He was through the absolute worst of his detox. New found fiance, Laine, had helped him through it, held him, didn't let love turn to hate when he inevitably screamed at her about feeling smothered or called her names that he regretted. Kor apologized to her, he did...

Every now and then, in the dead of night Kor would wake up and Laine wouldn't be there. She wasn't there for a few hours and every time he thought he had run her off with his attitude and harsh words. She came back though. Came back and slid into bed next to him like she'd never left. The man ever once asked where she was, either. He figured she'd tell him when she was ready, that everyone had their secrets. God knows he did.

But he couldn't help the sense he... that those memories were playing a big part of both of their lives now. He didn't know if Laine was this Azurite woman, but he had a feeling the pair were connected one way or another. If that was the case, Kor knew he had to protect her, protect Laine. It was this sense of protectiveness that drove him to skulking around alleyways, looking for someone that could tell him how he became the man he saw he was in those memories. This.. Rutile person. That was the name he went by when he was married to Laine with children.

As he turned the corner, boot clicking on the damp cement of an alley on the outskirts of the city, Kor rubbed his hand. This was familiar... This kind of street life, having to sneak around to get what you wanted, to find someone. "Just right up my alley," he murmured to himself, swallowing thickly. It might help if he knew exactly who or what he was looking for.

General Buddingtonite.

General Buddingtonite.

The title sounded bitter to him, though it was a title he held for almost a year now. A title that he worked, oh so hard for and had worn with pride for the most part of the year. He remembered the unimaginable joy he felt when the title was bestowed upon him, the smug expression he wore when he rubbed it in his fellow officers' faces. He enjoyed the respect, the authority, the duty that came with it.

Or he used to. General just seemed so... incomplete. So utterly incomplete, and now Buddingtonite found himself disappointed. Something strange had occurred to the citizens of Destiny City in the past few months, and when confronted with what he 'experienced', he simply lied and said nothing. He experienced nothing, but it was a lie in the sense that what he saw of himself in that dark dream was the promise of something great.

His title was General-King. And he had felt complete. It was a wonderful dream, and his denial of remembering that dream wasn't out of shame or disgust with what he had become or what had become of Destiny City, but rather... denial that it was nothing more than a dream. A dream that seemed so out of reach now, considering his duties now consisted of finding starseeds and energy for his beloved General Mica, or rather, the weak and still recovering Nyasa, to feed off of in hopes of a speedy recovery.

That's what brought him to the alley this evening, seducing a rather pleasant young lady that was looking for a good time and some cash, perhaps. She would not only leave this encounter empty handed but minus a starseed, but that would come after a good, long, solid kiss... he figured he could at least give her pleasure before ending her life.

At least, that was the gameplan, as he heard someone approach, and, sensing no aura, he turned his head to snap, the words hanging in his throat when he realized just who it was. "What part of spooky scary alleyway seemed enticing to you? Go away... oh..."

He walked down the alley, nervous but looking like he was oozing confidence. It's how you had to hold yourself here. Kor was always nervous on the streets, especially when he had his gang. Things could go south really, really fast.

Lost in thought, Kor didn't notice the pair at first, too focused on what he was going to say if he did run into one of these Negaverse agents. Even if they couldn't recruit him, maybe they'd be able to find someone who could. Then those words echoed out and hit his ears and Kor's head snapped up, dreads flying behind him with the force of it, and the way he took a defensive stance. Then there seemed to be some recognition from the other party and he just looked mildly confused. "The part where I'm looking for you."

At least, he thought he was? This man looked like a Negaverse agent, but he couldn't be sure, honestly. He only knew what he was supposed to look like in the future. "So you let that pretty lady go and we'll have a nice chat, yeah?" He tried to make it sound vaguely threatening, giving his voice an edge of hardness to it that hadn't been heard by Buddingtonite before. Well, Richard, but Kor didn't know they were one in the same.

On the outside he probably looked the part of a smooth, cool as a cucumber kind of guy, straightening his stance and looking over the interloper with a calm expression on his face. But on the inside, and not even really deep inside, he was panicked. His heart raced insanely in his chest, his crimson eyes likely giving away the frantic screams echoing in his head, and the hand that gingerly held the lady he was with trembled slightly, before he forced himself to let her go. She seemed more annoyed than anything else, but she no longer registered in his mind.

Only Kor.

"Looking for moi? Not sure if I should be flattered or suspicious... it's not often that there is someone looking specifically for me." Buddingtonite said, intrigued by the notion that he was seeking him, but also completely and utterly terrified. Did Kor know who he was? Did his glamour not worth with Kor? How? He tried not to panic, and he was so distracted by the very idea that his friend and multiple time sex partner had recognized him that he did nothing to stop the woman from taking her leave. She gave an annoyed groan and pushed herself off of Buddingtonite, and her fine a** and her even finer starseed were lost forever for the general.

Not that he cared, with Kor in front of him. "Very well then, I should hope I don't disappoint you. The name is General Buddingtonite, and what is it that's so important for use to discuss this fine evening?"

General. That was good. He didn't know a Buddingtonite, but a General was good. The higher up the better, right? From what he knew of the military, a general was one of the highest ranks you could climb to. Kor took a deep breath and watched the woman leave and just rolled his eyes. Normally Kor would have tried to steal that girl, try to make her fall for him instead of this character, but he wasn't here for that. ...He probably wouldn't be doing that anymore.

"..I've had visions of the future, I think." Kor sounded unsure as he curled his hands into fists and uncurled them, trying to work out his own nerves. This wasn't exactly something he thought he'd be doing. "...I was one of you. ...A lieutenant. I need to be one."

He had to protect Laine. He had to be able to follow her out at night. He still didn't know who she was, her name, but he knew she did things at night that left her injured or angry. He needed to figure out why. "I have reasons behind it, but I need to be this lieutenant now. Where... do I sign up?" Was it as easy as signing his name? He doubted it for some reason, but Kor was willing to do anything right now. He had a look of determination on his face behind worried eyes.

Buddingtonite:
Oh, great, one of those…

It took much for Buddingtonite to resist the urge to roll his eyes at the notion, though he was certain that one could look into his gaze and see the slight annoyance that sprang up in them. Future this, dark and dreary foreboding that! Everyone that talked about the ‘future’ they saw always trembled, or whined, or feared it, and Buddingtonite was growing more exasperated by the day. It was becoming hard to pretend he saw nothing, when everyone else around him seemed to fear it instead of accept it, or even, dare he say, welcome it.

Then again, you had the luxury of becoming General-King… so of course you’d welcome it.

But not this one. Kor had seen his future as a lieutenant, and he wanted it? Buddingtonite could only stare at him with an expression that probably read ‘are you ********’ stupid’, and he said nothing for a bit. What reasons could those be? What could have he have seen that made him WANT a future that so many others despised?

And why was he even questioning him? He would have gladly awakened him, but something was off, and he had been burned too many times to simply go with the flow. “Forgive me for not immediately jumping at the chance to do so, but… I need a better reason than ‘I need it’ if I’m going to enlist you. What did you see in that vision that demands you become…”

A monster. A sadist. An insane fool.

“One of us?”

He needed more of a reason? Kor watched this man closely, tried to get some sort of reading off of him and he couldn't. This man seemed like an enigma and that's probably the thing that worried Kor the most, was that this General could literally kill him without much effort, and ...he got a feeling he would if things went south. The darker man rang his hands together before shoving them into his pockets and stepping forward.

"....My reason? ...To protect someone I love," he murmured, frowning hard. "...The woman I'm going to marry is involved somehow and I need to do something to protect her. I'm going to get my future, change what I've seen and... make it better." He finished on a lame note, he thought, but that was the God honest truth. Kor wasn't doing this for the good of the war, or trying to tip the balance. Laine was in this war somehow, he wasn't quite sure if he knew how, but he was going to find out and do everything in his power to protect her. If he got an early enough start, maybe he could avoid having fingers cut off. Maybe he wouldn't have that hatred he felt bubbling up in him.

"....It might not be what you want to hear, but I am being honest."

Buddingtonite
Though there was much he could have said and plenty of opportunities to do so, Buddingtonite was surprisingly silent, so much so that those that knew him would swear the officer was either frozen solid or simply dead. Neither was the case, as his coat was heavy and perfect for keeping out that pesky cold weather, and the hardest part for him… well, one of, was not simply pulling Kor into his hold to warm him up. It was hard, to listen to Kor talk to him, not knowing who he was, not realizing that Buddingtonite was someone who he had become rather intimate with on multiple occasions. Common sense dictated that he NOT reveal this, at least not yet. But when he did, how could he go about doing that? What would be the best way to make such a reveal? Which would be the most fun for his friend?

During post-awakening sex? Definitely during post-awakening sex.

Not that it would come. Or perhaps. Kor gave his reasons, and he immediately grew curious when he said ‘woman’. Not him? No, he was definitely a man, and Kor never thought that Richard needed protection before. So, immediately, his mind went to one person, remembering their little banter in their most previous visit and unable to hide the shock from his candy red eyes.

Laine.

Just like that, all humor and mirth had died within him, and Buddingtonite was surprised at just how frigid his voice had become in such a short amount of time, even to his own ears. Had he ever spoken this way before? Probably not, but he
would not waste it. “Tell me what happened to this ‘woman you married’ in the future, then. Tell me what you saw happen to her, and how you joining will change it.”

Yes, tell me so that I can help… I don’t want anything to happen to Laine, to my precious Laine.

For some reason Buddingtonite didn't say anything for a long time and Kor hesitated. He almost wanted to call all of this off, to go find someone else. This man didn't seem like he'd been all that keen on this anyway. He took a deep breath and hung his head a little before he heard Buddingtonite's voice hit his ears.

It was.. cold. Clinical. His brows knit and he shook his head. "...Nothing. Nothing happens to her. I saw children. I saw.. we were fighting along side one another. ....I think it was her, anyway that I fought with. I had missing fingers.." He rubbed his left hand, staring at his pinkie and ring finger. "These two," he held them up, " were gone. She protected me. Soothed me. But I know she's going to get hurt if I don't have a means of protecting her. ...There was this other woman, white outfit, a senshi? I think that's what she called herself, that came after us."

In his dream/memory Kor was a fresh recruit, new, didn't know what he was doing. He'd panicked and had gotten the brunt of her attack. "Do you ever get a feeling that something bad is going to happen because you're powerless? That's me. That's what I'm dealing with. She's..." Out there on her own, doing God knows what, coming home tired, sore, bruised on occasions. "She comes home hurt sometimes." Kor scrubbed his hands over his face and just watched this other man, stepping closer to him.

"Look, if you don't want to do this for me, point me in the direction of someone who can."

Buddingtonite:
And just like that, whatever frigid demeanor that had taken over Buddingtonite was gone in a heartbeat, as the moment that Kor told him that nothing happened to her (barring the whole married with children sort of deal because Buddingtonite would not have considered that ‘nothing’), he felt the ice around him melt from the relief he felt. He was still a little angry with her for her actions in the park, having not only assisted in costing the Negaverse one officer but two, but had publically helped humiliate him in front of the enemy, but was it enough to want something so horrible to happen to her?

No. At least nothing too gruesome. The thought of her going through the ordeal of pregnancy that awaited her in the future, though… yes, that would have been a suitable punishment for her actions against him. He forced his attention back to Kor and not to the thought of poor Laine ballooning with an evil parasite living inside of her, though the mental image of Kor missing fingers did good in pulling him back into the present. He wasn’t sure who had lopped the fingers off, or why, but it certainly wasn’t a good look for Kor… Or anyone, for that matter! He took in the appearance of the one they fought, but it was ultimately useless. Woman in a white outfit? Basically every senshi of the White Moon there… not helpful.

Kor stepped closer to him, continuing to plead his case, but it was ultimately a useless endeavor. Kor had stepped forward, and in response, so did Buddingtonite, their combined efforts bridging the gap between them, and Buddingtonite reached out with his scarred hand, pressing it against his chest. It wouldn’t plunge into
the body, not yet, but it would. And soon. He wasn’t pleased to find out that Laine had been returning hurt, but with Kor working as one of them, maybe that wouldn’t become a problem anymore?

“I can do it for you, easily. In fact, I’d love to be the one to awaken you, though you’re going to think me such an a*****e by the end of this night, I’m sure.” Buddingtonite said with a grin, the kind of smile that resembled a nurse distracting a child from the massive needle he or she was about to plunge into the arm. It would hurt, undoubtedly, but that wasn’t what he suspected Kor would be angry with him for. “If you’re willing to seek out one of us, if you’re willing to be a part of us, all for the sake of this one girl, then I won’t stand in your way. Just promise me… you’ll never harm her, or allow harm to come to her. If I hear her cry, if I see a SINGLE drop, it won’t be pretty. Do you promise?”

Being pregnant wasn't a punishment, at least not to Kor or Laine. He wanted kids, in this memory/dream he had, she did too. Being pregnant suited her and hew as going to make sure that happened, at some point. Not any time soon. Hell, they were rushing getting married because Kor was so terrified that she'd end up finding someone better. Maybe Richard. ..She knew Richard, and from how Richard talked about her, they seemed to know each other pretty well. Luckily for Kor, he didn't know Buddingtonite was Richard yet. If he did, well, he'd probably have a few choice words with the whole thing about not watching Laine.

"This woman that attacked us? She had ...like, an attack that had words spinning around me, confused me." The Senshi of Words, Kepler, but since that happened, Kor had been in the hospital for drug abuse and injury, so his memory wasn't all it was cracked up to be.

But then Kor's chest was touched and he blinked, trying to not pull back. He figured this had something to being... awakened? Is that what e called it? Still, Kor's hands clenched a bit as Buddingtonite continued to talk and then blinked. It was as if he knew who he was talking about. He'd already made Laine cry, with his overdosing, for worrying her so much. He'd screamed at her, called her names, and she just took it, she just stayed by his side to make sure he was okay. "....I won't ever hurt her." Not physically, and he was going to try not to hurt her mentally or emotionally. Kor wasn't good at this relationship stuff, but honestly, he was willing to try for her. For one other man, but it didn't seem that was going to pan out. Dalliances were fun with this man, however.

"...If this happens, and I become one of you.. We can both make sure nothing happens to her."
PostPosted: Mon Dec 01, 2014 7:40 pm

Buddingtonite:
Even with that description, it was hard for Buddingtonite to imagine said senshi, but he knew that he wouldn’t want anything to do with her. Any senshi that could summon swords was an immediate ‘nope’ in his book, and once he discovered this senshi’s identity, then he would use everything in his power to ensure that she did not leave a fight with extra fingers, courtesy of his new recruit.

His new recruit. His. That never sounded old, and despite everything, Buddingtonite could only feel his grin deepening, likely looking the part of a madman but not caring what Kor might have thought. If he was the mad one, then what did that make Kor for willingly subjecting himself to this? Then again, he had done the same, but he was also stupid as a sack of bricks, and drunk…

Which put Kor and his noble reasoning only one step above him. But only a marginal step… nobility and honor would have no place in this Negaverse or this future that seemed ultimately inevitable.

There was some kind of strength that Buddingtonite admired in that last bit, and if it was within his power, he would have made the awakening gentle, or perhaps sensually stimulating as their escapades had been. But alas, it was out of his hands. Not so much the starseed, however, as he pressed his hand deep into the chest, grabbing the starseed that laid hidden with his friend’s body and he began to pump the dark gift that resided in his body into the starseed. It would hurt. It would be extremely painful. But Kor wanted this, and Buddingtonite would have been a liar if he said he wasn’t
looking forward to this.

Not only was he adding a friend into the fold, but surely his fellow officers would see his efforts and he would be rewarded. A terrible thing to think, but if this got him one step closer to that delicious title he longed for, then so be it.

“Oh, that we will, Kor… that we will.”

God, if Kor knew that this was Richard, it would make this whole process a little less... awkward. The other was really, really close to him and obviously really handsome, but Kor couldn't shake the feeling this was probably going to ruin his life. Or at least complicate it ten fold. Still, that would be fine if Laine would be alright and stop coming home with bruises. It kind of really hurt that she snuck around and expected him to stay oblivious to it.

He looked to the side after a minute of staring at that crazy grin the other had on his face and then steeled himself to not step backwards. He couldn't puss out now. Kor's breathing was calculated and even, deep so he didn't start panicking and looking like the world's biggest flake.

He needed this.

The hand pressed to his chest meant this Buddingtonite would be able to feel his frantic heart beat. Kor's hands came up to grip that arm just as it pushed deep into his chest, causing him to whimper and then scream as the pain overwhelmed him. He would struggle, only he was paralyzed by the amount of pain that was emanating from his chest.

In all of Kor's life he had never felt pain like this, even when he'd been shot, through his suicide attempts, and all the fights he'd been in... Something about having a hand reaching into your chest, and something leaking into it was just so much worse. He felt like he was going to pass out or possibly die. As soon as that hand had pushed into his chest, Kor's eyes were closed, and despite his face screwed up in pain, he was officially crying like a little baby.
PostPosted: Tue Dec 16, 2014 6:54 pm

For a brief moment, Buddingtonite almost wanted to stop and withdraw, and it was no question as to what had caused the moment of self doubt within him. When he took this position and allowed Metallia to grant him the dark gift, he knew that he would have been doing some unsavory things, and this far he was certain he was fulfilling that duty splendidly. But there was a line that he didn’t think himself capable of crossing, and causing pain to his friends, either powered or civilian, left a sour taste in his mouth. He wanted to stop, but he pushed on, knowing that if he didn’t go through with it now than it would only cause further pain down the road. Maybe he wouldn’t have enough energy for a second try, or maybe Kor couldn’t handle a second attempt? What if he snapped the starseed in two? How could he possibly explain to Laine that her boyfriend or whatever he was had become a youma?

Thankfully, that was a discussion that was not destined to be, as the starseed he caressed and coaxed accepted the darkness, and before his eyes, Kor was engulfed in that dark, thick black ribbons that had consumed him multiple times before, eating away at his clothing and masking his form. He had not watched the transformation happen before him, he wouldn’t have recognized the rather dapper gentleman that now stood in front of him, and Buddingtonite released the starseed and withdrew his hand. He nearly lost his footing and toppled backwards, but he refused to show just how tired he was, as he straightened up and looked over the man standing before him.

“Well… not too shabby, if I saw so myself. It’s a good start, certainly…”

Kor didn't know what was worse, the hand going in or the hand going out of his chest. Either way, the new Lieutenant was glad that hand was finally out of his chest and he'd gotten what he'd wanted. But now he was just so tired. He staggered a bit before finding himself a wall to lean against, ignoring the familiar, chilled, grimy texture, if not a bit damp, under his hand. He was sweating and breathing hard now as his other hand rubbed where his chest hurt. No, Kor hadn't seen himself yet, hadn't even opened his eyes because my GOD this wasn't as painless as he thought it was going to be.

Taking several shaky breaths, those green eyes fluttered open to look at Buddingtonite and slowly he pulled himself straight, standing up and then looked down. "...Huh." Not a uniform like he imagined, but definitely his style.

"Gr--" His throat felt like it was closing up so he cleared it a bit and shook his head hard, dreads brushing his back. "Great. U-uh.." Now what? What he wanted was to go lay down for a few hours and sleep. Or call Laine and have her come pick him up. The latter sounded better, especially with how cold he was getting. "Thanks uh.. sir." Names? What were those pesky things? Nothing he could wrap his head around, that was for certain.
