It wasn't even an hour after the war had officially ended that Samoset and Kennet had started bickering over something. Yera hadn't even begun to reassemble it's army as the shouting turned to flailing and slapping, and finally the typical twin tousle along the ground. Samoset had his hands in his brother's hair, tugging and snarling, while his legs kept the Blade pinned to the sand underneath him.

"Care to repeat what you said, little brother?" He growled, flopping to the side as he was finally shoved off. "I happen to know a huge secret of yours and it could all be blown through the roof right now if you don't apologize!"

Kennet shoved Samoset off of him and scurried towards a tree, in hopes of making a quick escape into it's boughs. However, without having much practice climbing up Tale's trees, his hands slipped around it's bark and left him to face his brother on the ground. The Blade grasped the handle of his spear and leveled his gaze into a fierce, narrowed glare, before closing the distance between he and his brother again.

"I meant what I said, you're the world's biggest suck up!" He shouted, arching his back so he'd be taller than the other. "And if you think I'm going to care about your stupid threats anymore, you've got another thing coming! I'm the one with the title, Samoset, and you're still a whining, begging little suck up who couldn't hit a target if it were right in front of his face!"

His brother's fist hit him in the gut before he could move to unsheathe his spear and caused him to gasp, but only for a moment. He quickly caught his breath and swung towards Samoset, before chasing him through the market square.

"Get back here, you rotten sack of meat!" He screamed.

To say that Yaholo wasn't surprised as the sound of his son's screaming reached his ears would be an understatement. The Brute skidded to a halt as he made his way through the market and turned just as Kennet darted past him, his eyes squinting shut in irritation. Admittedly, this would be a new record for them, they'd gone hours without fighting because of this war, and he knew the "peace" of that would end sooner or later. He just wished that it could've been longer than thirty minutes after the treaty had been signed...

"Excuse me." He grumbled, pushing himself through the crowd behind him and racing after his twins. He caught up with them quickly and approached them slowly, before simply tugging Samoset under his left arm and pushing Kennet towards a tree. He eyed Samoset as he struggled to get out of his grasp and took a long, deep breath.

"Are you freaking KIDDING ME?" He bellowed, shaking his head. "It's been, like, five minutes since this war ended and I swear... I swear to the Gods and Aisha and all that is good and holy and sacred, that YOU TWO are the most dogged and WILD little flowers that Aisha could have ever bestowed upon this world. What makes you two so angry? WE JUST WON A WAR! Chill out for the sake of my sanity, I freaking swear!"

He heaved a sigh and relaxed his shoulders, before adjusting his grip on the ever wiggling Samoset.

"Now, which one of you started this stupidity?" He said, a grimace quickly forming as both boys quickly pointed to each other. "Of for the love of-I DON'T-You two are completely and utterly impossible! I'm surprised that the town elders haven't come storming after you! I would've been smacked around if I acted like this when I was your age! You're so lucky that no one else bothered to break you up! I would've been so embarrassed!"

Back from from what was supposed to just be a walk, and turned into a battle against some witu and him hunting some seriffin, Rilind was heading toward where he was going to be meeting with Yaholo. After the war had ended, as well as the nap that Rilind wanted after it, he'd made the plans to meet up with Yaholo. He was supposed to be meeting with the man's sons after all. It was one of those meetings that seemed as though it was a long time coming and yet it was finally going to happen. It was probably part of why he'd gone on the walk in the first place, to put the meeting up just a little longer. He couldn't help but to fret over meeting them, more then certain that he'd be found lacking. It was part of why he'd wanted to bring back food as well, feeling that perhaps it might help win Yaholo and his sons over somehow.

As he headed into town, ignoring any looks he might be getting given his appearance, he moved to seek out Yaholo. He knew he wasn't looking his best, though he wasn't sure what his best was. He'd gotten scuffed up, bitten a couple times by the witu, scratched by the birds, and then there was the fact that he was carrying the two headless, field dressed birds along with him. All they needed now was to be plucked and they could get them cooking. He could only hope Yaholo would help with that tedious task he thought to himself.

Just as he was starting to think that he would never find him he heard Yaholo yelling at... someone. The raised voice caused Rilind to flinch a little but he forced himself forward. There was nothing to worry about as far as Yaholo went, he wasn't a mean or violent person, he was good to Rilind. He didn't have to worry, it would be alright, something he told himself over and over again as he moved toward the crowd that had gathered to watch... well, whatever it was Yaholo was up to. Moving through the crowd he looked around to figure out where he was and what was going on. Upon finally spotting him he went rather wide eyed, nearly dropping the birds he was carrying, as he found him man handling his kids and yelling at them about what would have happened if Yaholo acted that way when he was their age.

Rilind found himself suddenly torn on what he should do. There was part of him that felt he just wait until Yaholo was done, another part wanted to leave since the scene was bringing up bad memories, then a sliver of him wanted to stay put since he was supposed to meet them and wanted to share the birds with them. It was a difficult thing, battling with his own mind, but he forced himself to do so, wanting to try to stay where he was. No reason to retreat, this was Yaholo after all, not RIl's own father, and neither boy seemed as though they had come to any harm, they were just being scolded. It would be alright... and as such he'd just wait silently.

Yaholo continued to hold the boys apart from one another and wiggled about as Samoset tried to grab a hold of his brother's dreads. However, as he turned to do so, his vision caught a glimpse of Rilind, and his hold on the boys loosened. How long had he been standing there? He took a breath in and set Kennet down, while moving to sling the ever persistent Samoset over his shoulder.

"Boy, I will let you go when you stop trying to rip your brother's hair off, so help me Aisha." He grumbled, patting Samoset's back, before smiling towards Rilind. "Rilind! You're back! I'm so glad to see you!"

He gave a wince as Samoset flailed his arms at his back and flicked his ear with his free hand, before turning to Ril again.

"Oooh, you went hunting! Awesome!" He exclaimed, motioning to Kennet. "Help Rilind carry those back to the house for me, Kennet, we're going to have quite a meal with those tonight!"

Kennet landed on his feet and brushed himself off. Stupid Samoset, always causing him trouble. He gave his older brother a dirty look once his father was distracted and beamed when he was tasked to carry the birds Rilind had killed. Anything that had to do with food and the making of it was something he enjoyed doing, and he was eager to follow the command.

"Hi, Rilind, it's a pleasure to meet you!" He exclaimed, extending a hand out to shake Ril's. "My father's told me a lot about you, I'm happy you've decided to stay!"

Then, with a smirk, he pointed towards Samoset.

"That wiggling nimrod is my twin brother, Samoset." He muttered. "We're nothing alike, don't worry about it."

Samoset wiggled furiously against his father's hold and groaned when he was slung across the larger man's shoulder like a food sack. He proceeded to punch, weakly, at his father's backside, only to squeak in shock as his ear was flicked. Why was it always him who had to be held in such a demeaning position? Kennet was doing just as much taunting as he was! Stupid, stuuupid, Kennet!

"I HEARD THAT!" He cried, flailing. "Daaaaaaaaad! Put me down! I'll calm down after I land a hit on him, I swear! Don't you see that he's the one at fault here? NOT ME!"

Rilind could do little more then to stare at the lot of them and their antics finding it... well, strange. To have Yaholo 'fighting' with his children, but not really. It was something that was so very different from how Rilind and his own father had been, to the point where it seemed weird to him. Were fathers supposed to be like that? Were they supposed to be nice? Breaking up fights between their kids instead of being the one that dealing out the blows? Blinking a couple times when Yaholo addressed him he looked at the birds he was holding, then gave a slow nod of his head, "Ahhh... yeah." He'd gone hunting, yes. Not planned or anything, it had just sort of turned out that way, but at least it seemed that they were happy for it?

Turning to look at the boy called Kennet he found himself starring. He looked so much like Yaholo when Rilind had first met him once upon a time ago. He was far more skittish at that point then he was now, having run away from Yaholo every chance he got. It was one of those things he regretted given that he could have been with him before now and perhaps led a happier life. He could make up for it now though, right? He just had to try to get used to so much activity around him when he was far more used to hiding out on his own.

Finding himself starring at the hand that was outstretched toward him it too a moment before Ril took it, giving it a quick shake, "I... has he? That's... good I hope." He wondered what all he'd told them about him, hopefully not all of his various issues. He'd rather them not know all of that lest they think less of him, "It's good to meet you Kennet, you too Samoset." Though he wondered if the other boy heard him since he was still yelling about wanting to hit his brother. Not something that sat well with him, but he kept it to himself, instead falling quiet again as he handed the birds off to Kennet. Once that was done he lifted a hand to rub it against his aching shoulder. Healed or not it still bothered him, making him wonder if this was something he'd have to deal with the rest of his life. He'd guess that it was rather likely given the severity of the wound, a bit of a bother but a sacrifice that was worth what it had earned him in the end.

Yaholo continued to give Samoset stern side glances while Kennet spoke to Rilind and kept to his word about letting him go once he stopped wiggling. Thus, he kept the boy tucked upon his shoulder while he bent down to carry the remaining bird upon his other shoulder, much to his son's dismay. He didn't understand why Samoset was so disagreeable and violent towards his twin, and he was no less than ashamed that Rilind had witnessed him being rough with them. However, because they refused to get along and he'd already tried everything else, Yaholo was lacking with options. How was he supposed to discipline them when they only listened to him when he screamed for them to stop?

"I'll handle this one, Kenny can handle the other one." He said, leaning down to kiss Rilind on the forehead. "I'm really sorry that you had to see them fighting like that, it's not uncommon, sadly."
PostPosted: Thu Dec 04, 2014 5:18 pm

Kennet happily hoisted the bird onto his shoulders while Rilind spoke and gave him a smile. He seemed to be just as dad described, a little nervous, handsome, and interesting, so he felt no reason to be wary or suspicious of him. He watched his father give Rilind a kiss and chuckled.

"Awww, too cute!" He laughed, before his expression faltered. "It's not my fault that Samoset's such a thorn in my side. Always whining about something or telling me that I'm doing something wrong. I swear, prentices these days don't know their place, do they?"

As his father bent down to pick up the remaining bird, Samoset felt himself slipping a little, only to be caught by his father's hand as he tried to wiggle away again. Ugh! How was his father THIS strong? He only hoped his muscles could reach the amount of strength his father had, then maybe he could put up a little more of a fight against him.

"Yeah, it's nice to meet you, NOW CAN I GET DOWN?" He cried, glaring down at Kennet. "I'll show you who needs to know their place, you big ignoramus!"
PostPosted: Thu Dec 04, 2014 5:50 pm

Rilind looked between the two boys, then over to Yaholo, about to open his mouth to say something to him when he instead got a kiss on the forehead. It was something that silenced him completely before he gave a slight sigh. So they were going to carry both of the birds? He'd been alright to carry them... but then again he supposed that it might be because he killed them? That or perhaps Yaholo could tell that his shoulder was bothering him? He was the sort to help out if he knew someone needed it so it could easily be that.

As the two started to sort of argue once more he found himself wanting nothing more then to step in closer to Rilind, to stand closer to his side, and hope that the arguing would pass. He wouldn't say that either though, instead just waiting to see what the lot of them would do next. If nothing else at least Samoset seemed to hear him despite being slung over his father's shoulder in the manner that he was? A bonus for certain.

"I... ahh... instead of fighting can we see about making dinner?" He asked of the trio in a hushed, though hopeful, tone of voice.

Yaholo, indeed sensing Rilind's discomfort, moved closer to Rilind's side and nudged him gently on the arm. It was meant as a reassuring gesture, nothing more, which he hoped Rilind would understand. These fights were commonplace between the twins, and while they could last for an hour or more, they always had an end, or at the very least a break in between where you could sit and catch your sanity. The Brute made a face at Kennet, as if telepathically telling him to drop the subject, and bent down to let Samoset go. He held Samoset back as he stood up again and gave him the same look, before switching the bird he was carrying to the arm that Samoset had been on. Then, with one final glance to the twins, he reached out to hold Rilind's hand.

"Yes, let's go make dinner. I think that's something we can all agree on, right boys?" He said, offering Rilind a cheerful smile. "Why not check and see if Grandpa will let us use the fire pit in the back? I'm not sure if he's drying anything at the moment or not..."
PostPosted: Thu Dec 04, 2014 6:13 pm

Kennet sighed and nodded as his father gave him a stare and adjusted his hold on the bird, before grinning at what his father suggested.

"Grandpa has his own fire pit?" He asked, his mouth gaping wide. "Like, one with coal and stuff? I didn't know that! Smoked stuff is the best!"

Samoset huffed as he was "released" and nodded, without heart, to his father's stare. Yeah, he'd stop arguing, just as long as Kennet stopped being stupid. He made his way over to his brother slowly and eyed him, almost speculatively, before scoffing at his exclamation.

"Oh, please, we could get the same exact thing at home!" He shouted, folding his arms. "I say we skin the birds and grill them instead! That's how food is meant to be eaten anyway."

He gave a rather cocky look towards Kennet as he finished speaking, which earned him an equally cocky look in return. He loved just how easily annoyed Kennet could be, it was almost too easy.
