The Eidolon-Makai are created from a Box of Nothing, an Essence, Soul and LifeGem. Each corresponds to a aspect of life: the abilities to think, feel and act. It breaks down as such:
Feel Essence – basic colors and essentials => feeding habits hair, eyes, skin
Think Soul – accent colors and urges / options / goals => alignment clothing
Act Life Gem – own and awareness => attributes crest with design / powers
The Eidolon-Makai also have stages of development that breaks down in the following way: Stages: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5
1 – Kū Box of Nothing. It will gain an Essence, Soul and LifeGem and begin incubation to the next stage.
2 – Ardice an Eidolon-Makai emerges from the grown box. They have the body / mentality of an early teen. The Crest is fully visible on the Eidolon-Makai’s body. The Ardice is still learning about their abilities and powers.
3 – Itsu The Eidolon-Makai has grown into an older teen / young adult. The Crest is being covered and incorporated into the body. The Itsu has greater control over powers.
4 – Mao The Eidolon-Makai is an full-fledged adult. The Crest has disappeared into the Eidolon-Makai’s body, but a tattoo of where it was remains. They have full control over their powers.
5 – Eldin Elder Stage: no known facts.
Each Eidolon-Makai has a Guardian to keep them safe. Guardians are appointed by Kavortaine and are charged with the safety of the Eidolon-Makai.

Kū
Also known as "The Box of Nothing", the Kū starts as a 8x8cm cube that gradually grows as an Essence, Soul and LifeGem are absorbed by it. This box is unopenable. Not even the strongest of machines can pry it open. However, it has small, snake-like designs covering the surface. If looked at in the correct light, the box's designs seemed to slither about the box. It is theorized that the Ku was formed from a collapsing star as the neutrinos left the core. After testing, Kavortaine figured out that the box was of a carbon base and inside was most likely water and other essentials for life.
*Tay will draw the Eidolon-Makai and Gale will color it. The crest design is up to the Guardian as well as the Essence, Soul and LifeGem combination. However, all four are subject to approval by both Tay and Gale.*
Essence
An Essence is something that’s been taken from "abstract" nature and tainted or purified and sometimes manifested into an object. An Essence can be close to anything, but must have a tainted or purified element to it. For example, the Essence "Prayer of the Faithful" is a purified element of nature and had manifested into a string of prayer beads as his Essence that was absorbed into the Ku.
Novella "There was a political meeting between the Terribrian’s Peace Corps and the monks. There was some debate over whether one of the monk’s actions was in accordance with the laws set there. Ywell Gibbens was there as a mediator and when the Peace Corps in the waiting room started to rally against the monks, he stepped in and, in the truest sense of the word, co-existed. Ywell Gibbens displayed a prayer that was pure and just..."
The Essence corresponds to the think aspect of life and the color of the hair, eyes and skin of the Eidolon-Makai. It is the base color of the Eidolon-Makai and is the basis for how the Eidolon-Makai feeds. Yes, the Eidolon-Makai can eat physical food, however its not as filling as feed on as aspect of their Essence. For example, Inari feeds on the sincerity of the prayers he hears. The more sincere the prayer, the more Inari gets to feed.
Soul
A soul is something that can think. If the Essence is equivalent to the ability to feel, then the Soul to Think. The Soul is accent colors and the urges / options / goals of the eventual Eidolon-Makai and makes up a large part of their alignment.
The Soul helps determine the alignment of the Eidolon-Makai as well as their clothing, which is influenced by the Essence. The Soul also corresponds to the accent colors and the urges / options and goals of the Eidolon-Makai.
However, a Soul cannot be specific. So, you can’t have Dracula as your soul. But you can have plants or animals or ideas. Angel is an idea. But, again, you cannot have Michael the Archangel as a soul.
LifeGem
The LifeGem is of an aluminum-oxide that provides the last essentials for the Kū to become an Eidolon-Makai. The LifeGem is equal to the Act part of being human, thus why its called a "Life"Gem.
The LifeGem contributes to the attributes of the Eidolon-Makai as well as its awareness and sense of self. The LifeGem appears on a crest somewhere on the Eidolon-Makai's body. As it ages, the LifeGem is absorbed into the body as the Eidolon-Makai fuses more thoroughly with it and a tattoo of the crest design appears where the crest was.
The crest that appears on the Natoka after the LifeGem is absorbed is correlated to where is appears on the Eidolon-Makai upon birth. The crest does not need to be visible, but does need to be there. A design of the crest is up to the Guardian.
