A pause. A shudder. A shuffle of wings. A thud. Landing was becoming a thrill gain. D'aiyn hadn't really flown since his encounter with his father, D'mitri. The blight had gotten away, but not without D'reighton taking to his side and injuring his brotherin the process. Ever since then, Mother had appeared distraught that D'mitri was still alive. Cousin Talon and Sharsa had calmed her rage, however, suggesting that the damage was done. Whatever that meant. D'aiyn really didn't listen much. What was the point of that? All he knew in his world was hunt, seize, conquer, kill, survive...words were dumb. No use to him. His wing had healed nicely thanks to the supervision of his family, and now he was back to flying and training. His other two brothers had gone out into the world leaving D'aiyn alone. That was fine. He didn't need them. He really didn't need anyone. But he liked the idea of company. Even if sometimes they were mean and nasty to him. At least there was always someone there. That's all that had mattered to D'aiyn. But...something still felt empty. Something still felt unfulfilled. Is that why he went this far out from the territory? What was he searching for?

Emerald orbs, nestled behind long lashes surveyed the lands with an emptiness that none could explain. It was just something she did and for no reason in particular. She would just take in her surroundings with no signs of interest or need for exploration. At least that's how it used to be. As of late, something had led her to be restless and more temperamental than usual. Being around her family would flare her temper. Why? She couldn't even begin to comprehend the reasoning but something just didn't feel right. It was like something was missing and she just couldn't figure out what that something was. Food? No, she'd eaten earlier. Cuddles? No. She'd been given affection from her mother earlier that day too. Frustrated she sighed, her snow white locks spilling and front of her features and she hung her lead low. What ever this new feeling was, she didn't like it one bit.

It seemed his hooves started moving with him realizing it. A slight flick of his tail and the movement of his eyes seemed to be the only thing he could control. Searching. Ever searching. But for what? This drive was unnatural, and it somewhat bothered him.

But then something caught his eye. Something bright against the landscape. He then stepped into that direction. One hoof in front of the other it seemed; eyes intent on the figure slowly becoming clearer and clearer. The figure was one like him...yellow with blue stripes...white mane...horn..green eyes..and a female. A female that was not his mother. Suddenly, D'aiyn stopped and was quite aware of what he looked like and the idea that he had no clue what to do. And yet his muscles quivered as if he wanted to continue onward. It was sheer will that kept him from moving.

(sorry this took so long. been having issues coming up with a response)

Just when she was about to shake off her frustration and move on something caught her attention. Carried by the oncoming breeze, a new and strange scent greeted her nose. It was heavy with musk, though not unpleasantly so for lingering within it was a hint of saffron and dew. Raising her head curiously, she allowed her eyes to scan the landscape until a distant figure came into her view. Leaning forward just slightly, she squinted her eyes studying the strangers features. Deep purple with crackles of teal lightning decorating their pelt...lavender hair...crimson colored eyes...a horn and male. Not only were they male but this male had wings!

Without a moments hesitation she began a steady pace towards him, mind blank of the possible danger she could be walking into. She was more pressed to figure out if this was going to be a friend...a real friend that could understand her and not leave like the rest.

DawnThe Dark Morningstar

[S'all good. Sometimes it's difficult to get the rhythm of the RP]

A snort left his nostrils. Breathing had become heavier, daresay even labored. Was this fear that struck him? In all his years, D'aiyn had never known fear. There was no point to it. Nothing could beat him. He was large, imposing, strong, defiant, dangerous. There was no force on Earth that would not bend to his will.

Yet here he was. Cold. Frozen in place as she moved toward him in a careless manner, as if it were just another day to her. His gaze was thick with interest taking every detail, burning it into his mind. Why was she here? Could she speak? Was she like Mother or not Mother? Her thick braid hung about her neck, slightly tousled along with feathers. Long, glorious tail shimmering behind her in the sun. Golden coat with dark blue stripes only emphasized her frame. And the eyes. The green eyes came closer and closer until D'aiyn felt as if he would drown in them. Her smell was intoxicating. It wasn't heavy, but it was unlike anything he ever experienced...as if the female had bathed in flowers. Lilies exactly. He began to wonder what his other senses would tell him about her.

As she neared, D'aiyn kept completely still. Wings snapped close to his sides, keeping his clawed hands clasped tightly behind his rump, underneath his short tail. But he then began to feel grossly aware of his appearance. He couldn't hide his horn nor his clawed hooves. Thank the Fates he wasn't like his other brothers, D'art with all of his hair and webbing; or D'von with all of his spikes and no hair. But D'reighton...D'reighton was better than him. He was glad that D'reighton was not there now for surely the female would rather interact with his older brother than him. Heart beating in his ears, his mind continued to roam and rove unaware of how close she had gotten.

In time Mahina's stride came to a halt leaving just a foot of distance between the two of them. She canted her head to the left and then to the right while she tried to figure out just what exactly her next move would be. He indeed was a strange site, one that she was not used to but she wasn't put off by him in the slightest. Instead she felt drawn to him, felt as if he were beckoning her to come closer with a voice that she could not hear. The compulsion filled her with fear but at the same time it filled her with excitement. For the first time in her life she felt a spark. She felt alive. Fear had never been an emotion to cross her mind or an emotion that could grip her physically and yet here it was making her tremble. He had some strange hold over her and she liked it.

For the first time ever caution ruled her movements. Emerald pools remained transfixed on his visage, monitoring every tick and twitch the taught muscles beneath his pelt made all the while walking a circle around him. She she walked around him observing and studying, she slowly closed the distance between the two until finally the side of her rump gently rubbed against his own during her passing. As she came along his other side, she gave his wing a gentle n** trying to rouse it into spreading and showing its full span.

DawnThe Dark Morningstar

A loud lub dub noise roared in his ears. His barrel chest rose and fell harshly as if he was scrambling to draw breath. Every fiber of his being twitched and rolled as her green eyes studied him. D'aiyn didn't feel threatened as he found his own red orbs seizing her image. He began to wonder what she would have looked like if she bore wings. The draco-stallion could imagine them now: strong yet petite with tiger stripe membranes and golden claws. Her white braid and tail would stream behind her as she danced through the skies soaking up the glory of the sun. How she would blaze as she flew never wanting to come down...

His gaze was fixed even as his head moved to follow her. It was only when he felt the sudden touch of her that he jumped. D'aiyn lost his composure as his wings suddenly jerked and violently snapped open, a part of his wing smacking her side and rump in the process. He reared again in surprise at his own self pawing at the air as he backed away, tail waving furiously as his wings attempted to keep his balance. It was all over just as fast as it had began with D'aiyn's four hooves back on the ground, wings still spread outward and upward as he stood a foot or so away from her. Head held high, he snorted, keeping at least one red eye on her. What sort of magic would the she-devil cast next, he wondered.

She jumped to the side in surprise when his wing struck her in its flaring. Their span in combination with him rearing up struck a chord within her. In her ears all she could hear was the rapid beating of her heart. Her breathing went shallow and her eyes remained transfixed on him, time seemingly slowing down to a crawl. Heat flushed to her face and within seconds orange spread across her cheeks as a feeling of electricity ran the length of her spine. His posture commanded respect and imbued superiority and power and yet again he beckoned her to come closer with a unspoken voice. She could only oblige. She wanted to. Ear pins back, she lowered her head in submission as she inched closer to him, only pressing her side against his own once close enough while raising her head just enough to place her nose gently against the underside of his jaw.

She wasn't sure how she knew, but she was meant to meet him. Meant to submit to him. Meant to be a companion that would provide a common understanding. She for the first time felt whole. She'd found a soul mate and even if it didn't result in anything romantic it didn't matter because he could understand her and communicate with her on an entirely different level that was so foreign to the others. Such a find made her heart flutter and she gave out an excited churr.

D'aiyn slowly began to calm. His chest heaved still as the adrenaline coursed through his body. Hot blood pumped through his veins, muscles twitching from his sudden burst. Nostrils were flared as his whole body was on alert. Part of him wanted to run. Part of him wanted to stay. The stallion was at a complete loss on what to do. And yet when their eyes met, he felt something. Red locked onto green, he couldn't stray his gaze as she yet again began to move closer. Fear welled up in him as ever muscle and fiber of his being was bent on staying stone. What if she came close again? What if he snapped, took off, and never saw her again? The thought made his heart stop for a moment. Why would that matter if he never saw her again? Mind racing, he gave a slight jump as he felt her drawing closer. D'aiyn snapped his eyes closed unable to watch what would happen if they came in contact again. Her touch was too much the first time. Would it cripple him or her the second time? What was she doing around him anyway? This...mare...this female...first female he had ever seen and she was all over him even though his soul bled nothing but violence and confusion. He was dark; a brooding beast that most would have run from at first sight. D'aiyn didn't know how to feel, how to communicate, how to be. Barb raised him with a warrior's touch, not a mother's love.

But then suddenly, there was contact. Her side pressed against his own, and her nose even touching underneath his cheek. And then there was silence and stillness. He didn't snap. The stallion could scarcely believe it. This madness? Did it have no end? He was a monster and she was...not to put it simply. And yet feeling her touch as she returned to his side even after his display made his whole body convulse and mind wander. With mental doors opened, he closed his eyes allowing her in as he pushed his way into her thoughts with a rough tenderness. I...won't hurt you... The male gave a grunt and a snort as he slowly lowered his wings, one folding while the other came around her frame squeezing her close; tucked in his head to gently press her snout to his throat. I'm..confused...this...is all strange...who are you? It occurred to him that he didn't know a damn about his mare except that he felt as though they were of the same puzzle, and the pieces were slowly coming into place. Sing me your name, my Little Light.

A haze took hold of her mind and her eyes became glossed and half lidded. There it was, a door right in front of her. Slowly it opened and the wider it became, the faster her heart would beat. Finally it was open to her and she hesitated. She could be sure why but suddenly she felt so insecure. She feared not being good enough, she feared that she would find nothing but confusion...nothing but the emptiness that she felt on a daily basis. What if they wouldn't be able to communicate? What if he wouldn't be able to understand her as she had hoped? What if...All the doubt ceased it's onslaught when she felt that familiar tug of his calling to her and she followed that calling blinding, pushing past the veil that kept his thoughts guarded and upon her entering she felt a wave slam into her own thoughts. The fact that he held her close with his wing and tucked her nose to his throat is the only reason she was still able to stand so unused to a connection of this magnitude.

It was then that she heard it, truly heard it. The beautiful song that had been that voice that lured her to him in the first place. Her eyes welled with tears and relief settled in. There was not confusion nor was their emptiness. Finally she felt whole and she was certain that he was the other half of her soul. Everything felt right in the world and all of her frustrations and anger melted away. A...She paused, shock taking hold. Was that....was that her voice? And I won't hurt you. Soft chuffs left her throat and she nuzzled against his throat. I...I am confused too but...but you can understand me...truly understand me. Mother calls me her moonlight. My name...Mahina...Dark Mahina.

Within the world of their minds, he waited ever so patiently. He could almost see her as she strode through the door connecting the two together. He forced his breathing to slow, but his grip on the mare tightened to squeeze her even closer. And then as they fully connected, he could feel his heart stop; the wind was almost knocked from him as he physically took a breath. Her light...her soul was so beautiful. If it wasn't for the fact he was holding her, he would have dropped to the ground instantly. Such purity washing and waving through him. And her eyes...if was if they could see right through his very core. D'aiyn was utterly and completely lost in her; their physical and mental embrace steel.

Another wave of convulsions went through him. Her voice was so...gentle. This was definitely something he was not used to, but he welcomed it as wholly as he welcomed her. I know you won't... He couldn't help as the rumble of a chuckle left his throat. The sound was...strange...he had never really laughed before. You let me in as I have let you in. All of us are one now. We are confused, but we are together. I understand you as you understand me, Little Light. D'aiyn decided he could listen to her all day and night. The sweet serenade of her voice calmed and soothed his inner beast. It was if her light warmed his demons...culled them to a slumber. Dark Mahina...My Dark Mahina. Your mother knew your heart when she birthed and named you. I can feel the love you and your family have. The bonds are strong.... D'aiyn took in a deep breath. She would find out of his origins sooner. They were sharing mind and memories after all. I have no such luck. I am a tool of destruction, marring the beauty that is your soul. I fear I will destroy the purity that is you, but I can at least you tell you my name before I go. I am D'aiyn. It was true. He didn't need to stick around as much as he felt like he needed to. After encountering and connecting with her on such a level, how could he walk away? His brain kept telling him it was to keep her safe from his insanity and blood obsessed family. But his heart was begging him to stay. Urging him to toss aside the wickedness and be happy...could he truly do such without destroying what was slowly becoming the most important part of his life?
PostPosted: Mon Feb 09, 2015 9:11 pm

Just as he could listen to her day and night, she too could listen to him. She wanted to hear his voice at all hours of the day. She wanted to hear his voice even when she slept. Dare she admit it, she wanted to be with him always. The darkness within him did nothing to scare her away. Even after seeing just what sort of beast he could be, she still wanted him to be with her always. He was not a monster of his own choosing. He was a monster because his mother willed it. He hadn't chosen his fate, it was chosen for him much like her fate had been chosen for her. Trapped within a husk that could not speak, unable to express herself properly...being both the joy and bane of her family. Yes she had been showered in love and yes the bond she had with them was strong but as pure as D'aiyn saw her to be, she too was a monster in her own right. Episode of rage would blind her and she would lash out on the ones she loved. She was trapped within an inescapable madness that was slowly consuming her but now that madness ebbed away, her own demons slipping away into a level of dormancy.

No, do not go. Do not leave. Stay with me. Stay and let me shower you in the love you so rightly deserve. I do not see a tool of destruction. I see a beacon of salvation. You are so much more than what you were forced to be. As much as she pleaded, she knew that that would still leave and her heart ached with defeat for she too had to leave him. Even though her parents were loving and understanding, she knew they'd take one good look at him and try to shield her from him because all they would see is the beast instead of the beautiful being she had the blessing of meeting. If you must truly leave...then I have no choice but to let you go. Will we at least be able to see each other again, free from fear and ridicule?

Her light was warm and comforting. Staying there with her was so...how could he put it? Mahina was a drug that he couldn't stop inhaling. She was burning him up from the inside out and yet he wanted to fuel her fire even more until there was nothing left of him to give. The stallion hugged her closer, tighter as if memorizing every curve of her body; the intoxication of her scent; the feel of her warmth on his pelt; and the coolness of her breath. In his mind, he was holding her even closer as their souls danced and merged. It was simply euphoric. Being able to express himself this way...D'aiyn would never have dreamed of this. Never had thought to meet such a succubus that took him in for everything he was - and enjoy it so. They were both monsters, both dark in their own sort of messed up way. Their paths, their life...it wasn't chosen for them. But they could chose this...He could chose her as she chose him.

Taking a breath, D'aiyn had to force himself to pull away. Her cries almost broke him in pieces as he opened his eyes, wisps of his mind and soul retreating back into his own being and in turn, letting go of hers. Not trusting himself to speak, he quickly turned away galloping off as fast as he could. D'aiyn couldn't stay, couldn't allow her to drown deeper...it would ruin her. He couldn't destroy something as pure as Dark Mahina. His life was already too ******** up to allow anyone else in...especially her. Barb would be furious.

--- Le Time Skip ---

How long had it been since he was in this field? Days? Weeks? Ever since he had met Dark Mahina, he had been unable to sleep, and forced himself to eat in fear of suspicion from his clan. Barb had smelled the other female on her said, but said nothing. She supposed that the blood of the beast needed to quell urges. It sickened him further that she even encouraged it during training sessions. He refused to allow any such thoughts in his mind however. It was disturbing enough to hear such thoughts from Barb. He was already wrestling his own demons. For starters, leaving her the way that he did. D'aiyn thought if he did it quick enough, she would forget. It would be all over. But he didn't think about himself or how it would effect him. So here he was back in this field hoping out of some part of him that she had missed him..and that she would be here too.

To feel him pull away, to feel him push her out of the door had had welcomed her into, to fill the threads of his very soul be torn from her own piece by piece was more painful than anything she'd ever experienced. Not only did her soul cry out for him and beg him to return to her...plead with him not to leave but her body quaked and a distraught and pain filled scream left her mouth as tears blurred her vision a trickled down her cheeks, dampening her orange pelt and staining it. Her light...her beacon quickly fading away just as his own visage did until finally he was beyond what her sight allowed her to see. For hours she stood there, snow white hair billowing in the passing breeze and for hours she waited for him to return. Yet when the sun arose and he did not return, she lost her hope and retreated back home.

Her mother, father and siblings greeted her with a great deal of concern, inspected her, made sure that she hadn't been hurt, tried to figure out why it had taken her so long to return home but she paid them no mind. In fact, she walked pased them as if they were nothing but shades of the other world. Her green orbs were as dull as they had been the night she was born...no, they were dead. Even then she had a small spark of life in those emerald pools of hers but now...now they were completely lifeless.

--Time skip--

The separation was taking a toll on her. She did not eat, she did not sleep. She did nothing but look into the sky as if she was searching for something and everyday that went where that something wasn't seen, she retreated more and more into herself. Was he alive? Was he well? Was he happy where he was? She needed to get away. She needed to escape the eyes that watched her, away from the gentle nudges of her families attempts to brighten her mood. No. She needed him but would he ever return to her? She left her home and the instant her siblings tried to follow her, she stamped her hooves aggressively against the ground and chased them back before she ran off, back to the very field where she had met him.

It was only when she thought that she was truly alone that she stopped running and instead slowed her pace to a lost wander. Her head hung low and her mane as a result fell over her eyes like a veil. While she was convinced that she'd not see him, she took comfort in his scent. Wait...his scent? Could it really be...no. She was tired...imagining things. Oh how she missed him with everything that she was. She wondered if perhaps he missed her too.

As he wandered, he felt an itch in his mind that he couldn't ignore. Something that was tugging him...the same feeling that he got when he first met... Quickly and without any sort of reservation, the stallion spread his massive wings and after a heavy trot, took to the skies. It was dark, but thanks to his father, he could see. Massive wings kept him afloat as he scanned the fields impatiently. Her screams had haunted his dreams for far too long, and her pain was the last thing he left. How could he have been so foolish as to have left her in such a state? If he had cared for her so then why...why leave her in anguish?

D'aiyn had not been expecting the mental wall to be there, but he felt it. He felt it just after he flew over something. A quick look down was all he needed to confirm who he thought it was. Not wasting anymore time, he snapped his wings and started to plummet dangerously to the ground. He had been so high up it was a wonder he could spot Mahina, and yet how he could he not? She was a bright speck in the night, and he could sense her spirit anywhere. As he came close enough, his massive wings snapped open jarring him violently, but not enough to keep him from settling himself. He took the time to swoop over her acknowledging her of his presence. Even the gentlest touch of their minds sent his heart racing with anticipation.

Hurridly, D'aiyn landed behind Mahina only to turn his frame around and start trotting toward her. As they got closer, his mind open and a flood of emotions came rocketing toward her. Beloved. My Little Light. My Dark Mahina. He felt himself wash over her and as he came closer, his wings automatically spread out to wrap her into his embrace. Nothing made him doubt that she would reject him for he could feel her yearning for him was just as massive as his for her. Once he had her in his embrace, he would not let go this time. He couldn't survive without her.
