The Witu's charge seemed to come up a little short, their hackles raised, teeth barred, and they snarled at him as they realized that Rilind wasn't going to run away. Instead he was standing his ground with weapons drawn, prepared to fight with the beasts that were trying to make a meal of him. That caused their tactics to change from charging to something else. The two of them seemed to exchange looks then moved, splitting up so that they could circle around Rilind. The two of them, working together, were looking for any openings that might be presented to them by the red haired swordsman. As though testing him the pair of Witu would, from time to time, lunge forward, jaws snapping, hoping that they would catch the man off guard and take him down.

It was something that left him feeling cold all over, the fact that the things were so eager for his blood. It made sense though, unlike other things he'd fought in the past like the Dretch or even his own father, these things were hunting him for food, not just because they didn't like him. It was at least something he could respect... not as though that meant he'd let them make a snack out of him. No, he'd fight them off if at all possible, it was just nice for once not to end up in a fight because someone decided that they hated him. This fight was instead just due to the natural instincts of the Witu, it was a nice change of pace... not that he'd share such a morbid thought with anyone else. Best that he kept thoughts like that to himself so as not to get any strange looks from those that he spent most of his time with.

As one of the two Witu charged again, jaws snapping, Rilind nearly failed to dodge due to the speed of the creature. He was able to feel its teeth scrap against his leg and instantly he reacted by slashing forward with one of his swords. The blade sank deep into the back of the creature's neck, severing it's spinal cord, and it went down with a single yelp. The second Witu gave a snarl and came charging at him, quite enraged by the death of its ally, and it took everything that Rilind had to hold it at bay, slashing forward with both of his swords. It was a tense battle, one that could have gone either way, but one that he was able to come out of on top if only before one of his attacks hit just right, the blade going up through the Witu's bottom jaw and into its brain.

It was a hard fought battle, one that he was relieved to have won, but he didn't come out of it completely unscathed. No, looking down at himself he realized that he had a few bite marks here and there... something that Yaholo was sure to scold him about. He could only hope the other man would understand, it wasn't as though he'd come out here with the expressed purpose in mind of getting hurt after all. He'd probably still scold him, even if he knew that Rilind was just wanting to take a walk, if only because he'd gone walking alone. Sighing a bit he started back toward where the others were once more. Best that he got back soon, he didn't much feel like walking anymore.
