"Hey... Can you pick me up? I'm at..."Laine sighed as she grumbled to herself irritably. She probably should have realized he might sneak out. Even if things seemed like they were getting better, getting back to normal. The teen was damn well glad she had managed to find the spare key to his car. This was probably another thing they'd get into a fight about later. God only known where his keys had gone to this time. There had been so many fights over the past week about those damn keys it was kind of ridiculous. She understand his reasons for wanting them. But she knew he could possibly do something he regretted if he had them. And Laine couldn't, and wouldn't risk it. She was grumpy, irritable and had half a mind to yell, scream and do god knows what. But the second Laine parked the car, and her eyes landed on him, all intentions to do anything when right out the window. He looked tired. It more ways then one. His joints had to be aching. Not just from the cold, but from whatever he had gotten himself into. Again she sighed, finally turning the car off and grabbing the heavy blanket she'd brought from the house. "Anyone ever tell you you're nuts?" She asked, wrapping the blanket around him when she approached. "Where do you wanna do this. Here, the car or at home?" Either way, they were having a talk.

He was so tired. He hurt in ways he didn't know he could hurt. Kor shifted in his spot, waiting for his fiance to come pick him up from the alleyway he was in, where he'd run into Buddingtonite and got himself recruited to the Negaverse. The lanky man seemed... small like this. Before he could really register the sound of a car and someone walking, there was a blanket wrapped around him and he just nestled into it, sighing. "Car. Heater." It was cold and he didn't really want to talk, but Laine did. Kor knew he had to do what Laine wanted. He'd snuck out of the house, made her worry again, probably made her super mad at him and he owed it to her. Looking up at her, he slowly leaned his head against her wherever he could before slowly pushing himself off the ground and trudging his way to the car, feet literally dragging a bit because he didn't have the energy to lift his boots. Once in the car, Kor just leaned the passenger seat all the way back and took a deep breath, shivering and shuddering before settling down. "....Go ahead." Meaning she could go ahead and yell at him.

"Heater will make you fall asleep though." Which he should have been doing to begin with, but that was neither here nor there. When he leaned against her, Laine just wrapped her arms around him, letting him leach her body heat as she helped him to the car. The white haired just snorted lightly as she climbed into the driver side and started the car, turning the heater on full blast. "Go ahead assumes I'm going to yell and scream. I don't think sneaking out warrants that exactly." It's not like he was some kid with a curfew. He could come and go as he pleased. "Yes, I'm irritated you snuck out but at the same time you shouldn't have to feel the need to sneak out of your own place Kor. I don't want it to feel like a prison for you." She glanced over at him for a moment, before leaning her own seat back reaching over brushing his hair outta his face before placing her hand over his cheek. "You look like s**t." She said, smiling weakly. "Do I even wanna know what possessed you to go outside with out a jacket or something? Do I even wanna know what you got yourself into??" Then she shook her head, propping herself up over the gap, Laine leaned over and kissed his cheek. "I'm glad you're okay hun."

He sighed once the heater came on and it started to warm up. Taking a breath, the man just gave a small smile and looked over to her, waiting. He was surprised that yelling didn't happen but it was honestly better it didn't. Kor's green eyes looked out the window on his side and he shrugged a little. "...I ran into a friend. Had a.... hard time with him." He couldn't just power up could he? He wasn't.. Kor just sighed and pushed his hand through his bangs before looking back over to her. "Just know I love you and that you won't come home hurt anymore, if I can help it." His hand reached out for hers and laced their fingers together. Since he'd grabbed hold of her right hand he toyed wit her ring finger, watching his skin slide against her own, comparing the tones. It was oddly serene, perfect even though he felt like he got hit by a semi-truck. "I know you don't want it to feel like a prison, baby, but I just... You'd be pissed if I said: Hey, 'm goin' out to make sure when you sneak out you're okay'. Am I right?"

"Oh really?" She answered absently. Kor running into friends wasn't a foreign concept at this point. The guy had a crap ton of ties. He was like knew everyone. She blinked at him, glancing at their hands. Aw crap. Guess he wasn't the only one who'd been caught sneaking out. That was until his words sank in. He didn't. There was no possible way right? She had a feeling there was every possible way and he in fact, did. Laine groaned, pulling her hand back and scrubbing at her face as she flopped back on her chair. "What did you do?"

"...Found someone who gave me what I needed to look after you." That was as plain and honest as it was getting minus outright telling her 'oh by the way I'm now Rutile and I had a hand SHOVED IN MY CHEST and now my whole body aches and I'm cold'. Kor's fingers twitched when her hand was pulled back and he chased after it, after a minute. With his brows knitting, he grabbed hold of her hand again and laced their fingers together in a strong, firm grip. It was important to him, keeping this bit of contact. He looked over at his future wife and just let his brows knit again. "Look, you were coming home in the early hours of the morning, sometimes with injuries and you'd tell me 'oh I fell' or something... I've sen movies, Laine, an' that's always a sign of abuse.." Kor trusted her but in the back of his head, his self destruction button was itching to be pushed. He was trying not to think that she had another man on the side, one that she was utterly afraid of breaking away from because he'd kill her, or something like that. He didn't want to go there because he hated jumping to conclusions. It was a bad history and road for him and Kor told himself he wasn't going to do it anymore. "....So.. I want to make sure you'll be okay."

"You know damn well that if someone was abusing me, they wouldn't have lived after the first hit. I don't put up with that kind of thing." Laine sighed, shaking her head again. "But I am okay. I know how to fight. My parents and friends look out for me. You, look out for me." It was a lost cause, trying to play it off like she didn't know what he was talking about. Guess she should bite the bullet. "Alright, back outside. We're not doing this in a freaking car." She muttered, shutting off the car. "You're going to tell me. Everything."

He took a deep breath when she said that. Kor knew she knew how to defend herself, but damn it, she was coming home hurt sometimes and he didn't like it at all Green eyes stared out of his window again at the silence and he felt like he'd done a bad thing. Anxiety crept up and his stomach felt like it was in knots. But she shut off the car and said what she did and Kor whipped his head around to watch her. "...At least get us home," he said with a noise. He didn't want to do this on the street. It was cold and he couldn't defend himself if something was going to attack because he was tired and he hurt so bad. "Please? We can get into it, just not here." Plus the house heater was better than a car heater. Maybe he'd take a nice relaxing bath. Who knows.

Laine made a small noise of irritation as she dropped her head on the steering wheel. Damn it. If it was what she thought it was, and she was almost certain it was that, she didn't want to do that at home. But... he didn't know that.. Maybe they could get away with it? The teen sighed. She was going to kill whoever it was that started this. "Fine..." She said as she started the car again. "Again, 'Get into it' applies I'm going to yell and scream... I'm not." He did what he did for his own reasons. And she couldn't stop him for it. After all, she'd done the same thing once. After a few minutes they were home, and both safely (and hopefully it stayed that way) ushered through the door. The white haired girl leaned against the door as she scrubbed at her face. Well this had been a particularly fun night... And the party hadn't even started yet.

This night was just getting better and better. Now she was irritated at him. Kor didn't say a single word the whole ride home, he wouldn't even look her way because honestly, he felt like he was just going to push her into further annoyance. He was ushered in the house and he just curled up with his blanket on the couch while she stood against the door and ducked his head like a chastised kid. "So what're we doing?"

Laine shot the back of the couch an irritated look, thankful he couldn't see it. "Talk. We're going to talk." She said as she picked herself up off the door and over to the couch, where she perched on the arm of the couch. "You said you've made it so I won't come home hurt. How?" Blue eyes stared at him before slipping closed. Climbing down from her perch, Laine gently eased his arms open before crawling in his lap. "Kor... I'm not mad at you. I just... I need to know alright? It's really important you show and tell me everything about what you're talking about Babe... So please. Just for a moment alright?" Depending on what she saw, she'd have to act fast.

"....I don't know how to tell you without it making it sound like I'm high or trippin' or something," he murmured to her, not meeting her gaze at all. "But I swear I'm sober. ...But look.. I ..saw the future, I guess, or something. I wasn't.. me. I was someone called Rutile and I was a Lieutenant or something." He took a deeper breath and lounged himself on the couch, arms around her hips. "I was powerful. I helped you.. We were together. You weren't.. you though. You were.. well I don't remember the name right off the top of my head. Anyway. I went and.. sought after someone who could make this a possibility and he... kind of shoved his hand in my chest and there was pain and a light and just... I am now Rutile?" That was the lamest way he could say it, but it's how it happened.

"Sweetheart, you know I would never think something like that." She said as she reached up, turning him so he could face her. "I know you're sober." Laine brushed his bangs out of his face and off his shoulders, letting the man speak. When he leaned back, she followed after him, placing a kiss in the crook of his neck as she hummed quietly. A Lieutenant.. So he was Negaverse now huh? Maybe now she could breathe a little easier... But she still had to be sure. She still had to see. "I know you were..." She murmured against his shoulder. "You were a big help, I remember that much. But I still need to see babe. Just for a minute alright? Please, I just have to make sure." Finally she sat back, biting her lip. "I'll show you who I was, if you show me who you are." Saint Sergio Scarin your fiance there Kor...

Kor tried to recall what Buddingtonite... Richard had taught him about powering up. Could he do it sitting down? Probably. The dark man just took a hard breath and swallowed as he looked at his fiance. Slowly, he reached out and took her hand, kissing the back of it before shifting away. With effort the tired, sore man managed to get to his feet. Okay, concentrate. And like that, he was powered up. Belts everywhere, hair magically pulled back in a rubber band. "Here I am.. Rutile.." And he still sounded so very tired.

Laine practically launched herself off the couch and tackled him on point. "Drop it." she said, burying her face in his uniform. Laine didn't care if he crumpled on the spot and took her down with it. "I just needed to see, I believed you I just.... If you were on the wrong side. I don't know what I'd do..." She sighed as the fingers of one hand curled into his uniform while the other moved to her pocket before pulling out a strange looking pen. "I'm sorry, you can let go now babe... I'm sorry. It's my turn now." The hand around her pen tightened and she muttered her transformation phrase, her own appearance altering. "My name's Azurite baby... This is what I've been doing. But, you know that now huh?"
