Name - - Juniper Bronwen Bee
Alias - - Junie, Junebug, Junibee (all by her parents)
                      Age - - 10
                      Gender - - female
                      Scrying - - scrying
Aura - - orchid purple, low frequency, pink secondary color

Appearance - - Bee-witching (omg i'm sorry never again). Juniper has lovely and very smooth green skin, which she considers her best feature. Cheerful, almond-shaped red eyes with naturally dark and thick lashes, and short, dark brown hair she thinks has a mind of its own. Perpetually fluffy, she tries to tame her hair with a giant red bow. She is slight like a ballerina although she eats like a black hole, and her hands and feet are teeny and delicate. She has a lopsided, charming smile and a heart-shaped face with dimples. Her appearance is striking and, despite the spooky air she tries to assume, undeniably cute.

Juniper loves to dress in anything dark and witchy, owing to her long-standing witching self-image. Her wardrobe is predominately black or gray, although navy, claret/crimson, and purple make some appearances. Ever since watching The Wizard of Oz the first go-around, she loves striped socks paired with red shoes. In the winter, she'll often switch her socks with a woolen variety and change the colors to suit her mood (black and orange, scarlet and gold, silver and green, you know the drill). Inclement weather brings out her extremely shiny red rain boots (of which she is immensely proud) and a massive scarf that she tries not to let drag behind her (and often fails).

Juniper is always in dresses. She loathes pants and will tug sadly at them when she has to wear them.

Do not assume, however, that because she dresses so darkly that her clothes are drab! Juniper dresses with (an innocent sort of) flair, and is always cuter than she is spoopy.

Personality - - Juniper is innocent and imaginative. She is kind and somewhat gullible, but her optimism allows her to see the best in every situation around her. Oftentimes she is oblivious to conflict, but when she realizes friction exists, she wilts like a flower without water and frets, trying knee-jerk solution after solution until the situation is somehow solved. (Example: Juniper is cooking in the kitchen. Her pan catches fire. She continuously smiles until it dawns on her that flames should not be licking the vent hood. Then she frets, red-faced, throws the spoon at the fire, then the box of pasta, then all the water from the tea kettle, then finally slaps the pan lid atop it. She laughs nervously and investigates what went wrong. Then, a few seconds later, she cheerily restarts the recipe.)

She loves to read, to watch plenty of movies, and to explore nature. She enjoys experimenting new things and longs to have a friend or two (not TOO many, or she gets shy) to share the experience with. She is earnest and eager when meeting new people in one-on-one settings but finds herself tongue-tied in parties. Also, she loves stupid jokes and puns and silly visual humor. (The sign reading WET FLOOP nearly killed her with laughter.)

Deep down in there, Juniper has a slight mischievous streak that is in conflict with her natural sweetness. What ends up happening on odd occasions is that Juniper (citing her being a witch) will attempt to hex or prank a child/person who has teased or frustrated her in a way that her normal (if immature) way of conflict-solving did not help or appease. However, If she succeeds in vexing or upsetting them, she then feels horrifically guilty and will go out of her way to make them feel better. She is unsuited to any true cruelty, although when she puts her mind to pranking, she's capable of thinking up some truly strange ones.

History - - Juniper is what's known as a caboose. Her parents had one child early in their marriage and then decided that one was plenty. Only, well, they got a little less vigilant with family planning as time went on, and when her parents were 39 and her brother 17, Juniper came along.

With her mother having spent the past 15 or so years building her career, her father the same, and her brother gearing up to head to college, Juniper was a daycare and nanny-reared baby. Her parents, citing their respective careers and age, had less time and energy to play with her than they had her brother, and so showed their love by buying Juniper dolls, movies, books, play houses, and any other method of amusing her that wasn't actual parent-child playtime.

Juniper's nanny, however, was sweet and patient, and Juniper herself was of a mild enough disposition to embrace her situation without much complaint. What DID occur, however, was hours of quiet, imagination-based playtime. Juniper's temperament made her feel quite sorry for even the villains in her storybooks, and began to enjoy spooky and engaging stories more than rose-colored fairytales. Juniper made a few friends at daycare, kindergarten, and school, and was happy to spend her time with them.

However, soon enough, in the long, solitary playtimes that made up most of Juniper's home life, strange things started to happen, things that Juniper could only explain in one way...

            Quote:
In the beginning, Juniper just noticed that when she would sit very calmly with her dolls, she would hear things. Little things, at first. Shifting sands. Rain pouring on sunny days. Then she got older, and the sounds became pictures. At first, she would just see things, vague like eyesight underwater and then crystal clear like a water in a glass. The shifting sands could become the sight of an outstretched desert. The rain would become a misty bog. She felt that she was there, that she could see them all clearly –

But she was at home. On her butt. With her dolls.

Her mom said she played alone too much. Her imagination was too big and too powerful. She sat her down in front of the telly instead.

            -- Yer a wizard, Harry!

The visions and sounds kept coming, but Juniper began to understand. She could see things because her big imagination was like the tea dregs from Divination class. Or the crystal ball the witch had in The Wizard of Oz. Just she had one in her head.

It made sense. She was already green, after all. And there were clearly tons of other kids in the movies that had similar experiences.

Juniper started wearing striped socks. She practiced her cackle. She asked the kids in her class about the right ways to read tea. If anyone knew if pewter was a good material for a cauldron.

She got invited to less birthday parties that year.

Her mom said she watched too many movies. She started taking her to the library, instead.

-- Double, double, toil and trouble…

Juniper knew she wasn’t alone. Books proved that. She started to enjoy the visions and sounds. And the more she relaxed and enjoyed them, the more came. These things happened in books all the time, and it was never bad! Plenty of kids went through this. Only they went to schools to learn how to control it. Wizarding schools. Magic schools. Hero schools. It was tough going through all the stuff in the real world by herself.

How did you find a school? Witching and wizarding peers? Maybe it was because she didn’t have the right hat.

            She bought the right hat.

It made her hair look squashed. Also, two days later, mom took away the hat and told her she read too many books.

Juniper wasn’t sure that was a thing.

But she stopped reading books. Or she did for a little while, because one of her teachers gave her mother a Very Interesting pamphlet she thought her mother might be Very Interested in reading.

And just like that, without the right cauldron or the right way to read tea leaves or the right hat, Juniper’d found both her school and her peers.

            But... well...

... they all weren't quite what she'd expected.

                      Name: Nostradamus
                      Age: 5
                      Aura: CRIMSON
                      Species: Fluffy Maine Coon
Powers: Animal telepathy, but is he bad at it or just really stupid????
                      Owner: Juniper Bee
Appearance: Fluffy. Orange and black. Huge.

Personality: Nostradamus is not really interested in you. He's sleepy. Selfish. Hungry. Wants you to pet him three times exactly, otherwise he will attack your hand. Also wants very much sausage and/or tuna snacks. He doesn't understand why people aren't always catering to him, because he is clearly Best Cat, and everyone else is merely Sausage Providers or Useless Terrible Bipedal Catthings. He enjoys spreading his toes and bothering people he know don't really like cats. As for Juniper, he has claimed her in a tepid sort of way. She is Alright Bipedal Cat-thing.

History: All good witches have familiars, and now that she's at witching psychic school, Juniper figures that she needs one, too. She wrote to her parents and was granted the permission to go out and get herself any cat or dog or fish or frog that resonated with her.

Juniper went to a local shelter and was dazzled by the sweet curly-haired puppies, the ickle widdle sneks, the canaries, and some kittens. When she first saw Nos, back and orange Halloween-y creature, she thought he was a rug. A big fluffy rug. With toes. Big, spread-y, toe-fluffy toebean toes.

She couldn't quite explain what happened. It was electric. He seemed... grumpy. Mysterious. He was pretty much half her size. He completely ignored her.

But he was super, super cute. And she liked to pet him. And somehow, he seemed like he needed her, and that he would bring her to adventure.

So she got him, and named him Nostradamus, and so far, he has totally and completely failed her.

                      (She loves him anyway)
