➳Personality:
Like a fire, Honovi is warm, but dangerous if mishandled. She can be your best friend if you play your cards right, but she can quickly become your worst enemy if you betray her. Sure, she's a nice girl with a pretty face, but she's got a wicked swinging arm and she's certainly not afraid to use it. Her hammer is used, first and foremost, for punishing those who betray her trust. Making an enemy out of Honovi is an absolute, there is no way to redeem yourself once you betray her. If you were a close friend, you've lost any chance of being in her good graces, tough luck. You should've thought about what you did before you broke her trust, numskull.
To those she's closest with, Honovi is far less volatile. While she can be downright cruel and unforgiving to people she hates, she's the sweetest thing when she likes you. She'll comb your hair, make you a meal, even sing you a lullaby if you can't fall asleep, it's a complete three sixty. In truth, Honovi is a huge people person, and loves to make a difference in another person's life, no matter how small. The fact that she can do something to help you makes her feel that all her work is worth the trouble. Yeah, she likes to dole out the punishments when they're deserved, but that doesn't mean she can't relish in a day where she doesn't have to break a skull, either. A girl's arm needs a day off from violence once in while!

History
Honovi's parents brought her into the world while they were traveling through Tendaji as traders, and whatever happened to their caravan afterwards is still a mystery. Novi, as she would later be dubbed, was found tucked against a tree, midst the smoldering remains of her parent's wooden caravan, and taken by a prentice who had seen the smoke while hunting with a group of friends. However, due to the girl's mixed blood heritage, Honovi ended up in Zena, far from anything that her parents would have called home.
The girl, a leaf-wind-ice hybrid called Anais, took infant Honovi straight to her mother, a wind-ice hybrid, and explained what she had seen. The familiar caravan, the bodies, and the names etched upon the metal plaque that remained among the rubble. It was all too clear to her, the infant that she held in her arms belonged to her uncle, a notorious thief who was also her father's twin, and with that alone as an argument, she begged her mother to let Honovi stay. However, her mother and father had recently separated and her mother was far from agreeable, Honovi was to be returned to Tale at once. Anais, at the end of her rope with her mother, agreed to bring Honovi to Tale, on the condition that she could stay with her father once they arrived, and eagerly packed for the three week journey the next morning.
Honovi traveled with Anais to the village of Isd, where her father had moved three months prior, and arrived to a ransacked house. Everything her father had to his name was littered along the floor and shattered, while the walls laid out the rest of the tragic story. Bloodstains and broken glass, a trail that ultimately lead Anais to her father's grave at the edge of town. Distraught, but unwilling to return home to her mother, Anais brought Honovi to Yera, where she knew her grandfather was still living. Their grandfather, an aging Brute named Kanapima, opened his home to them and shared in Anais' grief. Two of his sons had died in brutal, senseless ways, leaving their daughters without a place to call home. He vowed, despite his age, that he would provide both girls with a loving home and raise them just as he had raised all twelve of his sons in Yera when he was young. Anais and Honovi would always have a safe place to live as long as he was still standing.
Honovi grew up without any memory of her parents, but heard countless tales from the mouth of her cousin and her ever laughing grandfather. The antics her father and his brother would get into. The way they would laugh and play pranks on their brothers. Everything she would ever need to know about herself and who her father was was painted for her with words and gave her dreams she held close to her heart. A pair of twins who loved to trade and cause trouble, a woman who could sing a monster to sleep, clear as day and as vivid as if they had never died. Her childhood was comfortable and warm because of this, and left her more than eager to pick up a weapon once she was old enough to train.
Nights nestled against her grandfather's chest soon became days of showing off the skills she had learned from her elders that day, and with a voice reminiscent of her mother's, she proclaimed her love for her grandfather's weapon, the hammer. She wanted to emulate how he moved, just as she learned how to laugh as he did, and vowed to avenge the lives of her uncle and her parents as soon as she was able. Her grandfather was far too old to seek the vengeance they deserved, and Anais had long since decided upon the path of healing, which left it up to Honovi alone to settle the score. Kanapima, filled with pride, thoroughly encouraged her choice of weapon and urged her to find a mentor, a task that Honovi would find easier said than done. Of all the people in Yera, there seemed to be a small number of guards, and an even smaller number of those who had chosen a hammer as their weapon of choice. How was she supposed to learn how to use a hammer when the only expert she knew was her aging grandfather?
Then, the war against Oba began, and a mentor presented himself. A Brute, far taller than her grandfather, with a hammer etched with a floral design. He was everything she had been looking for in a mentor. A strong build, a furious strike... He was perfect. She raced home quickly to tell her grandfather and pointed him out once the war had ended, only to pause as her grandfather's eyes went wide.
There was something familiar about the arrow around this man's neck, something that made her grandfather turn his eyes away in shame. Something about his son, his youngest son. He advised that Honovi find another mentor, which she quickly refused, creating the first argument that they'd ever had. Why hadn't she been introduced to him if they were related? Why wasn't she allowed to choose him as a mentor because of the arrow around his neck? It made no sense to her! Her grandfather was being unreasonable and, quite possibly, senile. With or without her grandfather's approval she would make this man her mentor and avenge her father, mother, and uncle as she had promised.
No matter how many lines she crossed along the way.

Honovi lives with her grandfather, Kanapima, and her older cousin, Anais, in the town of Yera in Tale. They live in a multi-platform home, with Kanapima's room the closest to the ground, which sits about five minutes from the town itself. It's a quiet little place, give or take the loud laughter that often echoes from inside it's walls during dinner hours.

Kanapima: "One Who Is Talked Of" Grandfather; Leaf Tribe; Honovi's beloved grandfather who absolutely spoils her. Lately he's grown a bit quiet after Honovi's meeting with her new mentor, Yaholo, but he's no less loving and funny than before.
Anais: "Gracious, Merciful" Cousin; Ice/Wind/Leaf hybrid; Ana is Honovi's best friend and biggest supporter. They're about as close as sisters.

Yaholo: "One who yells" Mentor; Alkidike/Leaf hybrid; Honovi's self-proclaimed mentor (and first cousin) who has absolutely no idea how to handle her right now. Honovi likes him for his strength and how down to earth he seems.
