It was a nice day out. Even the shadows of Nightmare valley didn't seem to frighten her today. She looked around the area making sure there was no one around before singing a sweet tune. Normally she would love to sing about her past family life. Once she was finished cleaning herself off she squeezed the water out of her mane. "There. Fresh as new." She lightly smiled, although she had been quite lonely since others of her kind were gone. "I wonder if the green dragon clan still exists."
She walked quite a ways before coming across a berry bush. "Ah! These should do nicely today for some food." She went to pick some, not sure if there was anyone in the area, but she didn't seem to fear much. If needed to she could create spells that would trap enemies in their place so she could get away safe.

Boggart fell out of the berry bush. "Uh, uh, excuse me," he said. He had a bag full of berries. He had thought of making them into a cake. If he could hide it from his brother, he would have brought it to his sister and her mate. cammeo wouldn't have eaten much of it, but Liarois would have loved it.
Everyone liked cake. Except Boggart. he just liked making them.

Kaida turned her head when she heard another pony call out. "Oh, I'm so sorry. I didn't see you there. You really blend in well with all the green." She lightly chuckled, but stopped herself incase this pony was sensitive. She did not wish to hurt someone else's feelings so easily, especially one she just met. "I'm Kaida. Nice to meet you. Do you need help with anything?" She cocked her head to the side trying to figure out if she had seen this pony before, but nothing rang a bell or at least nothing she could remember.

"Uh, no, nothing you can help me with," said Boggart, stumbling over himself to gain his feet. "I was picking berries for cake..." He didn't mention that when he heard a stranger coming closer, he's hidden in the bush until he lost his balance and fell out.
"I don't need them, though," he muttered, glancing up at her face every few words, but otherwise looking at the ground. "If you're hungry, you can have them." He opened his bag, a small sack half filled with ripe berries.
"Nice- nice to meet you," Boggart stuttered. "I'm Boggart."

"Well it's nice to meet you Boggart." Kaida looked down at the berries he offered her. "Well I am a bit hungry, but if you're going to make a cake out of them I would hate to be the one who takes your berries." She then looked back up. "I know this might sound strange, but how do you bake? Truthfully I never heard of baking or cooking. I've mainly just survived on edible plants."

"Bah uh," Boggart blushed and tried to order his thoughts. "To bake you... you get your flour, your eggs, your milk and whatever you're using to flavour it. And you mix it and put it in a tin in the oven. When it smells good, you take it out and ice it with sugar and cream cheese. And then I feed it to my brother, or he steals it and eats it all."

Kaida was a bit surprised with the fact that he never got any. "Oh! I see." She tried to think out the idea of how to bake. Perhaps she could try it out one day, but until then she would have to find the right ingredients. "I could try baking with my magic I guess since I don't own a stove or anything of the sorts, although I can't imagine it turning out any better than the way you describe how to bake." She ran a hoof through her mane trying to think. "So does your talent revolve around baking?"

"No, I grow things," Boggart said, smiling. "If you wanted to learn to bake... things..." his voice trailed away with his shyness... "You could use my oven. At my place. That sounded like a bad line.."

"Ah! So you can grow anything I take it or are you limited to certain things?" Kaida was fairly interested in getting to know this pony more. It had been quite some time since she had a nice conversation with someone else and most of the time she was lonely. "Oh actually that sounds fine if you don't mind me barging in. You really wouldn't mind?"

"No, I don't mind, please, come," said Boggart gesturing weakly with his foreleg. As they walked, he continued to say, "I mostly grow plants and growing things... but I never thought, I suppose I could grow... tumours or something. Maybe I can grow children. Probably not."

Kaida lightly smiled and nodded her head. "Alright. Thank you then." She followed after him while listening. "Growing tumors or children? That would definitely be interesting. I've never heard of that. Although I have heard of mages giving others diseases. I'm not sure if that would qualify as tumors though."

Boggart's eyes widened as they walked and Kaida spoke. "Mages making people sick on purpose? What is the world coming to? No, I'm better off with my garden. But I suppose if a child came to me and wanted to get bigger, I might be able to help... I couldn't grow one from the ground like a cabbage patch kid. That would be strange... and I don't think it would look right..."

Kaida nodded her head again. "Yeah it's normally black mages that do that. I don't. Only thing I can do at best is defense spells and healing." She cocked her head to the side to think. "Although I guess sometimes good offense is a good defense." Kaida paused for a moment to laugh at the idea of a kid growing out of the ground. "Actually that would be pretty funny, but yes I understand how that is." As they continued walking she turned her head towards him. "If you don't mind me asking...what's your family like?"

"Ah, well my mum, her name's Famine and that's where I get my looks. She's really thin. It was because of that that my dad, Heketoro, started to cook. He cooked so much he even started this odd restaurant thing out of our cottage. It's now this big pavilion.
"My brother, Nashi, spends a lot of time there, he is so hungry all the time, he would eat and eat. He's the looker of the family. And there's my sister, Cammeo, she's... really macabre. And odd.
"Defensive spells?" he asked, interested. "I think that's great, it would be wonderful to do magic to help someone. And healing too, that's my dad's talent, but I hope it works differently to yours. He has to absorb the pain and injury of the person he heals so he's had about fifteen broken legs and stuff."

Kaida thought for a bit. "I see. Well as long as your healthy it shouldn't matter what you look like." She shrugged. "Then again some ponies I guess just like to cook for the fun of it too and just to make others happy."
"I guess it's a good thing your family and you love to cook so your brother can eat." She paused for a moment. "Although I would worry sometimes if just eating was healthy or not." She paused. "Then again if he's happy the way he is then who am I to judge?" Kaida continued to listen as he mentioned his sister. "Hmm...interesting."
Kaida nodded her head at the mention of spells. "Yeah I only use them when being attacked. I'm not strong enough to physically damage someone, which might be why my family..." She trailed off for a sec thinking about them and how they were all slaughtered by another clan. She then snapped back to reality. "Well anyways, I don't take the pain, but on rare occasions I might have to offer up my blood to make certain spells work." She cocked her head to the side. "That has got to suck though to take in all that pain. He eventually heals though I take it?"
