Laws
Non-Lion Laws: Non-lions are generally not allowed within the pride with very few exceptions. The Monarch is involved in integrating non-lions within the pride should they be allowed wthin. All non-lions must have a sponsor that is a lion, no exceptions.
Murder, Assault/Battery and Self-Defense Laws: Hostility among members occasionally occur and sometimes it can end in violence. Any violent act between members of the pride, including any physical harm is marked under this law. All cases and accusations must be tried as a Criminal trial, with very few exceptions.
Trials
Criminal Trial: Crimes committed within the pride are brought before the Monarch and a Law-speaker with a jury of peers.
Civil Trial: Disputes between two members are usually solved among themselves, but sometimes a third party must get involved. In this case a Law-speaker will mediate and decide the outcome of the dispute. This can be anything from dispute over a hunting kill or fairness of a trade.
Punishment
Non-Lion Laws: Should a non-lion enter the pride without knowledge of the Monarch and express permission, the non-lion and whomever they came in for may be banished from the pride. This includes flings that result in hybrids when there is no non-lion present in that particular harem.
Murder, Assault/Battery and Self-Defense Laws: Murder is a serious crime that results in serious punishment. The member may either be banished, killed, or will become a prisoner, depending on the Lawspeaker doling out the punishment. If a death results from self-defense, the member must go to a Constable or Lawspeaker immediately and tell them of the deed or it will be tried as a murder. Attacking a fellow member may result in a stripped rank and marked as a prisoner until they can redeem themselves (harem leaders that commit attack another member outside of self defense or defense of their harem will be stripped of their rank and not allowed to re-obtain it unless under special circumstances)
====Prisoner Information:
Prisoners who were the head of a Harem has their harem placed under the control of the Monarch until their a new leader of their harem can be decide (a new surname is often provided unless the harem decides against it). If a prisoner rises above this status, they may re-try for their rank and status, though their still be some stigma over it. They will forever be watched closely and may need to be watched closely over and will have -tias tacked onto their surname so those who are joining know they have committed a crime. Those who have held the rank prisoner may never lead a harem again.
