Where: At a Christmas tree lot
Weather: Chilly evening, with a rather lovely cool breeze. Clear skies and a bright moon.
It was a perfect night for Zurine, the wind blowing her hair around her in a cloak. She had spent the day researching Christmas trees online, poring through page after page of different shapes and sizes and flavors of greenery to find what ones would be her favorite, pondering over what they would look like, what they would smell like, and last -- but certainly not least -- whether they would be able to get one up the stairs to park in the living room. Phiel had bought the stand already, and set it in place, and now all that was left for Zuri was to select the tree itself.
He had given her the card, which she had tucked snugly in her jacket pocket, and a measurement she couldn't go beyond. Seven feet was their outer limit, and he had cautioned her that if she got one any bigger it simply wouldn't work. So Zurine had called, most cautiously, to summon up Revontulet. She needed someone that was easy to spend time with, and someone who might have time to truly enjoy the process of shopping for trees, since she intended to be very, very picky. It had to be a fat tree, with no bald spots, and one of the three types that she had decided she liked best from her research.
Now, she was just waiting for Ren to arrive, fluffed-up with excitement and nearly glowing, a long pink scarf wrapped around her shoulders and her cheeks flushed a sweet blue.

Zurine's call had been greeted with soft enthusiasm, Ren's voice warm and eager over the phone as she attempted not to sound overly enthused for the opportunity.
At the first sign of Christmas trees being available, Revontulet had insisted that they purchase and decorate one. She loved the smell and the feel and the look of a beautiful, fat tree dominating the space of a well loved room. Although their home was new, and not quite as well loved as it would one day come to be, the tree they had picked out still looked dashing and regal with all its twinkling silver and lights.
Lucky for the icy frei, it was not only the moonstone's favorite time of year, but she was also feeling significantly more like herself than she'd been over the past few months.
Zurine was going to get the full-effect.
It was the pink scarf that Ren noticed first and she smiled at the pop of color on the blue frei's figure. The moonstone was adorned with white, fuzzy ear muffs and a navy pea coat and in her hands a small square present wrapped in silver paper and a blue ribbon.
"Zurine," Ren said as she got close enough to the other, "Thank you for calling me. It is so good to see you."

Zuri was immensely glad to see her friend. The weather and the season had combined to lift the rest of her spirits, and she was feeling delighted, straightening and lifting herself up a little bit, her eyes wide with delight. Ren was, as she always was, absolutely lovely, but at this moment Zurine couldn't bring herself to feel those old wriggling feelings of inadequacy. I am a delight to the senses, she told that voice in her head firmly, and that was that.
"I am so glad to see you," Zurine crooned in response, reaching out her hands to greet Ren. It was just as easy as she had thought it would be to see her again, and she smiled happily, flush-faced.

As Zuri's hands came out, so too did Ren's, although hers were a bit wider and she wrapped the snowy frei into her arms and a warm hug. Of course, the moonstone was cautious and considerate of the other's delicate wings, but otherwise the hug was enthusiastic.
"You look beautiful Zurine," Revontulet said with a smile as she pulled out of the hug. There could be no more a perfect season or moment than now for the snow owl.
For a moment the aurora paused before holding out the present to the girl. "I got this for your new tree."
Inside the box was a delicate and round Christmas ornament. Crystals clung to the bottom and created a lovely gradient up the sides still allowed the small crystal snow owl inside to be visible.
"I hope you like it," she said, her cheeks warming with a mild rose tone.

Zurine enjoyed the cool, comforting hug -- she felt quite at home in it, and she sighed happily. "You look lovely yourself -- a-ah, and you brought a gift...?" She hadn't been expecting it, but when she opened the offered gift carefully, her eyes went round, liquid darkness in the paleness of her face. "O-oh! Oh, it's amazing," she gushed sweetly, her delicate fingers making the ornament's glass frost prettily. "You didn't have to get me anything... I wish I had brought you something as well," she said, a little breathless.

Revontulet's fingers lingered on Zuri's arm for a moment, the moonstone's overwhelming need for contact swallowing her for that breath that the other absorbed her happiness in the gift.
"You didn't have to get me anything!" Ren replied, the words threaded with a soft laugh as she looped her arm into the crook of owl's after the fragile item had been tucked away. "I wanted only to see you smile for a moment, Zuri."
Their words were little puffs of cloud in the air between them, but the aurora held close to her friend? "Now! Where shall we start?"Petite Kitsune OMG IM SORRY I MISSED THIS ONE SOME HOW?! ; A;
