SO what now? Personally I'm taking the death of ZOMG as a wake up call. I have been devising an MMO of my own for a while now, i have made several experimental programs trying to find solutions to certain problems in design and function of teh game, but i am just me. i can code and i can brainstorm and i have started learning Unity3D, an EPIC games development platform for making games in many different platforms. I NEED to make this game, and i want YOUR help.

i came to gaia two years ago, initially on a mission to research other MMOS, to find out what works with the players and what doesnt, so that i could take that into my own game. but now i realise how big an undertaking this is, and i need help.

over the course of the next however long i will be needing a tonne of character design, art, graphics, ideas/brainstorming, code/development and god knows what else. this needs doing. wee need this game, and it will be OUR game, not just mine.

so the basic concept:

its a pokemon style rpgMMO, where you catch monsters ona variety of ways and train them to do battle with other monsters and bad guys. BUT WAIT!!! the player character (you) will have extreme gaia and habbo style avatar customisation options, AND will be advancable in levels and able to learn skills and abilities in ordr to play the realtime combat game aspect.

YEP REALTIME COMBAT, LIKE ZOMG.

and thats not all i have planned.
fighting your trained monsters will be different than pokemon, and more like final fantasy, not only will they have inherent species related moves and abilities, but they will be able to use equipment like weapons or amulets or armour etc. even cybernetics :O and train their stats more specifically like D&D giving you more control of how your creature levels up.

THIS IS ONLY THE BEGINNING. there is also dimension travel in parallel worlds once the "main game" is completed, and user created content YES THATS RIGHT USER CREATED CONTENT. there will be the option to spend your game points on real estate and furiture and other things. build your own game areas where you can fight monsters, have guild wars, or just show off your swag or chill.

AND MUCH MUCH MORE THAN I CAN WRITE:LOL.

but seriously, i need you guys to help me in any way you can, and id like this post to kick of some brainstorming.

so then if you want to get involved you can post here. what would you like to see in a game like this? what would you hate? what would you love?

or, remembering the games style is more mature than pokemon, but i'd also like it if artists and character designers would be able to help me fill in the design for around 600 different monsters, some with evolutions some without. maximum of 5 different physical stages. please let your imagination run riot <3

and last but not least, if you have a talent for designing cool outfits and such, either 2d or 3d, we'll be needing tonnes of this stuff for the character customisation options <3 again plz go nuts
