Emily didn't know why she agreed to help Matt by picking his friend up. She had plotting to do and people to conspire against, from self defense to hooking her Daddy up wi-- anyhow, she had important work and the brunette frowned as she walked into the bookshop, making a face a bit. Normally a nerd to the core, but thjis shop was... Less than her favorite, and she stuck her tongue out, shrugging and looking around idly. Kaida was supposed to be obvious, so where was she?

Kaida was, as the lover of books and fantasy she tended to be, sitting on the floor of the bookstore by the teen novels, a fantasy book in her hands and her eyes glued to the pages as she determined if that particular one was one she'd reread and thus buy. She decided, after a moment, that yes it was, and she stood, closing it and adding it to a stack she picked up to take to the counter, humming one of her current favorite songs.
As the clerk was ringing things up, she blinked at an unfamiliar face in the shop. Odd. Not often people came in looking grouchy.
"Twenty thirty-nine, Kaida."
"Oh! Yeah, sorry Donnie." She dug her debit card out, attention pulled from the stranger.

Emily was beginning to consider flipping Matt off for sending her and grabbing a book in the non-fiction section when she noticed the cashier use the exact name she was seeking, and with a mental swear at the loss of a new book for her next at-home experiment into the unknown, she stuck her hands in her jacket pockets and made her way over. "Kaida Courcel, right? I'm Emily Wily." No middle name for her - her aunt wasn't in. "Matt Eichmann sent me to pick you up. Dumbass fell behind on homework, again. Hi."

Kaida blinked when she was called, and stared at the girl a moment before smiling apologetically.
"I'm so, so sorry about him. He's a little bit of an idiot at times. Hard to believe he's brilliant, isn't it?" She took the bag handed to her by the clerk after she'd paid, then rubbed the back of her neck. "It's nice to meet you, Miss Wiley. Sorry it wasn't under nicer circumstances."

"Not your fault." Emily grinned, chuckling a bit. Oh, good, this girl understood. "I have some classes with him and a friend of ours named Hiroyuki. Guess who the guy who jokes around is." Emily rolled her eyes. "I swear, Hiro and I have had to threaten fingers and food. So what were you doing next then?" Emily rubbed her neck. "I didn't get those directions. His project made an uncomforting noise."

"Hiro's the third part of our trio. The brains to my sweetness and Matt's derm." She giggled. "I was planning on heading home after this. But if his project is making strange noises, then that's likely not a safe option. You have any ideas?" If the other was her ride, best to not put her out.

Emily had to think several moments before shrugging, blinking. "Could come to my place to hide. I have enough cousins I'm not sure Uncle Tom or Aunt Emily and Dad will notice another face." she admitted. "Aunt Emily and Uncle Tom reproduce like rabbits."

Kaida groaned. "That sounds like my cousin Qasim's parents. Poor guy is surrounded by siblings, and they make a good chunk of the people present whenever my family in the area gets together." She rubbed a temple, remembering the last time poor Qasim had used her apartment to hide from his sisters and parents. "Do you play video games? Or watch anime?"

"Aside Dad's cousins, I live with most of the herd. Dad's single. Never been married." Emily gagged a bit. "Even if he NEEDS married. I keep telling him he does anyhow. My twin brother and I are - flukes really. Mother by birth didn't want to raise tiny little anklebiters, soooo... Fausted on Dad. He's cool though, if you like dorky noodle men in cat sweaters, and Uncle Tom tried to kill him of embarressment, recently, so he'll leave us alone." At Kaida's question a grin lit Emily's face and she cackled in a most un-ladylike way. "Do I? Is my new RiG configured to devour any and all games and their souls?" A pause. "The answer is yes. Do you like Marvel?" THIS part was critical. Mostly for nicjnames.

"I...used to live with my parents and siblings. Now I live with Matt and Hiroyuki." She chuckled. "It's wonderful not having the house be so hectic." She perked when Wren's answer about video games and the like was 'yes'. MATT'S FRIEND UNDERSTOOD!
"Yes, yes I do. Black Widow is amazing and badass in the MCU stuff right now." At least they could chatter on the way to wherever!

"If you say so Narasha." Wren grinned. "I prefer Loki." She shook her head, sighing. "Our house is... Insane." Wren laughed. "So movies and gaming it is, then?"

Wait. Natasha? Kaida blinked, then couldn't help but laugh. "I'm flattered you think I'm like Nat, but wouldn't that bode ill if you're Loki?" She gave the younger girl a grin that said she was oh-so-familiar with a particular movie.
"And movies and games sound good to me. And Emily? As long as there's love, I think insanity is fine. Well...in small doses. I don't think Yuki and Matt would mind if you hid at our place now and again. And if they haven't offered our place yet, for shame on them!"

"Nah. I talk to a Magneto and a couple do-gooders in chat. I think I'm fine." Emily giggled, ruffling Kaida's hair gently as she did. "Matt and Yuki haven't offered a thing? But Matt and Yuki might not want to risk it considering I introduced them to my dog Rocky and Rocky didn't let them speak without puppy kisses." Emily snickered, thinking of her Goberian pouncing the pair. SO Unlike his half-brother down the road.

"I hope so! Because it would be a real shame to have to remind you gods are fallible too." She smoothed her hair after it was ruffled, then rolled her eyes.
"Of course they haven't. Well, I am now extending the invite. And I'll chew them out later." Boys. She couldn't live without her friends, but damn were they derm sometimes. "Sounds like a good dog. I don't have one right now, but I plan on getting one once I'm done with college." She wanted to wait until she knew she'd have the time a dog demanded. College? Definitely was not that time.

"I'd like that." Emily grinned, brightening once they got there as she looked to the yards, beaming at the large goberian puppy practically trying to jump his fence at the sight of his owner. "I'm honestly thinking of adopting a rescue to keep Rocky company. I mean, I love animals, and I'm also thinking of a ferret, but Rocky needs company." She smiled, as the dog cleared the fence, rushing over and jumping on Emily and licking at her fingers before sniffing Kaida's hand. Deciding he liked her scent immediately, he barked once, licking at her as well. LOVES?
