"Kzt. Status? Over."

"All's clear here, ma'am. Pokemon are leaving. Should I scout on ahead? Over."

"Do that. Kzt. Over."

"Roger. Over and out."

The shrieks and cries of fleeing Pokemon resounded in the Galactic grunt's ears. She was shadowed out under a flood of birds flapping away in terror as Poochyena, Zigzagoon, and several other forest inhabitants scurried away down by her ankle. Sliding a thumb onto her communicator, she disconnected from the higher-up as the wind picked up overhead. Cetus visibly frowned and strode forward; Pokemon parting from her path like the splitting tides of an ocean. Pushing the whipping locks from her face, she watched a Team Galactic helicopter bound over the the forest canopy and head in the direction of the landing pad she had other grunts had set up for it.

Guess my duty here is done, she thought to herself before giving a heel-face turn, Time to take care of the east.

Kicking off into a run, Cetus followed the flood of escaping Pokemon; going against the crash and swell as she headed the opposite way of their running. Eventually, her feet took her to a clearing, and her dark teal eyes scanned the treetops and lower trunks for any nearby bodies.

Plucking two Pokeballs from her belt, she tossed them into the air and cried, "Shea, Echoed Voice! Kaitos, Surf!"

From the two sphere popped a Liepard and a Milotic. As commanded, the feline cried out to the treetops. Suddenly, a cascade of frightened Flying-types broke off into the skies. Kaitos fanned out his tail and a wave of water erupted over the forest floor. Pokemon hiding in nooks were flooded out. Soaking wet, they shook themselves free of the wetness and ran just as others before. Cetus sucked her teeth in a huff.

"Tch, how much more of this do I have to do?"

"Deli--!!"

This was the sharp explanation that was heard, followed by a thump to the ground. A red and yellow Delibird with a brown tail tripped where he was running, a result of stumbling into some unsuspected Zigzagoons and Poochyenas that were coming his way. Fubuki, as he was called by his owner, Miri was generally a pretty bumbly Ice-type to begin with, but this a little ridiculous. Normally, he fell on his own, without anything around. Now, all of a sudden, he was surrounded by a bunch of other pokemon, and he struggled to get up in order to catch up to his trainer. She had already gotten a ways ahead of him by that point.

Miriam "Miri" Jacobs rode on the back of her uniquely-colored Rampardos, Allene. It didn't take her long to notice that her main pokemon had fallen away from her side, though. Ever since she had gotten the Delibird in her youth, she was quick to pick up on his disappearances. "Fubuki," she called back, stopping Allene with her heels and turning her around with a motion of the harness she was using, "you ok?"

It was at this point that she had noticed the swarms and swarms of pokemon that were running away from the forest. Without hesitating, she led Allene back to where Fubuki had fallen, and scooped him up. She then proceeded to hold him on her bag, piggyback style. She would ride on Allene and Fubuki would ride on her; this would prevent him from falling any more. As she adjusted with her pokemon, her eyes fell on the wild ones that were coming from pretty much every direction. Even swarms of Flying types were taking off into the skies. "Something's up," she said to her two pokemon that she had out with her. "Ramp! Rampardos!" Allene was clearly ready to go check things out. Miri could count on her to be ready to jump head first into anything. Taking her advice on this, she spurred the fossil pokemon onward to the scene where all the action was.

By the time the Ranger and her pokemon had gotten to their destination, a Liepard and a Milotic were already attacking straggler pokemon that had yet to dispurse. "Fubuki, go," she exclaimed, pointing at the two pokemon in question! Ahead of her, she could also see a middle-age woman with teal hair -- their trainer, no doubt. "Blizzard!" The Delibird jumped off his trainer's back with surprising ease, given the fact that he had stumbled over other pokemon not ten minutes before. As he took off into the air, he expelled a chilling blast of freezing air in the direction of both the Liepard and the Milotic. There was no way that they were going to get away with all of the destruction they were causing to the forest.

"Whatever you and the rest of your group have planned, you need to cease and desist right now." This was directed at Cetus, and there was a definite authoritative tone in her voice. "Not only is this forest a protected zone, but you don't have the authority or jurisdiction to go through with such acts. Cease and desist, or I'm afraid I'll have to use force to get you to stop." There wasn't a choice -- no alternative option given. They just needed to stop, otherwise, things were going to heat up even more.

((Impromptu renaming of some of my 'mon, so there is a small change from my first post to here when I refer to them. Nothing particular though. Hope it is fine.))

The Galactic grunt's hands graced her hips as she looked on to her Pokemon's handiwork. She nodded her head in satisfaction, until a sudden bellow from behind jerked her chin over her shoulder. Her lips thinned in dismay at the sight of a ranger commanding her to cease and desist. She sucked her teeth again and, as her body swiveled around to take in the sight of the do-gooder and her Pokemon, a hand meandered down into her uniform's pocket and she withdrew her communicator.

"Ma'am, we have a bit of a problem. Over," she spoke into the mic, her tone falling low to a monotonous buzz. Her annoyance was brimming because she was be disturbed from her work, but letting even a hint of this be heard in her voice would lead to a sharp chewing out.

"Arceus, what is it, Cetus? Bzt, bzzzt. Over."

"Seems a Pokemon ranger has caught on to your plans. Over."

"Haah," the feminine voiced sighed, "Take care of it, operative. Then I want you back here this- kzzt instant. Your task is over for now. I don't you attracting any more attention. Over."

"Roger. Over."

A gloved thumb slid over the screen as Cetus's teal eyes fell half-lidded; reflecting both her detest and disgust all in one expression. Even her pink painted lips stretched back to one side as she continued to study the ranger. Both Saiph and Schemali had stopped prematurely, having also drawn their attention to the ranger as well, but were also awaiting command from their trainer. Cetus took a single step forward, a subtle reflection of her stance of not backing down.

Even when the chilling wind of the Blizzard bristled the hairs on the back of her neck on end, she held her position, and commanded with a sharp cry, "Saiph, Safeguard! Schemali, Shadow Ball!"

The Milotic took the brunt of the attack; shielding the feline Dark-type from the frigid blast headed toward both of them. With a fan of his tail, a veil of white enveloped the duo and, while it did not lessen the damage caused by the Blizzard, it prevented their demise come a frozen end. As Saiph shook off the shiver that snaked down his spine, Schemali sharply dashed from around him. Taking to the air in a high jump, an orb of burbling energy formed before her mouth as she formed a Shadow Ball.

"Lemrow!" she cried out as she shot the mass of energy in the direction of the ranger and her Pokemon, shooting back to the Milotic's side with a sharp glare on her face.

[ No problem. <3 ]

If she wasn't backing down, then fine. Two could play at that game. "Fly, Fubuki," she interjected quickly, not wanting both of her pokemon to get hit by the ball of energy that was coming their way. Without hesitation, the Delibird took quickly to the air and was able to dodge the incoming attack. Miri, herself, acted quickly as well. She jumped off of her Rampardos, tucked, and rolled to the ground dexterously. While it wasn't ideal to leave her pokemon like that, she knew that Allene could handle the brunt of the blast. If all three of them were injured, there was no way they'd be able to stop anybody.

"Par...dos!"

Allene braced herself when the mass of energy came at her. The Rock type dug her feet into the ground, black claws digging into the soft dirt. She was hit by the blast, but luckily she didn't move far. Once the energy had dissipated, she was able to shake it off, and let out a roar of pure anger at Cetus and her pokemon. The Rampardos had always been one of the more fiery of her pokemon, and she was not going to stand for being attacked, or for them forcing wild pokemon from their homes. Miri smirked, but then offered the Galactic grunt a warning. "Careful," she said, looking to her pokemon. "You made her angry. Allene, Stone Edge!"

Another roar rumbled from Allene's throat, an animalistic and guttural noise. If some wild pokemon hadn't fled the forest in fear, they probably would have then after hearing such a scream. The Rock type stomped her feet and glared, not at the woman, nor the Milotic, but the Liepard. Craggy and jagged pieces of rock burst out from underneath him, in an attempt to seriously injure the Dark type with a critical hit.

But Allene wasn't the only one who was attacking. From the skies above, Fubuki swept down and attacked at the Milotic with a powerful blow of his talons, hoping he would damage the Water type at least a little. He screeched as he came down, but it was nowhere near as intimidating as the roar his teammate had just unleashed. But hey -- it was the thought that counted, right? Once he was done, he quickly flew back to his trainer, and Miri carefully got to her feat as she surveyed the battle before her.

It was then that she looked Cetus directly in her eyes. Oh, she and her team were going down, and she was going to be the person who brought them there.

Saiph's silence was broken come the swath of talons that pierced his tender skin. The Milotic tried to defend itself by fanning his tail from the blows; he had no intention of attacking -- his gentleness preventing him from doing so -- but he would not give up the fight to protect his trainer. When Fubuki withdrew back to his trainer, the serpent was heaving with a noticeable furrow of determination crinkling his once peaceful features. Unfortunately, his stamina was sapped exponentially trying to fend off the Delivery Pokemon, so he was nearing his limit.

Cetus gritted her teeth, taking a step back as both desperation and determination tugged her in opposing directions. Saiph wouldn't make it if he continued playing defense and, if Schemali was downed, she would have to turn to another Pokemon to attack and losing her entire party wasn't part of the mission specs. The Galactic grunt's teal eyes darted in-between her swaying Water-type and the attack headed for her Liepard. She would have to sacrifice one and it was obvious who it was:

"Schemali, dodge!"

The roar of the Earth beneath her feet had the Liepard on edge. She could feel sweat pearl by her temple, but she stood her ground against the jagged protrusions headed her way. Her eyes flicked back to Cetus wildly, awaiting her command, and the feline almost let out a exhalation in relief when she told her to dodge. In the nick of time, Schemali's litheness allowed her to elegantly dart back before the rocks could deal a heavy amount of damage. Just as the Liepard was saved, Saiph's sense of self faltered. Like a coil of rope dropped by a misplaced hand, he crashed to the ground with a tremble as if he were still willing himself to rise again.

His Pokeball and her dialed communicator were in Cetus's hands faster than she had the chance to utter a chance of another attack. She withdrew Saiph and pressed the handset to her ear.

After a short crackle of static, she bellowed, "Deneb, I need you hear! ASAP!"

The Pigeot, who was always out of his Pokeball whenever the grunt needed a chance of escape, turned an eye to the headset concealed into his feathers. Rolling his eyes, he made a sharp arc in the air and, with a speed that could rival a Rapidash's, he dive-bombed down into the forest clearing. The frown etched on Cetus's face was enough to draw age on her rather youthful face. Her body was tense and rigid as she impatiently awaited the sign of her escape.

"Pigeeeeoooot!" cried out the large Flying-type.

At once, Cetus's eyes snapped up, and she barreled back a few steps. Talon to arm connected and pulled her up as she withdrew her Liepard as well. From the momentum, the Galactic grunt could see the ranger she was once fighting disappear behind the tangle of treetops. She shot the woman a mock salute as Deneb took her away from there to another part of the forest.
