Let's take a look at our racers today as they are loaded into the gate:



Our first horse is Cocoa Icing, a mare from Mirror Mist Stables. This is her very first race today.



Caustic Sunshine, ridden by Missy Cavendish, is a stallion from Rattlesnake Downs. He placed twice in last weekend's Maiden Race Marathon, so we're all eager to see if he can finally break his maiden today!


Third we have Jacked Up Apple, another beautiful horse who is also racing for the first time today.


White Knight, from Alpine Meadows, is a horse we are familiar with at White Garden Tracks. He was bought in a claiming race here, and raced here last week, showing three times.


First Snow is another horse who placed three times here last weekend from Alpine Meadows. We'll see how this beauty does in today's races.


Ciaran, ridden by Josephine Markhem, hails from Shadow's Hallow Stables. He showed in a race here last week.


Rook, from Forest by the Sea, is another mare who placed in the MRM. We definitely have a lot more horses eager to prove themselves today.


Makea Muta, ridden by Leala O'reagan, placed in one race and showed in another. She's from Golden Valley Stables, who had one of our winners last week.




And last, but not least, we have three horses who are here for their first races. Excitable, ridden by Paul Hansen, Dash of Class, ridden by Annie Renard, and Chico, ridden by Lily Lochlain.

The Break:

First Snow takes the lead as soon as they break, with Makea Muta right behind. A little whiles back we have Cocoa Icing in third, with the rest of the horses jumbled behind. Caustic Sunshine and White Knight hold down the rear, but we have seen some good sprints towards the end of races from those two horses.

Race Factor:

The factor is this race will be the speed of the horse, as well as the jockeys. It will take skill to navigate their horses through this tangle. Will the back runners have enough space to push through?

The Final Stretch:

Ciaran managed to get ahead of Makea Muta while they run and crosses the wire moments before the mare. First Snow maintains her position on third place.
