It had not been hard to find the one actual functioning bar on the island. He already knew it was run by Rep, but Horace would risk the wrath of him if it meant he could get blitzed. Horace wasn't looking for death, though, so he'd stick a sock in his cheeky mouth if the Scotsman was there.

Upon entering, though, he found no one but a young mam in a red scarf. Sighing warily, he plopped in front of the bar, propping both elbows on the polished surface. "Are y'all open or am I imposing?" His normally dimpled grin was a little tired-looking. "And," he looked around briefly. "-is Harrison or Rep here or am I safe?"

Thankfully for Horace, a different kind of Scotsman was at the bar tonight. Al looked up at the new face and smiled a greeting. He didn't know who this guy was yet and sure as s**t didn't want to ignore any paying customers. At their question though, he took pause. Uncertainty creeping into his features. Was this guy not welcome here or something? He didn't want to assume anything.

"Safe?" His accent was a lot softer than a certain red-head's. "You fighting?" He fished very carefully.

Horace waved his hands in front of his face. "No, no, not fighting. Though he did beat me quite thoroughly - was a weird introduction to the island." He chuckled. At the time, he had been literally shaking in his shoes, but now, he could laugh at it. He hadn't died, after all, though that was probably through some residual luck, or Harrison's presence. "I may have accidentally hit on Harrison, though I didn't know he was taken at the time." He rubbed one hand over the shaved part of his head. That was on the 'don't's list now, along with pissing off Mikael. The island was damn full of crazies.

"But I'm just here to drink. No fighting, less cheek than usual." He sighed and suddenly look very, very tired. "Just got back from the most awkward mission. Can I have, uh, whatever's cheap?" Horace had some money, but he hadn't really gotten his pay yet. The aim here was to get drunk, not necessarily enjoy the drinking.

Probably a good thing too, Al wasn't exactly allowed to touch any of the top shelf booze. He turned to fetch a glass and fill it with the cheapest ale on tap, which was still rather good s**t because Rep wouldn't waste his time bringing over anything less.

Despite his obedient retrieval of Horace's drink, Al had to laugh at the ridiculousness of why he was avoiding the guys. "Why would you hit on Harrison?!" He was grinning from ear to ear, "I mean really."

As soon as the glass hit the counter in front of him, Horace was taking a big gulp. He spluttered at Al's question. "Hey! Harrison is easy on the eyes. Everyone here is, I swear." He gave his friendly bartender a once over as well, because why not? Al got an appreciative nod. The island definitely did not have a shortage of eye candy of either gender. He snorted; Horace wasn't complaining. "And I'm a huge sucker for nice guys. Harrison is like a blustery mom, all helpful and stuff." He drained the glass and pulled some money from his pocket.

"Another?" Horace idly drew a smiley face in the little bit on condensation on the bar tap before frowning and wiping it away. "Being kind is the quickest way to m'heart. Harrison, Jan, I'm a sucker for that s**t. Maybe just a sucker. Good enough guy could say 'jump' and I'd ask 'how high'." He sighed and pointed a finger at Al.

"If not nice guys, what type would you hit on, then?"

Al crossed his arms defensively in front of his chest with an intentionally off-putting and unattractive squint. The look did not stick at the insinuation that Harrison was nice. It was at this very moment that Al sputtered into laughter at Horace's expense.

He was still cackling as he turned away to fetch another glass. When he'd turned back, he finally settled down to just grinning like a madman, "Harrison is no nice guy." That was all he said of that as a fresh glass was slid at Horace.

When the question was turned on him, Al looked... uncomfortable and began to rub the back of his neck and look everywhere else but at Horace. "I don't know what you ******** mean, I don't have a type I'd hit on."

"Hey!" Horace made a face at Al and almost poked him in the arm, then thought better of it. "Harrison is the nicest. Well, maybe not the nicest, but close. He told me a lot of things I'd have had to learn the hard way otherwise. I think he's gotta be nice to balance out Rep." He almost called Rep Bill, but there was very little point in mis-naming him when the man himself was not there to appreciate it. Although... Rep's appreciation would probably involve his fists and sending Horace to the infirmary. He grimaced and pushed his glasses up.

That grimace turned into a chuckle at how uncomfortable the other man looked. "Don't look so worried! I ain't hitting on you... right now. Unless you want me to." This was accompanied by an eyebrow arch, because Horace just couldn't help himself. "I kind of, sort of, have my own guy. Maybe." Frowning, he took another drink of his beer. It was good stuff, he supposed, although he wouldn't have cared if it was bottom shelf pig swill.

"Every guy has a type - blond? Nerdy? Has a pulse? I'm Horace, by the way. What's your name?"

"Even... out... what? Rep's the ******** helpful one man. You sure you don't have their names mixed up?"

He adamantly refused to uncross his arms. "I hope for your sake they warned you about the ******** runic condoms either way." He attempted to cool the stranger's jets. Then they determinedly nixed the stranger part.

"I'm Al." He missed the rest of the implied question on purpose.

"Rep - Scotsman, red and white hair, temper? Harrison - blond angel Ken doll? Pretty sure I've got 'em straight. Pretty hard to mix them up when only one's tried to bash my head in." It was kind of cute how determined Al was to shut down his flirting. It only made Horace want to try harder. He drained another glass.

"Hi Al. And yes, Harrison told me, I think. Those the ones that... something about bananas exploding, possibly tentacles? Makes me wish I were more adventurous. Almost. I find it's important to have things in working order." This last sentence was accompanied by a sage nod. He reached into his pocket again, fishing out his wallet. A panda winked cheerily on the outside. From it, Horace pulled out some money and a regular, non-exploding condom. "Are you allowed to drink behind the bar? I;'ll buy you one. And here," He slid the condom over with a crooked smile. "-you seem like you could use this more than I. A good lay keeps a guy happy."

Al wrinkled his nose at Horace in disgust. "Did you seriously just ******** call Harrison an angel?" He settled down though at the reminder of exploding tenta-dicks. Yeah, he likes his s**t normal. There's no amount of adventurous to counter that.

He watched curiously as Horace fetched his wallet, something that Al might have had himself when he was still in primary school, but whipped out something Al most certainly did not have in his at the time. He looked absolutely mortified, he took the money but slid the offending object back at him. "Are you ******** trying to tip me with a condom?"

He scratched the end of his nose. "Mhmm. If you didn't work here, I'd be asking if you were the one who got them mixed up." They would just have to agree to disagree. Harrison was Officer Mom, niceness and light. "Can I have another beer?"[ He was feeling lightheaded - it was good, yes.

"It's not a tip, it's a suggestion." One accompanied by a blinding grin, complete with dimples. He slid the condom back towards Al.

Al turned away to fetch another ale for Horace and contemplated taking his tip and getting himself a drink as suggested with it. There are no rules he is aware of other than not stealing s**t which was a given. He checked the bills to see if there was enough for his own poison of choice.

Al grudgingly took the condom this time as he slid the ale back at the infuriating man, at least then he could stop sliding it at him with that creepy a** smile. "I'm not for ******** sale if that's what you're implying."

Horace spluttered through his ale. "N-no, no!" He rubbed the bridge of his nose, just underneath his glasses. "I prefer my sex freely given, thanks." He took another long drink. Horace was feeling pleasantly warm and he unwound his scarf from his neck and shoved it in a pocket. The edge of a bandage poked out the top of his shirt; he healed more quickly, but he still had to take time to heal, and that mission had been annoying.

"It was a suggestion for you to get laid with anyone. Since you could use it. You're about as prickly as a cactus, Al." Maybe he should go get laid. Horace ran a finger around the edge of his glass and weighed his options.
PostPosted: Wed Dec 10, 2014 3:10 pm

"I'm not prickly," Al huffed in annoyance.

Don't even start.
That doesn't mean I'm going to ******** the first person I see.
That's not the point. He gives me the ******** creeps.
actualleh interested in ya?> Low blow man, low blow.

Outwardly, Al suddenly began to frown and slooowly hunkered down on the bar. His arms were still crossed but now with his head buried in them against the high-gloss wood.

"You're the prickly one," he muttered irritably from his arm-nest.

Horace watched Al sink onto the counter and valiantly smothered his urge to laugh. Maybe he was getting drunk, but something about Al just made the moment hilarious. He was the prickly one, eh? Far from it, Horace thought if he were anymore non-prickly, he might as well hang a sign round his own neck with the words 'Please touch me' scrawled on it. Mercifully, Jannisari was being silent and allowing him this foray into a weird kind of jolly self-pity.

"I'm not prickly; I'm as gentle as they come. You can, of course, feel free to touch and test my lack of prickles." Not that he thought this was going anywhere, even if Al was weirdly cute. Horace reached out to absently pat Al on the head.
