Personality: Makoto is friendly and a lot more down-to-earth than the other students. This is possibly the reason why he is capable of approaching and befriending them in Free Time sequences. Kelena refers to him as a ‘herbivore man,’ which means that Makoto is likely to be the passive one in a relationship; this is reinforced in his conversation with others.
According to himself, Makoto's most distinguishing feature is his optimism and because of it, he's capable of befriending almost anyone, even the most antisocial such as Haseo back in Shibuya. Makoto would make use of this particular trait later on in the final trial by preventing the other students from giving in to the despair that starts to overtake them, earning him the title Ultimate Hope.
Biography: In his childhood, Makoto led a normal human life, being raised by a single mother. But his sudden sicknesses and strange health defects seemed unnatural, so all the children and even teachers feared him and thought of him as a monster, throwing slangs such as 'God cursed you.' or 'You freak.' He got into fights often and injured all his classmates, and the only one who could stop him was his younger sister Komaru. Makoto always admired Komaru and wanted to become like her the most. Since then, Makoto had lived somewhat a normal life in Japan, living by his father's lessons. After getting into another fight with a group of thugs, and being fired from another one of his part-time jobs, Shizuku, strictly reminded Makoto that he would have to make a living on his own someday. After he treated his wounds, Shizuku asked him if he would be alright without Komaru around since she was going to move to a new academy. Makoto admitted that he was also worried, but he said that he had done nothing wrong. After being prompted by the deacons on going to the job interview, Makoto saw Shizuku consulting a family and commented that studying for Exorcism and priesthood must be hard with having to preach and get rid of things that don't even exist, to which Shizuku disagreed and claimed that Darkness exist within human hearts, just as Light exist within human hearts too.
Later, after coming back from the interview with a new job, he saw that the house and chapel had caught on fire. All the deacons and some of the workers were dead, and Makoto has seen his father badly wounded. His dying words were for Makoto to be good on his own, and always make the right decisions. Shizuku also said that he was never alone, but died before finishing his sentence. Makoto let out a cry so fierce, that he passed out within the burning building that had suddenly been put out. Waking up in the hospital, Makoto had been given the will in which his late parents had left him their savings. Instead, Makoto planned to have a proper funeral for his father, burying him next his mother. Many people attended, but he thought nobody could feel the sadness he felt. Maybe this was the darkness Shizuku spoke of. Instead of coming in formal funeral clothes, he came with the jacket that his mother had given him on his Eighth birthday in memory of her.
After Shizuku's funeral, Makoto stayed behind at his grave. When he was about to call a phone number of Shizuku's friend, a phone near Makoto rang. To his surprise, he saw something that came out of a movie. Knights and magicians were surrounding him, pointing strange key shaped swords along with with a red haired woman. The woman gave Makoto three choices: him killing them, them killing him, or Makoto committing suicide. He choose neither of those options and instead decided to become a Keyblade Wielder himself, stating that he didn't want anyone else to die. Hearing this, the woman became amused and accepted his idea, letting Makoto start at the Keyblade Academy.

Other Information: Makoto had been practicing free running for a while, since he's used to constantly running away from conflicts which is either gang related, or bullies wanting money from him. Either way, Makoto learned hand-to-hand combat and kung fu through the streets of Shibuya, before leaving his world.

Keyblade Upgrades: Alone, the Sky Wing allows it's user to travel faster than the average wielder, allowing for quick strikes and easier to land critical hits.
Combat Techniques:
◘ Icebreaker Strike Raid - Hurl both Keyblades toward enemies. One keyblade holds Blizzara magic, while the other holds Fira magic.
◘ Devil's Dance - Unleash a streaming barrage of sword slashes that dance around their doomed targets with breakneck speed, finishing with a home run swing that deals a massive amount of damage.
◘ Double Sliding Rush - Lay into enemies with two powerful charging attacks.
◘ Air Sweep - Crack down on surrounding foes with a jumping spin attack, adding an extra hit for followup combos.
◘ Reflect Chain Rave - Hold your Keyblade by the chain and swing it around as you charge. Magic spells will be reflected.
☠ Aerial Slam - High kick the opponent in the air, and follow up with an extra mid-air high kick, And finish by slamming enemy in the floor with both keyblades.
☠ Zantetsuken - After blocking an oncoming hit with perfect timing (dice roll) the user unsheathe's the keyblade with blinding speed to cut through far away enemies with a single motion repeatedly skewering an enemy up to three times, with proper timing.
☠ Ars-Arcanum - Once in maximum power, Unleash a flurry of attacks. If the final hit connects, attack with five powerful slashes.
☠ Shun Goku Satsui, "Instant Prison Murder" The user enshrouds both hands with shadows, as they charge at the opponent at high speed, and grapple them. Once grappled, the user will viciously try to tear away at the opponents flesh, trying to kill the person.

Hellstorm - The user focuses the element of flames within their keyblade, to mix fire magic with their physical attacks, dealing twice as much damage to the opposite element.
Diamond Dust - The user incorporates the element of ice in their keyblade, sending pillars of ice magic towards the enemy.
Thunderbolt - The user incorporates the power of lightning in their keyblade, sending a strong current of electricity towards the enemy.
Satsui no Hadō (殺意の波動, "Surge of Murderous Intent") - The Satsui no Hado is more or less the same as the anti form drive, but is rooted in the darker aspects of the natural human instinct (including the desire to survive, trample, and impose over opposition), and on a metaphysical level, the natural occurrence and manifestation of loss, decline, and destruction.
To tap into the Satsui no Hado, a person must be so consumed with the desire for winning, or else possess such intense rage, that they are willing to murder. As such, only people who push themselves to be the best at any cost can take full advantage of it, however, the untrained mind can be driven into insanity if they are not ready for it. Learning the Satsui no Hado is the first step in learning the most fatal technique known to all of their martial arts - the Shun Goku Satsu, known also as the "Instant Prison Murder."
or the people who do succeed in controlling it, they become very strong, but at the cost of losing their humanity and compassion; they develop a cold outlook on life and a nihilistic detachment from themselves, as well as other people, and develop a murderous (and even suicidal) desire to fight.
Such people also gain the power to sense, and potentially influence, the emergence of Darkness in others. Once a person has tapped into the Satsui no Hado within them, it can be very hard to resist. There is only one wielder known to date that was able to utilize its power without completely giving in to its murderous and darkest urges.
