Biroki frowned, but they were just poscuta... they likely hadn't done much damage. ”Well...” he said, looking around warily for more, ”Lets get to... proper training, I g-guess.” he said, drawing a circle around them, ”If you feel able, anyway...”

He finished his circle and looked, again, at Sauron. He appraised the boy, worried. Biroki could not help being worried, though he knew it was unfounded. Again, the beasts had just been poscuta. ”are you sure you're fine?” he asked again, ”And... who is Sk-skava?”

"Oh sorry, Skava is my radaku, hes currently with my daughter's radaku babysitting her, but chances are they are teaching her to hunt with her teeth or something silly like that he shrugged and laughed, shoving a hand into his hair and messing it up some. Really he and Kelina should avoid niribi roots like the plague least they ever fail to be able to walk for copious amounts of hair.

"I feel a bit drained but thats probably because I'm terribly out of shape, what do you think we should start with?" He tilted his head inquiringly. What would Biroki have up his sleeve now?

”Ah...” Biroki's mind began to drift back to his own family. ”My daughter has a r-radaku, too. A green one, speckled with a light spotted pattern dusting it's back... medium sized...”

Yes, his family had pets... Ikuri had had a mammu, and Zuri had had a Roati. He'd never see them again – only the yellow eyed, smirking child and her green minion...

”Well, if you're... out of shape... Some warm up exercises might help. To start.” and to unclench their limbs after the battle and the poscuta encounter. ”F-follow my lead.” he said, deciding that yes, warm ups were the right thing and he should take authority. He was, after all, a seasoned sage now.

He began to lead Sauron through some basic stretches – he himself was a little out of shape, so it was good to do. ”I have a spitorog.” he commented, almost embarrassed at the effort it had taken to get the spitorog in the first place. He had a pet too.

Well, it wasn't JUST a spitorog. he reminded himself. Nem'ker was a spirit, a being of the worlds between, and it's pattern – the bright colors that cracked the beast like glass beneath the shards of crystal at its back – proved it as such. He'd bound it to his service and, for reasons he knew that his mortal mind could not comprehend, it had chosen the shape of a spitorog to torment and serve him. And it acted like a spitorog. And it was annoying.

But Biroki supposed that the spirit had its motives. ”And now” he said, declaratively, ”Some moves...” he picked up his staff and held it like a spear, as he had seen Zuri do so many times... ”My wife... was...” his throat burned painfully at the word, ”Was a Lancer too.” he said, ”S-so I know some of the drills. Lets run through them.” he said, taking up a stance.

The witu were hunting when they scented the twolegs. They were a small pack – only three – and they were cautious. Twolegs were prey for larger packs, and difficult for smaller. Still, they investigated – twolegs often had food nearby, food they could get.

The witu couldn't believe their luck when they saw that the twolegs were injured. That was good. One of their number noticed the box, which smelled of animal and meat. It would be good prey, if they could get it away from the twolegs... The small pack stalked into positions in the brush around the two shifters, quietly.

They had a plan.

Sauron's bones creaked alarmingly as he bent through the stretches. "Oh my that can't be good." He muttered to himself. One would think he would still be in alright shape after chasing down his spry daughter on numerous occasions. He thought that the only thing going for him was his longer limbs, she was a fast little sprite and he had to make sure he had either a radaku or a sprite on her at all times. The moment he relaxed she seemed to evaporate into thin air. Sneaky girl.

"I haven't had much experience with spitorogs, how did you catch it?" He tilted his head quizicaly.

Sauron again took up the familiar forms that part of him seemed to remember if not all of him. He mirrored Biroki as best as he could and when most of the drill was finished he began to feel light hearted and happy again. This wasn't so hard, he was doing okay, his arm hadn't fallen off yet and he hadn't dropped his lance which would have been really embarasing for him.

Sauron was in the middle of spinning his spear in a defensive manuever when something drooly slammed into it. The spin did what it was designed to do and repelled the snarling creature much to the shock of Sauron who stared a bit stupidly. Another of the creatures was going after the box of food.

"Next time we are leaving lunches in the trees." He muttered to himself as he directed his spear away from himself falling into a ready stance which fortunately they had just practiced. He glanced at Biroki to see if he was alright. "You okay? Did one come after you too?"

”Er, trickery and a net.” said Biroki. And spirit bindings he thought direly, but he wasn't going to tell Sauron that. With spirits, it wasn't always a good idea to name them.

Biroki was about to take a break from the drills and better tell the story of his quest to capture Nem'ker, without the spirity bits, when something – somethings – toothy and snarly suddenly made an appearance.

”Wha?” he exclaimed, but his magic had already answered his call. Flame blasted one of the witu, toasting it into oblivion as the other one snatched the food away in the resulting distraction of heat and light.

”Hey!” he shouted after it. ”I'm fine, but th-that's our lunch!”

Sauron chased the Witu that was going after his lunch, meanwhile another chased him from behind. Well this was a fine kettle of fish, he scowled and span, getting a n** for his trouble he tried to push the witu away but it was strong. "Biroki!" he panicked a bit. Thankfully his spear hilt held the witu at bay and he managed to shove it off without help.

By then the other witu was halfway out of the clearing with their lunch and he got up to chase then thought better as Biroki had magic, if he ran in the way the other shifter could not shoot without hitting sauron first. "You know I have half a mind to have a witu sandwhich." He snarled but was too slow to fend off the one he had shoved off before, it had attatched himself to his thigh which hurt like the dickens and he squawked with pain, before swatting at it trying to get it off, going for the nose which was tender on many creatures, he didn't want to go for the eyes, it would damage the creatures ability to hunt in the future and he just wanted it off him.

Lightning lanced from Biroki's fingers, stabbing into the witu thief with a brilliant flash of light and a crack of superheated air. The witu leapt up and yelped, it's muscles tensed painfully as the current ran through it and it fell, twitching, to the ground.

Biroki knew that would hold it for a while, and his attention darted to the one menacing Sauron. He could not use his magic, not without burning Sauron... Well, burning him more... But he did have a trick up his sleeve. It had been Zuri who had taught him the value of learning to attack up close... and of poisoning a long-hafted weapon, though that did little good for him here.

He struck at the witu with the end of his staff, wincing as his not-particularly-beefy arms took the brunt of the hit. He was not built for close combat, but he tried anyway, smacking the witu in its nose until it broke contact with an angry huff. Biroki gave it another whack on the nose for good measure.

”Sauron...” he exclaimed, ”Is it bad?!” he asked, readying his staff for another strike...

"No Biroki, I'll be alright, but I think we might have to go somewhere else for lunch," he twisted around and saw a tail on the edge of camp disapearing. "Wait! There he is! That one has the food!"

Never get between a shifter and his lunch, Sauron tried to get up but did so too fast. "You will have to get him Biro, I can't move that fast quite yet."

He may have hit his poor head on the way down, that would help explain the nausea and the inability to stand right away. He started to turn a bit green. Not good. This probably meant concussion. Joy, it would be an indeterminant amount of time where Seze fed him soup in their home. And she would both coddle and tease him the little scamp. And no doubt Kelina would have something to say. Might as well enjoy Biroki's company for the moment before the woman of his life converged on his poor injured, helpless self. He sprawled where he was, making a dirt angel and grinned. No doubt he looked a little demented, but he thought he might like the coddling, but there was only one way to find that out. He wondered if Biroki would get the lunch back, sadly he didn't think he could eat any anymore...then a thought occured to him. "When my daughter asks, tell her it was something much less dangerous then a witu, I wouldn't put it past her to come hunting one for a freaking pet or something."

It wasn't bad. Good. Biroki's magic was destructive and could only maintain healing for so long. And he was all out of poultices, so he'd have to get more...

”O-Okay, I'll get him...” Biroki smacked the Witu, the poison on his staff head taking effect in it's now wounded nose. It was a paralytic – it should slow its movements and make it sick – and the Witu shook it's head in surprised and backed away.

Good... well, not good for the beast, but if it left now out of discomfort then Biroki wouldn't have to worry about being cruel... He didn't like to be cruel.

He ran after the stunned witu, charging the air around him with lightning to make himself look especially ferocious. ”Back off!” he said to it as it shook its head and looked towards their lunch, ”Get out of here!”

It looked at him, and back at the food, before barking and fleeing – food was not worth risking the energy it could feel around the shifter. It's companion followed, somewhat jerkily. Not worth the risk indeed. They would find something easier.

Biroki picked up the lunch, some of the contents spilling out, having torn or come loose in the scuffle.

Most of it was there, though. ”We'll have our lunch after all!” he said, pleased, as he returned to Sauron's side. ”Its a bit s-smushed and messy, but I don't mind, if you don't...” he offered the basket.

He laughed. ”D-does your girl... is she fond of big, powerful animals?” She sounded like a headache... a whole different, preferable headache to Ikkio. Ikuri... Ikuri had been the perfect child. But Ikkio...

But Ikkio was who the stars had granted him, and he did love her.

”You have my word. She sounds like a handful...” he set out the... remains... of their lunc. ”My girl, Ikkio... she likes fierce animals, too. She has a pet Radaku.” he offered. At the very least, he could talk about her.

Yay done ^^

"I don't mind slightly ripped food either, as long as its here I'm happy." Sauron smiled with delight. Thank goodness Biroki had been here, Sauron could have ended of as Witu kibble and that just wasn't attractive at all.

"Yes my daughter too, she actually enabled me to get my own radaku, I don't for the life of me understand why they didn't just eat her, maybe she has some mystical skills I don't know about or she might just taste bad and they already know it." He shook his head. "Daughters." He rolled his eyes but grinned showing he didn't mean the exasperation, "I think my real test will be dating though." He gave a short laugh. "Thank you for saving my butt."

Daughters indeed.

Biroki shuddered. ”I don't even want to think about Ikkio and... dating.” he murmured, smiling meekly at Sauron.

”N-no problem. Have your lunch, and we'll continue training.” he took out his own lunch and smiled, lifting it as if in toast. ”To daughters?”
