Lucasta learned her way around the city as she explored it.
It was a bustling place, full of loud vehicles and chattering people going to and fro. It smelled of foul things, grease from those establishments which served food, piss and filth down dank alleys overflowing with garbage, smoke and rot and all manner of unpleasant things. Lucasta's nose twitched as she explored, offended by the smell.
She craved the smell of flowers, of water and fresh air. There was little of that to be had in this city. The small patches of landscaping brought so little green to a place in desperate need of it.
Which was likely why she spent so much time skulking around the parks at night. There were a couple she frequented, or perhaps the destinations were merely two parts of a whole; they looked more or less alike. She drank the water from streams, batted at the fish in the ponds, prowled the shadows in search of food. She found squirrels mostly, out gathering nuts for the winter.
When she was done with them, there was not a trace of them left.
This night, as luck would have, she happened upon her favorite prey—a plump little rabbit. Luasta slunk low on the ground, ears flattened back, backside wiggling with impatience, waiting for the opportune moment to strike.Orangeish Sherbert A start for you as promised~!

Lysithea had been feeling something strange out tonight, and she was trying to figure out just what it could be…when she saw to terribly cute creatures. Two. At once. A cat and a fat little bunny rabbit. The senshi crept close and laughed. “Hey there, kitty! What are you doing out here? Why aren’t you all nice and warm at home?”
The senshi reached out, wanting to pet the cat, though figuring that like most cats…it would just run away. Oh well. At least she was gonna try. There was no harm in trying with anything…and what if the cat was a guardian cat, wouldn’t that just be funny as anything.
If it was though, maybe it could answer what the funny aura was. Because…she really wanted to know.

Startled by the sudden sound of a voice, the rabbit scampered off and made a break for it, furiously hopping into the bushes and out of sight.
Lucasta would have followed if the interruption had come from an ordinary human. Alas, this was not an ordinary human, but a Senshi, and her sense of duty kept her where she was as the rabbit drifted further and further away. She straightened to look at the girl, eyeing her with displeasure.

Lysithea blinked. Well. It was funny as anything. “I didn’t expect you to actually talk back, Ms. Cat…But, it’s nice to meet you, I guess. I’m Lysithea, Senshi of Unicorns, but I’m sure you already knew that…you know, being a guardian, and all…”
She trailed off, looking a bit guilty at having made the cat lose her dinner…that had not been her intention, not even a little bit. “If you wanted, I could make it up to you…you could come to my house and I can stop somewhere and get you some fish or whatever you wanted to eat…I didn’t mean to make you lose your dinner, and I don’t want you to go hungry…”
She didn’t like the look she was getting from the cat…it made her uncomfortable and made her feel very sad and guilty. Why on earth should a cat make her feel guilty? The thing shouldn’t be eating rabbit anyway. She should be curled up on some nice lady’s feet, purring contently and eating some fancy cat food like the cats in commercials.
Pah. Rabbits.

“If you are familiar with Guardian Cats, why should you not expect that I would talk?” she said.
Indeed, Lucasta could sense who this Senshi was. Lysithea. It was a familiar name to her. A Jovian name. This girl was of one of the Jovian moons. Perhaps she could help Lucasta find Ganymede.
With that thought in mind, Lucasta settled down a bit more and lost some of the imperiousness with which she'd initially met Lysithea. She felt an immediate sense of warmth toward the girl she didn't feel for other Senshi. Lysithea may not be her bonded, but she was from the same collection of moons, and she was as deserving of loyalty from Lucasta as she would have received from Ganymede.
“That sounds quite pleasant,” Lucasta agreed. Rabbit may be her favorite, but she could be persuaded to consume something else so long as it wasn't anything disgusting. “Lead the way, Lysithea. And tell me about yourself. Who awakened you? Who are your allies?”Orangeish Sherbert I AM SO PROUD BB. SO PROUD. <333

“Well, I wasn’t completely sure you were a Guardian Cat, so…I wasn’t completely sure you could talk. That’s all.” She was kind of reserving judgment for this cat…she seemed kind of snooty…but she figured that she would be snooty too if someone had come up and scared her meal away…good bye, pizza, you sounded so delicious.
Or something like that.
Before she know what was happening, the cat had agreed to come home with her for the night. Well, that was nice. Hopefully this cat liked to cuddle, because that was the best thing cats were for. Cuddling and being cute and fluffy and fat…
Lysithea grinned. “All right. I’ll lead the way.”
She began walking, trying to rembmer the answer to the Guardian’s question. “Um…a nice fat cat named Aradia awakened me…but it was quite a long time ago…as for my allies…I don’t really know if I even have any…I mean, I don’t have anyone that I hang out with or fight with…I guess I’m just a loner…”
She sighed slightly and shrugged. “You never told me your name, kitty cat. I think that’s kind of not fair, you know?”Sunshine Alouette LOOK I TAGGED YOU AGAIN. OWO

Lucasta looked mildly offended to hear that this Senshi was a loner. It was a concept she didn't entirely understand, even being a loner herself. Lysithea should have plenty of allies. That as just how things were... or should be...
“My name is Lucasta,” she said shortly.
She peered up at Lysithea with narrowed eyes, full of questions, though she figured she may want to take things slow for now. She'd yet to judge Lysithea's merit. (The offer of food, however, earned Lucasta's temporary approval.)
Perhaps the reason Lysithea had no allies was because few of them had been awakened. That would make Lucasta's job more difficult in the long run.
“What of Ganymede?” she said. “What of the Jovians? Are they not your allies?”

Lysithea shrugged. “It’s nice to meet you, Lucasta. I like your name, it’s lovely.” She thought for a moment, walking back towards her apartment. The Jovians, hm? And Ganymede? What a strange name that was.
“I’m not sure who…or what Ganymede or the Jovians are…but no, they’re not my allies…should they be? Are they people?”
Or maybe they were some sort of singing group. Ganymede and the Jovians, for one night, and one night only. Oh yeah. Rock on, Destiny City. Rock on.
The senshi laughed a little at the thought. Well, she wouldn’t mind befriending a band…but the way Lucasta was talking, they had to be senshi or something.

Lucasta sputtered, hardly believing Lysithea had no idea who or what she was talking about.
“The Jovians are your allies,” she insisted. Her voice was full of passion as she spoke. “Moons of Jupiter, like yourself. Ganymede is one of them. She is mine.”
Really, this was no good. No good at all. What were the Jovians doing that one of their own remained unaware of who they even were? How many of them had awakened? There were so many of them, surely at least one...
But Lysithea seemed genuinely confused. It was almost embarrassing.
“We must rectify this situation,” Lucasta decided. “I will assist you in locating them.”

Lysithea blinked. “All right then. Um. Assist away.” Moons of Jupiter, hm? Is that what she was from? That was kind of…silly. And here she thought that Lysithea was such a pretty name, and was something unique…or special or something…but.
She was just a moon of Jupiter. One of a million…or one of quite a few…so.
“If she’s yours…then why aren’t you with her right now? Why isn’t she taking care of you?” Isn’t that what happened with Guardian cats? They found the ones they wanted to be with and then they stayed with them forever? The senshi sighed. “You know, Lucasta, I don’t know if I’m really all that interested in meeting the other Jovians. Is it really that important? Why are they such a big deal? They’ve never bothered to come and interact with me before so…Maybe I’d rather just make my own way, if you’re okay with that.”

“I have not been able to locate Ganymede since I—...”
Since she what? She couldn't remember anything prior to a specific day. It was sort of like she'd just popped into existence one day, only that was silly and impossible, so that couldn't be the most accurate explanation for what had happened to her. Lucasta was sure there had been something before, she just didn't know what it was.
But that wasn't important right now. Lysithea didn't need to be troubled by Lucasta's lack of memory.
“I've been searching for her, but there are few clues as to her whereabouts,” she said.
She gave Lysithea a stern look. “You cannot fight this war on your own. You require allies. If you have no interest in the Jovians then you must find others to align yourself with. Solitude is dangerous in troubled times.”

Lysithea shrugged. “I don’t see why you’re trying to jump down my throat about getting allies…I haven’t really had any up to now, I don’t see why I should have to bother with getting any from this point on. It’s not really that big of a deal…I’ve done just fine on my own, and I’m sure it’ll continue to keep going that way.”
She sighed. “I really do hope that you find this Ganymede, it seems like she’s pretty important to you…so…I wish you the best of luck. We’re almost at my house so…dinner isn’t far away now. That’s always a good thing, right?”
She glanced around and let her senshi form melt away, not wanting anyone to be able to connect the fact that a senshi lived at her place…so.
“I’m called Cambria normally…what is it you want for supper? Chicken sound okay? I’ve been craving some chicken parmesan.”

Lucasta was two seconds away from launching into a long winded lecture about the importance of allies when she decided it was best to hold her tongue. If brief comments on the subject were going to result in obstinance, certainly a lecture wouldn't be any better.
She would have to go slowly with this one. Sooner or later, Lysithea would learn that Lucasta was right. Lucasta was sure of that.
Besides, the topic of dinner was the perfect distraction for a starving cat.
Lucasta licked her chops appreciatively. “It is nice to meet you, Cambria. Chicken would be acceptable. I thank you for your kindness. ”

Cambria gave a little laugh, shaking her head. “You’re pretty cute I suppose. Thank you for being…uh. A guardian. You have a tough job, so…you do it well.” She brought Lucasta into her apartment and began the task of cooking.
Sure the cat wasn’t ideal, but she was a friendly…ish face in the house and that was better than being alone. She smiled a little.
Maybe having allies wouldn’t be so bad…
Maybe.
But she sure wasn’t going to tell Lucasta that. No, the cat would really have to earn any concessions from her. Yes indeed.
