Quote: Winter Solstice Celebration, A night where it was suppose to be full of fun and excitement! The joys of winter, and bringing together warmth and family. To meet new ulaya from different parts of the huge Island they all shared. But now it was inhabited by straggles left to amuse themselves with silence....well. Some silence. Almost empty where it was once full. What you see now are those caroling ulayas. Aligned, and while others are leaving.. they are singing! Your characters are caught in the middle of them and because caroling ulayas are just so cheerful! They start to follow your characters! Wow! You must be popular!

 Nemisis was in the usual state he had always been in. Melancholy. This time of year however, his first. He was in his adolescence, but during his upbringing the 'happy-go-lucky' was just not in his genes whatsoever. But the ruckus of caroling, the smell of good food and the happiness that radiated from miles around, drew him here. Curious, but not overly so to make contact. Those things like participating was just not in his line of work. Tonight, was a blistering cold. He had been facing the going ons for almost an hour but it had slowly died down now. He a short resident up in a tree, close enough to watch. His family was close- blood called blood but they kept close to themselves. Killers would, wouldn't they?
As he waited, his tail scythe swung back and forth lazily although it would be rather dangerous if anyone came to close to it.
"Brother..... how nice of you to join in the festivities." He spoke without looking behind him, and smoke had leaked when he uttered the words. His senses were rather sharp after not being able to see. Softly pulling his hood over his head.

 Sha Hayato, seeming to be the only more 'outgoing' one of the siblings, didn't mind the hustle and bustle that came with the holiday season, but he still kept a relative good distance. He didn't mingle too much nor, when he did, his company would stay with him very long. There was something unsettling about him, but he never quite saw himself as such.
As all the commotion finally died down, he made his way back to his family, who also seemed to be around. The closest sibling was Nemisis, so he slowly and cautiously made his way over. One can only go so far with seeing with one small eye. Eventually reaching the tree his brother was in, he stopped below him, being wary of the swaying blade. "I wish I could say the same as you dear brother."

"I can't help it if they are so noisy.. so annoying." A sigh came out of him as he gazed upon his brother. "I don't know how you deal with such vile creatures." Mainly speaking to the carolers. Slowly, and surprisingly graceful, he jumped out of the tree. Landing with ease as he stood tall next to his brother. "Maybe if I am with you... they will stay away. Show me what it is that entertains you about them."
He wanted to understand. How. Just how Sha was able to be around them so often unlike the rest of the family. The aura he gave off was enough to put tension in any ulaya. So how was he was outgoing than the rest of them. Looking at Sha's clothes over his eyes then he aimed to look at the one on top. The third eye. How he managed to see everything was beyond him, but even with that. He couldn't help but be jealous of the beauty he had. Dangerous beauties. That was how he described his family.
Flicking his scythe tail. Maybe it was a bad idea on his part to even get this close or even enter a crowd. The smell of good food though was partially what drew him even this close in the first place.
"Learn a few pointers from the young brother of mine." The sultry voice he came to find that most of his family possessed.
In the near distance, a bunch of ulaya laughed- played and traded. This was the celebration. Of the holidays and of winter's welcome...

"As a reaper, we are supposed to deal with these 'vile creatures' as you call them." Hayato said, watching his brother jump down from his perch. "Besides, how can you find singing annoying? Sure, some of them may be off-key and can't hold a note, but all together it is quite a lovely sound." He explained, spaded tail flicking behind him, but gave a shrug. "You do not have to join me if it makes you uncomfortable, but it is not up to me to decide how you wish to do things."
With an elegant stretch of his back legs, Hayato padded his way back to the crowd. Despite only having one eye, he saw quite well, though his steps still showed he was being cautious. Taking things slowly for his older brother, he stopped some distance from a group who had just finished exchanging gifts. He, himself, didn't understand the tradition, but he enjoyed watching others participate in it and receive entertainment from it.

Rolling his eyes yet again. Unlike his brother- his eyes were coated. Everything looked foggy and he presumed he'd eventually go blind. With his silver orbs, he gave his brother a glance of somewhat amused at how he spoke about them. "It's noise." His facial expression going back to unamused and blank.
As soon his brother started to move. He waited a few paces before he too trotted in to the crowd behind him. Giving him space yet at the same time not wanting to be alone. He preferred not to answer if he was uncomfortable. Of course he was, but at the same time he never really showed how curious he really was but he would do anything to find amusement. Most things were boring. Especially in their unemotional household growing up.
When he closed the gap between them he spoke frankly. "Of course not. How you came out this way is something to marvel. What..in the.." As they exchanged presents he lifted a brow. Hm. How queer. Then seeing them laugh.. more. Noise. His ears fanned back and looked at his brother. To him, Hayato was an enigma. A true gem of the family. "Do... you participate with them." Making a circle notion. "Do you like these.. going ons." Then a wiff of the smell of fresh meat rose the fur on his back, yet he made no notion or advances towards the meat.
Without care, he let his scythe tail sway normally. Unafraid of cutting anyone. To him, THEY are the ones who should be careful.

When his brother still referred to singing as noise, he just shrugged slightly. "Call it what you wish." Was his simple answer, tail still swishing.
Hayato had to chuckle at Nemisis' amazement at his ability to go out and mingle with the other ulayas. To be honest, he was quite perplexed about it as well. Perhaps he got it from their father. It was a possibility, having watched his father from a distance approach female after female and even talk to other males like it was nothing. Returning to the subject at hand, he gave his brother a backwards glanced as he questioned if he participated with the ulaya who were exchanging gifts. "I've never done it myself, but it does look interesting."
While his older brother had smelled the meat and made no move toward it, on the other hand, he had smelled the meat and stood up. "Come, I am sure you are more interested in the food." With that, he walked ahead yet again to where the food was located. What he didn't know was, the direction he decided to take hid a frozen river under the snow. Crossing on top of it, he did not realize his mistake until it was too late. Hearing the crack, he let out a sudden gasp of surprise as he plunged into the icy waters with a splash.

Lifting a brow as mortals came around them as if they were on his same level. His family was always above the rest in his eyes, it's hard to see anything above them that was Nemisis's problem. When he realized that his brother caught on to Neme being interested in the food. He lead him to it. An assortment of meats and things were plainly out for the taking. He looked at the one, hefty looking ulaya on the other side. Noting him as they neared only to hear the ice cracking beneath only to see his brother go down.
"BROTHER!" He yelled out, which was quite unusual for him to speak any louder than his low unemotional voice. throwing his forebody down in to the water- looking for him. His mouth holding in the air as he saw a dark form, and long lack hair everywhere! As much as he could, he dug inside the water to grab at his brother. And if he couldn't- he'd jump in most likely to bring him out to safety.
