Once again Toshi found himself doing another mission by himself, just so that he can make a little extra jewel to get him by. He wasn't going to be picky about the mission either, funds were low, so low that he would find himself living out in the forest again. This mission in particular caused his skin to crawl, he did not care for many rodents. Maybe a few could pass for cute in his book, but not mice that infest homes. Toshi was walking towards the client's house, with a paper at hand. It informed him of the important details such as the address and what the job was, and more importantly, to Toshi, the amount of jewel. It wasn't that Toshi was greedy, he wasn't the type that needed great riches, but he did need enough jewel to last a while. Since Toshi was dealing with vermin he came overly prepared, he could be a little too cautious of germs from time to time. People would stare at him as he walked on by, towards the clientele's house. It didn't seem to bother him much though, all he was fixated on was his job. "Get rid of" the mice, his mindset was focused on that one single goal. In order to get to the top of the hill you had to climb it, and Toshi was one of those people that truly got that idea. Hardwork and patience would take him places in the long run. Nearing the client's house, a boy holding his mother's hand, pointed and laughed at Toshi as the two crossed paths on the sidewalk. His mother quickly scolded him afterwards for doing so, but she seemed to join in the laughter as they got farther and farther away, Toshi could hear her burst out in laughter. Toshi really did look ridiculous in the getup he had been wearing, but the mere thought of dealing with mice scared him.

Toshi arrived at a door. He looked at the number stuck to the wooden door, then back to the paper that had the address on it. This is the place where the couple should live. Toshi knocked on the door three times then awaited a response. A man opened the door and immediately greeted Toshi with a wide grin. He tried not to laugh at how ridiculous he looked. Not this again... Toshi had on these big gloves with rubber boots and a bandana wrapped around his face and head. His mouth and nose were concealed. "I'm here about your mice problem." The man tried his best to hold in his laughing, but was very near a breaking point. Both Toshi and the older man entered the kitchen. The older man's wife was also there, they were expecting Toshi unexpectedly. Once they were all seated the couple went into greater detail on the mice. These things were supposedly hiding in different rooms spread out around the house, which was fairly large in size. The nice couple informed them of where Toshi would find their nests. He was told that they lived in the walls and entered through holes in the wall that were usually covered by something to keep their existence hidden. With all of that said and nothing else to really go by, the geared up mage would begin to tackle the job of dealing with these mice.

Finally, Toshi would put his plan in motion. His protective clothes weren't the only thing he brought with him, in his pockets he had simple and easy to use mice traps. They were these sticky traps that would surely catch any rodent that crawled over them. The mage also added a little cheese to get them to come out of their hiding spots. He spread these around the house and put them in each room where a hole in the wall was found. As long as he laid these traps down and waited patiently, there would be no need for using magic. It'd also be a pretty risky move in a large house such as this. When he was finished setting up all the sticky traps he waited in the kitchen for awhile, the clients left to go get some groceries. Toshi assured them that all mice would be dealt with before they got back, and he was determined to make it so. Still, there was only so much he could do with his magic. It wasn't fit for situations like this at all, Toshi was informed that it was used to assassinate people. With that in mind he didn't even think of using a spell that could wreck the place, not that he was that good anyways. There was still a lot for him to learn and he knew that. His thought was interrupted by a noise he assumed was coming from one of the ten mice. On a mental note he checked one rodent off the list of ten and continued to wait until more noises could be heard. The mice foolishly ran into the sticky traps one by one while Toshi silently thought to himself. Finally, after an hour or so he checked each and every trap he set up. It wasn't much of a surprise, he also added food just to give more incentive, cheese, it was funny how much it worked. One by one he took a mouse outside of the house and released them from their traps far away from any other houses. Even if they were cover in germs they were still animals, and they were beginning to look cuter and cuter as time went on. Once he released the final mouse he went back to his client's house and awaited their return so he could claim his reward and leave.

Bavid Mavrick

Str:30 II Def: 21 II End: 14 II Spd: 60 II MP: 21

taking a long route around town, Bavid avoided contact with people as he had at least came from a dark guild and did not want to have to deal with any hunters out to get Raven Tail. He decided it best to get the owners approval for the mission and eventually went to their front door. When they opened the door, they had a slight freak out and tried to scare him away by throwing half of their living room at him. After catching the debris and staying outside, he eventually convinced them that he was a mage there for the mission they posted.
"Who better to send to deal with rodents than a snake?"
"What do you intend to do to get rid of the problem then?"
"Why eat them of course, I get payed, fed and you get a nice clean house that is rodent free"
While the husband had stomach that could handle the comment, even though his face turned green, his wife... not so much. After she returned from the bathroom, Bavid offered a hand in rearranging the furniture along with a request not to charge him for the damages that he did not cause. The wife had went out to town as the collaboration of all the creepy crawlies that was what Bavid was made of ran her off and With a slight apology for existing, He helped put things back in the house and bid him farewell so that he could listen to the house to find the problematic rodents.

Bavid first proceeded to seal up any and all holes that he could find and went all around the house being sure to be loud as possible. He was being sure to run anything he could find down into the crawlspaces bellow the house as he used his own scent and mass to drive them bellow. When he was fairly sure that there was hardly any way for them to escape back into the top and the place properly scented to keep them from wanting to escape into the upper floors, Bavid went into the foundation crawlspace. He wedged himself into the gap to plug the hole in case any of them tried to escape that way at first. One of which did ended up skewered on the carapace of one of his legs and then was plucked like a grape and devoured. "Corn fed and soft and squishy, the couple must be clean freaks. The mice are so well fed that they are lazy and tender, almost like cattle." He said with a slight laugh that would have sounded winded because of how tightly he was clinching to the ground. Continuing on, he found a nest of them. The nest was made of plant stems, burlap swatches ripped from bags of corn and insulation ripped from the walls so that they could get in and out of the house. He extended his hands and started striking at everything that moved and collected at least seven of the mice. One had escaped on one side and had been sliced in half with his stinger and another three had ran away together. Shoving the others in his mouth and making a quick run through the tiny gaps in the near total darkness, he eventually caught them, one of which had tried to escape into the house and caused Bavid to become wedged in between the two walls.
"Why did they need the walls to be separate of each other?" He asked himself as he wiggled and writhed till he finally backed out of the hole that was made to fit a closet into the gap on one side and a fireplace on the other. He then returned to the nest to hear a slight squeaking noise. He was dismantling the nest when he found a whole handful of mice pups. "OHH TIDBITS!!" He said in excitement as he collected them in one hand and ripped the rest of the nest out and then returned to the outside with a tiny bit of squirming and readjusting himself till he finally gave up and ate the mouse pups before leaving the hole.

Upon completing the job, He went back through the house and found all the mouse holes that were clogged and began to put things back where he found them. It was more of an effort to find all of the little holes the second time around because there was both that the sound of the mice could no longer be heard and that most of the holes were hard to notice since they were clogged. He waited in the side yard for them to return afterwards. When they came back as a group, they were almost ok with it but the woman decided that she wanted to be inside and away from him rather than chat. After getting payed, Bavid had a suggestion that not only did the husband not like, the woman stuck her head out to yell a hell no. He had suggested getting a snake to keep the mice down as just its presence would make them unwilling to come close. "It was just a suggestion so that you would not need to hire another mage, you could get a cat but they are much lazier than a reptile." He said with a sigh as he bagged the cash and took it back to his place of stashing within a group of highly irritating plants to most creatures, both toxic and barbed and then decided he might go back to the guild since he was rather full on tiny little mice and would be going to find a place to rest. The meal would not last him long but it would service till he found a bigger meal.
