Appearance: Jemi is not a pretty lady. Towering at 5'10'' with broad shoulders, weather roughed olive skin, and corded with muscles, she clearly works for a living. Candidacy over the turns has just fine toned her muscle mass and she has certainly stopped nitpicking her large broad shoulder form against her slender to curvy sisters. Her hair is in a short buzz, kept to a simple black fuzz and her eyes of sharp brown. She is flat breast and lacking hips, and her nose has been broken and set crooked.
Jemi is very enamored with hose and the candidate uniform that allows such a better range of movements then chemise and skirts.
Personality: Confident, Composed, Thrill Junky, Stubborn, Physical, Average intelligence but more likely to compromise, a bit temperamental.
Jemi is certainly not the smartest individual, she rather turn the thinking over to her long standing partner Wen or their sharper tongue lover Cai or both, just to sit back and watch them quarrel on who is right. She’ll interfere after a bit to make sure they’ll come to some sort of compromise about whatever they started to argue about. Books certainly aren’t her bread and butter and as much as candidacy forced her to learn to read, she finds it easier to get Wen or even badger Cai to read to her. Now, if they need some muscle to lift something or drag them out of the danger, she can do that.
Jemi is most at her element given a problem that can be solved in a physical manner. She has plenty of stamina and chores that are physical in nature, laundry, leather care, and shoveling slop are certainly up her alley.
She is rather confident now she is away from her smaller and curvier siblings, being a candidate has allowed her to accept her body type and feel good about herself. Her sharp temper at her body type had eased, giving her more composure and more likely to laugh insults off.
A bit of that temper has remained, she is protective of her friends and certainly prone to getting into people’s face if either of them are insulted. Jemi temper might have settled into a simmer but it doesn’t take too much prodding to get it to boil over with the right amount of force. Her friends, Nabol’s failing economy, and her family are sure fire ways to get her pissed. She tries, really she does to not swing the first punch and things have steadily been getting better.
Jemi is a thrill junky and rather enjoys challenges and possible dangers and pitting her strength against anything in her way. She will challenge nature, roar in the face of a storm jump for dragon back into a lake, well if she had a partner, certainly would jump from high tree branches into deep water.
History: Jemaselle is the eldest of eight surviving children and out of her three sisters, she takes after her father instead of her curvier mother. She always felt rather unattractive and manly compared to them until candidacy changed her mind. Her family raised cattle and sheep in Nabol and she had stood her ground against more than one cattle raid.
The dragon plague and the civil war tore up much of Nabol’s infrastructure and even with the hardships had the added bonus of obtaining a new friend. When the civil war took his wife life, Wenrek found himself floundering with a young son to take care of and hired onto the ranch as an extra hand.
Jemi hit it off with Wen well, the rather small boy was quiet and pale but had a mischief streak and scurrying up fruit trees to ping stones off of cattle rustlers or sling cow pies at them was fun. She made friends with a Sofianes orphan and they became rather close. Close enough too certainly to go off and stand for a search.
It seemed like a good idea, her downy could be used by her family and she could do something more worthwhile then get married and perhaps even help her family out by providing marks to grow the farmstead.
She was gleeful that not only was she searched but Wen and Cai as well and they would be starting a new life. Jemi plowed through boot camp. Literacy boot camp afterwards was a major head oh Faranth, why? Why do I need to know this junk?
As the years went by, puberty hit and the most affected was Cai, and adjusting to the girl they had known wavering between genders was confusing. Jemi finally just shrugged and went, whatever suited Cai suited them. She understood about being a man in a man world, being a women certainly was harder but she just didn’t feel the same thing that Cai had.
Hatchings went by, some boring, some bloody, the last certainly being the most exciting between the brown hatching early and the less then healthy hatchlings that had predominated the clutch. There are time riders now, and the upcoming clutch would be sired by a blue and while Cai certainly has a lot to say about that, Jemi is seeing it as something new and possibly ground breaking.
Jemi doubt she would be where she is if it wasn’t for Wen or Cai. When she was young and uncomfortable with her skin, she was much more temperamental and had difficulty making friends and then Wen was around and he preferred to her sisters. Then Wen made friends with Cai and Jemi was perhaps a bit jealous but then not. How could she be jealous of a girl that always overloaded with toddlers and babies? It took her longer to warm up, but Cai was vibrant in her beliefs and fiery. And perhaps Jemi wanted to find something just as strong to believe in as Cai.
Maybe she wants a partner that will be just as a solid as her two friends and partners and tell her unconditionally how wonderful she truly is. Even when she sometimes doubts that she really deserves such loyal partners.
