With a new skull belt buckle in hand, Harley bounded up the stairs and down the hall where she had left Dylon. She almost expected to find an empty hallway, but she lit up to find it occupied - he stayed. He promised he would stay and he did! That was pretty awesome. She picked up speed, and launched herself at the poor guy, tackling him with very little regard for personal space.

"I have a giant-a** axe!" She laughed out, shaking him wildly despite clinging to him like a human koala. "Isn't that so awesome! A giant axe! I think I get the better end of the deal though 'cuz she only whistles so there was like...a moment where I had to go through the alphabet and whistle once for no, twice for yes but you know-" Harley paused as she realized she was sliding on him, and just continued to do nothing about it.

"But this is so cool!" She repeated again, shaking his shoulders once more.

Dylon grinned, awaiting the lovely damsel to leap into his arms. However, she did not float. Rather, she exploded unto him, her limbs wrapped around him good and tight. He let out a strangled breath, still smiling despite the worry in his eyes. She was pretty damn excited about all of this. He was happy for her too.

He let her know with various grunts of approval and agreement. Eventually, she began to slide down, nearly taking his pants with her.

"S'great!" He squawked, freeing his arms and quickly trying to get her situated again. "So she doesn't talk? I think you lucked out big time." Vahn growled in rebuttal, making Dylon laugh aloud. "Some of us aren't so blessed."

"She whistles. I had to play the alphabet game to figure out her name one letter at a time." Which was considerably less fun than they made it look on TV, but hey, at least there was a way to get her answers. Soon enough she struggled out of his grasp, and put her feet back on the floor.

"That's what took me so long." She informed him, straightening her sweatpants and shirt. "AND - As promised, I have questions. You still free to answer them, or do I have to tackle someone else?"
PostPosted: Mon Dec 08, 2014 5:48 pm

"Well that sounds tedious." He laughed, "Hopefully as your bond grows, maybe you'll be able to understand her without words. I hear that's a real thing." Vahn huffed in irritation. The both of them didn't see that as a possibility for their own bond yet. Both so different. One too stubborn and one too flighty.

"As in literally tackle? No, I'll do just fine. Hopefully." After all, he was a trainee. A trainee with very little experience in the field.

"Jimmy yourself around to my back. I'll piggyback you to the kitchen. You must be hungry, right?" He'd cook her some lunch, and answer questions along the way.

"Maybe! For now, guessing game." She nodded a little bit, making a face at the whistle that echoed through her head. The idea made her hum, and she let out a laugh as she walked around him and hopped onto his back, bringing up her knees to his hips and her arms sliding around his neck.

"Food sounds great! I'm starving!" It had been an exciting day, and it wasn't over; nor was she about to let it be, either. "So like, Lament woke me up, right? How does she know who I am?"
PostPosted: Mon Dec 08, 2014 6:11 pm

"Sheeeee...." Dylon trailed off, not entirely certain of that fact either. He'd not questioned it at the time. It was something maybe he should have wondered of. He started towards the communal kitchen anyway.

"I don't think she knew who you were. More like.. the two of you synced up well." He nodded, his mind running through what little he knew of the Fear bond. "I've been told a weapon bond is rare. A lot of potential hunters don't survive the pod stage. If you do, you wait there until you properly sync up with a weapon."

"Maybe."

He laughed, "If you want better, more scientific specifics; I'd ask a Life Tech. Next question!"

That was a perfectly reasonable answer to her question, though she could hear the speculation in his voice. It was good enough for her though, at least for the time being. Plus, it was a nice thought to start out with someone who knew they were compatible.

"Ooookaaay..." Harley hummed, resting her cheek against the back of his head. "What's a Life Tech?"
PostPosted: Mon Dec 08, 2014 6:18 pm

"A Life Tech is... a hunter who works in the Life Division. Usually in the labs, or the infirmary. Mostly labs. They're uh..." Again, he trailed off. He'd been at Deus for a year and a half. Yet he didn't seem to know much at all. Shameful, he thought.

He laughed at his own uncertainty. "Science nerds! Moon and Life Division sometimes have duties that mirror each other. Moon on the battlefield is more geared to defence. Life and Moon both carry out medic roles, too."

He nearly breathed a sigh of relief, at least knowing some things here and there.

"Are there only the two divisions?" Harley replied almost instantly.

And then the questions happened all the way to the kitchen, and all through the food prep, even past eating, and more happened when they found Harley's room in the basement and her new coat and things, but it wasn't until she followed him home did she managed to stop long enough to breathe.

"Ummm. Hold on, I think I've got more." She mused, staring at the ceiling through her shutter shades, her belly full and all snuggled in her new coat.

By the time she had followed him to his own room, he was spent. Despite the food and drink, his throat felt dry. His nerves were slightly off centre from the testing questions of his knowledge of Deus that he sometimes did not possess. He felt like she'd packed a week of exams into an hour of discussion.

"More, huh?" He laughed, a little broken, allowing her into his small and cozy dorm room. "You're a real curious sort, eh?"

"Yeah! Plus this is like, really new and stuff, right? I've never heard of any of this it's like...illuminati level s**t!" Despite having talked and listened non-stop since she got back from the cove, Harley was as energetic as ever. She hopped from one foot to the other, but stopped just long enough to take in his room in a calm, curious manner.

For all of two seconds.

"Oh. My. Gosh lookit that!" She hopped to the wall behind his desk, leaning on it (including one foot popping up behind her) to get a good, close look at it. "Old school!" She turned to look over her shoulder, and this time spotted the posters and the manga underneath it. "Dude!" She picked one up, flipping through it from cover to cover quickly. "My BFF from high school loved this s**t!" She put it down, and then flopped on his bed, rolling over to face the photos. "Who are these people?"

Dylon regained some energy, watching as she beamed across his room in delight. His room screamed nerd in the most delicate of ways.

"Those are~ ladies I've made friends with." And by friends, he meant with benefits.

"...I bet I can guess what kind of friends, considering they're by your headboard." Harley cackled, rolling to sit up and sit properly on his bed, shifting enough to maneuver the fun new coat. "Nah, man, I'm sure they're all great." She waved her hand in dismissal, then clicked her heels together.

"So! How long have you been in this business?" Finally, the questions moved from Deus to him, as a person.
PostPosted: Mon Dec 08, 2014 6:52 pm

Dylon chuckled. "Yeah, they're pretty awesome. Lots of good people here at Deus. Equally some crazies too." Twitter seemed to make those ones more obvious for him.

The young man took a chair and turned it towards the bed, sitting on his backwards and resting his arms in front of him across the backboard. Her question made him smile, a small shield of courage.

"A year and a half. I'm still a trainee."

"Anyone I should watch out for?" Good people were one thing, but crazies were another; Harley was too new to risk getting involved with the wrong people, and even that was an assumption, based on the idea that everywhere had at least a handful of wrong people. She seemed surprised by the answer he gave about his length of stay.

"Is it hard to rank up?" She questioned, leaning forward to rest her elbows on her knees and her chin in her hands.
