Aquios ☬ Xanthos ☬ Pharos ☬ There Are Flames Behind These Eyes ☬ xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx☬ Fire Behind That Smile ☬ xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx☬ An Inferno Raging From Deep Inside ☬ ___________________________________________________________________________ "Even if I cannot feel the same things as you, that does not mean I cannot at least try to be more considerate and understanding." ___________________________________________________________________________ ☬ "No, I still do not quite understand what happened back there, other than I clearly must have read Vali's personality wrong. Not entirely, mind you, but there are obviously some things I still have need of learning when it comes to reading another persons emotions and intentions." Pharos said aloud, not afraid to answer his brother somewhere other than in his mind at the moment, as there didn't seem to be too many people around him right then. Any that were nearby probably wouldn't have noticed anyways, since when he did speak it was quietly, and his gaze was in the opposite direction, so seeing his mouth moving wasn't necessarily possible either. Not that it mattered if they did see or not. Pharos honestly didn't care about what anyone else thought of him right then. He was too busy trying to think back over exactly what had happened back in the restaurant earlier in the afternoon.
'Obviously, cause even though he did surprise me a bit as well, I still expected more of how he reacted than you did. That's saying something.' He heard his brother respond, the voice a bit quieter than usual. It seemed his twin was even going over the earlier events in his own mind as well. Though probably not for the same reasons. At the same time, his brothers mind felt a bit distant, something that only happened when he was either trying to block out Pharos' mind, or when he was tired. Either way, it brought his attention away from the issue with Vali and to his twin, and back to his surroundings as well. He was supposed to be patrolling after all, not just taking a stroll through the park. 『 ☬ Take Care The One With A Fiery Soul, Who Tames The Cold And Volatile Heart ☬ 』 'Is something wrong Aquios? You seem distant suddenly. Are my thoughts bothering you..? ' He asked, attempting to show concern in his thoughts, though he wasn't entirely sure it came out that way, let alone whether or not his twin would even take it as concern. Often times he took it as sarcasm and would snap back at him, or give some cold response back. Not that Pharos thought Aquios even appreciated his concern, since he didn't care whether someone worried about him or not. If anything, he seemed to find people being concerned about him annoying and strange. Probably because he more than likely wouldn't care about them in any sort of situation himself.
Not that he could blame him. He often found himself confused on how to respond to others concern for himself, though in some way he supposed he could understand why they would be.
'What's wrong...?' He heard his brother start in response, his voice at first sounding slightly annoyed, before he paused, seeming to think on how he'd asked him, before he spoke again, this time his mental voice simply sounding tired. 'Nothing you should be concerned about. I'm just tired. Haven't really been sleeping. Though I do have to admit, hearing you talk about how you ******** up with Vali earlier isn't helping any.' Aquios voice once again seemed a bit distant, and Pharos took a moment to stop walking, his gaze shifting to the side where he found himself looking into the water of a creek that ran through the park. He was standing on a small bridge that crossed over it. He couldn't tell if his brother was lying or not, not that he would actually tell him the truth even if he was and he called him out on it. If there was something bothering him enough to have him acting like that though, it was a real cause for concern in his mind. Aquios wasn't one to let stress or anything else get to him, he was usually very resistant to it. However he knew if he asked, his twin would just mock him and then shut him out.
Besides it wasn't like it was impossible for him to actually just be tired, seeing as Aquios hardly ever slept, whether in control of the body or not. If he ever did, it was usually when Pharos was in control, and he was safely tucked into the back of their mind. He was the only one who slept while in control, and even then it was usually only for three hours maybe.
"I see, sorry for asking then. Perhaps you should get some rest then brother. Let me handle the patrol on my own. I highly doubt anything of interest will happen today anyways. This city is always quiet." He muttered aloud before turning to continue on along the path.☬ ___________________________________________________________________________ "I have enough patience for the both of us, though even I have my limits. So be aware, if ever I lose it, I would fear for all in this place." ___________________________________________________________________________ ☬ Thawing The Resilient Frost That Shivers Deep Inside ☬ (Out Of Cognition: This post is crap, sorry but adjusting to Pharos isn't easy right now, especially with me trying to get over a headache while writing. lool Not much personality in there though. Ugh sorry)

Hyo-Rin had been walking around for about thirty minutes with nothing interesting happening. There were only a few people walking about, most likely everyone returned to work after lunch. Overall it was just a quiet day, which was driving her crazy. She couldn't do anything unless she heard something. At the rate this was going she might as well give up and come back later in the evening. Maybe then people would be around. Even if she nothing happened at least she would have something to listen to instead of feeling like she was wandering around town by herself.
Deciding to take a break she went over towards the park, where she could sit and contemplate her life choices. She had originally taken this job in honor of her brother and then it turned into a way for her to release pent up tension and frustration that her curse always had. Now it was just another source of frustration. Mainly because there was nothing to do. She never had anything interesting happen on patrol, besides stopping the occasional mugger. That wasn't even part of her job. She just did it cause she happened to be there and liked helping people. Something needed to change, she just didn't know what.
She almost didn't hear the familiar voice, but the name of the general caught her attention. She couldn't place where they were though. She got up and started heading towards there voice. After a few minutes she heard them on the path just ahead of her.
"You can say that again. I haven't heard a single thing while on patrol all afternoon."

Aquios ☬ Xanthos ☬ Pharos ☬ There Are Flames Behind These Eyes ☬ xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx☬ Fire Behind That Smile ☬ xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx☬ An Inferno Raging From Deep Inside ☬ ___________________________________________________________________________ "Even if I cannot feel the same things as you, that does not mean I cannot at least try to be more considerate and understanding." ___________________________________________________________________________ ☬ At least he was going to continue on, until a voice from behind him caught his attention. He paused and slowly turned to look over his shoulder at the one who had spoken to him. He hadn't needed to see her to know who it was, and the feeling of Aquios' mind shifting slightly as though his attention had been caught, told him he'd figured it out as well. Hyo-Rin. For a moment he didn't respond, he simply stood there and watched her as she approached, choosing instead to observe, so he might get an idea on what state she was in.
The girls voice gave away the most, as did her words, but as he watched her approach, he could see in her body language that she seemed to be a bit tense, and between both her voice and body language, perhaps frustrated, and bored. He couldn't blame her, things were too quiet, too relaxed, even for him. The most exciting thing that had happened that day, or that week alone, being the strangeness in Vali's reaction earlier on in the day, and even that was rather mundane when compared to what else could be going on. Even he often found himself getting a bit antsy, though he usually hid it rather well from the others.
"Sergeant Seo, yes, things do certainly seem to be a bit on the quiet side today. More so than the usual." Pharos asked, turning now to actually face her, a slight smile on his face. He doubted what she wanted was more peace, but if she was truly annoyed, he also doubted she'd want him to act cold, distant, and like he didn't really care whether she was upset or not. Like his brother probably would have. That or he would have found ways to encourage her to get even more worked up, which, depending, might not be the best idea. They still didn't know exactly what this girl was capable of, even if they knew she obviously had some skill if she was there with them.
"The park here usually has at least one or two looking to cause trouble, but I have yet to catch sight of anyone of the sort. It is a bit..." He paused, tilting his head a bit in thought. "Well it is a bit boring to be completely honest with you. Though it being calm I suppose is technically a good thing."
He had no doubt she had to be special in some way other than in being blind. Though in what way, he wasn't entirely sure. It was something that often had him thinking when there was nothing to do in the office, as strange as that might sound. People always made comments on how innocent and kind she seemed, some said she probably shouldn't be there in the squad, but since she had shown up he'd had a feeling something had to be....different about her. No matter how much he thought on it however nothing in particular came to mind on what that different thing might be. 『 ☬ Take Care The One With A Fiery Soul, Who Tames The Cold And Volatile Heart ☬ 』 He'd be lying if he said he wasn't curious, if he said he didn't want to know at all. At the same time though, he didn't care enough to bring it up to her, or to ask why she might have been placed in the military, or rather, in this squad in particular.
'I still say you should ask instead of constantly contemplating it yourself. That or if you don't care then drop it and forget it. It hardly matters to me, but simply thinking about it isn't going to answer your questions.' He heard his brothers voice break into his thoughts on the matter, which nearly brought the smile right off his face as it had caught him slightly off guard. He'd forgotten for a moment that Aquios had not gone to sleep, but had actually seemed to wake up a bit when Hyo-Rin had approached. Maybe he thought something interesting was going to happen, or maybe there was another reason behind it, but he wasn't going to ask. He didn't want to know.
He heard a laugh in the back of his mind and he did his best to simply ignore it.
'I simply do not think it is any of my business, and believe it or not, dear brother, some people do value their privacy. Just because you are shameless, does not mean other people are. Now, I believe you said you were tired? Then be quiet, and sleep.' Surprisingly, he didn't get a response from the other, though he was aware that may not be a good thing. After a moment of waiting, and not getting a response he turned to look out and around at his surroundings, the chains hanging from his belt making a metallic clinking sound as they hit off of each other. He'd removed most of the other piercings and chains, leaving only a small amount, and the piercings in his ears, as he honestly didn't much care for them as much as his brother seemed to.
"In fact, there seems to be a lack of the usual crowds that seem to come to the park on days like these. It is a bit odd, but I doubt it is any reason to get our hopes up that something interesting might happen." He said, not really thinking too much on his words. Usually he didn't show his boredom to the others in the squad all too much, but he didn't really see a reason not to talk to Hyo-Rin about it, seeing how she appeared to be having similar issues, though to what extent and for what reasons, he didn't know.☬ ___________________________________________________________________________ "I have enough patience for the both of us, though even I have my limits. Hyo-Rin tried not to make a face when he had said he hadn't seen anything. She had been hoping that there was activity she was just missing, but it seemed like there really wasn't much going on. It was technically a good thing though. Peace and quiet was always nice. It was just odd with the rumors floating around about gangs. Hopefully, the lack of the usual offenses and activity wasn't because they were becoming a part of that. It was unlikely, but still a possibility they had to look out for. Not that she'd be much help in that department.
"Well, then there's not much I can do. Is there?" She said, smiling and looking in the direction she heard him from. It was always easy to tell where they were cause of their accessories.
It was nice to know she wasn't the only bored. Though she couldn't recall either brother ever letting on to it before. Though she couldn't really talk as she did it too. She was just more polite and smiley about it, which she was being very bad at today. Tomorrow would be better though. Even if she had to run around all night and exhaust herself. Though the lack of sleep might backfire on her and that would be bad. Last thing she needed was to snap at someone.
"How long do you think we are going to have to sit here before something happens? Or before the higher-ups get tired of paying a bunch of people to wander around like a glorified police force?" Honestly, it was how she was starting to feel. She went through training to handle highly dangerous situations and instead she wandering around keeping people from robbing each other.

Aquios ☬ Xanthos ☬ Pharos ☬ There Are Flames Behind These Eyes ☬ xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx☬ Fire Behind That Smile ☬ xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx☬ An Inferno Raging From Deep Inside ☬ ___________________________________________________________________________ "Even if I cannot feel the same things as you, that does not mean I cannot at least try to be more considerate and understanding." ___________________________________________________________________________ ☬ At Hyo-Rin's response, he turned his gaze back over to her, but not without first catching sight of a small group of people walking along a path further ahead, partially hidden from view by a line of trees that separated their path from the one him and the girl were on. Three people as far as he could tell by just looking normally, but he didn't feel like using his eagle sight to make sure. They weren't moving like they intended to cause trouble anyways, so honestly he couldn't see a reason for why he should do so.
'She is disappointed it seems...' He thought to himself as he watched her carefully. Despite the smile she offered, he found himself doubting that she was in any way actually amused or pleased by anything that was said, or the situation they were in. Not with how she had approached him before. The frustration she'd held both in the way she had walked and in her voice then were unlikely to have just been something temporary. Not to mention, the words she spoke seemed filled with some form of disappointment now, to go along with the rest.
He wasn't sure what he could do exactly to help her with any of these problems, other than to simply talk to her for now. Give her something to do even if it was something small.
"Hmm, unfortunately I do not think there is anything that can be done here no...Though a patrol is still needed, and I have not finished mine, if you would like to accompany me?" Pharos offered, a slight smile on his face as he attempted to make his voice sound a bit lighter in tone. Honestly though he wasn't entirely sure if he was either succeeding, or even doing well to hide his own frustrations. No one usually seemed to notice any other time, but he was also usually around more than just Hyo-Rin, and usually a little more cautious and careful with how he spoke or acted when in the office or with anyone else like Leon, Vali, or even Kieran, who, despite usually being lost in thought, always somehow ended up asking him the most frustrating or random questions, which often made it difficult for him to keep his cool. It wasn't easy to read him, or Vali even it seemed, and that drove him mad sometimes.
How was he supposed to make sure he tread carefully with people who just kept going against everything he thought he knew about them? Or that somehow just seemed to know how to push his buttons? Not that it didn't make for interesting situations of course, but sometimes it made it difficult to keep some of his anger down. That was one of the reasons Aquios had quickly left the restaurant before. He was getting ready to switch out with him, and knew that if anyone else had spoken to him while he was still so thrown off by Vali's response, he probably would have snapped at them. Hyo-Rin, luckily, seemed to have decided to show up after he'd more came to accept his own mistake in reading Vali and so he felt confident enough that he wouldn't snap at her. 『 ☬ Take Care The One With A Fiery Soul, Who Tames The Cold And Volatile Heart ☬ 』 'Maybe you should give up on the whole act. I'm still not entirely sure what the point in pretending is, other than the fact you used to feel emotions in the same way others do. I know you don't actually care about any of them.' His brother finally said, breaking through his thoughts again, though this time Pharos found himself more annoyed than startled. Aquios was bringing this up again, knowing it would push his buttons. Why did he feel the need to try and make things worse?
Stupid question. Of course he knew at least part of the reason, that it was just in his nature, but the rest of it was a mystery to him. Either way he wasn't going to give him a response, and instead he kept his thoughts silent, his attention suddenly snapping back to Hyo-Rin as he realized she had been speaking to him. Most of the words had sounded distant and muddled as he'd been focused on both listening to his brother and on not snapping at him out loud, but luckily he'd caught enough to put together what she'd said just from the context. He blinked, and sighed softly, opening his mouth to apologize to her for his rudeness when he heard his brothers voice in his mind again.
'Are you trying to ignore me, Pharos?' His voice held an oddness to it, almost some weird mix of a cold quiet anger and dark amusement, and on anyone else, it probably would have sent chills down their spines, but instead, it brought him to a halt, and he had to grit his teeth in order to stop himself from making a sound somewhere between surprise and annoyance. He only partially succeeded, as the breath he attempted to let out slowly and quietly between his teeth ended up coming out as something more like a very soft growl.
He twitched, then looked back up at Hyo-Rin, throwing a smile up on his face though he knew she couldn't see it, he hoped he heard it in his voice, and nothing else. Though he was a bit tense now.
"Ah I am sorry. I hope I did not keep you waiting for a response too long. My brother..was speaking to me. I tend to get a bit distracted when dealing with him. I certainly hope you can forgive me for that." His voice was mostly steady, though some of the tension was definitely still there. Most people wouldn't pick up on it, but Hyo-Rin wasn't most people, and Pharos wasn't exactly sure just how well she could hear things. If he was aware he perhaps would have tried a bit harder to hide it. No matter how difficult that would have been."In response to your question on how long you think we will have to sit around waiting for something to happen before those higher up in the ranks get tired of us. I do not think I can honestly give you an accurate estimate. All that I can say is, I hope that if something is going to happen, that it happens soon."
"I am not entirely sure how much longer they will either be willing to pay us, or that anyone in our squad will be willing to sit still. Even Aquios and I are..." He paused for a moment, contemplating whether he should continue on speaking or not. Yes this was Hyo-Rin, yes she was also frustrated with their situation, but should he really be telling her this? Wasn't this something that generally people like him were supposed to avoid doing? It usually gave some things away that should stay hidden, but at the same time, he found it doubtful that she'd think too much on it. Maybe she'd just assume he was capable of being angry like anyone else despite the act he put on, and wouldn't jump to conclusions. There was no real need to get too worried. Besides, being honest was usually the best way to go, wasn't it? Honest to an extent anyways.
"Even we are getting to be a bit tired of all of this waiting around. Of this stand still everything seems to be stuck at. As horrible as this may sound, as peace is probably for the best.."☬ ___________________________________________________________________________ "I have enough patience for the both of us, though even I have my limits. So be aware, if ever I lose it, I would fear for all in this place." ___________________________________________________________________________ ☬ Thawing The Resilient Frost That Shivers Deep Inside ☬ (Out Of Cognition: Sorry towards the end it may get a bit odd. XD I tried to describe it well enough for you to see what Hyo-Rin could pick up on but yeaaah. Not sure how much personality there will be in there. Hopefully enough. )

She couldn't stop herself from raising an eyebrow at his offer. It was unexpected to say the least. It wasn't the first time someone had offered to go patrolling with her. People tried all the time when she first joined, because they didn't think she was capable on her own. So, it wasn't the fact that she was being asked that surprised her. It was who had asked. Not that she had a problem with either brother. She just didn't know them very well. They kept more to themselves and she wasn't overly close with anyone at work. She was nice to everyone, but she tried to keep a professional relationship with them. She was also pretty sure that she would drive half of them crazy if she acted more like herself or they would rive her crazy. Not that some of them weren't close to that already.
"I haven't finished mine either. I was taking a break to try and get focused again." More like the will to keep doing it. "If you're sure you don't mind me tagging along then I would love to," she replied.
She was waiting for his response when she heard a sigh. She opened her mouth to tell him he didn't have to answer if he was uncomfortable, when a growl cut her off. She snapped her mouth shut at that. Did I hear that right? She didn't have time to question it further as he started speaking. He still sounded a bit tense. Though there was almost always an undertone of that with Pharos, but this was slightly more obvious. It could just be something his brother said to him or frustration with work. She noticed his pause, but wasn't sure what to make of it. She'd have to keep an eye for similar behavior in case there was something going on there.
"Its no problem. I can imagine that its not easy to focus like that." She honestly had no idea how they dealt with that. Did either of them ever get privacy? Was it tiring always having someone there? Was it nice to never feel lonely? She was curious, but she knew better than to ask. It was none of her business and she didn't want to make them uncomfortable.
"While that's true that peace is for the best. I can't help but think that its not peace, but a calm before a storm," she said, calming down a bit. "At least that's the feeling I've been getting. It doesn't help that I'm not a patient person," she said with a smirk. "But talking about it isn't going to change anything. Do you need to do anything before getting back to patrol?"

╔══════════════╗ Vreonous Silver-Bird Master Gunnery Sergeant ╚══════════════╝ It had been a lovely morning, the tall man reflected, as he watched the ground spiral closer with a sigh. Why had he climbed out of his perfectly respectable, comfortable bed again? Sunshine was good and all, but being taken out by a seagull because he hadn't been looking where he'd been going, and crash landing into the park...well, that just wasn't a morning worth greeting....even if it was technically the afternoon, and he'd been sleeping on a pile of paperwork at his desk instead of in a bed. Again. But he couldn't help it, boring paperwork gave him spontaneous narcolepsy! Sighing, he flared his wings and backwinged hard as the ground grew closer. What a day indeed....he hoped the grass was enough of a cushion...
Vre tried to land, but found himself stumbling and tripping--sprawling out across the soft, dew damp grass with a low grunt of annoyance. What had started out as a nice fly to stretch his wings was quickly becoming something of a chore for the slender Keeper, and he was deeply regretting dragging himself out into the pleasant weather. Grumbling, the silver haired man rolled his shoulders and sat up, stretching his wings out carefully, one after the other, to make certain he hadn't bent or dislodged any of the shining mercury feathers. Outside of a bit of dirt, everything looked to be in order. Tsking himself, he smoothed his hands across the living metal and carefully began to wipe the dirt away.
"Well aren't you a stupid bird, losing to a sea rat of the skies." He chided gently beneath his breath, long fingers gliding over the large expanse of living metal as he double checked to make certain he hadn't missed anything. Only one feather came loose, and the lanky man tucked it away into the tail of his long braid for safe keeping; he'd reattach it with quill pins and a bit of glue later in the day, when he had a spare moment or needed a break from the sheer agony that was paperwork. Pushing himself back slowly to his feet, Vre glanced around to see if his dignity would be further hampered by witnesses. OOC: Whelp. First posts are always the hardest to make...hope this is alright)

Aquios ☬ Xanthos ☬ Pharos ☬ There Are Flames Behind These Eyes ☬ xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx☬ Fire Behind That Smile ☬ xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx☬ An Inferno Raging From Deep Inside ☬ ___________________________________________________________________________ "Even if I cannot feel the same things as you, that does not mean I cannot at least try to be more considerate and understanding." ___________________________________________________________________________ ☬ "I am sure, Sergeant Seo, I would not have offered if I had not meant it." He said, with a quiet laugh. He did what he could to make it sound amused, but with how tense he was he wasn't sure he'd succeeded. That didn't mean he wasn't amused in some fashion that she might doubt his word, but sometimes that didn't make it through in his voice. At least not in the way he wanted it to.
'I need to relax.' He thought to himself, as he attempted to push aside some of his frustrations. Luckily he missed her reactions to his sigh and growl from before though, else the situation probably would have gotten a little worse. There wasn't much you could do to explain that sort of thing away in any reasonable manner. The only way he probably could have managed would have, perhaps, been to blame his brother. Which in a way he already did even if not directly.
"It is in fact not the easiest thing to do when you are sharing your mind and body with another person, especially so with one who seems to constantly make it their mission to make your life miserable in some way shape or form." Pharos said, chuckling, the sound at least slightly more relaxed than the last time.
"I cannot help but think you might be right in that line of thinking. Things have been feeling a bit off as of late..." He started before trailing off as he caught sight of a shadow darting past along the ground. Blinking, he stared at the ground for a moment before he brought his gaze back up to Hyo-Rin. "Hmm, no I do not have anything else that really needs done. Not that I can think of at the moment anyways. Though perhaps we should start moving now, before it starts getting later. I am sure Vali would not be pleased if we do not turn in our reports in the morning when we both had patrols to get done. Also as you were saying, talking about it probably really is not going to help us any, unfortunately." 『 ☬ Take Care The One With A Fiery Soul, Who Tames The Cold And Volatile Heart ☬ 』 As much as he wished differently, she did have a point in that. Then again, when has simply talking about wanting something to happen ever made it do so? Not often, at least not for him anyways. Turning back around, he once again heard the chains hanging from his belt clink as they collided with each other, but he paid them no mind. At least he knew Hyo-Rin would know he was moving again.
'So you aren't going to acknowledge the shadow..and you aren't going to tell Hyo-Rin about it either? I mean, yes that could have been a bird, but really, unless it was some unnatural one that shadow definitely calls for attention of some sort.' Did his brother just tell him he was being careless? Wait...what? Aquios, telling him he wasn't being cautious enough? What was the world coming to? Not to mention the fact he brought up Hyo-Rin too. Almost like he was concerned, though that wasn't in his voice. What was wrong with them today?
'You, are telling me to be cautious of all people? I do not think you have the right. Besides, I have not forgotten the shadow, I am keeping an eye out.' He responded, mentally sighing. 'Was looking up too difficult for you or something? I mean for someone who is supposedly the more intelligent and observant of us you sure seem to be the opposite today. Even I would have thought to look up to try and see what the hell that shadow was from.'
"Oh will you just be quiet. I am tense as is I do not need more of a reason to be on.." The sudden blur of something falling out of the sky to his right, and the sound of crashing broke him, rather violently, out of his thoughts, and he jumped slightly, leaping back a few feet away from the bushes where the thing had fallen. He was about to bring out his flames when he caught sight of something metal glinting in the sunlight. Feathers. Metal feathers. Vre. He suddenly relaxed, though that didn't stop the quick flash of anger that flickered through him at having been caught off guard. It was gone as quickly as it had come but it was almost enough to make him snap at the man. Luckily, he had more control over himself than that. 'You said that last part out loud by the way. Just saying.'
His eye twitched slightly.
"Sergeant Silver...you have a bit of dirt....everywhere. Also might I ask, what exactly you are doing, falling out of the sky?"☬ ___________________________________________________________________________ "I have enough patience for the both of us, though even I have my limits. ┏++++++++++++++++┓ I'll be the star that finally shines but still my heart will fall cause through it all I'm still the me to helpless to save Cause every word was out of reach ┗++++++++++++++++┛
She smiled at him and giggled at his response. He sounded more relaxed, still tense overall. She hoped she wasn't causing him any unnecessary stress. Though from the sound of it his brother was, but she couldn't do anything about that. It wasn't like she could speak to him at the moment. At least without having to use Pharos as a messenger for him, which would just be weird and awkward.
The way he trailed off for a moment caught her attention. As far as she could tell he wasn't doing anything. She listened to see if it was something nearby. During there conversation she had been focusing more on him and not her surroundings, which was a stupid move. Even if it was peaceful, unexpected things happened and she didn't want to be caught off guard just cause she couldn't see. Not to mention with how tense she was there was a chance of her slipping if surprised and no one wanted to see that. As far as she could tell nothing was amiss though. All she heard was the sound of people talking and wind. Nothing exciting or anything.
His voice brought her attention back to him. She nodded, "Alright. I also don't want to spend all night patrolling. Sleep would be nice once in a while." She smiled and followed him when she heard the chains start to move. It was honestly one of the things she liked about them. She could tell who was who by how they walked, but other indicators where always helpful. Even though some of the others made her question what they were wearing. Aquios and Pharos just made her wonder how much jewelry and stuff they were wearing to make so much noise.
She let her mind wander for a bit on the subject. Just paying attention enough to know she was still following him and where he was. His voiced snapped her out of it though. At first she thought he was talking to her, but soon realized that it was probably directed at Aquios. It looked right she was right about him being tense though. Especially, if he was snapping at his brother out loud.
Of course, what happened next cut off all thoughts or worries about Pharos. She was not prepared for the sudden crash that happened. Before she knew it she was flipping backwards away from the source and pulling out her escrima sticks. She quickly slipped into a fighting stance with both if them resting on her shoulders. A growl escaped her mouth as she bared her teeth in a snarl. She resisted the urge to open her eyes. Though it felt like they were burning. She had to take deep breaths and wait for the urge to subside. By that time Pharos was talking to whoever made the noise. Once it registered that it was Vre, she tried to relax. It was difficult, but after a moment she put her escrima sticks back in their holsters and stood normally again.
A few deep breaths and she turned to where she guessed Vre was. "Are you okay? That sounded like a bad landing," she mustered up a concerned look, but her hands were still shaking from the sudden burst of adrenaline.

╔══════════════╗ Vreonous Silver-Bird Master Gunnery Sergeant ╚══════════════╝ Vre blinked in surprise at the two before him, Mercury gaze taking in two of their tense stances. Had he been the cause of their jumpiness? Smiling sheepishly, the tall Keeper ducked his head and ran his hands over the front of his jacket, trying to clean the dirty and grass stains, half tempted to Flicker to a dimension where grass and dirt couldn't co-exist with the atmosphere, and just let the whole mess evaporate from the fabric. And then he got bored, and went back to staring the two down, waiting patiently for them to collect themselves before he calmly started brushing himself off once more. It was with absent, thoughtless motions that he moved, long used to the process through years of countless practice. The fabric he wore seemed to shed the grime easily; but then again, that was exactly what he’d designed it to do. Picking off bits of grass and leafs, the pale man smiled pleasantly at them.
"Master Gunny, if you please, Pharos. Sergeant silver makes me sound like a bad hair dye commercial. And I worked hard for this badge, ugly as it may be."He tapped a finger against the patch on his shoulder, the golden exploding pineapple vivid against the crimson back drop, three chevrons proudly in place above it while four rockers bracketed it in from below. The emblem of a Master Gunnery Sergeant.
” And I’ll have you know I was minding my own business when I had a midair collision. With a seagull. Not my finest moment, I must admit, really. And yes, Sergeant, I’m quite alright. I’ve fallen much further with little to no damage; but then again, I cheat and flicker to bleed off momentum. I just forgot to do so before I hit…Are you alright? I can’t remember either of you being so high strung before…” He didn’t mean it in an insulting way; but they both had startled quite a bit, and the less respectable side of Vre was curious. Clasping his hands behind his back and tugging his wings closer to his sides, the willowy man took two careful steps out of the bush and flicked his wings; metal feathers whispering softly while he moved, though the man himself could move as silently as a shadow if he wished it. The noise was for Hye-Rin's benefit, since that stance of hers looked quite dangerous, and Vre had no intention of accidentally being introduced to it. Or Pharos' abilities. Vre didn't bruise well; it was an ugly, disease like thing on him that took days to heal. And he was vain. OOC: Sorry this took so long to get up!)

Aquios ☬ Xanthos ☬ Pharos ☬ There Are Flames Behind These Eyes ☬ xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx☬ Fire Behind That Smile ☬ xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx☬ An Inferno Raging From Deep Inside ☬ ___________________________________________________________________________ "Even if I cannot feel the same things as you, that does not mean I cannot at least try to be more considerate and understanding." ___________________________________________________________________________ ☬ While Pharos knew his own reaction wasn't what it usually was, even when compared to situations that might have been considered tense in the past, he also knew that compared to Hyo-Rin's, his was tame. For the most part he kept his gaze and focus on Vre through the ordeal, but it wasn't like he missed her response to the situation. It wasn't exactly the easiest thing someone could do. Especially when the growl tore from her throat and she barred her teeth at the metal winged male.
Even Aquios seemed to perk up at that response, a buzz of curiosity from the male hitting him from the back of his mind, mixing with his own, and causing his attention to temporarily drift from Vre and to her. Though she seemed to have calmed down by the time he fully looked at her, at least enough to speak somewhat steadily to Vre, he could tell that she was still on alert, and still not fully at ease despite the lack of a threat being near by. In fact, her hands still seemed to be shaking, which he avoided to the best of his ability looking directly at so as not to clue Vre in on it. Why didn't he want him to notice? Well he wasn't entirely sure of that himself, but he felt for some reason he just shouldn't bring attention to it.
"I am sorry, I did not mean to offend you in some way with the use of your proper title. However, does...Master Gunny not sound perhaps a bit unprofessional to you? No offense meant of course." He asked a bit quietly as he forced himself to look away from Hyo-Rin and back over to Vre. Not an easy task honestly, but he did so anyways, a small smile on his face as he watched the male looking cautiously between him and her.
'It seems we were right to think she was not quite what she seemed...' He thought to himself and his brother, his mental voice somewhat quiet, as though he was worried someone other than Aquios might hear him. He had after all accidentally spoken aloud shortly before Vre had crash landed. It made sense that he might be cautious about what he said now. 'Oh? Are you admitting that you might be curious about her? How unlike you, usually you try and avoid that sort of thing at all costs.'
'Well what about you? It is not like you are usually one to show anyone, even me, just how curious you are about another person. At least not like that. I have to admit you are a bit confusing though. First you act like she made you angry back in the restaurant but the moment she approached us here in the park all I have been able to sense from you is curiosity. Then now, obviously your interest has been peaked.' 『 ☬ Take Care The One With A Fiery Soul, Who Tames The Cold And Volatile Heart ☬ 』 "I apologize if we startled you..Master Gunny..but before you had shown up, it was perhaps a bit on the eerily quiet side. We were, to say the least, rather tense, and your sudden crashing down from the sky..may have driven us to a rather harsh reaction." He offered in explanation, his voice still a bit quieter than it had been when he'd been speaking to Hyo-Rin previously. Now that there was another person there he was a little less at ease with speaking. He would try and not be rude, but he was sure Vre would understand to some extent, as Pharos was never the most talkative person to begin with. Only when he needed to explain certain things or situations did he normally string together so many words.
'Hmm? Interest peaked? Whatever could you mean twin? I don't recall ever mentioning anything that might have brought you to that conclusion.' His brother responded mentally, his voice giving off the impression of a smile or grin as he'd spoken. He obviously wasn't even trying to hide it this time. For some reason he had a feeling that the next time the male got to speak to Hyo-Rin, he might try something. What that something might be, he wasn't sure, but he knew he wasn't looking forward to it. At least that's what he would like to say. Some part of him was curious, even if he knew he shouldn't be. After all, it wasn't like he hadn't had thoughts on testing her in some way himself. Though he was doing his best to ignore those thoughts, and to ignore the urge he had to try and push her into reacting the way she had once again.
That alone probably wouldn't have been enough for him anyways.
'Drop the subject for now brother. I do not have the time to split my attention between you and them. Unlike you I actually try to keep myself under control, as you well know. Do not try and make this worse for me. I will admit to my curiosity, but that is all I will do. Now please. Let me focus.' He pleaded with his brother, trying to push aside his thoughts on Hyo-Rin's odd reaction for the moment as he brought his attention back to the situation at hand. His gaze flicked over towards the girl before he brought his attention back to Vre. 'Fine, I'll be quiet...for the moment.'
"Ah..Sorry if I went a bit quiet there. My brother was speaking to me." He said quietly, realizing he may have been quiet for longer than he had wanted to be. He only hoped it hadn't been for too long. "Sargent Seo and I were about to go on a patrol together. Since you are here now, I suppose I should ask if you would like to join us."☬ ___________________________________________________________________________ "I have enough patience for the both of us, though even I have my limits. ┏++++++++++++++++┓ I'll be the star that finally shines but still my heart will fall cause through it all I'm still the me to helpless to save Cause every word was out of reach ┗++++++++++++++++┛
Deep breathes. Everything is fine. No one is in danger. It was just Vre, being stupid. I mean, who crashes into seagulls? People that need to be more aware of there surroundings. Like me. I should have heard him, she thought, while listening to Pharos and Vre talk. Most of the tension had left her, but she was on high alert now. Listening to everything in the park. She could make out the pointless conversation the people across the park were having along with the wind blowing through the trees. She could hear the steady rhythm of the stream not to far from where they were standing. She could hear both Vre and Pharos breathing, which was helpful for telling her where exactly they were.
After a few moments of trying to relax and failing she realized she was just going to have to deal with it and give it time to go away. Though that might be easy said than done. She wasn’t sure how perceptive either of them was and the last thing she needed was people thinking she had anger issues. Time to fake it, she thought, taking one last deep breath and smiled. She tried to make it seem natural, going from her earlier concerned look to being relieved that Vre was all right. Not that she wasn’t relieved or anything. It would be unfortunate if he had hurt himself.
She walked closer to both of them and smiled, making sure to face both of them. “Well, I’m glad you’re okay. It would be terrible if something bad happened.” She turned to Pharos when he gave Vre and excuse as to why they freaked out. Though she wasn’t sure how badly Pharos did. She hadn’t been paying attention. She turned back to Vre and gave him a nervous smile. “Yes. I am sorry about that. You caught me by surprise.” She gave a nervous laugh. “Hopefully, I didn’t scare you or anything.”
She stood there for a few moments smiling at both of them. All outwards signs of tension suppressed. At least as much as she could. She hadn’t heard anything from Pharos for a bit. She knew he was still there. She was still listening intently and would have heard if he so much as shifted. She almost turned to say something, when he finally spoke. Ah, Aquios again. Should have figured, she thought.
“If you have time, it would be wonderful if you joined us. Though I understand if you have other duties to attend to,” she said politely.

╔══════════════╗ Vreonous Silver-Bird Master Gunnery Sergeant ╚══════════════╝ Vre smiled good naturedly at Pharos as he spoke, hands tucked into his trouser pockets as he reclined backwards—supporting himself with his wings, the metal whispering against the path as he hardened his feathers so they could take his weight. The twin thought that was his full title? Oh he was in for as surprise….” Actually that is my nickname. My full title is Master Gunnery Sergeant Silver-Bird. But I’m not a stuck up enough to insist others use y full title, because it’s a mouthful and I’m just not that sadistic. Besides, do I honestly strike you as terribly professional, when I don’t need to be?” The tall, slender man rocked back on his heels and laughed lightly, his smile growing. He was, for the most part, a friendly person. “Master Gunnies are the bridge between those below us in rank, and the officer ranks. We’re looser than the rest of them, my dear Pharos. ”
Leaning forward once more, he brushed his long braid back over his shoulder and plucked the feather from the end; twirling it between his fingers while the young man clearly got distracted with his brother. Instead, Vre fixed his attention on Hye-Rin. He was polite enough to wait for her to regain her composure and begin speaking, before he moved closer—once again careful to make more than enough noise for her to track him without effort. The feather in his fingers sang as he twirled it faster, a soft, sweet sound.
“Oh don’t worry, my dear; I’m fairly durable. Laina would have set me six feet under long ago if I weren’t. That woman has no ability or want to pull her punches…No no, no fright from me. I was just curious. A little pent up, hm? Nothing of interest happening lately? I know I get like that when there’s too much paperwork tying me to my desk…” She couldn’t see the knowing and sympathetic smile he shot her, but it was obvious in his light and airy tone.
And then Pharos was back with them, and Vre’s good natured teasing was forgotten. Lifting a hand, the silver haired man waved his apology away. “No need to apologise: your situation isn’t exactly a normal one, after all. I suppose if you both wouldn’t mind an old bird brain like me joining, then it would be impolite of me to refuse. Was there anything in particular you were looking out for?” It wasn’t as though he got out enough to know more than the general information, lately. OOC: I’m So, SO sorry this took so long!)

Aquios ☬ Xanthos ☬ Pharos ☬ There Are Flames Behind These Eyes ☬ xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx☬ Fire Behind That Smile ☬ xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx☬ An Inferno Raging From Deep Inside ☬ ___________________________________________________________________________ "Even if I cannot feel the same things as you, that does not mean I cannot at least try to be more considerate and understanding." ___________________________________________________________________________ ☬ Pharos raised an eyebrow at Vre's comment, just barely fighting the urge to throw a more sarcastic remark back at the male for seemingly assuming he did not know his title. The main thing that kept him from actually snapping at the other being that his attention at that moment was split between him and Hyo-Rin, who seemed to be trying to further calm herself. In the back of his mind he heard Aquios snort, but he chose to not acknowledge him, instead choosing to keep the girl in sight, if not directly, than at least from the corner of his eyes. She seemed to be trying to pay attention to what was going on, but at the same time, it seemed that while Vre was mostly distracted by speaking to him, she was working towards hiding away how she had responded to his crashing down so suddenly. He was sure that if he could feel remorse, he'd feel bad about not warning her when Aquios had told him to, but he couldn't, and didn't. If anything, it had made it so he could see an interesting reaction from the girl.
Speaking of interesting. He watched as she seemed to take a deep breath, as though to steady herself, and then she was smiling. It was like nothing had ever happened, and unless you were extremely observant, it would seem like there wasn't even a slight trace of tension left in her body. However, Pharos knew differently. He could see it in her, the tension, the slightest of movements she made in response to a sound that was made, how she reacted when he hadn't spoken in a while. With a soft sigh, the male shook his head and smiled at the winged man once again. Taking his attention away from Hyo-Rin was not easy. It was even less so than it had been before.
"I see. I think there has been some sort of misunderstanding. I am well aware of your full title, but in most situations where it is a long one, most just use one part of that title to address the person. For example, since your title has Sergeant in it, most would just call you Sergeant Silver-Bird. Because you are still a Sergeant even if not quite at the same level as Sergeant Seo is here. That is, unless the squad is much more strict, and they require exact titles to be used." He explained, his voice giving away none of the irritation he felt towards the other. Perhaps what he had learned during his time as an experiment meant for military and government use hadn't taught him enough or the correct things. He could be wrong on this, but he was pretty sure he wasn't. Either way, it didn't actually matter all that much. What had bothered him was Vre's assumption that he was not aware of his title after so long of working together. He wasn't like his brother, he actually tried to remember everything, and actually tried to use everyones proper titles.
Then again, it wasn't like he had often talked to the winged man. So he supposed he couldn't blame him too much. There was also the fact that no one here knew what he was originally meant for, so it wasn't like they were aware he started learning these things before he even came to the squad as a hired mercenary.
"Let us not get caught up on that however. Just do keep in mind that I am not my brother, and that I am both more aware than, and more respectful than him."He felt his brother twitch from that comment and knew that if he wasn't still trying to keep his word that he would keep quiet for a little while, he would have made a smart a** remark. "I do not try to go out of my way to upset the people I work with." 『 ☬ Take Care The One With A Fiery Soul, Who Tames The Cold And Volatile Heart ☬ 』 For just a moment his attention shifted directly to Hyo-Rin but he moved it back to Vre as he realized he'd almost forgotten that he had spoken to him again. Though the other told him not to apologize, he once again offered an apologetic smile even though he didn't really feel bad about it. In a weird way he sort of felt he appreciated the fact that the guy realized his situation wasn't exactly normal, and that he understood he couldn't exactly help it. Well he couldn't always help it. It took energy to block Aquios out though, and he preferred having all of his energy when interacting with other people. Even if his twin did drive him crazy some times.
"Also thank you for understanding my situation, but I still feel it is rather impolite for me to go quiet like that. I will do my best to try and keep up with everything going on here from here on out. Though do forgive me if I do not speak all too much. As I am sure you know, I am usually not this talkative." He said, his gaze sliding away from the male and to the park itself. There still didn't seem to be much going on. That one group of people that had been walking through was still in sight, though a bit further away now, and that was still all he really saw in the way of anything living other than themselves, the trees and other plants of the park, and the few birds and other animals that were wandering around the area. "As for what we are looking for. Honestly anything out of the ordinary, or anyone looking to cause trouble. Though the lack of people here in the park is odd enough as is. Things are rather quiet around here today it seems. Quieter than they usually are, or rather, quieter than they have been the last few days, and that is saying something."
'If only something would actually happen to break this tension though. At least Hyo-Rin will be a nice distraction from it all.' He thought to himself before he twitched slightly, realizing what he had just thought. 'What am I thinking? I am supposed to be the rational one here, the reasonable one. I am not the one who allows myself to act out on things like this... I will just watch her. Nothing more.'
The sound of a low, dark laugh in the back of his mind broke him rather harshly from his own thoughts and he actually outwardly flinched at the sound. His brother had mostly been quiet until then, and for him to suddenly laugh out of nowhere had actually caught him off guard. It didn't help that the sound was clearly filled with a cruel and dark sort of amusement. Cruel towards him he had no doubt, dark towards both him and Hyo-Rin. So much for him keeping quiet.
'You just keep telling yourself that brother mine, cause I'll be the one laughing when you finally slip up and can't keep yourself from giving in to your curiosity. And if you think after that smart a** comment of yours from earlier that I'm going to make life any easier on you, you're sorely mistaken. I think things are going to be getting much more interesting from here on out.' The male chuckled, the sound dark and cold. On the outside Pharos felt himself take the slightest step back at the sound. He wasn't scared so much as a little worried about what his brother might mean. Of course he wasn't stupid, he had some idea of what he had in mind, but with Aquios...He flicked his gaze over Vre and Hyo-Rin, then he looked back towards the path he'd been trying to get them to walk down for a while now. 'Don't you brother?'
"Perhaps..we should get moving. Yes?" He offered quietly, before he quickly turned to start moving, the chains on his clothing rattling harshly this time at his sudden movements. Once again, at least Hyo-Rin would know he was moving, but then again, something told him she would have known even without the noise. ☬ ___________________________________________________________________________ "I have enough patience for the both of us, though even I have my limits. So be aware, if ever I lose it, I would fear for all in this place." ___________________________________________________________________________ ☬ Thawing The Resilient Frost That Shivers Deep Inside ☬ (Out Of Cognition: Sorry the pacing is so weird in this post and if something doesn't make sense please let me know.
