xxxZipporah gasped, chest heaving roughly. She looked around. Trees. Beautiful. Orange, red, yellow, brown. Dying. Cold. Season. Words rolled through her head, and she tried without success to grab the right one. Her head and eyes ached. The colors were so bright. So bright. Nature. Trees. Autumn. Autumn! Autumn. She grasped it and held tight. Something pounded in her head. Pain. Ouch. Body. Physical body. Hurt. She whimpered aloud, holding her head tightly. She wasn't used to having a physical body at all. There was a tree behind her. She used it to stand get onto her feet. Her legs wobbled slightly. She grasped a low-hanging branch, locks of red-orange hair falling in her eyes. She reached with one hand and ran it through the thick tresses. So soft. Her eyes widened. The sensation of touch bewildered her.
xxxAs her headache began to subside, and words began to flow effortlessly, she smelt things. The wind ruffled her hair, sweeping against her creamy skin. Zipporah smiled, giving a soft sigh. Earth was just like she remembered it- or so the young goddess thought. She began to walk. Her feet were bare, and the grass was soft and prickly under the pads of her feet. She laughed, then stopped. Then she laughed again. She loved the sound. The red-head also listened carefully to the sound of the wind as it rustled the leaves in the trees. They fell, crunching under her feet. She ran forward, feeling as free as could be. That is, until her feet hit something hard. And cold. She stopped dead and looked down, frowning at the ugly gray road under foot.
xxxZipporah looked up, appalled. So the stories were true. The world had become different, grotesque. Made of gray rock and little more. She looked above her head, at the sign that read p-a-r-k. Park. Closing her eyes, the goddess did her best to absorb all the knowledge of the current world as she could. It came rushing it, harsh and fast. It hit her like a ton of- of bricks. She opened her pupil-less green eyes, blinking fast and hard. She understood how and what, but not why. The laughter of people assaulted her ears, and she turned to look at where the noise came from. A school was letting out. An apartment complex was nearby. A mall. People walked by her, giving the stunned girl odd looks. Old, young, short, fat, tall, thin. People of all color, shape and size. She stepped backwards, bare feet suddenly uncomfortable on the hard surface. And she quickly disappeared back into the park, breathing heavily.
