The Kawani lands are a relatively peaceful place, or such is their reputation. Many have herds that sprawl over the green pastures of the plains, there are pods of merds and seathi that live along the coastlines, and soquili of all sizes, numbers, and temperaments raise families and roam freely from the mountains, to the deserts, and everything in between.
But not all is as it seems. There are kalona that can wage war or wreak havoc among the lands; there are the cursed soquili that become nightmares; there are purewalkers, demonic beasts that hunt those unawares and put fear in even the strongest of hearts. Thankfully, these sorts of monsters are rare enough, and some may never cross paths with such darkness.
You are one of those lucky sorts. The world has been, if anything, mundane. The sun is shining, the birds are singing, and the legends and tales of the great heroes of the past echo through. Adventure calls to you, and it's something you are determined to find. Today is going to be a day that changes everything. . .besides, a little excitement never hurt anyone, right?
