et cetera - A topic for questions that don't fit in any subject!November 17th, 2014: Zero Omega Ms Jizzerton Items/Misc?It seems the recolored items aren't showing up on tektek. This is a bit of trouble for an artist trying to draw commissions for people and not having the best reference. It's also difficult to see what true potential my avi has since half of my items are missing when I inventory tektek. Will tektek be updated soon with all it's missing items? Nothing we can do about this, TekTek is run by another person and not affiliated with Gaia Online. You'll have to bug them to update the site.

December 8th, 2014: Narumi Misuhara Nenanah MISCGaia Online's domain name registration is set to expire on January 28 next year. With the shutdown of both zOMG and Tentacl, some are worried that this site would be next. Are you going to renew the site's registration or let it expire, If you're going to renew, could you please do it ASAP to at least show some visible effort on keeping this site online? Question is originally by ( Alexius08 ) I am using Nenanah's Ask the Staff Question Posting Service. Of course we will renew, but don't you think it's still a tad early?

Keep an eye out- we're giving all of Gaia a chance to participate in our Charity giveaway (at no cost to their own wallet). Zero Omega O.T.L. FeaturesAs an incentive to keep adblockers disabled on the site, you're offering item grants to users without adblockers. The last time you did this, you stopped doing the grants without ever telling anyone. Given the preponderance of malware from unblocked ads, the lack of information regarding what the grants will be, and your own history in abandoning this (and other) features, is there any reason for us to actually disable our adblockers? We browse the site with ads on as well and have never actually come across any malware ads, so if you see them we definitely encourage you to report them. The guide to reporting ads can be found here. We do remove any malicious ads that are reported and any ads that we come across ourselves when we browse Gaia. As for the ads grants, we will be more diligent in letting users know when grants will be going on and when they won't be. This way users can feel comfortable about when they want to disable their adblock.

March 9th, 2015: bluealaris vineco FeaturesThe Daily Reward feature has been a generous addition to Gaia for a while now. However it has been relatively boring rewards as of late. Although Gaia has managed to adapt to the amount of gold flow into it's reward to make it seem more worthy. Is there going to be any unique rewards to the Daily Rewards added in the future? Could there even be added into the chance granted a few Willie Wonka like tickets? Or one of the dump money into this event which at the end rather than getting random chance items it would add items into the Daily Reward? The Daily Reward recently began dropping questionable dresses, but we can certainly give it another update.

First, we'll start off my re-iterating our Staff Notice from earlier: Quote: We wanted to take a moment to provide some transparency in our recent letter sent to TekTek, what it means for the site, and why we sent it. As you may know, we are currently contacting TekTek over its usage of our intellectual property (IP). Let's outline the basic reasons: for a very long time, TekTek has benefited from the traffic generated by users travelling to their site from Gaia Online, and users have been able to utilize TekTek to craft dream Gaia Online avatars. In fact, many users aren’t even aware that it is an entirely separate site from Gaia, and one we have no input on. In general, there has been a healthy relationship between TekTek and Gaia Online as we have allowed this. Many, many months ago, TekTek launched a competitor site that directly began featuring ads on services carrying our intellectual property. As a business practice, this is not okay and we would like to resolve the matter with TekTek in a way that allows their site to remain up, and our property to stay protected. We are waiting for them to reply to our initial letter, taking the site down is our final resort if we are unable to come to a mutually beneficial decision. We would like to thank Gaians for their understanding as we continue to work through this. We will update you all when we have a resolution to this. That being said, we are still waiting to hear back from TekTek about reaching a compromise that is mutual beneficial. This would mean finding a way to keep the site up and accessible for users. We understand that there are users that find features of TekTek, such as the dream avatar creator and account worth calculator, very valuable and useful. As a result, should the worst come to worst and the site get shut down, then we will start exploring the possibilities of creating these features for Gaia Online. Should this happen, we will not be able to deliver an exact replica of them, however, their function will be comparable.

As it is, we are planning to create an avatar worth calculator and a Dream Avatar Dress up system, multiple poses and a direct link to the marketplace to wishlist with. These are hesitantly scheduled for release in early May. We have re-opened the SCAS guild to test this feature along with a number of other released that are planned for late spring and early summer. bluealaris Andranis Features I think?I'm not sure what category to put this under... xD; But is there any chance Gaia might raise the minimum ages for the site? 17 without parental okay, anything under WITH parental okay. The items and some of the announcements have become decidedly... NOT PG-13 anymore. I'm kind of worried that parents giving consent for their kids to join Gaia also don't know what's actually entirely ON this site, and it admittedly kind of alarms me that people are justifying the continued PG-13 rating with "Kids see this on TV all the time" in regards to stripper poles, avatars in as little as a thong or with leaves over their privates, missing heads that have what looks like blood spurting out... I'm concerned that Gaia might get into some deep legal troubles because of it, and wind up shut down if the wrong parents see it and see that anybody over 13 can join and make these avatars if they find themselves with the on-site financial means. The PG-13 label is more like a guideline than law. We are COPPA compatible, which means that users under the age of 13 are not permitted to join. Because Gaia Online is neither a site promoting alcohol or pornography, there are no requirements in terms of our content that require us to make the site 18+. There are some items that are tongue-in-cheek and some that are more violent or sexual in nature than you might find in a children's show, but this is a community of users that are 13+.

March 30th, 2015: bluealaris Castiel Lover MiscWould Gaia ever consider doing a charity item sale to help accepted users that apply for it? For example, my dad was in a motorcycle accident on the 14th, heading to Daytona Beach's bike week, and is in the hospital with spine injuries and related problems. With proof of everything, would Gaia consider helping Gaians like me with a single pose charity item (in this case, perhaps the helmet that saved his life) and giving a % of sales to the Gaian that needs help (in this case, medical bills and the loss of his income)? That is something we've never considered, I will have to talk it over with our legal team to see if its something that we could feasibly do. Personal charities are a minefield due to accountability/taxes/ect. I'm sorry to hear that your family is going through a tough time right now, and I wish your dad the best.

There was a holiday Switchem theme I loved to pieces but I can't remember what holiday it was and I wish I'd had a way to save it. Yes, we've been advised by our team that raising charity items for the benefit for a single individual or family has a very high risk of fraud and other snafus. Long story short- if we raise money for charity we need to donate to an organization (we try to select one who are highly rated in the Public Integrity Index). If you are receiving aid from a charity or organization, or have a program that you feel a personal investment in please feel free to recommend them. heart

Is there any way to specifically whitelist that exact URL? >.< The blacklist on the .tk top level domain would supersede any white listing.
