understood, the man was talking about that stuff that was eating earlier, wasn't he? He supposed it made sense, not wanting your family to know you were taking something that left you in such a dazed state.
"Oh, no, I don't need any money or anything, don't worry." He said, giving the other man a smile. Of course as he refused any compensation for his silence the voice in his head told him he was an idiot, that he should have taken the guy up on it. Better then just playing the nice guy constantly... but Tera was nice, too nice, and there was no convincing him to take the addict for all that he worth in exchange for being quiet. After a moment of thought Tera finally spoke up, "Maybe... maybe I do want something, can I ask for your name?"
He didn't let go of Tera, strangely even as the drugs wore off and his awareness was coming back full steam he felt that if he let him go he would regret it. Sighing he lifted his head a bit, so that he could see more than just the strangers neck. Chewing on his bottom lip as he stopped himself from years worth of habits. "My name? That is almost worst than just using my body for extortion. If you must have it...its Kyruie..." He managed feeling stupid for holding on so tightly, "But surely that isn't all you want?" Kyruie prompted again wanting to feel safer about this deal than just offering a name. The irony being how he didn't with to set eyes on this man again...to get away and hide from the world seemed like such a better option. Until he could get a firm answer from the guy he would surely never let go. Perhaps due to how he hugged back he was...interested in him. An irrational thought, a rash one...but he couldn't help it. Should he push his luck?
"Kyruie? That's a nice name." Tera murmured, wondering why it felt as though it were familiar to him. Had he heard that name before somewhere? Maybe something similar? He tried to place it but nothing was coming to mind so maybe he was just imagining it? That was more then likely the case, he heard something similar and his mixed up mind instantly latched on and said that he knew the name. Quickly he found himself nodding as Kyruie asked him if that was all that he wanted, "Of course, I can't think of anything else to ask for since you name was the most important. Now I have something to call you by."
Given the man was still holding tight to him he merely returned to stroking his hair, wondering if the man still wanted for Tera to do that. Maybe he wanted more attention? More affection? He should look after him, at least until he was feeling better and then Tera would ask if the guy could see about leading them back to where they had started their walk at. Tera had no clue how to get back to where his parents were staying at the moment and as such he was sort of relying on this man. Wait... maybe he should have asked for him to lead him back instead for just his name? Oops... and he'd already said that there was nothing else he could think of to ask for and he didn't want to seem like he was going back on his word. Darn... well, maybe he'd ask later, not as compensation but just because he was lost. Maybe the man would have mercy on him and lead him back.
Tera lapsed into a comfortable silence, save for the mutterings of the voice in his head, and continued to hug the one in his arms, as well as continued to pet his hair. This was kind of nice, maybe this was what his mother had in mind when she said that he needed to find someone around his age to play with? Of course it wasn't Kyruie that they wanted him to hang out with but instead they wanted him with a hand picked babysitter which really was a shame in and of itself. He'd much rather stay with Kyruie even if he was a little messed up... or maybe because he was messed up. It was better then trying to mesh with someone who seemed far more stable then Tera could ever hope to be.
Lucky he would never see him again. After this encounter they would part ways and he would go back to his lucrative life of living in his brothers shadow and trying to not get caught abusing substances. The silence stretched onwards and they were still embracing, his hair being stroked and causing him to feel calm. He didn't want to let go but he knew that sooner rather than later they would have to part ways. "Let me..just..enjoy this moment.." Came his voice..soft and fragile. There were a multitude of things he wished would happen right now, many things his body expected to happen due to the situation. If he didn't leave now, this stranger may wish that he had never allowed him to hold him. Shuddering and taking a long and deep breath and released it slowly and began to loosen his hold around the other. "You should go. It wouldn't be good for you to be with a guy like me." He managed after he dropped his arms to his sides, they both were still sitting on the ground. His hand brushed against the box he had dropped earlier and he dragged it closer to him and flipped the lid open. The packet was still in there, but he knew he would have to find more. There wasn't even enough to leave him in a stupor this time.
Giving a smile and a nod Tera said nothing else, allowing the man the man to enjoy the moment as he'd request of Tera. Not as though there was anything that needed to be said at the moment. Given the comfortable silence they were sitting in even voice in his head was surprisingly quiet for once though Tera was sure that it wouldn't last. He'd just enjoy the quiet while he could... though it wasn't too much longer before Kyruie was withdrawing from him. He gave a soft sigh, almost instantly missing the closeness, which was a little on the strange side. One would think that Tera should be seeking such closeness and affection from the 'correct' sources and yet he was happier right now then he had been since coming 'home'. The fact that he didn't know much about this guy, save for his name and his habit of randomly burying things, that made him easier to deal with then his family. He knew as little about his family as he did about Kyruie but it bothered them more that he couldn't remember things. He doubted Kyruie cared that Tera didn't know much about him.
"I... umm... about that..." He murmured, dropping gaze to his lap while he clasped his hands together in his lap, "I... sort of don't know where I am. I followed you here and... I wasn't really paying attention, so..." He gave a half shrug. He couldn't really leave, not when he didn't know where he should be going, not when he really shouldn't just wander around alone. There could still very well be Obans out there that didn't feel like complying by the new rules that had been put in place, those who could very well snatch Tera up. At least the voice in his head seemed to think so. Tera on the other hand just didn't want to get lost and end up all alone. He already had enough problems without being completely lost with no means to get home with.
Tightening his hands so his knuckles were almost while he asked, "I... can I stay a little longer...? Or... maybe get an escort back?" As he made the request he couldn't bring himself to look up at Kyruie, afraid he'd upset the guy for asking such things of him.
Noting how the other twisted his hands together until they were white knuckled he wondered if this one was all there. Not that he had any right to judge. Pulling the box into his lap he then proceeded to get up. Feeling a bit light headed as he did so and placing a hand on his forehead to catch himself from sagging. "You ...followed me..." Kyruie managed with a slight groan, that meant he knew where he lived. Wonderful. And now he was lost? Irritation was quickly replacing the calmness he had been experiencing moments before. Sighing he looked up to the sky that was rapidly growing darker. He had been away too long, and he still had to bury this box again. Of course there wasn't much point with the fact the packet inside was pretty much empty. "I will lead you to the main street, do you think you can find your way home from there?" He inquired as he didn't really want to know where this guy lived. With each passing moment he was feeling unsatisfied and angry and he didn't wish to lash out at someone who had been rather kind to him earlier.
Tera lifted his gaze up to look at Kyruie before dragging himself quickly to his feet, "I... yes, sorry. I was outside, getting a bit of away from... from them... and I saw you. You just looked... far more interesting then anything going on at home so I followed you, just like you said." He flushed just a little as he dropped his gaze again, looking down at his feet, and poked the toe of his shoe against a rock. He hadn't meant to upset him by revealing that he had followed him all the way here but it was the truth, he'd been following him for some time and it had gotten Tera hopelessly lost. He really had no idea what to do other then look to Kyruie, something he questioned as being a good idea since it seemed that it hadn't made him all too happy.
When he was offered an escort to the main street he thought about it and said, "I... maybe? I will look around and see if anything looks familiar to me." It wasn't a surefire want to get home but maybe when they got there things would look clearer to Tera? At least that was what he was really hoping would happen otherwise he was going to have to either ask for more help or just fake it. The voice suggested he just fake it, better then turning the other man's ire upon him. The last thing that Tera should have to deal with now that he was 'free' was another guy who would get violently hands on if things didn't go his way. A thought that Tera questioned for a moment but put aside, not sure where it had come from exactly. The basis of the thought was correct though, lost might be better then getting in a fight he doubted that he could even dream of winning.
He supposed he had no choice, if he left him here the guy may squeal to authorities or if he every came across him again to his parents. Seeing how the other looked quite lost, even more so than he had in his dark thoughts prior to finding his stash. Out of habit he ran his fingers in his hair, a sign he was agitated and needed calming down. Still Kyruie wasn't a bad man, he just had a rather hard life when he got separated from his family. Being a slave to a person who enjoyed causing pain and sexually exhausting a young boy could change a person. Then add an addiction caused and encouraged by his master.. "Alright...fine. I will take you to the main street and we will see from there." He grumbled as he then took a glance around and then started out of the alley way. There was not much sense going back the way they came, and he didn't want to show the man where he lived. Besides his excuse for leaving the house was to get something from the market. So that's were he was headed next. "I still don't understand why you would follow a stranger. You thought I was interesting? Or were you hoping for more than just eye candy?" He asked as they moved forward.
Tera seemed to perk up then, clapping his hands together, "Thank you so much, Kyruie! Even just a little help might get me back... well... I hope." He wasn't positive but he could hope for the best as far as figuring things out from the main street were concerned. Surely he had to be able to find something that looked familiar right? Maybe a building or a landmark, something that he'd been able to see from the house he was staying at and wasn't supposed to wander away from. That was a rule he'd already broken he thought to himself before he took a couple steps forward so that he could get closer to the one that was taking charge. Tera soon fell into step behind Kyruie, the place that his master had always wanted him to be, just out of habit.
"It's... a good question. I was told to stay where she could see me, at least until... well, he showed up..." He murmured, looking at his feet for a moment as he walked, not wanting to think about it. The fact that they were going to get him a keeper, it was so embarrassing. He lifted his gaze once more, focusing it on his back, and asked, "More then just eye candy?" He wondered what that meant. It was one of those naive sorts of thoughts that had the voice in his head raging, he did his best to ignore it but it was enough to give him a headache. Lifting a hand he rubbed it against his temples, while trying to keep up with Kyruie. Eesh, he must have really thought the wrong thing, that was the only thing that tended to get the voice in his head so riled up, "Ow, sorry... sorry..." He murmured as he rubbed his temples, trying to placate that part of himself.
What a weird guy, after all he was like a kid. Perhaps that was why he was okay with being held by a complete stranger like that. As they moved on he felt like a jerk, leaving on who seemed rather innocent to find his own way home. But he had already decided against getting involved any further with him, the less he knew the better. "Told to see where 'she' could see you? Who is this she? Your fiance?" He asked as it seemed women were always the nagging clinging type. Though he loved his mother he hated her at the same time. He never intended to get married, at least to a woman. tilting his head he noted how the young man was saying 'sorry' and he wondered if it was perhaps the pace he had picked and thus slowed down slightly. "Look if its a woman I don't blame you for wanting to get away. I have a similar problem back home. Though its my whole family that is my problem.." Kyruie ventured though he wasn't really sure why he felt that he needed to divulge this information to him.
Tera couldn't help but to give a bit of a giggle, "Fiance? No... nobody would want me as that. She is... I guess my mother." He said as they walked along, feeling weird saying it that way but it was what it felt like to him. 'Mother' just seemed like a title like 'Master' someone with power over him, but in the case of his mother he had no idea what it was that she wanted from him other then for him to be a good boy, to sit still, and to stay where she could see him. Giving a little sigh he said, "I... they are nice people, really they are, I'm not complaining. I just... don't really know them, you? I was with my master for a very long time and I can't quite recall the them." He shrugged a little, knowing it was weird not to know ones own parents but at the same time it was the nature of things. He had been a slave to an Oban master for a very long time, whoever he had been before that was sort of lost to the ages.
Giving a bit of a smile he said, "At least you can sort of understand, maybe? You do sound like you have some family problems too." It was strange, that he would meet up with someone like this by chance. One would almost think it was the divine intervention of the Gods... were it not for the fact that they were who they were. Would a God or Goddess really care about a couple of screwed up people? Or so the voice in head was asking of Tera in a rather demanding fashion. He supposed not, it was just a chance meeting, two screwed up being being brought together because they happened to be in the same place at the same time, nothing more. Regardless of that he was glad he'd met the other guy, it gave him a few moments where he didn't have to worry about how screwed up he was because he wasn't alone in it, he had someone that could better understand while his mother just tried to ignore it or pass it off as something, anything, else. He was 'tired' or 'needed time' or something along those lines, nothing like what he was really dealing with.
A strange choice of words, he guessed that she was his mother? Though listening to the extent of the conversation he understood a little better about the situation. This stranger was probably with his master from a really young age, the fact he was reunited with family meant nothing if he could not recall them. He wished..he had the same problem. Taken away at such at an age where his master preferred...not quite a man but not a boy...that awkward stage where your voice cracked and your body had not quite lost its boyish charm. That was when he had been taken. Until then he had lived with his mother, father and brother all working for a fairly amiable man who had them till fields. He was not kind but he wasn't cruel. The best way to describe his first master was that he was...fair. If you didn't work you didn't eat. It was that simple. The only exceptions was if you were sick. And even then you were given chores you could do to the best of your ability. Then one day his master was offered an astounding price for him...so much it boggled his mind and he was sold without a second thought. Greed...was what drove people to evil. "M...y family ..yes..I suppose I could understand..though I understand it is I that have changed...perhaps too much for them to recognize I am no longer the son they remember." Kyruie managed with a slight lament. One foot in front of another he moved with purpose, trying to get them to the main street so that he could then separate himself from the strange parasite of a man. He came to the end of the alley they walked in and he hung in the shadows, as if stepping into the sunlight was a terrible burden and he pointed to the road ahead of him. There were stalls on either side of the street full of people trying to hawk their wares.
"We are here."
"No longer their son." Tera mused, wondering if it was the same for him. It made sense in a way, maybe that was why his mother was clinging so hard to him? It was because she knew that there was something wrong with him, knew he was no longer the son she remembered from so long ago, and but refused to acknowledge exactly how far gone Tera was from those days. It actually made a bit of depressing sense he thought to himself before he quickened his steps, not wanting to lose the one in front of him. As they came to the main street he looked up one street, then down the other, mind whirling. Where... where had he come from? Was there anything that looked familiar to him? He found himself struggling, near to panic, when the voice in head told him to calm down and look left, as well as calling him a couple choice names that Tera decided to just ignore.
Turning slowly in the direction that he was told to look in he gave a relieved sound, "Ahh! Look, left it is!" He said, clapping his hands together, "Maybe I will get lucky and get home before mother realizes that I am missing." Tera said to Kyruie, hoping it was the case, not wanting to get himself or his momentary companion in any sort of trouble if it turned out that his mother knew he was gone. If she knew then she would be upset, if she got upset then it wouldn't go well for anyone involved. Giving Kyruie a glance he found himself thinking that it wasn't really something he wanted to happen since it might meant Kyruie getting bothered too. He'd rather allow the man to return to... well, whatever it was that he was doing before Tera showed up to bother him. He doubted that he would want an onlooker when he buried that box of his, even if it was one with a spotty memory, so he should probably be on his way, huh?
Giving Kyurie a smile he said, "I should probably head home then. Good luck with hiding that box of yours and if you ever need another hug, and happen to see me, just let me know." It had seemed to calm the man the first time, as such he didn't mind offering him another hug. The odds of them meeting again were probably slim to none after all, but it would be nice to see him again, he found that he kind of liked him.
Looking to where Tera was headed he knew if he had been younger and innocent he would of offered to walk the stranger home. Instead he gave a half shrug, happy to be rid of him. The box in his hand, clutched like it could be precious he wasn't sure what else to do with it. It was handy to have...yes he would keep it and hopefully continue being able to hide it. A strange one that. Perhaps he had been beaten as well..to the point his brain was addled. Maybe they weren't too different from each other. No sense getting attached, he didn't bother to respond to his offer, instead just giving a small shrug. "Don't get lost." He managed in a low whisper as he turned and began to make his own way back home.
