I stumbled upon the Wikipedia entry for ASOUE and found something odd. In a nutshell, I think that the first name of the Baudelaire father is Bertrand. Can anyone confirm this? I just noticed it and I don't know if it was mentioned in the books and I wasn't paying attention or something or maybe someone just edited the entry. I have no idea. But here's the article so you can see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Series_of_Unfortunate_EventsIt's under unanswered questions.

One question that was there, thats really bugging me was:
Quote: What was the question mark object that chased Olaf's submarine away in The Grim Grotto?
What in god's name could that possibly be? confused A sea monster lol But seriously, my over grown imagination is limited on this one ;__;

I believe his name is mentioned in TPP, when the children are remembering their parents, their mom calls their dad "Bertrand". I also believe the name is mentioned in the Rare Edition of TBB.

3nodding I remember that being mentioned in the last book. Hate to bring this up yet again, but that would add to the possibility of Beatrice being the mother since Snicket likes alliteration so much. sweatdrop (Bertrand & Beatrice)

The 13th book is scheduled to be released October 13, 2006. The Beatrice Letters will be released sometime in September. Check it out arrow Lemony Snicket
Quote: Like an off-key violin concert, the Roman Empire, or food poisoning, all things must come to an end. Thankfully, this includes A Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket. Will Count Olaf prevail? Will the Beaudelaires survive? Will the series end happily? If there's nothing out there, what was that noise?

@ fletchen: Interesting stuff there. I just finished the PDF file.
I think the most interesting of the "13 shocking facts about LS" were:
[Whited out in case they may be spoilers]
# 13 He is finished. (With the series? His life?)
# 5 Lemony Snicket grew up with a terrible villian. (Does that mean familial or like a room mate? Also mentioned he attened boarding school I assume to be the one in the Austere Academy And given it was on the "Count Olaf" page....)
# 3 Lemony Snicket's niece is an orphan. (So does that mean Kit has a girl?)
I really like the cover for the Beatrice letters....pretty! ^_^

Daniel Handler's ASOUE has such a wonderful storyline and plot, that I'd pay millions to figure it all out :O
Well, not really but I still love it that much heart
If only they had made a better and more mysterious like movie for it :3
