It had taken every ounce of strength within for Cruithne to flip open her senshi phone. To force herself to concentrate on listening for her planet. To push the button on the phone that would take her into space. Within mere seconds, she stood again within the desolate ruins of what had, long ago, once been her home. Drawing in a shuddering breath, Cruithne sank to her knees and allowed a tiny sob to escape. She’d done it. She’d come back.

And so far, it didn’t seem like any nightmares and displaced memories would be attacking her. So far so good. With a sigh, the Chibi senshi got to her feet and closed her eyes. She wanted to visit the wellspring again. Turning to face the ruins, she set off briskly towards the tiny spring. She didn’t really have a solid plan for being here. Just the nebulous thought that she should try to clear away what rubble she could. Just… something to make her ancient homeworld a little less sad. As she knelt to get to work, she felt, rather than heard a flickr of laughter and glanced up quickly. And just like before, rather than dust and rubble, she found herself staring out at a green and living world.

Clusters of flowering shrubs surrounded her as people milled about, carefully pruning the plants and laughing. And just as quickly, the vision faded. Though it had given Cruithne pause. Those people had been harvesting the buds from the plants. For all of their laughter, they’d been moving carefully. Deliberately. And she felt reasonably sure that this wasn’t food harvesting. Eyes half closed, she dreamily mimiced the movements she’d just seen. It reminded her a little of the day she’d watched one of her coven-mates in his garden. Rolph had been showing her how to harvest plants to use in various concoctions. It was like the plants he’d showed her that he used for coughs! Those shadow people had been harvesting medicines! They had to be!

Giving a joyful little wriggle, Cruithne hugged herself. Of course, she couldn’t say for sure that’s what she’d just seen. But something deep within knew about it. Instinct maybe or even an old, old shadow of a memory. Had Cruithne, as a planet, grown medicines? Was that why her magic was based in healing? Oh, it was a fascinating thought!

Before she could get too wrapped up in speculation, the scene shifted again. She was still near the wellspring, surrounded by those odd plants, but now rain poured down as a small group of worried looking people rushed past (and through) her. There was no laughing or singing this time. And as if through a tunnel, she heard a low, carrying voice call out into the storm.

“Hurry! He can’t hold on much longer! He’s losing so much blood…”

Quick as a wink, the vision faded, leaving her feeling a little dizzy. Sitting down quickly, she thought hard. It had sounded so much like those doctor shows that her parents watched sometimes. Had their been a sort of hospital here? Glancing around at the ruins, Cruithne thought that there was no real way to tell now. And she was tired. With a tiny sigh, she pulled out her phone and thought of home.

She had a lot to think about now.
