Kail wasn't a fan of the winter either : The cold cut right through him and his glasses always misted right up. Plus you know, family tensions re:custody at christmas times. Blech. He hadn't considered the effect on his patrolling yet, but he probably would as soon as he went out in his uniform - it wasn't the thickest of materials, after all. But for now Kail wasn't thinking about winter, he was totally focused on the book he'd come to get.
At least, he had been. When he stepped into the store and saw all the decorations he blinked, completely derailed and very suprised. This was not normal bookshop fare. At least, not that he was aware of. He paused, though he did relax now he was in the familiar company of lots and lots of books. But interrupting his internal 'what-is-this' monologue came a voice, and he automatically turned towards Jessie as she spoke. He nodded in response.
He didn't move until she asked her second question though, busy examining the decorations (without touching them, you didn't touch other people's things without asking!) that were hanging.
"Um. I looked on the internet, and it appears you have a copy of the 2009 version of Mandell, Douglas, and Bennett's Principles and Practice of Infectious Diseases, which is uh, pretty hard to find?"
He smiled hopefully at her, excited to finally get his hands on a copy without paying a too exorbitant price. I mean it would still run him anywhere from two hundred to four hundred dollars (he was hoping for closer to two-fifty, but he did have enough for four hundred...) due to the original cost and relative rarity of the tome.
