Jessie
It had been a few weeks since Jessie had had the free time to set up a training session with Xander or Lily, pretty much ever since the impromptu night time visitation to Mars. First it was spending a few days in Pompeii centering herself after the whole book fiasco, then it was her parents showing up unexpectedly, then the new books came in... The list could go on and on but after giving all her workers the weekend off she gave herself the day off and closed the store for Memorial Day. It was one of the traditional closed days for the store anyway; Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years. The last two were more likely to be smushed into one long break but overall they were day's when her father refused to open the store as it was a 'just for family' day. Since her folks were in Ohio right then Jessie spent the day cleaning and sorting her own books.
It had been a productive day but a glance at the clock and out the window informed her that it was time to go. Jessie had a training session scheduled with Xander at one of the smaller, out of the way parks and if she left now she would reach there just in time to meet him.

Xander
Xander found it odd that Jessie had contacted him about training. He thought surely she would have gone to Lily, but oddness aside, he hadn't refused her. She was a teammate and they were suppose to look at for one another. They were suppose to be there for one another and if that meant they would train together, then that's what it meant. Xander would try to make it beneficial for Jessie and actually attempt some semblance of fighting.
He had agreed to meet her at the park, they were headed to Pompeii for the day because they both had the day off, but Xander was going in for the late shift tonight. He went and waited for her intent on suggesting they find a rooftop to power up on despite knowing it mean climbing the fire escape. He just didn't think powering up during the day in a park, no matter how far out it was. He wasn't too keen on being spotted, he doubted Jessie was either.

Jessie
Jessie made it to the park and quickly spotted Xander. It wasn't hard to miss the six foot redhead. She hurried over to him, calling out to him as she went. "Xander. Sorry I'm late." Only by a moment or two but the bus was running slow and he was doing her a favor by taking his time to train with her. She didn't even notice the glares she received from the few females in the park. The reason Jessie picked this park was that it was a decent distance away from both of their homes and there was a apartment building right next to it that did not lock it's rooftop door. All they would have to do is slip into the building and make their way up five floors to the roof, the tallest around so no one would be looking down at them. It was one of those shear luck finds from one of her patrols.
Jessie really hoped the more experienced squire would be able to help her channel her magic better, Aralias just laughed before disappearing like he normally does when ever she asked her ancestor for help.

Xander
Xander gave a wave to Jessie and walked to meet her as she hurried over to him, “It’s okay Jessie. I just got here myself. You know though I could have picked you up, that probably would have been easier, so next time I come get you okay.” He gave her the Jacobs smile that generally graced him and his sister’s faces. They were always smiling, if they weren’t you knew something was truly wrong.
He dropped his voice, moving closer to Jessie to make sure she heard him, “I hope you have another place in mind to power up. A rooftop preferably. I don’t see how we can not be spotted here.” He stepped back and smiled, offering a hand to Jessie to take and lead the way. He didn’t even think about what it looked like in the current moment to probably everyone around.
“Shall we,” he said making it clear he hoped that he’d train with her, but he wasn’t powering up here. It was nerve wracking enough that they would be powering off in the daytime, so matter how briefly.

Jessie
Jessie shrugged. “Its not a big deal to take the bus but sure, if you want.” She would have to figure out what could balance out a car ride in the future but since she still didn’t know what to do to balance this training she mentally shrugged off the question, she could just continue to add it to the running tallie she mentally kept.
When Xander leaned in close Jessie happened to notice movement off to the side. Two teenage girls were whispering and watching them. I wonder why? She thought silently as she nodded in affirmative to Xander when he stepped back. “This way.” Jessie took a few steps into the lead and grabbed her teammate’s offered hand. She was a bit excited to begin practicing her magic and other then Luxor no one other than herself had actually been brought to Pompeii, it would be interesting to see what Xander thought of the empty city.
Jessie gave Xander’s hand an impatient tug and smiled back at him when she suddenly caught the glare of one of the young mother’s sitting on a park bench. It wasn't apparent to her how the two of them had seemed to others, as if they were two lovers meeting so they could go and enjoy each other’s company in private since it was pretty obvious where Jessie was pulling Xander. Not even realizing she was doing it, Jessie’s face flamed bright red and she dropped Xander’s hand, but gestured to their end destination. What was with that lady?

Xander
Xander didn't notice any stairs or any attention on them he was just relieved when Jessie confirmed going elsewhere to power up, being spotted was potentially dangerous. When Jessie took his hand and started to lead the way, he went without resistance, but when she quickly dropped his hand face flaming he was a bit confused though still he followed her. "Are you okay?"
They were headed into an apartment building and Xander figured they would either head into the laundry room or up to the rooftop. He didn't care either way, though the rooftop would be better for their return. Jessie headed up the stairs and he followed glad it would be the rooftop. When they reached the top he opened the door for Jessie. "Remember its daylight, so don't go too close to the edge."
He turned and looked at the door then to Jessie, "will we be locked up here if I let it close." He was still holding the door and thinking about how to keep it open.

Jessie/Pompeii
Jessie's blush was starting to fade when Xander asked about it causing it to flare again. "Yeah. It's just a bit hot out right now." Even though there was a nice light breeze tugging at the trees. Getting into the building was a good way to change the subject and even that turned out easier than expected since a delivery guy was just leaving. So with a polite nod, a hello, and holding the door for the guy they were in. The last few times Jessie had to get one of the other residents to let her in, fake food delivery works wonders.
A few flights of stairs brought them to the roof, she nodded thanks as Xander held the door for her but suppressed the smarmy response to the reminder, she just nodded again. The cigarette butts made it clear what this little vantage point was used for. "Yeah it locks but that's why the residents put a stone by the door." She picked it up and wedged it between the door and the frame. Their biggest problem would be returning to find that someone had come up and closed the door. A quick check proved that the roof was clear so without much more delay, Jessie powered up.
It was only moments after Xander powered up that they were both standing on the great seal of the Residence. The hall a blaze in light so unlike the first time she came here. The mosaics and murals were as vivid as the day they were created. "It must be night here," Pompeii said as she noticed that the strongest source of light was the many lanterns blazing from the ceiling. The gray stone of the building made it surprisingly easy to figure the time of day since it bounced light really well. "It might be best if we train here in the hall since the city is really dark"

Xander/Shangri-la
Xander powered up becoming Shangri-la and put a hand on Pompeii’s shoulder so they could make their way. This was the first time he would be going to another wonder, but not the first time he would be going elsewhere in space. Landing in Pompeii it was night, but still he was awed by all the buildings around. Shangri-la had a sort of peaceful beauty, but Pompeii was an architectural puzzle. He’d seen pictures of Pompeii, but he wasn’t prepared for this, or the lack of corpse’s earth’s wonder was famous for. He was extremely curious how it work, how it was here in its entirely but there as well in ruins.
He looked around momentarily, until he was brought back to his senses by Pompeii’s words and he turned to her motioning for her to lead the way. “This is really amazing. I’ve only been like Shangri-la and Ida. It seems that the places across the universe are vast and very different. It’s frankly quite amazing. I will have to show you Shangri-la sometime. You might like it, there is a lot to see there. Though I like to show the valley and the falls.”
He gave a smile and followed her still looking around, curious, but ever polite, never staring too long or touching anything.

Pompeii
The walk outside had been short, even with the dim light from within the knight's Residence the stars made seeing the courtyard and a few of the city buildings easy. She turned to see what her teammate thought of her wonder and smiled softly when it seemed he appreciated the odd city. Even deserted as it was it was still a thing of beauty and no little bit of wonder, as the ancient greek architecture melds with victorian or some other gothic seeming style to create a look all its own. "I would like that although I wouldn't likely be able to help you like you can help me." She slipped her shawl off her shoulders and held one end out.
"I don't know how to use it. Aralias had never really explained it, only that I should trust my instincts.” Pompeii had just gotten use to the ball of yarn when she got into a tangle with a nega and ended up instinctually calling on her Wonder for help.
”And I told you to stop bringing strange men here… this isn’t some secret love nest for you missy. Even a five year old could figure out how to use that thing…” The mean spirited ghost just stepped out of the shadows shaking his head at his descendant. The five foot nothing shade just glanced over at Pompeii’s compainion and added a skathing remark, “Although I don’t know if a Titan would count as a dalliance.”
Aralia’s harsh words put Pompeii’s back up and she practically hissed out between clenched teeth, “First of all he is a team mate and is willing to help me where as you are not. Second, while a ‘five year old’ might have figured this thing out with your cryptic non help I have had other things to deal with and just haven't had the time to unlock the mysteries of your egotistical brain, other than smothering my enemies in its wooly embrace there is little I can do with it. And third, If you aren't willing to help by being crystal clear as to the whole ‘yoda non answer’ crap then you can just poof off to wherever you came from before I throw a lightning bolt at your a** ala Zeus.”
”Well la de da…. little miss ‘don't know what I’m doing’ has claws. And excuse me, I help in the way I know how… not everyone can be a Silas like Mount Olympus over there.” He nodded in Shang’s direction before just popping out of view.
Pompeii turned back to Shang and began to sputter apologies. When she brought Camelot here Aralias wasn’t that obnoxious and other than a opening comment left them pretty much alone. He seemed so much more… well pissed… then the last time she came begging some help from him. “He said that Saturn pull is binding and none escaped from her deadly grasp without her acceptance. It was the only hint he gave me I swear. If the Ghostbusters were real I would totally be tempted to call them to exercise this place from that grump.”
