Spitting the sand out of her mouth she got up glad she hadn’t landed a few feet to the left because the crystalline grasses would have been far less forgiving. She glanced up seeing the three other scorra taking off but there was one that was clearly wounded by Sawleah’s attempt to catch at least one of them. The poor thing had run smack into a large grouping of crystal grass and had been flailing clearly. Feathers were chopped and there was some blood from some scratches of varying thicknesses. Smiling to herself she was glad her pack hadn’t landed too far. Scrambling to it she got some rope and approached the trapped scorra before she realized the problem. In order to securely snag the beast she was going to have to climb into the shard like broken bits of grass herself. Wincing she decided it was going to be worth it. Moving forward slowly she made soothing noises and tried hard not to panic the beast. Her mind was debating was this bird going to be a pet or was this going to be dinner? It was lovely creature but well scorra meat tasted really good. She looked at the pretty green feathers marred with specks of red. She sighed. She really wished she was a hunter but sadly she just couldn’t bring herself to actually kill something that didn’t try to hurt her so this one like the others was destined to be let go. Well after this she really should head to Yera since it was supposed to be close well hopefully unless she had gotten lost. Leading the scorra out of the grasses she used one hand to dust off her skirt while she kept the scorra at a fair distance but under control with the other. So far it was just eyeing her closely but not running away just yet.

Meri was wandering past the crystalline grasses. She hesitated, noticing movement. A scorra? They were beautiful creatures, and they made good eating! Far better than the bugs Jacin had told her about. The prentice rose her stick, moving forward. She was quiet, or tried to be, as she approached. It seemed someone else had had the same idea.
Meri studied Sawleah carefully, raising an eyebrow. Well? Was she going to attack? The bird was already injured, it would be an easy catch. ...But it was lovely, wasn't it?
"Are you going to catch it?"

Having a few cuts and scrapes on her Sawleah jumped losing her grip on the bird at the voice she hadn’t been expecting to hear. She also never realized how fast a scorra really could be until it took the chance and hauled past her taking avenge of her moment of panic. She knew she could find it latter since it was bleeding here and there so it was trackable. The problem was that she had to still find it and catch it all over again. More over it was hurt and she was technically responsible. “e.. Yes. I had been trying and doing alright I thought.” She glanced the other prentice over. Cute nice fashion sense, but came at perhaps the worst possible time. “ Hello. I’m Sawleah. Care to help me recatch a scorra?”

"Sorry," Meri apologized, quickly, realizing she'd caused the girl to lose her grip on the bird. "I'm Meri," she added."What are you going to do with it?" she asked, blinking. "It's hurt," she observed, glancing at the blood on the ground. She hesitated, turning to stare at Sawleah. "You aren't going to kill it, are you?" she made a face at the idea. It would have been a better catch than the bugs Jacin had described, but she wasn't sure she wanted to eat something so beautiful. Not one that she had to catch, anyway.
"Maybe you could keep it as a pet?" she suggested. "And when the feathers fall out, sell them? They're lovely."

“Sawleah and it’s fine.” She sighed and looked at the path the bird had left. “Well I was thinking of cooking it, but.. I didn’t think I could… you know.” She agreed with the other’s face in her mind. A pet might be nice and she could always use the feathers for more ingredients in trade. “Yes. I think a pet would be better.” She really didn’t have it in her to harm it clearly. “Can you help me track it? I’m not really used to this area.” She had no idea how far the injured scorra could have gotten. It was cut but not too bad since it could take off like it had.

"I'm not much better," Meri admitted, as she was asked for help. She hadn't yet strayed far from her home. "But I'll do my best, alright? Let's see... It was injured, so it couldn't have gotten far. And I think if we corner it somewhere, and stand on either side so it can't escape, we can close in on it. Then we should be able to grab it. We could treat it's injuries, too, if it lets us. I hope it will. I don't like the idea of it being hurt."

“Well between the two of us we should be able to manage I think.” She started to follow the blood and gestured for the other girl to follow. She also started to rummage through her supplies to try and get some fabric to wrap the creatures’ wounds. “it might be a bit worried and scared so we should take it slow once we have it.” She was feeling guilty that she was the cause of the wounds to even start with. “how far do you think it could have gone it was moving quickly.”

Meri considered Sawleah's question, hesitating. Hm. How far could an injured bird go, even if it was moving quickly. "It might have slowed down by now," she suggested. "If it was hurt, it might have made a quick get away and hidden itself somewhere nearby." She followed the girl, not sure if tracking it by the blood trail was the best way to go about it. Hadn't it left any footprints? Blood would eventually dry up.
"Er. I hope it didn't get too far, I don't want wittus getting it..."

“I hope it slowed down. Scorra are pretty fast when they run.” Following the drops of blood she noticed all the disturbed sand from all the creatures that lived out here. Still the deep gouges from the scorra’s feet were clearly visible. Still following the drops of fresh blood helped more since it stood out clearly in the white sand. It also helped the paniced creature had ended up rubbing against other small bits of crystalline grass in its haste. It wasn’t long until they found it curled under a particularly large cluster of grasses. “Hey can you rip this up?” Sawleah held out a strip of fabric. It would make it easier to help if she could start in on it when was still in this group of grasses. They could surround it and then subdue it together.
