Character Personality: Ashes eyes are golden and glowing and full of wonder. They seem to see the magic in everything and this gives him a very playful and amiable disposition to most. Ash loves learning new things and meeting new people. He is a very nice man and is kind to all he sees wishing to know more about everyone no matter how high or low their rank may be. Being as inquisitive as he is does lead to interesting combat due to Ash often questioning his opponent in a very playful manner. Outside of combat Ash enjoys the company of others particular women only increasing his playful nature when they are around. He has been known to be a flirt but more of a playful harmless flirt than one actually looking for any end. Ash is very quick witted and finds quite the satisfaction in returning quick piercing remarks meant to appear witty. Though in the end he enjoys socializing more than anything preferring not to be alone. He can be calm and laid back when he needs to be or when in the presence of others who are quite serious/stoic, though primarily he enjoys his energetic nature and makes no effort to hide it.

Character scar/tattoo's: Ash does not have any tattoos. Ash has one scar and it was the wound that ended his life on earth. It is a large line that goes directly down the center of his chest and has a matching on his back. Anyone with any knowledge of medicine would know this was caused by him being run through by a sword.

History:
“For out of the ground we were taken for the dust we are... and to the dust we shall return.”
My father would tell me this statement before I went to sleep at night. Not to discourage me from exploring the world but to remind me that we all came from the same place and will return to it in the end. With this in mind as I grew I began to see all the wonder in the world and all of the amazing things it contained. My eyes seemed to grow wider and drank in all that the world could offer always craving to see more. My mind always wandered and seemed to see things in a different way. Being born in the time I was it seemed all around me were filled with the same curiosity that I was. Though for some reason I could always see things and how things worked in ways others couldn't. By the age of ten I was doing magic shows for all those on my street drawing them in with illusions and slight of hand using my charisma and dexterity to mystify my classmates and even their parents.

Seeing their excitement and wonder seemed to fuel my own only driving me to become better and more amazing to fill people with the same joy and admiration that I have for the world that I am in. I soon dropped out of school and my father being the middle class man he was saw the opportunity for us to jump class which was no easy task in London during the late 1800s. He supported me to my surprise being the lighter to help start what would become the raging brush fire of my career. Within three years being only thirteen I was doing magic shows for crowds of over two hundred people and generating more money than my father ever was. Though he did not discourage me or take issue with this instead he continued to support me giving me whatever I needed to help me perfect and continue my illusions taking my career to the next level.

Within another three years my shows had quadrupled in size and I was now a weekly show at a local theater my magic becoming more popular than theater. My father was with me the whole way becoming my assistant and together we were able to perform illusions that all other magicians could not due to our superior strength when combined. It lead to an extremely unique act and seemed to bring in more people due to our ability to perform never before seen illusions. We began drawing the attention of competition now and unfortunately they were far more tenacious than anticipated. They would begin harassing my father and I when we walked about between acts constantly badgering about our secrets offering money and partnerships but they did not realize that I did what I did to bring joy for others not money. My father being a man from humble beginnings was loyal to me and helping me realize my dreams so neither of us were swayed by offers like this.

By the time I was twenty one I was the most famous illusionist in all of London. I had theaters fill up months in advance for my shows and my illusions were unparalleled at the time using mirrors and fog and chemical reactions science only proved to elevate my illusions allowing me to achieve a higher level than I would ever imagine while simultaneously learning all I could of modern knowledge and technology. Unfortunately for me others were willing to go to any length to achieve what they wished. During my last performance I was doing the final act with my father in which he throws a sword at me and it strikes me in the chest leaving me somehow unharmed. The trick was using a powerful magnet to cause the blade to turn at the last moment having the dull side make contact with my chest and not harming me. As he prepared to throw the sword a man rushed the stage getting by the security and knocking my father over causing him to drop the blade. As the man took the sword he yelled the name of a competing magician as he thrusted the blade forward it piercing through me and pinning me to the stage as he tackled me to the ground. As the blade ran me through I strangely did not feel pain but instead hear my father telling me those words he would tell me as a child. "For out of the ground we are taken for the dust we are..." I heard the words echo through my mind as I reached my arm out not trying to stop the man but grasping for my father.

My father rushed to my side holding me tight and sobbing as security tackled the man and everyone seemed to rush the edge of the stage surprised by this magic act becoming a drama. He sit at my side looking from me to the blade in horror not knowing what to do. My eyes began to water not in fear of my own life but seeing the joy I had given my father beginning to slip from him. I could feel the life slipping from my body my big eyes remained full of wonder as they looked up at him a soft smile across my face. "And to the dust we shall return." I whispered softly to him as my hand weakly brushed a tear from his face. As everything began to go dark I could hear a small chuckle and my fathers gaze soften and a smile cross his lips, that joy returned if only for a moment as I passed but it was all I needed. That parting smile was the resolution I was desperately working for and my hand fell limp as I left this plane of existence.



[Rebirth]
As I was born again I awoke in the same clothes I died in, I quite enjoyed that outfit having picked it out with my father and often wearing it when not on stage so I decided to keep wearing it. My demise may have been untimely but I was strangely calmed by this new place and not saddened by my murder. This new world I came into seemed just as amazing as the previous except everything in this world is foreign. I felt my eyes once again filling up with wonder as I began to wander Sereitei exploring all it could have. As I was walking I felt a sudden weight and found myself forced to my knees by some strange force, it felt like an ocean of something had washed over me and was burying me. I forced my gaze upward and saw a man in white staring at me with a phlegmatic look. Those crimson eyes gazed at me before he strode off into the distance and the weight lifted. My eyes could not open wide enough as what I had stumbled upon would change the course of my new life. I saw real magic, not illusions but man bending the elements to their will. My eyes could not believe it and I was amazed at how they were able to summon things like this from what appeared to be nothing.

I approached the men training with no hesitation drawn helplessly to this power like a moth to flame. Upon being told it had a name and multiple fields I was instantly drawn to its allure and beauty wanting nothing more than to master it as I had mastered illusion in my previous life. I was told in order to gain permission to begin this discipline I must enroll and become something called a shinigami. I did not care what sacrifice I needed to make to pursue this new found dream, I had seen real magic and I knew I must see more.

I enrolled as soon as I could and began to pour all my time into Kido devoting myself completely to it. I wanted to learn all aspects even the healing kido although I had no intention of joining said squad I knew in order to truly master something you must be well versed in all fields. I gave the required time to swordplay but just did not have a knack for it and began to despise it the more I was forced to practice. It could have been that a blade was the cause of my death and I knew it caused my father such pain the one person in the last worl I lived that I truly cared for, but in truth I did not know. All I did know was that when that sword was in my hand I did not feel whole, it was as if holding that blade took something away from me and I found myself "forgetting" it more and more. As I began to hate swordplay I tried other types of fighting and found a nack for hand to hand combat. It was like a dance much faster and more intimate that swordplay and I had to admit I was drawn to this but Kido remained my one true love. I seemed to breeze through the academy although the more I excelled the less time I spent with my zanpakuto. I was told I was supposed to spend as much time with it as possible and that it would reflect my soul but how could a sword reflect me when I despised the thing? All I saw when I looked at it was the pain in my fathers eyes and the feeling of cold steel being pushed through my chest.

I was beginning to doubt my role here in the sereitei everyone speaking about zanpakutos being the core of their being and the defining characteristic of them some of my classmates even slept with theirs saying being with it while asleep made their connection closer. During the end of our time here at the academy we took a trip to the world of the living to learn more about the plane we are to protect. When we arrived our guide allowed us to split up into groups saying we would be fine especially since we had our zanpakuto and only extremely love level hollow would be out by design of our instructor. I resentfully carried mine having it slung over my back so that I would not be able to see it while exploring.

I was wandering the streets taking in my surroundings and observing the changes in the world that had occurred since I had passed on when my enjoyment was interrupted by the screams of a woman. I whirled on my heels and took off hearing the source from the nearby forest. I came in to see a large beast of a hollow preparing to eat this woman. I charged the beast and fired off what had become my favorite and most powerful kido byakurai which knocked the beast back doing significant damage and giving the woman enough time to run.

After helping her escape I returned my attention to the enemy just in time to feel an incredulously large fist come in contact with my side and send my flying through the air and crashing into the ground. As I hit my blade was torn from its sling which kept it on my back and now lay on the ground before me. As my blurring vision began to refocus I heard it. The wise voice of what would become my closest company. It started out soft at first but as my vision returned it became louder. "Take this sword, and with it you shall do my wonders." It spoke to me as the beast before me let out a howl signifying it was preparing to feast.

I scrambled forward and took the zanpakuto in my hands its name coming to me as I spoke the words and a blinding light erupted forth from me engulfing me and my opponent temporarily blinding him from view. As the light dulled my the blade was gone and that piece of me that I had felt was take suddenly was returned. The hollow returned its attention to me and raised its arm high swinging it down intending to squash me like a bug. I raised my left hand up to protect myself from the incoming blow when suddenly the attack stopped as it made contact with my body. I felt stronger suddenly. As if being struck had somehow empowered me. The beast attack again and yet the same thing occurred. I chuckled looking to myself in wonder seeing what power I had been given. I raised my left hand to the beast and touched my finger to its chest as it howled whispered a single word as a bolt of while lightning erupted forth piercing through the hollow and igniting the night sky as it streaked away. I stood in triumph as my sensei arrived soon after watching my prey dissipate as he arrived.

He then told me my gift was very special as it appeared my release was a very rare one in that I remained in shikai all the time. I smiled as I could now speak with my zanpakuto on command and our relationship began to flourish. He became the voice of reason in my life guiding and supporting me the same way my father had when I was alive. Within the next week I graduated the academy and was accepted into squad 6 immediately due to my prowess with kido.

I then began to work taking every opportunity to hone my kido and perfect my shikai. As I began to climb the ranks going from an unseated soldier to a seated on my shikai did not seem to gain any abilities. Some of the others would mock my zanpakuto saying it was worthless but they did not see the power of the one ability it granted me. I spent my time speaking with my precious spirit while continuing to master my shikai and all the kido I possibly could. Doing this while maintaining such a positive and cheerful nature seemed to allow me to climb the ranks even when told that those around me did not like my ability. Though through prowess in battle I began to win them over and gain their praise. I lost most of my fear as time went on, it appeared I could not be killed at least by the current level of ignorant animal I fought.

As I continued to rise through the ranks going from the lower seats to higher I began to focus my time and skills so that I could truly excel in the proper fields. I knew I had to be weak in somethings and so my speed and swordsmanship were neglected I have to admit, but my kido seemed to continue to grow impressing my superiors at my knowledge and natural talent for someone of my rank.

After what seemed like an eternity I have finally reached second in command of the squad I love. I do not have any current desire to attempt to become captain knowing that if I did I would be doing more paperwork than learning and I know the day that happens I will not want to be a shinigami anymore.

Name: Seishou
Sealed Appearance: A standard wood zanpakuto which had a matching wood guard and wood hilt. It looks extremely plain and bears resemblance to practice swords which academy students use.
Release Command: "Seishou, let me do your wonders"
Shikai Appearance: Once the words are spoken Ash will sheathe his sword and a hold it over his head. As he does a light will emanated from his sword and temporarily obscure Ash from view. When the light faded Ashes blade will have disappeared appearing to leave him without a sword.
Shikai Techniques/Abilities

Absorb: Ash only has one ability when in Shikai. When he releases his blade it appears as if the blade just disappears but in reality what is happening is that Ashs zanpakuto is breaking up into tons of tiny particles which then are absorbed into the pores of Ashes skin. These particles then give Ash the ability to absorb energy coming from opponents. Though in truth the particles of Seishou are absorbing the energy and then converting it for Ash. The type of energy that can be absorbed are Kinetic, Reiatsu based attack, and Heat.

There are limitations and effects to this ability though:

*The energy absorbed by attacks can only be converted to reiatsu meaning that the primary use for this ability is support, allowing for defense and restock of reiatsu. Ash primarily uses this to allow him to cast more kido in battle gaining him a fearful reputation of having a relatively unlimited pool to cast kido so long as he can continue absorbing attacks.

*Ash cannot use shunpo or any speed techniques above dashing and air walk.

*A large amount of energy must be absorbed for this to work. Small attacks will be absorbed but the conversion rate is not perfect meaning that they will not net anything for Ash to use. This primarily applies to kinetic energy meaning that most kinetic energy absorbed is not converted and instead merely used as a defensive measure. (Releases that grant increases in strength then become applicable to convert usable energy)

*Whenever energy is absorbed Ashes weight will increase. Since he cannot increase his speed due to a limitation of the release his weight must increase as he gains more energy. This is one of the major weak points in the technique making it that if Ash is not able to cast spells near constantly (while absorbing energy) or does not have time he will basically be a sitting duck and in turn will end up subduing himself.

*In order for this ability to work Ash needs energy to absorb (When not absorbing direct techniques the particles absorb the ambient energy in the area). If his opponent uses something that is able to reduce energy (Such as ice related abilities) Ash will not be able to absorb any attacks making his shikai a problem rather than any help. He will basically be stuck without a sword and limited to just absorbing physical blows which do not produce much energy for Ash to use. If Ash goes more than a few minutes (Two posts) without absorbing energy his body will begin to weaken to Seishous effect allowing him to be damaged my physical attacks. The only way for Ash to reverse this effect is to absorb a kido based attack. (It is important to note that the ice related technique must be of significant size to reduce the ambient energy in the area.

*Ash cannot fire kido and absorb energy at the same time. Meaning if he is firing a kido at one opponent he cannot absorb any sort of attack making it so that he can be harmed while firing kido. This is the greatest weakness and the one Ash attempts to hide the most. While casting a kido or healing someone or expelling energy his body is applicable to be harmed by any of the above mentioned types of energy (Kinetic, Heat, Reiatsu). This means he is most vulnerable when attacking.

History
You mentioned 'late 1800's' when speaking of your character's life as a human and list his age as 300, but the guild is set in early 21st century so there's a time discrepancy there.

Kido
I would suggest you toss in some Hido spells as well since those are only accessible to Kido Corps.

Hoho and Swordsmanship
The PM you had sent me discussing these implied that he couldn't advance any further in these categories, at least from what I understood. I would like you to specify that in these sections unless you had meant that only when he is in Shikai mode?
