"Mystery! It's getting dark outside... maybe we should go inside..."

"It's only 4!!!" was the counterargument from the silvery haired child as she turned back to her favorite model.

Yvette had only been working for Carolynn Wylde for a few days, and she was quickly learning what a little firecracker the woman's child was. In one of the fleeting moments when Mystery Wylde was not around, the woman finally managed to explain how the child made up her own words. She was also set in her own ways due to her upbringing, and from what the quiet girl had seen, quite coddled as well.

Not wanting to be a wet blanket in this gathering of neighbors, the momentary caretaker offered "We could stay out for another hour I guess... just don't forget to use the flash. And as long as Mimi can still stay out!" The young lady offered a smile to Mystery's friend, Mimi.

Dramatically flopping her head into her friend's lap, the child mentioned "I knooooooooowwwwwww!!! I am a photographer! You aren't! Mimi understands my artistic stylings! Don't you Mimi?" From her spot in her friend's lap, the girl smiled up to her neighbor.

It had taken Minerva a little while to get used to Mystery's new "employee." Not because she wasn't nice, but because she was used to it just being the two of them, and maybe one of their moms. Change was hard for her, and for the first couple of days, she let Mystery take the lead, trying to work out her feelings on her own.

Fortunately, Yvette was nice. Better yet, she was quiet, which meant that being around her wasn't overwhelming. For the most part, it was easy enough to tune her out and focus on what she was doing. Which, at that moment, meant lacing up the ribbons on her ballet-style slippers.

Until Mystery fell into her lap dramatically. Then she started giggling. "Of course I understand," she said between laughs, as she took one of the butterfly clips out of her bun and used it to pull a few strands of her friend's much shorter hair out of her face.

"But it's fine with Mama," she added. Tuning someone out was not the same as ignoring them, since that would be rude. "She has a deadline, and she says as long as we don't go far, I can stay out until dinner!" Which meant more time for the photo shoot, and more time for her to practice the combination she'd learned in dance class the day before.

Now adorned with a new hairclip, Mystery turned her head to the side, then to the other side. "Am I beautimous*, daaaaahling?" Sitting herself back upright, the silvery haired child once more did a classic head turn, patting the bottom of her hair as she did such.

There was a good chance that Carolynn had taught the child a lot about posing.

The petite adult sighed lightly as the two children continued with their cheery banters amongst themselves as she gazed out to the picture perfect house. Yvette had her sketchpad upon her lap, pencil lightly gripped between her fingers. She usually preferred drawing figures, but taking a break to do something different never hurt.

Especially when the subject was already so picture perfect on its own.

Briefly smudging a section of the picture, she glanced up to catch sight of something.

"Mmmmm...?" Towards the front steps to the porch she spotted a faint glimmer of golden light. It was fleeting.

"Mystery... did Oasis get out?"

The child turned towards where her momentary caregiver was looking. "...I don't think so... Mimi! Let's go investigate!!!" Rather easily, she grabbed her friend's hand and dragged her forward. Immediately she began checking the small bushes near the porch.

"Absolutely fantastical!" Minerva chirped in response. Unlike Mystery, she didn't really have a thing for made-up words, so even though she knew what they meant, she felt more comfortable sticking with the ones that everyone could understand. That way, she'd be far less likely to end up confusing people.

She finished tying her ribbons and stood up, trying a simple turn on the grass. Wearing her real ballet slippers outside would ruin them, so instead she and her grandmother had picked out a pair of ballet-style flats and sewn ribbons to them, to properly mimic pointe shoes. Someday soon, she was hoping to get a real pair, but until then, these would have to do.

Before she could go into her routine, Yvette spoke again, and she could barely process what was said before Mystery began to drag her towards the house. Minerva didn't have any pets of her own, though she wanted one, so she liked spending time with the Wylde's cat. "I'll check around the side," she offered, darting off to the area between their houses. "Oaaaaaaasiiiiiiiis? Here, kitty kitty kitty!"

Mystery might have been dressed up like a young lady, but the reality was that she was a girl. A girl who didn't seem to mind flattening down against the ground and pressing her cheek on the grass. Into the bush she peered, cooing out sweetly "Oh-aaaaaay-sis!"

Reaching into the bush with her arm, she seemed to almost bat about in an effort to startle the potential offending cat out of the plant.

When no cat emerged from the plant, the girl seemed to squirm and almost start crawling into the bush, so only her rump was sticking out.

"...um..." It was going to be a bit difficult to explain to Carolynn why her daughter was covered in leaves and dirt, but at least the child had a personality to match the activity choices.

It was towards the area that Minerva had been inspecting that something would be sticking out beneath her fingers as she brushed the ground.

Something that seemed to glimmer lightly of a rich golden color...
